Adalind Koss

For any girl, hair plays an important role. The hairstyle helps you look cute, sexy or feminine. At the same time, the shade of your hair has a significant impact on your appearance. Some people think the natural color is inexpressive, while others have to dye their hair because of gray hair.

But you can’t guarantee that the new look won’t get boring after a couple of months, in which case the problem of dyeing your hair arises. Of course, you want the color change to happen quickly and the shade to be the desired one.

Mistakes when dyeing hair

When dyeing our hair at home, we can make many mistakes. When dyeing your hair, it results in the wrong color and also harms your locks. It is important to know how to choose a color. Of course, coloring by a professional is always better, but frequent procedures are not affordable for everyone, so people resort to home manipulations. So, the main mistakes:

It is a mistake to think that after dyeing you will get a shade identical to the shade of the curls on the package. The result of painting will depend on the original color. To do this, it is important to look at the shade chart on the back of the pack.

Painting without allergy testing.

All paint manufacturers advise testing for allergic reactions. The area needs to be taken on the inside of the elbow, behind the neck or behind the ear. The reaction manifests itself as inflammation, irritation, and possible hair loss.

Using paint without pre-staining.

A big mistake is to dye all your curls at once. Select an inconspicuous strand and check the result on it.

Do not repeat common mistakes, do not violate the instructions, then your curls will suffer minimal damage from coloring.

Use conditioner before painting.

Do not apply conditioner before painting. Just wash your hair with shampoo. The problem is that there should be no free radicals on the curls before dyeing, but it is better not to wash the curls a day before dyeing.

Applying dyes to tangled, dirty hair with traces of styling products.

A month before painting, systematically. Before dyeing, wash your hair and cut off dry ends.

Increase dyeing time.

Overexposure of paint (longer than the instructions advise) is fraught with negative consequences. If the dyeing time is exceeded, the technology is violated. The paints have different compositions: gentle formulas, as well as long-lasting shades. It is especially scary to overexpose the dye when bleaching your hair.

Such compositions are characterized by extremely powerful cleansing properties. Special lines of anti-dandruff shampoos have been created for colored hair.

How to dye black hair

It doesn’t matter whether the shade comes from nature or was obtained after dyeing; redying black hair is not easy. There are 2 ways: expensive and time-consuming, and cheap. But remember that you won’t be able to change the shade in one painting.

If you are a supporter of the first method, then you will need the services of an experienced colorist. He is able to choose the most gentle way, based on the structure of the hair. You may be offered gradual lightening. After each procedure, the curls will become a couple of tones lighter. The complete color change will take 1-3 months, depending on the final shade.

Black curls are difficult to lighten. To carry out such a manipulation, many procedures will be required. A sudden change from dark to light is fraught with negative consequences for hair.

Another option is frequent coloring. First, the hair is bleached, then the strands are dyed in different shades. This path makes it possible to smoothly transition from a dark color to the desired one. After each manipulation, the number of dark strands is reduced.

The cheap method is suitable for independent use. It requires r and beer. Of course, to obtain a tangible result, you will need to carry out these manipulations systematically over several months. The advantage of this type of hair dyeing is not only bleaching, but also the treatment of curls.

In addition, there is the option of painting in other shades, moving to the desired color. But this method will require about 6-12 months, it will bring a minimum of negative effects to the curls.

How to dye red hair

These pigments “sit” very deep, just like black ones. But they are rapidly losing their brightness. If this color is natural for you, then you can change it by. Otherwise, the result will be yellowish, and rust will appear through the dark shades. The problem of dying red hair does not only arise when using black. It completely neutralizes red.

If your curls turn red after dyeing, you will have to use a remover before changing the color. After the first manipulations, the hair becomes yellow, so you need to resort to tinting. The wash must be repeated until the shade becomes uniform, without yellow impurities. Then it's time to use the paint and get the desired shade. These manipulations can be done at home. But remember the important points. Keep lightening colors on your curls for a certain period of time, which is why you need to apply them quickly. In addition, it is important to achieve uniform distribution of the wash, otherwise you will end up with patchy hair.

