Little dragon made of beads. A simple diagram and master class

To work, we will need about 5 grams of brown and 2-3 grams of yellow beads No. 8, 130 cm of wire. We select the thickness so that the wire in 2 folds passes freely through the beads.

Place 2 brown beads in the middle of the wire. We put 3 brown beads on one end of the wire, pass the second end through the beads towards the first and tighten. The result is the second row. Let's collect 3 yellow beads and pass through them with the second end of the wire. We arrange the rows in an “accordion” manner, all odd rows are the belly of the dragon, and even rows are the back. We weave rows 4 and 5 according to the pattern.

In row 6 we will make horns for the dragon. To do this, put 2 brown beads on one end of the wire, then another one, placing it at a distance of 0.5-1 cm. Holding the bead, twist the wire, as in the photo below; let's collect one more brown bead. On the second side, we will similarly collect beads and make a horn, and we will pass the wire through the beads collected at the first end of the wire. The first end of the wire will also pass through the beads collected at the second end. You will get a regular row, only in 2 places will our horns stick out. At this stage, you can twist them a little more, now it is much more convenient to do this. Next, we continue weaving according to the pattern, alternating the rows of the abdomen and back.

Let's make the front legs of our little dragon. To do this, after the 18th row of our pattern, we put 8 beads on one end of the wire, pass through 5 beads in the opposite direction, leaving 3 beads free. Let's move the collected beads closer to the body and tighten. Now the paw is ready. Let's make another one on the second side. And then the usual row of the belly: we collect 5 yellow beads on one end of the wire coming from one foot, and with the second end of the wire we pass towards them through the collected beads. Gently tighten. The animal may already run away, hold tight

In the next row we will make wings. They are performed in the center of the back row, just like the horns. So I won’t write about the design of this back row. The wing itself is made with yellow beads according to the diagram. We collect 10 beads, pass the wire in the opposite direction through the 9th bead. It turns out to be such a sharp “tooth” on the wing. Let's collect 4 more beads and pass the wire through the 3rd one. Similarly, we will make the 3rd “clove” on the wing.

After the 3rd clove, we will collect 6 more beads, and then we will go through the very first bead of the wing. Let's do the second wing in the same way. I came across a wire that was not very flexible and it broke at the wrong time. I had to hide the tips in the wing. If you look closely, you can see extra passages. I hope you have better luck and don’t have to bother with sealing up the extra ends, and the dragon will turn out neat and beautiful. The photo below shows how a row of backrests with woven wings is made.

Well, the new fairytale dragon made of beads is ready! What kind of dragon will you get?

The theme of fairy-tale dragons will probably never lose its relevance. If you just have beautiful plant elements or are a little bored, it’s worth trying to weave something original. There are several basic techniques for weaving a dragon from beads.

We suggest considering the most elegant method, which can then be used to create jewelry.

How to make a dragon from beads?

For work we will need beads of different sizes. One large bead is needed for the base; our beaded dragon will go around it. Two size 6 beads for the eyes, two colors of cylindrical beads, and two colors of beads sizes 11 and 15. For the body of our handmade dragon, we will use size 8 beads.

Well, now let’s move directly to the diagram of how to weave a dragon from beads:

The master class on how to make a dragon out of beads is completed and as a result you get a beautiful pendant for keys or a mobile phone, which can also be used as a pendant or part of a brooch.

Today we will devote our master classes to weaving dragons from beads using different techniques. Bright step-by-step photo lessons and detailed descriptions for them will appeal even to experienced needlewomen. Beginners will find useful patterns for correctly weaving crafts.

Dragon from the depths of the sea

To weave such a beautiful sea dragon, you will need some materials:

  • beads of blue, turquoise, blue, green, yellow, white and red;
  • marine decorative materials;
  • needle and thread, brush and container with PVA glue;
  • wire, paper with cotton wool.

Before you start weaving, you need to make a three-dimensional blank of a papier-mâché dragon. First of all, we perform the body of the dragon. We twist paper balls, which are connected to each other with paper strips soaked in glue. Take a brush and coat each section separately. The tail and neck can be made from long tubes, which are layered on top with several layers of paper. For the paws you need a wire from which you twist the approximate shape of the paws, and again cover everything with paper. The most important thing you should do is to saturate the craft well with glue. After complete drying, we move on to the next stage of the master class.

We start weaving from the top of the dragon's head. Close the first strip made of several colors of beads into a ring: scarlet, white and blue. Then continue working in mosaic technique. Thus, it is necessary to braid the upper part of the head. As you approach the nose, start making decreases without weaving in one bead at a time.

