2 x colored elastic knitting. Two-color elastic band. Vertical two-color English elastic band. Knitting pattern

Thrush

We already know how to knit an English rib. But this knitting pattern can be done not in one color, but in several.

You will be surprised how his appearance will change.

She looks very elegant. This pattern is used to knit hats and scarves, even for the little ones.

Options are possible here too.

  1. Horizontal two-color English elastic band

You can knit with threads of two or more colors.

Description of the pattern: Knitted using a regular English rib. We've already knitted this

If you knit in several colors, you will get a multi-color English rib. J.

I also really like the vertical two-color English elastic band. Its knitting pattern has its own characteristics. It is knitted on circular knitting needles with fishing line or straight, but with two working ends (the kind used to knit socks).

2. Vertical two-color English elastic band. Knitting pattern.

We cast on an odd number of loops. We knit loosely without tightening the loops.

  • Row 1 - right side (color 1) - knit 1, yarn over 1, remove 1 without knitting
  • Row 2 – wrong side (color 2) – 1 yarn over, slip 1, knit 1 (the double crochet loop from the previous row is knitted).
  • Row 3 – wrong side (color 1) – move the knitting to the opposite end of the knitting needle and knit – 1 purl (purl we knit a yarn over with a loop, counting them as one loop), 1 yarn over, 1 slip.
  • Row 4 – front side (color 2) – 1 yarn over, 1 slip, 1 purl (purl we knit a yarn over with a loop, counting them as one loop).
  • Row 5 – right side (color 1) – move the knitting to the opposite end of the knitting needle and knit 1 knit (knit a yarn over with a loop, counting them as one loop), 1 yarn over, remove 1 without knitting.
  • Row 6 – repeat the pattern from the second row.

I knitted a beautiful two-color scarf with English rib in a black and lilac version with frills. This pattern also produced very impressive black and white leg warmers. I had a choice between two-color elastic, I settled on elastic and did not regret it. :).

The description may seem complicated, but this is only at first glance. It is quite easy to knit.

P.S. I completely forgot - this pattern is knitted in the round even easier.

3. Vertical English elastic band in a circle

The rules are simple: we change the color of the threads in each row, and we knit alternating only two rows (the number of loops is even)

  • Row 1 (color 1) – knit 1 (knit yarn over with a loop, counting them as one loop), yarn over, slip 1.
  • Row 2 (color 2) – 1 yarn over, 1 slip, 1 purl (purl we knit a yarn over with a loop, counting them as one loop).

Try it, I’m sure two-color English elastic with knitting needles, maybe in some cases, displacing , it will take its place in your collection of patterns.

If you want to try an interesting knitting, we suggest using a two-color English elastic band. It is ideal for knitting hats, snoods or cuffs on sweaters.
Alternating loops of different colors gives the product texture, and the knitting principle gives elasticity.
It is better to use two or more colors of yarn for a beautiful drawing of the pattern, and the product will be double-sided.
The base and pattern of one side is exactly repeated in a different color on the other. The product is double-sided.
You need to knit a two-color English rib using circular knitting needles or hosiery knitting needles that have 2 working ends.

Two-color English rib knitting. Beginning of work

We cast on loops on two knitting needles at once using the traditional cast-on of 29 loops using a light thread (Please note: in this pattern the number of loops to cast on is always odd). Try to knit loosely, not tightly.

1 row. We start knitting from the front side with a dark thread:
*knit 1, yarn over 1, slip 1* and so on until the end of the row.

2nd row. The wrong side is knitted with a light thread:
*1 yarn over, 1 slip, knit 1. (we knit a yarn over with a loop behind the front wall)* - to the end of the row.

3rd row. Again the wrong side, but when knitting we use a dark thread. In this case, we move the knitting to the opposite end of the knitting needle:
* 1 p. (we knit a yarn over with a loop behind the front wall), 1 yarn over, 1 slip* - to the end of the row.

