Climax

Socks are a traditional, affordable item of clothing that you can make yourself by knitting them using knitting needles. It would seem, how can you decorate knitted socks so that they are the most beautiful? There are many options - these are classic braids, and the presence of openwork jacquard patterns of different configurations not only for adults, but also for children. Let's look at the original patterns below and learn how to knit socks with beautiful patterns. Let's make sure that they can be used not only in dress fabric or when designing a sweater.

Knitting socks - several suitable patterns

Today, socks can be decorated with any patterns you like, sew on a balabon, symmetrically divide the color scheme, and also apply other ideas, including your own imagination, or by watching a video on the Internet. As a result, needlewomen receive warm, original socks with an element of openwork or other decors.

When knitting socks with knitting needles, it is possible to use various patterns. Today their availability on the Internet is great and there can be no problems with this. The most beautiful patterns and patterns are provided below. The main thing is to learn how to correctly knit the main elements of this item - the heels and toes. So, in order to knit the warmest and most beautiful socks, you need to build on your own skills, choose the appropriate yarn, the purpose and appearance of the future item.

If you plan to knit socks for children who will serve as foot warmers, then the best option would be thick yarn and a knitted pattern. A decorative model will be made from thinner yarn, using an openwork print or voluminous decoration (pompons, ruffles, appliqués). You can view diagrams and videos below:

Jacquard patterns - beautiful patterns

Jacquard is considered a classic, which is certainly in demand in the winter. But knitting them is a bit related to options with particularly complex ideas:

  • you have to work synchronously with threads of different colors;
  • you need to learn how to change them in a timely manner;
  • create the correct thread tension;
  • observe the required knitting density.

The optimal solution in the arrangement of jacquard motifs is stripes with patterns. They can be placed on the cuffs and on that section of the sock panel that is intended for decoration of this place.

To knit openwork socks for children, which are completely covered with a colored pattern, you need to repeat the selected pattern one by one, and so on until the item is completely ready.

The ornament can be alternated with several rows knitted only with facial loops, a single-color thread or other simple patterns. Schemes of the original ornaments are shown in the photo below:

Knitting socks - options for placing a pattern in the sock fabric

There are some options for the distribution of the pattern on the knitted fabric of the sock; they differ in the complexity and speed of the work. Thanks to them, needlewomen create many incredibly beautiful models, including openwork ones:

  • ornaments occupying the entire panel;
  • patterns on cuffs;
  • ornaments for children in the form of elongated stripes.

When knitting socks using knitting needles, the main thing is to choose the appropriate pattern and the most beautiful patterns. Beginner knitters will do better with simple patterns that illustrate elements with a narrow longitudinal report. The vertical pattern will succinctly fit it into the fabric of the sock itself. The report, which is arranged in a checkerboard pattern, is more complex, and often the craftswomen get confused when calculating the loops where the heel begins to be knitted. This option can be used when decorating an even cuff when knitting socks for children. So, we looked at the topic: “Knitting socks, beautiful patterns” and a training video, now you can try to master this type of needlework yourself using a simple example.

Knitting openwork socks is just as easy as making standard socks. These lacy and easy-to-make new things with patterns will not only help keep your feet warm, but will also bring pleasure to the wearer, because patterned socks look just wonderful. How to connect them? This article will present the best schemes for such work with a step-by-step description.

Knitting openwork socks is as easy as standard socks

The openwork elastic band is very beautiful, it looks interesting and stylish. The patterns of the elastic bands can be different; if desired, the master can find any pattern with a detailed description that suits his taste.

The work consists of the following successive stages of knitting:

  1. 66 stitches are cast on a knitting needle. The first 2 rows are knitted on face. This elastic band is openwork, so you don’t have to count on the product being warm.
  2. The toe, back of the work and foot should be knitted in stockinette stitch. As for the elastic, it will be knitted on 15 loops out of 66.
  3. The openwork pattern should be made according to the following pattern: knit 2 loops face down, 2 stitches together, yarn over, remove 1 loop, then knit the front loop through the one just removed. The second row should be knitted with a face. The pattern is repeated until the end of knitting the elastic.
  4. How long does it take to knit such an elastic band? For standard lace socks, it is enough to tie 16 cm of elastic. If desired, this number can be reduced or increased.

