The scheme of folding the boat. We make a boat, a sailboat and a boat out of paper with our own hands. Paper boat master class

Survey

All kids love to float boats on the water. If you do not know how to make a paper boat for a child or want to make a paper boat with him, our article will help you with this.

We will consider the most interesting and simple options that can only be made using paper using the origami method, using diagrams and step-by-step instructions.

In order to make a simple paper boat with your own hands, you will need the very minimum amount of materials at hand. Or rather, just paper. It can be either colored paper or a regular sheet from a school notebook.

simple paper boat

Prepare a sheet of paper. It is very good if it is an A4 sheet - then the boat will turn out to be large, dense, and, of course, stable. This means that it will stay afloat for a long time and still defeat the opponent.

The steps to create a paper boat are as follows:

Fold the prepared paper in half. Place it with the folded side up and fold it in half again.

  1. Bend the upper corners at a right angle towards the center.
  2. Bend all free edges of the sheet up on both sides.
  3. Carefully tuck all loose corners inward. You will get a triangle.
  4. Bring the corners at the base of the shape together. This should make a square.
  5. Bend the bottom corners of the square on both sides so that you again get a triangle.
  6. Bring the corners at its base together - get a square. Take it by the upper corners and gently pull it to the sides until the figure is fully opened and the boat is complete.
  7. Flatten the sides of the boat for maximum stability.

It’s better to figure out how to make this boat, a visual diagram will help you:

Congratulations, a simple paper boat is ready! If you wish, you can paint it with pencils, felt-tip pens and paints, and even make additional applications on the walls. And handmade small masts, sails and flags, carefully placed on board, will certainly delight children and make the boat even better. Playing with such a paper friend is a pleasure!

For greater clarity, we suggest you watch a short video that shows in detail the process of creating a paper boat with your own hands

The process of creating a twin-pipe boat is not as complicated as it might seem. You will again need a familiar sheet of paper and an additional tool - scissors.

So, in order to make a two-pipe boat, you will need:

    1. Bend the lower left corner of the sheet of paper so that its upper side lies completely on the right. Cut off the excess part. Having unfolded the sheet completely, you will see a square in front of you.
    2. Since one fold line already exists on it, it is necessary to make a second one that intersects with it. To do this, the square should be bent diagonally.
    3. Bend all four corners towards the center to get a small square.
    4. Turn the resulting figure with bent corners down. Then repeat the third paragraph - bend all corners to the center.

  1. A square sheet of paper (it is easy to make it from a rectangular one by bending one of the corners and cutting off the excess) must be bent along the central axis and diagonals in such a way as to get 16 small squares.
  2. Bend all four corners of the square towards the center, and then align the two edges of the workpiece with each other and with the center.
  3. Do the same procedure for all corners. Turn the workpiece over and bend it in half diagonally.
  4. Connect the small triangles on the right side of the figure to each other. They will appear as a sail.

Second way

This method is traditional for the Japanese. To implement it, you will need:

  1. Take a square piece of paper and fold it diagonally.
  2. Two corners along the center line are also gently bent.
  3. Next, you need to bend the bottom corner and combine it with the top, thus forming a horizontal line.
  4. The two sides along the axial vertical line are also bent.
  5. Gently bend the side with an obtuse angle and bend it at an angle of 90 degrees to the horizontal sheet.
  6. For greater persuasiveness, bend the vertical sheet a little on the sides.

Japanese ship - the sailboat is ready!

Usually, a sailboat is advised to be made of colored paper, because this way it is much brighter and more beautiful. Don't forget to paint and decorate it however you like, and make a few more like it. After all, the more of them, the more interesting.

The process of creating a paper boat - a sailboat is shown in the following video

paper boat

The scheme for creating a boat is also simple and takes only a few minutes. You will only need patience, accuracy and care.

In order to create a boat-boat out of paper, you need quite a bit of time and effort. Fold A4 sheet in half first along and then across. Pay close attention to the fact that the closed edges should be on top.

The next step involves working with the corners - the top ones need to be folded to the center line, and the top and bottom edges, which are currently open, are folded up.

Then you need to bend the triangle. As soon as you do this, you will have a square in front of you, the bottom corners of which are open. Now fold the front and back corners up.

From the resulting triangle, again make a square. Now slowly pull the ends of the upper corners of the square in different directions, and a real paper boat will appear in front of you.

From a sheet of plain paper, you can create various crafts. For example, fold a boat and send it on a short trip to a lake or a small body of water. While doing this, people did not think that they would learn the basics of origami. To make a boat out of paper, you need to fold it in a certain way, following the detailed instructions.