4 row. Front side (light thread):
*1 yarn over, slip 1, purl 1. (purlwise knit yarn over with loop)* – repeat until the end of the row
5 row. Again the front side, but we use a dark thread in knitting.
*1 person (knit a yarn over with a loop together), 1 yarn over, remove 1 * - to the end of the row.

6th row. We continue to knit the elastic, repeating the pattern from the second row.

A simple knitting technique will help any beginner quickly cope with their intended work. The basic principle of knitting an English rib is not to knit too tightly. A product of this structure is fluffy, loose, and elastic, so it is not advisable to use edges of clothing.

English (patented) gum- This is an elastic band in knitting patterns that use yarn overs. At the same time, the cape does not form holes in the canvas, unlike openwork; on the contrary, capes give the canvas volume and splendor.

English rib knitting is quick and easy, we advise you to try it too.

Increasing, decreasing, or using a patent loop not in every row can transform the knitting to an extraordinary degree. Patent English loops knitted in different combinations and directions are called the brioche knitting technique.

Welcome to my blog, friends!

"English gum and the throne? What nonsense? - you will say after reading the title of my new post. And if you don’t, today we will still talk about her, about Her Highness - English gum!

You will learn how to knit different types of English elastic: two-color and three-color, with horizontal and vertical stripes, English elastic 1 x 1 and English elastic 2 x 2. Well, first we will look at why this elastic was “enthroned”!

Why such honors? Yes, everything is very simple. For all key queries in search engines, this elastic band is in the lead by a huge margin among all its no less attractive (and sometimes more!) fellow tribesmen.

Simply put, it is most often typed into search engines by Internet users, and now I will explain - WHY?

By the way, have you heard such an expression as? So, if you follow this link, you will learn something interesting about the English gum!

Well, let's try to tie her up?

English gum 1 x 1

In order to knit a sample of the English elastic pattern, cast on any even number of loops and start knitting (just not tightly):

  • 1 knit, 1 yarn over, 1 remove the loop and so on until the end of the row;
  • 2nd and all subsequent rows We knit in exactly the same way, only we knit a loop with a double crochet, taking them as one loop.

Difficult? I also think not. The main thing is to take your time and thoroughly understand the description.

Two-color and three-color English gum

Now let's try to connect two-color English elastic band with horizontal stripes using two colors of yarn. Knit it in the same way as a single-color one, only you need to alternate every two rows with a different color.

with horizontal stripes knits in a similar way. Really, it turns out cute?

Well, the two-color English elastic band with vertical stripes will take some work, but it’s worth it! This elastic band is very original, since it has sides of different colors - if you want, you make one side the front side, if you want, you do the other...

And the difficulty in knitting this “persona” is that it is performed only on knitting needles with two working ends (or on circular ones) by movement of the product from one edge of the knitting needle to the other.

Well, if your eyes are afraid, what are your hands doing?

We select threads that contrast in color (let’s call them dark and light) and agree that we will knit the odd rows dark thread (T), and even ones - light (WITH), the number of loops is any EVEN. Well, then we knit:

  • in the 1st row (T) - 1 knit, 1 yarn over, 1 remove the loop until the end of the row;
  • in the 2nd row (C) - 1 knit stitch (we use it to knit a double crochet stitch), Yarn over 1, slip 1, etc.;
  • in the 3rd row (T) - move the knitting to the other end of the knitting needle, and then knit: 1 Yarn over, 1 slip, 1 purl (we use it to knit a yarn over with a loop), etc.;
  • in the 4th row (C) - we knit in the same way as in the third row, only without moving;
  • in the 5th row (T) - move the knitting to the other end of the knitting needle, then knit: 1 knit stitch (this is a double crochet stitch), Yarn over 1, slip 1, etc.
  • in the 6th row (C) - we repeat everything with 2nd row.

Difficult? Only at the beginning. The main thing is to figure out what’s what, and then everything will go like clockwork.

All the elastic bands described above belong to the pattern English gum 1 x 1, but there is more English elastic band 2 x 2!