Knitted openwork socks for women: a simple description

One of the easiest ways to create openwork socks is to knit them in a spiral. These women's socks are very cute.

The work consists of the following stages:

  1. To begin with, materials are selected. You will need yarn and knitting needles. Circular knitting needles are used to knit socks.
  2. Now cast on stitches on 4 knitting needles. The fifth spoke is a working one. For a medium-sized leg, cast on approximately 25 stitches.
  3. The first step is to tie the elastic band. If the yarn is large, you can knit 1 by 1; if it is medium or small, then it is better to knit 2 by 2.
  4. When knitting a sock after an elastic band, you should form a spiral-shaped circular fabric; to do this, you need to make 1 knit stitch on top of one purl stitch, and vice versa.
  5. When more than 10 cm of the product is knitted, you need to try it on without removing it from the working knitting needles. This is necessary to determine the correct knitting density. If the sock fits too loosely on your foot or, conversely, too tight, it is better to unravel it and start again, casting on the required number of loops.
  6. After the product has acquired the length desired by the craftswoman, a decrease should be made for the toe. The decreases are made evenly. In each group of loops, the same number of loops should be reduced for symmetry. It is recommended to use a pin so you don't forget where the circle starts.
  7. These socks do not have a heel, this is their peculiarity.

These women's socks are very cute

Tip: Unfortunately, this pattern can stretch over time. However, this can be prevented; to do this, after washing, such work should be twisted in a spiral. They should dry in this condition.

Knitted children's openwork socks

Knitting socks for children is especially pleasant. There are a lot of ideas for such openwork works.

Here is one of them:

  1. Children's socks should be made of warm threads so that the child's feet do not get cold. Therefore, preference should be given to either wool or wool blend yarn.
  2. This knitting method is called "Ladybug". The yarn used here should be red and black.
  3. It should be knitted in 2 threads. After casting on the loops, you can start knitting the elastic. Children's socks should not have an elastic band that is too wide, so you can do it 1 by 1.
  4. After this, the cuff is knitted with red thread. To give it an openwork look, each knit stitch should be alternated with a yarn over. The second row is knitted with the wrong side. This creates small holes.
  5. Next the heel is knitted. To do this, black thread is added to the work.
  6. Loops are made along the edge sides of the knitted heel, and the knitting of the sock continues along the foot. The sock should have ladybug eyes. To do this, several symmetrical double loops are knitted on the front of the product with black thread.
  7. At the end of the work, you need to turn the sock inside out and, using a hook, pull the protruding threads inside.

Knitted lace pattern on baby socks

Children's products can be knitted in any way you like. In this case, it is difficult to create a tasteless item, because children like colorful and bright items. They especially love clothes and shoes that remind them of some kind of animal or cute creature.

As for openwork patterns, there are a lot of them. A craftswoman can find such patterns in knitting magazines or on the Internet, most often these are patterned leaves and flowers.

Here is one such pattern:

  1. You need to choose yarn of two colors: light blue and white.
  2. The first row is knitted in stockinette stitch. Further, in all circular rows, knitting occurs in the face method.
  3. A pattern will form, so it is important to ensure that yarn of a different color does not lie on the right side of the product with the wrong side. To do this, the threads cross on the wrong side.
  4. In order not to get lost and knit the pattern correctly, you can print out the diagram for yourself and put small dots with a pencil at the place where the master is currently “located”. This will help you not get lost.
  5. The heel of the sock should be knitted in blue. In general, it is not recommended to knit the heel and foot area of the sock in a light color, since all the dirt is visible on it.

Scheme of work

What will you need for your job?

First of all, you need to prepare the materials for knitting.