How to dye blonde hair

In fact, dyeing blonde hair is much easier than other hair because you don't have to bleach it. But here, too, there are tricks that should be taken into account to obtain the required color. In a situation with light-colored hair, they are fundamental.

First of all, the chosen shade should match your skin color. If it is warm toned, then choose paint with gold, bronze and caramel shades. For cool-toned skin, opt for paint with an ashy tint.

As for coloring and monochromatic dyeing, it all depends on the shape of the hairstyle. For short haircuts with a strict shape, a single color dye is suitable. It will enhance the laconicism of the image.

It's easiest to change the color of your locks in lighter shades, but it's important to remember to choose the right color. Follow the instructions and advice of professionals.

If you have curly or long hair, you like to do braids or buns, then choose coloring. It will give your hair lightness and structure. Blondes with pale skin can safely choose dark tones. This gives the image expressiveness. If such changes scare you at once, then do coloring. This way the color change will become gradual, you will have time to get used to the image.

If you want to lighten your light brown locks, then feel free to choose any colors in the shade “light blond” or “blonde”. This will help you easily change the color. But it is important that the shade matches your skin color.

Caring for colored hair

The use of any paint will not go without a trace. Suitable care for colored hair is required, because it suffers from depletion, fragility, split ends and skin irritations:

The less often you wear makeup, the more beneficial it is for your hair. For this reason, it is necessary to maintain the shade for as long as possible. It is worth using special lines of funds;
change the image in salons. Professionals will not only select the required color, but will also make every effort to minimize negative consequences;
You should not perform different procedures at the same time. Curling, dyeing or straightening must be done separately, not in one day. The minimum interval is 2 weeks before painting or 2 weeks after it;

Do not use excessively hot air to dry your hair, do not curl or straighten wet strands with a curling iron. This greatly spoils the structure of the hair and dries it out. If you don’t have time to dry your hair naturally, then use heat protection products;
cut off the split ends every month. To do this, it is better to use hot scissors that will seal the ends.

Traditional recipes for colored hair

We must not forget about the benefits and effectiveness of folk recipes for colored hair. Some do not have the most pleasant smell, and the action time is longer than ready-made products, but the benefits and effect are much better.

Most of these recipes are infusions for rinsing curls. Compositions with celandine, sage, yarrow and nettle have an excellent effect on dyed curls. Sunflower and chamomile are suitable for light hair. For dark hair – oak bark and hops, coffee and tea. Red curls are beautifully shaded with henna and hibiscus.

To prepare the infusion you will need 1 spoon of different herbs and 2 liters of boiling water. The herbs are filled with water and allowed to stand for 30 minutes. Then the tincture is filtered and used for its intended purpose.

For hair care, use only special lines of cosmetics for colored curls, as well as restorative folk masks.

One of the key problems with colored hair is slow growth. Folk remedies suggest combating this problem by using an alcohol tincture of red pepper. It needs to be rubbed into the roots every day for a month, then given a rest for 7 days.

Masks made from milk, sour cream, kefir and honey smooth the hair cuticle. It is damaged a lot by chemical paint. The most effective results are achieved if you prepare masks based on these products. The simplest is mixing honey and milk and lubricating the curls. This mask must be left on for at least 2 hours.

But it’s worth noting a couple more secrets of caring for dyed hair:

try not to use detergents for 3 days after painting. This will allow the coloring pigments to strengthen better.
Do not wash your hair with too hot water. It opens the cuticle, which washes out the shades;
Do not go into the pool for 14 days after painting. Chlorine destroys pigments;
protect your hair from ultraviolet radiation, because color fades;
do not change your image more often than every 3 months, otherwise your hair is in danger of losing its beauty, shine and health.