The bottom of the dragon's head is done in a similar way, only without the use of blue glass. Braid the entire head of the dragon, adding and subtracting beads in those places where the craft requires it. Choose your own color scheme.

Don't waste time on small elements. The eyes, ears and teeth of the dragon can be made after the entire weaving of the body, or rather at the very end. Otherwise, during operation, you may damage these miniature parts.

Now we braid the neck. Make increases every third or fifth row. When you get to the body, move on to weaving the legs. All work follows the same pattern, again with decreases.

When you reach the elbow of the paws, perform increases, and closer to the toes, begin to decrease. White, blue and green beads are used here.

Black beads are used in weaving fingers, making a ring of four pieces of glass, which are securely attached at the end.

We prepare the second leg in the same way. As you continue to weave the body, do not forget about the increases, which we begin to reduce closer to the tail. The tail is woven from yellow beads, and the body from blue. Having completed most of the work, return to the formation of small, but no less important details.

We form the teeth from several white beads, as shown in the photo. After that we move on to the eyes and eyelids of the dragon.

Where the nose is located, you need to make nostrils and several antennae. The horns can be made from rice, and the sides of the head can be decorated with shells, as shown in the photo.

Decorate the tail with seashells too. That's all! The beaded dragon is completely ready. And he doesn’t look scary at all, but on the contrary, kind and cheerful.

Black dragon "Night Fury" made of beads

This master class uses a little less material than the previous one. Therefore you need to prepare:

  • fishing line;
  • black beads;
  • two beads from which the eyes will be made;
  • glass beads

We start weaving from the head. We string forty-four beads and close them into a ring. We weave three rows using the mosaic technique. Diagram number one shows that you need to make 2 triangles, decreasing the beads, as shown in diagrams two and three. We would like to warn you right away that the third method is the simplest. The smaller triangle should be made from 8 rubles, and the larger one from 11 rubles. with one not completely woven, as it will connect the dragon's face.

After we have made the muzzle, we begin to weave the eyes from large beads. Study the diagram and follow it. The line can run not only along, but also across the main element. The main thing is to ensure that the beads fall exactly into the eyeballs.

Continuing to weave the head, you need to make four stripes according to Fig. No. 6. We weave ears using the Ndebele technique. The smaller ones consist of 3 rows, and the larger ones consist of 7 rows. Your reference point is diagram No. 7. Sew the finished ears to the head.

We continue to do mosaic weaving with a decrease in a row four times, as shown in Figure 8. We decrease 2 times on one side of the neck and on the other to avoid the appearance of bulging places. Weave a new strip as usual, and in the next one again decrease it four times. Another 8 rubles. and the neck is finished.

The body is even easier to weave. Increase 4 times in symmetry, then an even row, increase again and again no change.

The tail is woven like this: four simple stripes, a new one with a decrease, again four regular rows, and again a decrease. Weave until the dragon's tail becomes thin at the end. Make the tip of the tail according to scheme No. 10 using the Ndebele technique. Make 2 columns, the first of 10 rows, and the other of 9 rows. Then connect the columns using the mosaic technique, as shown in Figure 10. Weave the fin on the tail in the same way.

The paws weave along the figure. 11, and then add a strip of large beads and continue working in the Ndebele style. Make the claws according to drawing No. 12. The finished paws are sewn to the body at an equal distance from each other.

All that remains is to make the dragon wings. This will require twenty rows of large beads using the Ndebele technique. As you go, use more base material. Make a bend and collect two beads from one end and one from the other. Weave six more strips, one glass for the tip, and come back through 2 beads at the place where the wing fabric will go. Take small pieces of glass and work with them according to pattern No. 14. Sew the wings in the place where the pattern of large beads was located.

Handmade is gaining popularity every day. One of its options is beading. Handmade crafts can become a bright interior decoration or an original gift. You can make the most unusual products from beads - from butterflies and flowers to fairy-tale creatures. For example, weaving a dragon from beads is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. The main thing is to arm yourself with patience and stock up on the necessary materials.

Before you start creating a craft, you need to decide on the method of manufacturing the product and purchase the necessary materials. To work you will need:

  • beads (transparent, blue and light blue);
  • wire cutters;
  • special wire for beading with a thickness of no more than 0.5 mm (3 m will be enough);
  • round nose pliers.