Among them:

  • Yarn. You should not save on it, because not only the appearance of the future product, but also the period of its wear depends on the quality of the threads. The better the quality of the threads, the longer the product made from them will last the owner.

First of all, you need to prepare the materials for knitting

What composition is better to choose threads? The answer to this question depends on many factors. For example, if a craftswoman wants to make warm socks, she should not purchase acrylic threads, since this is a synthetic material that will not warm her feet. She should give preference to wool or mohair threads.

  • Knitting needles. In this case, special knitting needles should be used for knitting socks. There are 5 of them in the set. It is best to use metal knitting needles.
  • Hook. It is convenient for them to stretch the threads to the wrong side.
  • Scissors. They are used at the last stage of work, when you need to pull the threads inside out.
  • Those who are knitting lace socks for the first time should learn how to make regular socks, not lace ones. This is necessary in order to understand the principle of the work itself.
  • The most difficult thing in this matter is knitting the second sock so that it is exactly like the first. To do this, it is important to knit them with the same density.
  • To make the work more rainbow and more beautiful, it is worth using several colors of yarn.
  • To extend the life of socks and prevent them from rubbing in the heel and foot area, you should use a special thread in knitting the bottom of the sock. It is very thin and serves to prevent the product from rubbing when walking.

And if only experienced needlewomen can knit jumpers with intricate patterns, then simple knitted socks are an ideal option for beginning craftswomen.

To knit socks you will need:

  1. Stocking needles. For thin yarn (100 g/350-400 m) No. 2-2.5 are suitable, for thicker yarn (100 g/250-300 m) - No. 3-3.5. It should be remembered that detailed information about the knitting needles suitable for the selected type of yarn is indicated on the skein label.
  2. Scissors.
  3. to complete the work and assemble the product parts.

Determination of size, calculation of cast-on loops

To determine the number of stitches you need to cast on to create a sock with knitting needles, use the knitting table:

Knitting socks on two knitting needles for beginners - step by step

Knitting socks using two knitting needles is very simple. Even those who are about to start working on their first product can do this. Detailed instructions are provided below.

Scheme for knitting socks with knitting needles - description of a simple method:

  1. We cast on 1/2 of the required number of loops (see table).
  2. We knit an elastic band 5 cm high. Choose the type of elastic to your taste: 1*1 (knit stitches/purl stitches), 2*2 (2 knit stitches/2 purl stitches).
  3. We continue to knit another 5 cm in stockinette stitch.
  4. Forming the heel. To do this, in each front row we knit 2 loops together before the edge ones. We knit the purl rows in accordance with the pattern. When 1/2 of the +2 cast-on loops remain in the work, we begin to make additions in the front rows, knitting additional loops from the edge loops of the previous row. Work on the heel can be considered complete when the original number of loops is restored.
  5. We knit the sole straight using stockinette stitch.
  6. Starting from the little finger, we form the sock using the same method as for knitting the heel.
  7. We knit the upper part of the sock, simultaneously connecting it along the edges with the lower part.

Knitting on 5 needles - master class

To knit socks correctly on 5 knitting needles, you need to follow the instructions step by step.

  1. We cast on the required number of loops (see table), distribute them evenly onto 4 knitting needles. We knit 5 cm with 1*1 rib, then continue with stockinette stitch.
  2. Having knitted another 5 cm in height (if these rows are not knitted, you will get half-socks), set aside the loops from the 2nd and 3rd needles, and continue to knit the straight part of the heel on the 1st and 4th. We knit as many rows in height as there are loops together on the 1st and 4th knitting needles.
  3. Let's start forming the heel (cap). Let's look at how to knit a heel step by step. To do this, divide all the loops of the straight part of the heel into 3 equal parts. It turns out two sides and a middle. We continue to knit the central part without changes, and on the side parts in each front row we decrease one loop, knitting them together with the outer loops of the central knitting needle. The formation of the heel will be completed when all the loops on the side knitting needles are completed.
  4. We pick up loops from the sides, restoring their original number, and continue knitting in the round. In this way we knit up to the little finger.
  5. From the little finger we form a sock, knitting two loops together at the beginning of the 1st and at the end of the 2nd, at the beginning of the 3rd and at the end of the 4th needle. We pull the working thread through the last 2 loops and fasten it on the wrong side.