Even toddlers can handle this craft.

A simple boat made of A4 paper

The manufacturing technique resembles the creation of a paper airplane. The master class begins with the selection of paper. It is better to take the usual A4. Office sheets are quite dense and they are white, they make it possible to color the finished craft at your discretion.

Instruction:

  1. Turn A4 over, bend it, but not completely, but only by marking a corner from above. Expand again. The place of the fold is clearly visible.
  2. Focusing on this line, first bend the left corner of the sheet to the center. Swipe your finger over the place of bending, fixing the result.
  3. Fold the right corner in the same way.
  4. Now fold one of the bottom free edges up until it reaches the bottom edge of the previously folded corners.
  5. Fold the second edge in the same way, but on the other side of the ship. Got a paper hat.
  6. Secure the edges by forming small corners, guided by the pattern. Do this with both edges.
  7. A small triangular pocket appeared inside the blank. Open it and fold the product following the opposite fold lines.
  8. Again you get a pocket, only a square shape. Now carefully bend the free edge, only diagonally. Repeat this with the second same edge.
  9. Take both edges of the workpiece and gently stretch. Ready! The classic boat is ready.

Boat in origami technique

You can make a small boat out of paper. It is enough to follow the pictures, reflecting the phased manufacturing process. The technique is simple, even a child can handle it.

Instruction:

  1. Fold the paper in half exactly, swipe along the fold line to mark it. Expand the sheet. Fold both sides together again.
  2. Gently fold inward all 4 corners of the craft. You will get four small folded corners. Bend them one by one again, as shown in figure 4. The blank looks like a long flat boat with two long edges.
  3. Bend the corners on the side inward and turn over. The boat with a small deck is ready.

Instead of white A4 sheets, you can take a newspaper or notebook sheet.

Ship - sailboat made of paper

You can make an origami boat and add sails to it. You get a real sailboat - a sea wanderer.

What you need: a rectangular sheet of paper.

Instruction:

  1. Fold it vertically in half, press firmly and unfold it back. Press both edges to the straight fold line formed in the middle.
  2. Wrap the upper part step by step, then the lower one inward, towards the center. Get a square. Press firmly, now turn back.
  3. Looking at the dotted lines in the indicated diagram, turn the corners from below one by one and align the folds so that a real trapezoid comes out. Do the same with the top two corners.
  4. Turn the piece over. Fold it following the lines. Press firmly and carefully unfold the finished origami ship - a sailboat.

Steamboat with two pipes

Detailed instructions with drawings will help to make a real two-pipe motor ship. The finished craft can be painted, turning the ship into either a dangerous pirate ship or a military one. Depends on design features. If the finished craft is treated with paraffin, he will be able to swim for a long time.

What will be required:

  • sheet of paper (preferably thick);
  • scissors;
  • paints / pencils (color the finished product if you make it from white paper).

Step-by-step instruction:

To make a boat out of paper, first fold a rectangular sheet and carefully cut off the remaining edge. Got a square.

  1. Bend it again diagonally, press the fold line more tightly. Expand. Folds are visible on the paper.
  2. Bend one corner inward, pulling towards the center. Now bend all other corners in the same way. Get a square.
  3. Turn it over and bend all its corners one by one, as you did before.
  4. Turn the workpiece over again and bend the resulting corners more evenly, directing their ends towards the center.
  5. Turn the piece over. There is no need to bend the corners. Carefully unfold one pocket.
  6. Also expand the second pocket opposite. Now straighten the workpiece. Excellent! Volumetric ship is ready. Expanded pockets - two large pipes of the vessel.

It remains only to color it so that the ship is colored.

colored paper boat

Colored paper is also suitable for making boats. The main thing is to pick up dense sheets. You need 1 sheet per craft. This master class will help you create a large double-deck steamer.

Instruction:

  1. Lay down the paper and mark two lines there, horizontal, now vertical.
  2. Bend the bottom half of the sheet exactly in half. Now turn the piece over.
  3. Start folding both edges of the figure inward to a vertical straight line in the center.
  4. Open the corners from the bottom of the workpiece, they will be the side of the future ship.
  5. Gently fold the top half in half and immediately fold it up, following the photo.
  6. Bend the side corners of the workpiece.
  7. Open the figure, now following the lines outlined earlier, fold the edges of the top of the boat to the center.
  8. Turn the piece over. All is ready.

How to protect a paper boat from flooding

Having understood how to make a paper boat, it is now important to find out how you can protect your ship. After all, you want to test the finished ship in action, and paper boats, unfortunately, quickly get wet and sink!

