So far, Ukrainian cosmetics manufacturers cannot afford certification. Not because Ukrainian products are inferior in quality to European ones. No, it meets all the parameters required for natural cosmetics and has excellent reviews. But in the current economic realities, certification can significantly affect the cost of the final product. After all, it is not just expensive, but very expensive. Testing at Ecocert will cost about 5 thousand euros per SKU (stock keeping unit). So, let’s put the logos aside until better times and will be happy and, rest assured, with health benefits, to buy “our own – Ukrainian, because it’s worth it.”

PS. It is very difficult for beginning manufacturers to build a business. They are entering into fierce competition both in the domestic market and outside Ukraine. And producers of organic products have been waiting for many years for the law “On Organic Production” to be signed, although the Verkhovna Rada adopted it on April 21, 2011. We have quite a few of them, although they all deal mainly with food products. The law is needed not only by companies, but also by consumers - to protect against the purchase of counterfeits. It clearly states what the concept of organic products includes, what and how they should be made. Thanks to the law, a conscientious manufacturer would receive new opportunities, and most importantly, would be protected from counterfeiters and their pseudo-organics. It is unlikely that greenwashing would flourish so wildly in the cosmetics environment.