Options for knitting socks with photos, videos and patterns

Based on the above descriptions of knitting socks, you can create beautiful and original models, experimenting with all kinds of patterns, colors and textures during the knitting process.

Men's

It must be remembered that for the stronger half of humanity, the convenience and comfort of clothing is more important than originality and sophistication. Therefore, when knitting socks for men and boys, you should give preference to denser types of yarn that retain heat well.

From the patterns, it is best to choose the front surface, or one of the options presented below:

  • strip;
  • ornament;
  • discreet pattern on the front.

What makes a thing unique is not so much the pattern as the texture and method of dyeing the yarn.

Women's

The main thing in women's socks is their uniqueness and originality. These qualities will give the product airy openwork patterns, among which the most common are triangular, spiral and floral motifs.

Openwork knitting

The main element used in openwork knitting is the yarn over. The greater the number of yarn overs provided in the pattern, the more openwork the socks turn out to be.

When casting on the required number of loops according to the table, take into account the pattern repeat. It is allowed to reduce or increase their number by 2.3. Do not choose an overly complex openwork pattern with large repeats; it will be more difficult to work with.

With ornament

The ornament will be useful to those craftswomen who do not want to sacrifice warmth for the sake of beauty. As a rule, the sock cuff is knitted with a pattern. The star pattern is especially popular, as it is quite simple to make.

Enterlac style

Unusual ways of knitting socks include the enterlac style. Let's look at it in more detail.

Enterlak is a type of patchwork (), which has recently become quite popular among craftswomen. Any knitted items made using this knitting technique look original and attract attention.

The essence of the technique is alternating multi-colored square or rectangular sectors.

Only experienced craftswomen can work in this style.

In order to knit socks without heels in the enterlac style, in addition to the tools listed above, you will need pins. They will be useful for removed loops. You need to take multi-colored yarn of the same thickness.

Sequencing:

  1. We put 5 stitches on the knitting needles with thread of color 1, knit 10 rows in stockinette stitch, remove all open loops onto a pin.
  2. Along the edge of the resulting square, cast on 5 stitches in color 2, knit 10 rows, and again remove the loops onto a pin.
  3. We knit the third square (color 1) similarly to the second.
  4. We knit the fourth square (color 2) and connect its side with the cast-on edge of the first square.
  5. We tie the resulting central element with squares of color 3 in a checkerboard pattern in a circle.
  6. Enter the 4th color.
  7. In circular rows, alternating the colors used, without expanding the work, we knit a sock of the required length. Then you need to finish knitting the sock. Close all loops.
  8. We carefully crochet the last, top row.

We knit the second sock in the same way.

Booties

Since booties are knitted for small children, there are certain nuances that need to be taken into account when starting work:

  1. Booties should not be too tight for the baby. It is better to immediately connect them with a small reserve. Then the child’s foot will be comfortable in them.
  2. You need to choose soft, non-prickly yarn.
  3. The finished product should not have internal seams. Otherwise, damage to delicate skin may occur.

We offer a quick and easy way to knit booties.

Loop calculation:

  1. We knit a 10*10 sample with the selected yarn. We count the number of loops and rows in the sample.
  2. We measure the length of the baby's foot and multiply it by the number of rows in 1 cm = the number of rows in the sole.
  3. Divide the resulting figure in half, round to an even whole number, divide it in half and multiply by 3 = the required number of cast-on loops.