Where to dye your hair

Remember that the choice of the salon where you will dye your hair plays an important role. But even when having your hair dyed by a professional with high-quality dye, it will not always give the desired tone right away. Often you have to repeat the manipulations. Therefore, a radical change in image is undesirable for your hair; change the shade gradually. There are many factors to consider when dyeing your hair:

quantity ;
structural features. Rare and thin ones will stain faster than thick ones;
hair length The longer the hair, the more negative impact it had. This plays a role in coloring;
native shade and shade of paint. Light colors don't last as well as dark ones. Red shades are better fixed at the roots, but are easily washed off from colored curls;
shades that you have dyed your curls with before. If natural paints were used, then chemical ones should not be used. The desired result will not be achieved.

Based on this, it is worth noting that you should only dye your hair and change the shade in trusted salons from professionals using high-quality dye. Otherwise, the desired result cannot be guaranteed.

Rich black hair color makes your appearance bright and memorable. The shade is easy to achieve; it is the most covering of the entire color palette due to its high pigmentation. Brown-haired women, blondes and even redheads can dye their hair black the first time.

Who suits black hair color?

The classic black color of curls suits few women: just look at the “before and after dyeing” photos to see for yourself.

Many people, when choosing paint, focus only on the tone of their face, which is fundamentally wrong. Moderately dark and fair skin goes equally well with all shades of hair. Specifically, black is contrasting, so it emphasizes any rashes, wrinkles, pronounced blood vessels, and also makes the skin 1.5-2 tones whiter.

Natural brunettes are usually brown-eyed women with olive skin. Eyebrows are of great importance: they should not be faded or sparse.

Blue-black curls are not suitable for natural platinum blondes, as well as girls with problematic faces.

The palette of dark tones is extremely rich, so every woman can choose something for herself. There is no need to immediately paint yourself a burning black, since it is difficult to get rid of such a bright pigment.

Dark shades make the face thinner, and the hair visually more voluminous and thick.

At the same time, black has a clear drawback: it is not suitable for women with light eyes and soft, “pretty” facial features. This contrasting shade can ruin an initially pretty face, making it pale and expressionless.

Overview of shades of black

1. Shade - Crow Wing 2. Shade - Dark Chocolate 3. Shade - Plum, 4. Shade - Dark Blue, 5. Shade - Ash Black

Main shades:

  1. Crow's wing. Natural monochrome tone. If a woman has dark skin and black eyes, then this shade will suit her perfectly.
  2. Dark chocolate (bitter chocolate). Rich dark color with brownish tints. Suitable for girls with dark skin and brown, hazel-green eyes.
  3. Plum (black tulip). Multifaceted tone, can go eggplant or red. Changes depending on lighting. Plum hair goes well with fair skin and light brown eyes.
  4. Dark blue (blue black). Goes great with blue or blue eyes. Dark blue paint can radically change a girl's image. You can get a bluish tint or blue hair effect in certain lighting.
  5. Ash black. It’s hard to go wrong with an ashy shade, as it is quite cold and calm. Suitable for almost all women, but will look best on blue-eyed “snow white” and dark-skinned women.

Light black color can fade into brown (warm) or gray (cold). Cool shades are ideal for blue-eyed girls with fair skin, and warm shades are ideal for green-eyed and brown-eyed dark-skinned girls.

The previously popular shade “crow’s wing” is now losing ground due to its monotony and boringness. Therefore, natural brunettes are recommended to diversify their hairstyle. Dark hair colors go well with blue tips. You can also do highlighting (lighten some strands) or ombre (transition from dark to light color).

Dye your hair black

How to dye your curls at home? Correct coloring is carried out in 3 stages:

  1. Dirty hair needs to be dyed. Black has a bright and covering pigment, so no pre-lightening is required. The dye must first be applied to the roots (for 5-10 minutes), and then distributed over the entire length of the hair.
  2. Keep the dye on the curls for no more than 30-40 minutes (depending on the initial shade of the curls and the quality of the dye). Rinse off with warm water.
  3. The final stage: washing the hair and applying conditioner. Dark dye can significantly dry out the ends of your hair, so it is highly recommended to apply a nourishing mask for 15-20 minutes.

