How to make your own from plain paper

But making a mask from polymer clay is much more difficult than from plain paper. First, consider that plastic tends to be very expensive. Secondly, it must be baked. But a mask made of polymer clay will be much stronger than paper. It is unlikely to break when dropped, and even more so it will not wrinkle. To make such a mask, you can take about five hundred grams of clay.

First, take the required amount of clay and roll it into a layer about five to six millimeters thick. Then, with a stack or a toothpick, draw a monkey face on this layer. Next, cut off the unnecessary clay. And already with your fingers give the necessary relief of the muzzle. Form the eyebrows, nose, mouth and ears of the monkey. If necessary, at this stage, you can tone the muzzle with powder or a special powder for clay.

After you have blinded the muzzle, send it to bake. Such a large product should spend at least thirty minutes in the oven. Do not immediately take the mask out of the oven, otherwise you may break it. After the product has cooled, take out the mask and cover with acrylic varnish. Glue string or elastic to it. The hardest thing is to make a monkey out of foam rubber. But a mask made from this material will be light and very beautiful. First, make a muzzle silhouette out of thick cardboard or felt. You can use the pattern in the previous photo. Then baste foam rubber one or one and a half centimeters thick to the cardboard. Next, take a velvet fabric or pantyhose fabric. Draw the contours of the monkey's muzzle on the foam rubber with chalk. Form the nose and eyebrow arches with a thread and a needle.

Then, with a needle and thread, finally sew the velvet to the foam rubber. The head of the monkey can be made from dark brown velvet, and the muzzle from light brown. To make the pattern for the ears, draw two more small circles. Here are all the main details ready. Can be cut. Now we need to check if the mask is proportional. The large circle is the base of the mask, on top of it we put a heart-shaped figure, the top of this figure is the monkey's eyes, and the oval is the mouth. It must be applied horizontally so that it covers the lower part of the heart. On the sides we lay out circles - ears. If the monkey turns out to be proportional and suits you, then you can cut out the details already from colored cardboard. We cut out the main circle from brown cardboard, all other details from sand-colored cardboard. Now you can collect all the details in the finished mask. We fold them in the same order: a large circle, a heart-shaped figure on top, an oval, and lay out the ears on the sides. We glue all the details. Do not forget that the circles for the ears must be placed under the base.

The next step is to make cuts for the eyes and mouth. Try on the mask on the child and make marks for the eyes at the right level. With sharp scissors, carefully cut small vertical ovals. Next, try on the mask again and make a mark at the level of the mouth. Cut a narrow strip at mouth level. Now your mask is almost ready.

Take a thin black marker and draw a nose just above the mouth. It can be depicted both in the form of two points, and made in a small circle. Also draw the contours on the ears with a thin marker. Here is the monkey mask for the New Year's ball and is ready.

If you want a mask with an elastic band, then take a thick needle and make holes in the area of ​​\u200b\u200bthe ears, thread the elastic band of the desired size through them.

To make a mask, cut out the base from brown thick cardboard. This is a long rectangle that we will fold into an oval, that is, its length should be such that the mask can be easily put on the child’s head, and the width of the rectangle is the desired mask width of 7-10 cm. Next, we glue the rectangle into an oval and get the base for the mask . Cut out a heart and a small oval from sand-colored cardboard. Glue these shapes onto the base so that the oval covers the bottom of the heart. We get a place for the eyes at the top of the heart and the mouth of the monkey. Now glue the eyes, draw a nose and mouth with a marker. Next, cut out two small circles from brown cardboard - ears. We glue them on the sides and trace the contours with a marker.