Simple children's socks with knitting needles step by step:

  1. We cast on the loops and distribute them onto 4 knitting needles.
  2. We knit a cuff. It consists of 12 rows of 1*1 elastic.
  3. At 1 p.m. we knit holes for the ribbon. To do this, first knit two loops together, then make a yarn over. So until the end of the row. We continue according to the picture.
  4. Next we knit 2 rows using stockinette stitch. Then we again distribute the stitches onto 4 knitting needles and begin to knit the upper part of the booties on one of them in garter stitch. You need to complete 18 rows.
  5. We cast on additional loops along the perimeter of the knitted part and knit 10 rows in a circle with the same pattern.
  6. We knit the sole in a straight line, like the toe, starting from the toe, and after knitting each row we fasten it to the sides.
  7. Having tied it to the end, carefully tie the sole to the back wall of the bootie.
  8. We stretch a bright ribbon through the previously knitted holes.

Cool knitted booties are ready!

Knitted boots

To knit interesting boots with knitting needles you will need:

  • thick yarn,
  • braid/tape,
  • finished sole,
  • thick yarn,
  • knitting needles No. 5.

Procedure:

  1. We put 15 loops on the knitting needles and knit using pattern 1. At the same time, we add after the edge stitches in every 4th row. 3*1 p., then in every 2nd p. 3* 1 p. and 6 p. In the end you should get 39 p., we knit the added loops. satin stitch
  2. We knit straight 10 cm for the heel, then add it on both sides after the hem. every 3 cm 6 * 1 p. Total - 51 p.
  3. 20 cm from the heel, after the report is completely completed, we knit holes for the ribbon: knit 2 sts together, 1 yarn over, and knit until the end of the p.
  4. Next another 6 rubles. elastic band 1*1. After this we close the loops.
  5. Using an awl, we make holes at equal distances in the insoles and sew them to the knitted parts.
  6. We thread the tape through the holes. If desired, you can decorate the product with pompoms.

Welcome to everyone who is passionate about knitting!

We continue to climb the mountain and gain professionalism in the “sock” business. Moreover, this summer socks are, alas, more relevant than ever. My feet were asking for warmth, and I had in my hands a wonderful woolen Semenovskaya yarn “Olga” from the Moscow Wool Spinning Factory OJSC.

Who wanted bright colors, here they are. Meet me. Get another charge of positivity!

In my opinion, quite an attractive model. The socks turned out to be interesting not only because of the warm, natural shade of the yarn. The pattern also adds its own touch, seemingly simple, but at the same time very appropriate. It knits easily and looks unusual.

Size.

Sock size 23-24 (foot length 23 cm).

Materials.

  • Yarn “Olga” (95% wool, 5% acrylic; 392 m ⁄ 100 g) - 40 g. Tone 154 “apricot”.
  • Stocking needles No. 2.
  • Hook No. 3.
  • Markers.

Today I knit from domestic Olga yarn. The recommended knitting needle size is No. 2.5-3.0, but I used No. 2. The yarn is classic, containing 95% wool. Inexpensive, the color in the product is much richer and more saturated than in a skein. The canvas turned out neat, and the pattern was expressive and effective. The socks from “Olga” turned out to be warm and not at all prickly, you just feel such a delicate and, I would say, very pleasant tingling sensation.

Knitting density.

Needles No. 2: 26 loops and 28 rows = 10x10 cm.

Knitting patterns.

Scheme No. 1. Front stitch.

  • The front row and all subsequent ones are facial loops.

Attention! Thus, the stockinette pattern is knitted only when knitting in the round.

Scheme No. 2. Elastic band 2×2.

  • 1 row.*2 knit stitches, 2 purl loops*.

Knit the second and subsequent rows similarly to the first.

Scheme No. 3. Openwork pattern “Triangles”.

  • Performed on circular needles N 2.
  • The diagram shows the facial rows.
  • The pattern repeat is 11.
  • Knit from rows 1 to 8.
  • In even rows when knitting in the round, knit all loops and yarn overs with knit stitches.

Description of work.

On double needles No. 2, cast on 44 stitches plus 1. Close into a ring. The beginning of the row can be marked with a marker. We knit in circular rows. If desired, the sock cuff can be tied with any other elastic band to the height you need, and then proceed to making the main openwork pattern.