To make coloring more comfortable, you need to acquire in advance a brush, gloves (they do not always come with the dye) and a suitable container for diluting the oxide and paint.

The best hair dyes

The palette of any paint includes dark shades, since they are basic and popular. But not all dyes have decent quality and high durability. Women with weakened curls are better off purchasing products without ammonia.

Interesting dark shades (purple, obsidian) are in the L’Oreal Prodigy paint palette. This particular dye can dry out the ends a little and spoil the overall condition of the hair.

1. Estel Professional ESSEX, 2. L'Oreal Preference, 3. Kapous Professional, 4. Syoss Oleo Intense

Which paint is the best? We can safely recommend such means as:

  1. Estel Professional. The most suitable line: ESSEX. The set does not include gloves or balm. The paint is professional, shades can be mixed with each other. Longevity is average (3 to 5 weeks). Product price: about 200 rubles per package.
  2. L "Oreal. The Preference line includes stunning dark shades: from burning to ashy. The paint is quite expensive (from 300 to 500 rubles), but durable. The set contains everything you need for coloring, except for the brush.
  3. Kapous. This brand produces excellent professional hair dyes and care products. The Kapous Professional line includes several dark shades. Cost of one package: from 250 rubles.
  4. Syoss. Paints from this company, as a rule, have a small palette, but very decent quality. The only unsuccessful line: Oleo Intense (low staying power and poor coverage). All other products can be safely purchased. The cost varies from 220 to 500 rubles.

To cover up a red or red color, you need to buy paint with a bluish tint.

How to remove black hair color?

Painting a dark color is quite easy, but washing it off is much more difficult. Often, black shades are removed in several stages, since the pigment is strongly absorbed into the hair (especially if the coloring has been done several times). Dyed curls cannot be dyed into lighter colors even with professional dye. Don't throw money away and ruin your curls with unnecessary procedures.

There are 3 ways to get out of black:

  1. Lightening. Cons: severely damages curls, dries out ends, final color has a yellowish tone. After bleaching at home, curls often become patchy, so this procedure needs to be done in a salon.
  2. Removal of pigment. Cons: The final shade may be yellow. Various products (powders, creams, removers) from the companies Estel and Kapous will help remove dark pigment from curls. This can be done at home. The products must be used according to the instructions. It is different for each product.
  3. Changing shade. It is not necessary to resort to radical methods and lighten your curls. You can make a different shade of black, for example, change the classic color to bluish.

To care for colored curls, you will definitely need conditioner. It is advisable to buy a product for colored curls. A woman will have to make nourishing masks 1-2 times a week. It is recommended to use paint and care products from the same manufacturer.

Does black hair age you or not?

Classic black makes you look old, but don’t forget that this color is different and multifaceted. Warm shades that fade into chestnut do not add age. It is best for older women to paint themselves in warm colors, but a young girl can afford cool colors. Gray undertones and rich monochrome colors age the most.

If the hair is initially gray, then the dark dye should be left on for no more than 20 minutes. During this time, the product will completely cover gray hair and will not give too pretentious an effect.

Also, unnatural brunettes need to regularly tint their roots. Without touch-up, the hairstyle will look awkward and ugly. Do not forget.

It is much easier for fair-haired beauties to change their hair tone than dark-haired ones. They don't have to go through the process of bleaching their curls, which dries them out as much as regular coloring. Brunettes who want to dye their hair brown need to perform a number of steps.