Helpful Hints:

  1. Use thick paper instead of newspaper or napkins. Best of all - regular A4 or landscape sheets.
  2. Following the step-by-step scheme, make a boat out of paper. Do not overload it with parts, otherwise the vessel will capsize.
  3. Treat the bottom of the craft with petroleum jelly. The substance repels liquid, preventing the ship from getting wet.

Can paper be replaced with cardboard? If it's thin, yes. Thick cardboard is more difficult to fold and the finished figures are sloppy. The origami technique involves numerous folding and unfolding of the figure. Therefore, it is more convenient to use plain paper. For example, office A4 sheets.

Are dimensions important? Small boats look better. Moreover, they are easier to make. Larger dimensions require more paper. You can glue several A4 sheets or take A3, but if you make a simple boat, you need to supplement it with details. Beautifully colorize, insert figures of people - passengers. But to let such a ship into a real voyage is certainly more interesting.

Since childhood, we know the lines from the song "I'm Leading a Boat on a Fast River", which pushed us to make paper crafts. When we were very young, the simple movements of our parents, who turned white sheets into a vessel, took our breath away and delighted. Of course, childhood passes, and few people today remember how to make a boat out of paper.

Paper products are so unusual and beautiful that they simply intrigue and take your breath away. Origami has long gained great popularity among people of different ages and nationalities. On the Internet you can find detailed instructions for making animals, techniques, flowers and other types of origami.

If you delve more into the technique, you can discover many varieties of boats and options for their manufacture. Let's take a step-by-step look at how to make a boat out of paper.

Before you start studying the instructions and collecting crafts, you need to thoroughly prepare. Indeed, in any business, the most important thing is the preparation and availability of material with tools. The list of required components will change based on the model of the boat that you will be making.

Before starting work, prepare the following tools and components.

  1. Several sheets of A4 paper. If desired, you can use colored sheets, but they must be dense enough.
  2. Scissors. It is advisable to use small and sharp paper scissors. In the absence of scissors, a clerical knife may be suitable.
  3. PVA glue. Do not use glue stick, as it leaves marks and is too dense. It is advisable to use a simple liquid PVA glue.
  4. Glue brush. Use a small brush, pick up so that it can be dipped into the glue.
  5. Thin wire. For comfortable work, take aluminum wire of small diameter (thin), it has sufficient flexibility and strength. You can also use steel wire.
  6. Big needle. The so-called "gypsy" needle, it can be found, for example, with a grandmother.

Having prepared all the components, you can get to work. The required material will vary depending on the boat model. For convenience, we will additionally report what exactly you need so that you can thoroughly prepare.

Main ideas and schemes

There are several popular ways to make a paper boat. We offer to consider the five most popular and different in complexity crafts.

  1. So, the first option is, of course, a “simple boat”, the easiest to manufacture and the most common.
  2. In second place, we put the “ship with a sail”, which brings the feeling of a full-fledged, real ship sailing in the wind.
  3. A well-deserved third place goes to the "ship with a pipe", it looks like a real ship that carries cargo or passengers.
  4. We decided to give the fourth place to the “two-pipe boat”, resembling a military cruiser, which guards the coastal waters of its state.
  5. And, finally, the fifth place is probably taken by the most beautiful, but also the most difficult - the so-called "volumetric boat".

But first things first. Consider in turn the manufacturing schemes for each model on our list.

simple boat

To make a simple boat, you only need an A4 sheet. We take the sheet in hand and adhere to the scheme of work.

  1. Lay the sheet horizontally and fold it in half from right to left. We unfold the sheet in a horizontal position and repeat the movement.
  2. From the last position, turn the sheet back. Please note that we fold two times, and unfold only one.
  3. We bend the upper corners inward, towards the center. That is, we bend two corners to the center line resulting from the bend.
  4. We bend the lower part up, the place of the bend coincides with the edges of the bent corners. Small “ears” will remain on both sides of the workpiece, we bend them to the back of the product. We turn the workpiece over and repeat the procedure.
  5. Having opened the pocket that was formed from below, we change the place of the bend to the central points of the figure. You should get a rhombus in front of you.
  6. Step back about 2 cm from the top corner of the diamond and put a dot there. Grasp the bottom corner of the figure and bend it up to the point. Turn the figure over and repeat the procedure.
  7. Open the workpiece and change the bending angles in the same way as in step 5.
  8. Grasp the side corners that protrude along the edges of the figure and pull them in different directions. A beautiful boat will begin to form in your hands.