English elastic band 2 x 2

To link English gum 2 x 2, dial multiple 4 number of loops and 2 edge, and then we knit:

  • in the 1st row: * Knit 2, 1 yarn over, slip 1, and again 1 yarn over, 1 remove* (from* to* repeat until the end of the row;
  • in the 2nd row: * 2 knit stitches (these are double crochets), 1 yarn over, slip 1, 1 yarn over again, slip 1*, etc.
  • Then we repeat the 2nd row all the time.

And to get the same English elastic band, only two-color, you just need to change the colors every 2 rows.

English gum is good for everyone, but there is one (or two?) “BUT”:

  • The edges of clothes cannot be decorated with such an elastic band (it stretches a lot);
  • To prevent the English elastic from tightening the edges (initial and last), it is better to use a double thread when casting on loops and when closing them.

Phew, it seems like I told you everything I knew about this “majestic person”, and now you know how to knit different types of English elastic.

And if you, dear readers of my blog, have any other information about this elastic band, please share. I will be very grateful!

Today, my dear readers, we are opening a new section - Guest Posts. Our guest is the author of the wonderful blog “Creative Handicrafts”, Anna, who will teach us how to knit a patent two-color elastic band. Let's meet!!!

I live in a very colorful world. In my opinion, nothing brightens up a gray day the way bright things do. Just put on a scarf or hat in a cheerful shade and say goodbye to your bad mood!

But it is often difficult to limit yourself to one color... An excellent option is Scandinavian patterns. On the Internet you will find a lot of schemes of varying complexity, but today we will talk about something else. In addition to jacquard, there is another way to combine colors and knit vertical stripes.

Patent loops (in English Brioche Stitches) are very often used to create interesting projects in a two-color version, or to combine plain and melange yarn.

Knitting pattern for two-color patent elastic

This pattern is made with knitting needles on a fishing line or straight, which have two working ends. We cast on an odd number of loops.

1st row (right side of knitting): We work with the main thread. We knit: 2 persons. loops, *1 knit loop, 1 knit loop in the loop of the previous row*. We continue, repeating from * to *, 3 persons. loops and stretch the knitting needle to the beginning of the row.

2nd row (right side of knitting): We work with an additional thread. We knit 2 purl. loops, * 1 knit loop in the loop of the previous row, 1 knit loop, repeat from * to *, 1 knit loop in the loop of the previous row, 2 purl loops and turn the work.

3rd row (wrong side): We work with the main thread. Make 2 purl loops, *1 purl loop, 1 purl loop in the loop of the previous row*, repeat from * to *, 3 purl loops and return from the beginning of the row (stretch the knitting needle).

4th row (wrong side): We work with an additional thread. Make 2 knit loops, *1 purl loop in the loop of the previous row, 1 purl loop*, repeat from * to *, 1 purl loop in the loop of the previous row, 2 knit loops and turn the work.

Two-color English rib is ideal for knitting hats, snoods or cuffs on sweaters. Alternating loops of different colors gives the product texture, and the knitting principle gives elasticity.

The principle of knitting a two-color English rib is that the same row is knitted 2 times: once with a dark thread, the other time with a light thread.

Cast on an odd number of stitches on the needles.

1st row (dark thread):*knit 1, yarn over 1, slip 1 stitch*, repeat *-* until the end of the row.

2nd row (light thread):*1 yarn over, slip 1 p., knit 1 p. together with the yarn over*, repeat *-* until the end of the row.

3rd row (dark thread): move the knitting to the opposite end of the knitting needle, * knit 1 p. together with the yarn over, remove 1 yarn over, remove 1 stitch*, repeat *-* until the end of the row.

4th row (light thread):*1 yarn over, slip 1 p., knit 1 p. together with the yarn over*, repeat *-* until the end of the row.

5th row (dark thread): move the knitting to the opposite end of the knitting needle. *Knit 1 p. together with the yarn over, remove 1 yarn over, remove 1 stitch*, repeat *-* until the end of the row.

Repeat the pattern from the second row.