  • 1-10 row. Scheme No. 1, front stitch.

Height is 3.5 cm.

  • 11-25 row. Scheme No. 2 elastic band 2×2.
  • 26 row. Face loops.

Height is 5 cm.

Then we move on to knitting openwork pattern No. 3 “Triangles”. Repeat the pattern in width 4 times, and in height - 3 times.

  • 27-34 row. Scheme No. 3 “Triangles”.
  • 35-42 row. Scheme No. 3 “Triangles”.
  • 43-50 row. Scheme No. 3 “Triangles”.

The height of the leg turned out to be 8 cm.

Heel shaping.

I would like to give some advice to beginning craftswomen.

  • Try to adhere to the classic rule: the number of edge loops on the heel wall should be equal to the number of loops on one knitting needle.
  • It is advisable to knit the loops of the heel wall and the heel itself with knitting needles half a size smaller. The canvas will be neater and denser.
  • When knitting a straight heel, you can add any synthetic thread to the main thread for strength. True, the heel will turn out to be melange, but it will be dense, thereby extending the service life of your product. I have already tested this on myself. And so that the melange heel does not stand out, it is better to knit the toe using synthetics.

We perform the heel in the traditional way, this is the so-called straight heel.

We divide the knitting into 2 parts and then knit loops from only two knitting needles (3 and 4 knitting needles) - 21 loops. Loops with openwork (1 and 2 knitting needles) - 23 - are not involved in the process at this stage. I added one loop to the top for symmetry of the openwork pattern.

On 21 loops we knit a heel wall equal to 22 rows (51-72 rows).

  • 51 rows and all odd rows. 1 edge loop, 6 knit stitches, 7 purl loops, 6 knit loops, 1 edge loop (wrong side of knitting).
  • Row 52 and all even rows. 1 edge, 6 knit, *1 knit, remove 1 loop, thread at work* - 3 times, 6 knit, 1 edge (right side of knitting).

We finish the heel wall with the front row.

To round the heel, we need to divide 21 loops by 3. The result is 7 loops.

Now let's start decreasing.

  • 1 row. Wrong side of the fabric: we knit 7 loops of the first side part (knit), then all the loops of the middle part (purl), except for the last one, it must be knitted with a purl loop together with the adjacent loop of the second side part. We unfold the knitting.
  • 2nd row. The front side of the fabric: remove the edge and knit all the loops of the middle part (* remove 1 loop, thread at work, 1 front * - 2 times, remove 1 loop, thread at work), except the last one, we knit it together with the adjacent loop of the first side part front behind the back wall. We unroll the knitting again. We knit this way until there are 7 loops left on the knitting needle.

There were 14 rows of decreases in total. Knitting must be finished with the front row.

Knitting until decreases on the toe.

Using knitting needles with loops in the middle part, we pick up 11 loops from each edge wall of the heel.

There should be 52 loops in total (23 loops with a pattern, 7 heel loops and 11 edge loops on each side).

Instep wedge.

Now we need to decrease 8 loops so that there are 44 loops on the knitting needles again.

We continue knitting in the round:

  • 3 and 4 knitting needles - stockinette stitch;
  • openwork is 1 and 2 knitting needles.

At the same time we decrease the loops (2 loops together with the front one before the openwork and 2 loops together with the front “broach” after the openwork). It is recommended to do such uniform decreases every other row until there are 44 stitches left on the knitting needles.

Reducing stitches on the toe.

To make the toe rounded, I closed the loops in the usual way by decreasing the loops.

We finish knitting the openwork and move completely to the front stitch. Up to the 9th row inclusive, we perform decreases every other row.

1 row.

  • 1 knitting needle: 2 purl stitches together, 9 knit stitches;
  • 2 knitting needles: 9 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches together;
  • 3 knitting needles: 2 purl stitches together, 9 knit stitches;
  • 4 knitting needles: 9 knit stitches, 2 purl stitches together.