To make a cute dragon, you need to work using the parallel weaving method. To create the body, rows need to be done from bottom to top, and after that - vice versa. If you do everything correctly, you will get a three-dimensional figure without stuffing. The body and head will be voluminous, and the wings will be flat. The general diagram of weaving a dragon from beads is shown in the picture:

Thanks to the step-by-step master class, making a dragon from beads according to the pattern will not be difficult even for beginners. Weaving should begin not from the head, but from the nose, smoothly moving to the body and tail.

The dragon's paws need to be made separately. The odd rows will act as the belly of the animal, and the even rows will form the back.

Particular attention should be paid to working with the wings. Detailed diagrams of each part will help you make them beautifully. First, a base is created for the wings, which is then carefully filled. The greatest difficulties can arise when trying to hide the ends of the wire, so it is better to immediately take a long piece so that you have to hide them less. Detailed diagrams of the tail and wings:

Head and torso

To make the head, you first need to take a wire 1.2 m long. String blue beads on one of its ends (6 pieces are required). The beads should be placed in the middle of the wire. From the second end, thread 3 more beads towards the first tip. The result should be a wire loop.

Then you need to continue weaving the head. To do this, you need to take larger beads, choosing their color as desired. To make the dragon very angry, you can use red beads. For making ears you need to collect beads in the following sequence: two light, one dark, three light and five dark. Skip the last ones in the row and thread the next four pieces with the end of the wire.

After performing the described manipulations, the dragon's ear should form. Then you need to pick up a dark bead and two light ones. Pass the second end of the wire through the following sequence of beads: two light ones, transparent, then three light ones. Proceed to weaving the second ear. Collect five transparent beads, then thread the base through four of them, as in the first case. Then insert the tip of the wire through the clear bead and two blue ones. The row is over.

When weaving the body, you should try to immediately round the corners, directing even rows down and odd rows up. These steps must be completed to create the volume. The rows should be made as even as possible. If you get dents, it will be very difficult to fix them later. You can use padding or templates to give it shape, then the resulting product will be voluminous and will not wrinkle.

Animal paws

It's enough to just make the dragon's legs. They must be made using the flat weaving method. To do this, string a white bead onto one end of the wire, thereby marking the claw. Then string blue beads and thread the second tip of the wire through them in the same direction as the first. Assemble beads of different colors as follows:

  • blue;
  • white;
  • Thread the wire through the blue one again.

After this, you need to string one transparent bead, two blue ones, then thread the end of the wire back and round it around the white bead. According to this pattern, it is necessary to weave the required number of rows. If the legs turn out to be too long, they can be shortened and thickened by gathering the beads with an accordion.

dragon wings

To give an animal wings, you need to perform a number of manipulations. First you need to create a base. They start making it from the first bone, which should be the longest. To do this, you need to string 50 rows, the width of each is measured by one bead. Then assemble the rows into an accordion. After this, you need to weave 31 rows into one bead. Connect the resulting parts. Take one end from each weave and create an additional row between them, 37 beads long.

If the product is being made by a beginner, then it is better to take a new piece of wire each time. With the advent of experience, such a need will disappear by itself.

Then you need to collect beads in such a way as to make a long piece of 25 pieces. After this, you need to weave 17 rows of two beads each and assemble everything with an accordion. To continue working, you need to use one end of the wire, on which you collect six beads, and then thread it through the third and fourth beads.

Re-pass the tip of the wire through the row, pointing it at the first and second beads. The direction should be done in the same way as when dialing on the base. Pass the second tip of the wire through the penultimate row. Continue weaving at both ends. There should be 19 rows, each of which will have two beads. Connect all the made bones, cutting off the excess ends. Once assembled, you should have the frame of a dragon wing.

To avoid any more ponytails, you need to work with one end of the wire. Place 6 beads on it and pass the end through the third and fourth beads. Then pass the tip of the wire through the first and second beads in the direction of their initial set on the wire. Visually you should get 3 woven rows. Pass the second tip of the wire through the penultimate row, and then continue weaving on two ends. The result should be 19 rows of 2 beads each.

You need to connect the structure together, hiding the extra ends. Now you can start decorating the wings. They are usually also made from wire, but many end up breaking it. An alternative can be a fishing line and a needle. As when working with wire, you need to hook between the rows of bones using a fishing line, and then dial the required number of rows according to the pattern. The end result will be much more convenient and faster.