To make a boat with a sail, you will need a sheet of A4 paper, wire, scissors, a needle, glue and two paper blanks (3 * 3 cm, 12 * 5 cm). The step-by-step algorithm includes the following steps.

  1. We make a “simple boat”, according to the diagram above.
  2. With a needle we make a hole in the top of the triangle of the ship.
  3. We pass the wire through the hole and bend it from below so that it holds.
  4. We make a sail from a 12 * 5 blank. We pierce two holes at the top and bottom in order to thread the wire.
  5. We make a flag from a 3 * 3 blank, wrapping it around the top of the wire, glue it together.
  6. Cut out a triangle in the flag with scissors. You should get two cloves.
  7. We straighten all the details, and the boat is ready to sail!

For manufacturing, you will need an A4 sheet and scissors. If you use one-sided colored paper, the craft will turn out much prettier. The algorithm is presented below.

  1. We make a square from a sheet of paper, cut off the excess part.
  2. We fold the sheet twice diagonally so that the center and two lines across are visible.
  3. We bend the upper corner to the middle (fold lines).
  4. We retreat from the upper part about two centimeters and along this line, holding on to the end of the bent corner, we unbend it back.
  5. We also retreat two centimeters and bend the upper corner back. You should get three folds with the same difference at the top of the figure.
  6. We bend the figure from left to right in half along the existing fold line.
  7. From the bottom of the figure we measure about 2/3 of the resulting size and visually draw a line. Holding the inside of the lower pocket, we unfold the edges of the figure up, close to the main part.
  8. We enjoy a wonderful boat with a pipe!

Double-pipe boat

For manufacturing, you will need, as in the previous model, an A4 sheet and scissors. The step-by-step algorithm includes several important steps.

  1. We make a square from a sheet, cut off the excess part.
  2. Fold the sheet twice diagonally so that you can see the center and two lines across.
  3. We bend all four corners to the center, as a result we get a square.
  4. Turn the square over and repeat the procedure, fold the corners to the middle.
  5. We repeat the steps of paragraph 4, that is, we bend the corners three times.
  6. Flip the item. We unbend two corners opposite each other, forming pipes.
  7. For the inner parts of the corners, we begin to unbend the model, at the same time folding it in half.
  8. Bend all the parts and get a great two-pipe boat!

To make a voluminous boat, in our case it will be a sailboat, you only need scissors and paper. How to fold a voluminous paper boat?

  1. Prepare a square, as in the previous two options.
  2. Fold it diagonally. Unfold and fold in half.
  3. Unfold again and fold in half to the other side, straighten again.
  4. Those corners on which there are no fold lines, bend to the center.
  5. Fold the left corner towards the center as well.
  6. Step back from the left edge about two centimeters and bend the corner back along this line.
  7. Fold the figure in half, but at the same time bend the left corner inward.
  8. In the resulting figure, bend the right corner up.
  9. Fold the bottom corner up. The folded corner will serve as a stand for the sailboat.
  10. Straighten the inner corners, and the voluminous sailboat is ready!

In order to get a beautiful boat the first time, start with the simplest scheme, this will give you an understanding of what the basic principles of paper craft modeling are based on, which will help in more complex schemes.

Using colored paper will make your product more interesting and brighter. Before sailing, you can attach a thin layer of foam to the “bottom” of the boat, this will significantly extend its service life and improve the ability to “navigate”.

Using cardboard instead of paper will increase the strength of your models and make them more stable in the water.

For the manufacture of more complex schemes of the boat, you can not do without photo and video tips. Viewing the master class allows you not to spend extra time reading.

Conclusion

There are quite a few models of boats, we have considered the most popular and simple of the proposed variety. Having completed all five models in two or three color options, you can get a whole fleet and pleasantly surprise your child's friends.

By teaching your kid to make paper crafts on his own, you will spend time with benefit and be able to distract him from his usual gadget at least for a while. And having shown his skills and ready-made boats to his friends, he will be able to arrange sea battles in the street in the company.

Mother of two children. I have been running a household for more than 7 years - this is my main job. I like to experiment, I constantly try various means, methods, techniques that can make our life easier, more modern, richer. I love my family.

Surely every adult folded paper boats in childhood. But childhood has passed and many have forgotten how to make paper boats with their own hands. Now, having your own children of preschool and primary school age, it is time to remember how to make this wonderful spring craft. We will tell you how to make a paper boat according to the simplest pattern familiar to you. And we will show several schemes that will surprise even experienced "sailors".