2nd row. Knit the front loops with knit stitches, purl stitches with purl stitches. Alternate rows 1 and 2, gradually decreasing stitches.

Starting from the 9th row, we perform decreases in each row. When there are 8 loops left on the knitting needles, they should be pulled together and the thread should be “hide” on the wrong side of the product using a hook.

And here is the result - cheerful openwork socks with a “Triangles” pattern.

Assembly and processing of the finished product.

During washing, there was a very strong smell of natural wool, the socks were quite deformed, so I advise you to dry them on a horizontal surface, straightened out. It’s even better to use blockers, then you will get the desired shape of the product. After wet-heat treatment and rinse aid, the socks became soft and pleasant to the touch.

Socks made from these threads are very warm, I even went to bed in them today. The feeling, I tell you, is indescribable! Such a pleasant warmth comes, comparable, perhaps, to a light massage. But the weather hasn’t been kind to us yet, and we really want something soft and cozy...

I hope this article will be useful to someone. I wish you all a great mood and successful creativity.

Beautiful and warm socks to you! Let them warm little and big feet!

I wish you bright balls and light loops!

By the way, my contact information is on the website, I’m always glad to receive orders...

Summer socks model

This model is perfect for a cool summer evening outdoors. We knit openwork socks with 2.5 mm knitting needles from DROPS FABEL yarn with a composition of 75% wool / 25% polyamide, thickness 200 m / 50 g. Schemes for making an openwork pattern are presented below.

Symbols for diagrams.

Face loop:

1 yarn over:

2 together front:

Slip 1 stitch, knit a second stitch and pull through the previous one:

Slip 1 stitch, knit 2 together, pull the resulting loop through the removed one:

For leg size 35-37, you need to cast on 62 stitches on stocking needles and knit two rows with stockinette stitch, then perform 6 circles with a 1x1 rib. In the seventh row, knit the first 11 loops with an elastic band, and the remaining 51 loops with the front stitch, while evenly decreasing 10 loops. This leaves 52 loops. In the next row we knit the first 11 loops with a 1x1 elastic band, and the remaining 41 loops with an M1 pattern. When the length of the product becomes 16 cm, you need to leave an elastic band and 8 loops on each side, transferring the remaining loops to a pin - this will be the front part of the sock. Knit the loops on the knitting needles in stockinette stitch another 5 cm up. Place a marker in the center and continue measuring from there. We knit the heel as follows:

First row (knit): knit until the last 7 stitches, slip one stitch, then knit one, pull it through the removed stitch and turn around.

Second row (purl): we knit purl until the last 7 loops, remove one, then purl one, which we pull through the removed one, and turn around.

Third row: knit until the last 6 stitches, slip one, knit one, pull it through the removed stitch, turn around.

Fourth row: we knit purl until the last six loops, remove one, purl one, which we pull through the removed one, and turn around.

We knit like this until there are 15 stitches left on the knitting needles. Then we pick up 13 loops on each side and return the loops from the pin, so there are 66 loops on the knitting needles. We highlight the central 25 loops with a marker on both sides - this is the upper part of the foot. Then we knit the same 25 loops with the M2 pattern, and we knit the remaining loops with stockinette stitch, while it is necessary to make decreases on the sides as follows: 2 knit stitches together before the marker and 2 knit stitches together after the pattern and 2 markers. Make such decreases 8 times so that 50 loops remain. Carry out the pattern up to 18 cm from the center of the heel. Place markers on the sides - 25 stitches on top and 25 on the bottom and knit in stockinette stitch. In this case, it is necessary to make decreases to form the sock 2 stitches before the marker as follows: knit 2 together, marker, knit 2 together crossed. It is necessary to decrease every other row 4 times, then 6 times in each row. Pull and fasten the remaining 10 loops.

We also offer two more openwork patterns that are ideal for beautiful socks:

With a little thought, you can take this pattern as a basis and develop your own model.