First of all, it is worth considering that at home you will not be able to achieve the same effect that dyeing at a hairdresser will give you. A specialist will be able to select the necessary products to ensure that the color is applied evenly along the entire length, and also so that it looks natural and the hair does not lose its vibrant shine. A professional will also be able to give advice on the tone that suits you, and correct mistakes if the result does not satisfy you. However, the service of a hairdresser will cost you more than painting it yourself. If you still can’t find the opportunity to visit a hairdresser or simply don’t want to spend money on one, then purchase hair lightener and dye of the desired shade at any professional store. Do not use peroxide, as it causes your hair to dry out very much and become like a washcloth, making it almost impossible to restore its healthy appearance. And in general, in any case, your curls will be very damaged, but with the help of all kinds of oils and masks, their condition can be improved for the better. Before using any coloring/lightening products, you must undergo a skin sensitivity test. This is done very simply and does not take much time. Apply the paint to the area of skin behind the ear or on the wrist and wait 30-40 minutes. If during this time no allergic reactions have occurred to your skin - no irritation, pronounced redness, etc. - you can start coloring your hair. Wear cellophane gloves (usually the ones that come with the dye) and cover your shoulders with an old towel to avoid staining your clothing or skin while bleaching. If you can’t find a towel, then simply wear worn-out clothes that you don’t mind ruining. Follow the instructions that came with your product when diluting the bleach in a container or container. Apply it to your hair from roots to ends, paying special attention to the occipital and temporal areas. Leave the product on for the time indicated in the instructions (usually no more than 40 minutes), and then rinse with warm water.

Then you can proceed directly to dyeing your hair in the desired color. Again, read the instructions carefully and dilute the paint accordingly. First, apply the composition only to the roots of the hair, also thoroughly coating the back of the head and temples. After waiting about 10 minutes, you can apply it to the rest of your hair. Try to distribute the substance evenly along the entire length. If you have thick, long hair, then be careful, because there may not be enough dye. It’s better to apply it little by little to the strands, smearing from roots to ends. If paint gets on your skin, immediately wipe it off with a damp cotton pad, otherwise you will have to endure an unpleasant tingling sensation all this time. After 30 minutes, rinse your hair thoroughly with warm water until it is no longer soapy or colored.

Usually, dye packages contain a small bottle of hair mask. Be sure to use it. If the balm is not available, purchase it in advance and apply it to your hair after you wash off the dye. This product will help restore hair that has been dried out by bleach and dye, giving it shine.

A month after dyeing, repeat the procedure if you do not want a sharp border between black roots and brown hair to be noticeable. Good luck changing your look!

If your hair is dyed black, only bleaching with powder (blondoran). There are no other ways.

You can't get out of black with a wash or simple coloring. I'll explain why:
Wash
The wash will only help if you want to turn black hair into chocolate hair. But not blond, and definitely not blond. Smyka washes out black dye from hair without harming it (contrary to the belief that it spoils hair). In most cases, after washing, the hair acquires a bright red tint due to the fact that the dye is washed off, and the hair contains a lot of its own red pigment. BUT the remover can be used as the first stage of lightening - to wash off the paint. Then you still need to bleach with powder.
Dye
The dye cannot lighten dark-colored hair. She only adds a new color pigment to the hair, but cannot remove the old one, that is, lighten it. And when you dye your dark hair with light dye, it remains dark, because... the dark dye is still in my hair. Dye can only lighten natural, undyed hair, and even then not much.

If you ask a master to turn black hair into light brown or blonde, he can only offer powder bleaching to remove pigment from the hair. Most often, you have to do 2 bleachings so that there is no pigment left in the hair. And only then can you dye your hair the color you want.

My natural color is light brown. The hair is naturally weak, the hairdresser assessed its condition as unsatisfactory and warned that it might not hold up.

Stage 1. To wash the black pigment out of my hair, the hairdresser told me to wash my hair with anti-dandruff shampoo (for example, Nizoral) for a week. It strips the dye out of your hair a lot. Although you can do a wash.