The only disadvantage of this method is that the fishing line is soft. Because of this, the rows may sag. It is recommended to tighten tightly to ensure an even, stretched fabric. The wing is ready. The second part should be made in a similar way, and then proceed to assembly. To do this, you need to thread the ends of the wire in the paws through the beads into the body, hiding the ends. The diagram shows the rows through which manipulations need to be carried out. In the end, all that remains is to secure the wings.

Assembly of the entire structure

To make a dragon from beads for a beginner, you need to thread the ends of the legs through the beads into the body (the diagram shows the rows for this). Carefully secure everything and hide the ends. Now the structure is almost ready, you need to attach the wings to it. To do this, the second end of the wire can be hidden, since only one of them is needed in the future. Assemble the beads gradually, hook the wire alternately to the wing and the arc on the body.

Making a three-dimensional dragon from beads with your own hands is not as difficult as it might seem at first. By following the step-by-step instructions, even a novice craftsman can make a nice craft on his own. Having gained experience, you can easily make other animals - a lizard, a crocodile or a snake.

Before you start work, you need to decide on the color scheme. According to the described scheme, you can combine any colors. It is allowed to use different shades of the same color or contrasting beads.

The main thing is to arm yourself with patience and desire, and the enthusiastic reviews of others from the finished product will not take long to arrive.

In this master class I will show you how to make a beaded dragon with your own hands. This dragon looks very attractive, and it is not difficult to create - you just need to decide what color your dragon will be and stick to the pattern during the weaving process.

I wove my dragon in red and gold. To weave it you will need:

  • Czech seed beads No. 10 in three colors – red, gold and black.
  • Wire with a diameter of 0.3 mm.

There are many options for weaving dragons from beads, but I offer the easiest one so that not only an experienced craftswoman, but also a beginner, as well as children, can weave a dragon.

Below is the basic pattern for weaving a dragon from beads.

Body weaving pattern

  • Row 1: 1 red bead.
  • Row 2: 2 cr.
  • Row 3: 3 cr.
  • Row 4: 1 red, 1 black, 1 red, 1 black, and 1 red.
  • Row 5: 5 cr.
  • Rows 6, 7 and 8: 3 cr each.
  • Row 9: 4 rows.
  • Front paws: 4 red, 3 gold per paw.
  • Row 10: 4 cr.
  • Row 11: 5 cr.
  • Row 12: 6 cr.
  • Row 13: 5 cr.
  • Row 14: 4 cr.
  • Hind legs: 4 red, 3 gold each.
  • Row 15: 4 cr.
  • Rows 16 and 17: 3 cr each.
  • Rows 18, 19 and 20: 2 cr each.
  • Row 21 and 22: 1 cr each.

Decoding of the scheme: kr is a red bead, zl is a gold bead.

Take a piece of wire 52 cm long and string 3 red beads onto it. Having placed them in the middle and holding one bead, we pass the end of the wire in the opposite direction through 2 beads (as if forming a loop) and tighten it well.

In the fourth row we add black beads - these are the dragon's eyes.

After the ninth row we make the front legs of the dragon. First, string 4 red and 3 gold beads onto one end of the wire. We hold the gold beads and pass the wire in the opposite direction through the tap beads. We move everything close to the dragon’s body and pull the wire to the end.

We do the same on the other side of the dragon’s body.

And again we continue to weave according to the described pattern.

After the fifteenth row, we make the hind legs on both sides in the same way as the first ones.

When we have finished weaving, we fix the ends of the wires on the sides, thread them between the rows, and cut off the excess.

Beaded dragon wings

We weave the wings, like the body, in parallel weaving according to the following pattern:

  • Row 1: 1 cr.
  • Row 2: 1 red, 1 gold.
  • Row 3: 1 cr., 2 zloty.
  • Row 4: 1 cr., 3 zloty.
  • Row 5: 1 cr., 2 zloty.
  • Row 6: 1 cr., 4 zlotys.
  • Row 7: 1 cr., 3 zloty.
  • Row 8: 1 cr., 2 zloty.
  • Row 9: 1 cr.

You need to make 2 wings.

Assembly

Now the wings need to be attached to the body. You need to take one wing and pass its wires between 9–10 and 10–11 rows. Then cross them and thread them lengthwise between the rows. We cut off the remaining wire.

We attach the second wing on the other side in exactly the same way.

Note! The wings should be positioned with gold beads towards the side of the tail.

We adjust the paws as in the photo - the front ones up, the back ones down. We raise the wings. The dragon is made from beads!

This cute little beaded dragon can be used as a keychain.