Stage 2. Then the hairdresser bleached all my hair using bleach powder mixed with 1.9% developer. She wrapped each strand in foil. After bleaching my hair was orange
The powder and oxidizer were professional L"Oreal without ammonia.
Bleaching powder (blondor) can be mixed with oxidizing agents from 1.9% to 12%.
If the percentage is large (9 or 12%), the hair bleaches faster and stronger, but at the same time it burns and deteriorates, plus it turns out more yellow.
If the percentage is small (1.9% or 3%), the hair is bleached less and longer, but does not “burn” and is not severely damaged, plus very little yellowness is obtained.
Since my master took the smallest percentage, she wrapped each strand in foil to make the process go faster.
This is exactly what it is professionalism of the master: take a minimal % of oxidizing agent and keep it on your hair longer to get a light shade with minimal reddishness.
Only in this way - by bleaching - can you achieve lightening by 5 or more tones. A simple wash cannot do this.

Stage 3. They applied blonder (bleaching powder) to my hair again, mixed
with oxidizing agent 1.3%. The master again used foil on each strand. The hair turned out light yellow.

Stage 4. I was dyed purple-ash blonde. Due to the purple color, the hair turned from yellow to ash-white.
It is very important that the paint is professional. The mass market in 50% of cases gives the wrong color at all.
Dyeing or tinting is necessary after any bleaching. All color pigments are washed out of the hair, the scales are open and it is “empty”, easily breaks and falls off. Tinting or dyeing fills the hair with pigment and covers the scales.
Tinting is the same as coloring, but the paint contains no ammonia and is mixed with the lowest percentage of oxide 1.9%. That is, the hair is not once again damaged by ammonia and high%, which is very important after bleaching.

All stages (except the first) were done in a row, in total it took 6 hours
My before and after photos

AFTER the transition to blonde, the condition of the hair is 3 minus, and only professional products can put it in order. At a minimum, this is a restorative mask (from 600 rubles to 1500 rubles), silicone oil/serum for ends that will constantly split (from 700 to 1500 rubles) - it “seals” split ends. When straightening hair with an iron without professional thermal protection (from 700 rubles and above), the hair will simply fall off after a couple of months. I already wrote a post about my departure.
You will be able to relax a little in a year or two, when your bleached hair will grow back twice and be cut off.

Have you dyed your hair black, but the result was not what you expected? Or have you been a brunette for a while and now want to dye your hair brown? Unfortunately, you can't simply dye your hair back to brown from black without first bleaching or lightening your hair. After lightening, you can choose the desired shade of brown. Whether you've recently dyed your hair black or it's been your color for a long time, there are several ways to transition from black to brown.

Steps

Removing paint using shampoos

    Choose the right products. There are 2 types of shampoos that can remove hair dye. Clarifying shampoo is rich in ingredients that help remove color, while anti-dandruff shampoo can discolor hair. These shampoos will help you remove dye and return your hair to its original color. You can also buy conditioner that is not suitable for colored hair. It will not only protect them from damage, but also help remove paint.

    Apply shampoo to your hair. Sit in the bathroom and wrap a towel around your neck. Wet your hair with warm water to open the hair follicles. Massage the shampoo into your hair and rinse from scalp to ends. Make sure you apply the shampoo to the entire length, which helps wash out the color evenly. After lathering your hair, remove excess foam.

    Keep your hair warm. Now that you have applied the shampoo, put on a shower cap or wrap your hair in a plastic bag. Using a hair dryer, heat your hair evenly. Make sure you do not melt the material of the cap or bag. After this, leave the shampoo on your hair for 15-20 minutes.

    Rinse hair and repeat. Rinse your hair thoroughly after 20 minutes. Apply a small amount of additional shampoo and rinse your hair again to remove any color particles that have been loosened by the washing and heating process. This time there is no need to keep the shampoo on your hair and heat it with a hairdryer.

    Apply hair conditioner and dry your hair. Apply conditioner to your hair from roots to ends. Take a hairdryer and heat the entire length of your hair again. Leave the conditioner on your hair for 25-30 minutes. Then rinse your hair with cold water.

    Repeat. After the first procedure, your hair should become visually lighter and there should be less black dye. You may even see your hair return to its natural color, just like it was before dyeing. It is unlikely that the black color will completely wash off after one treatment, so you will need to repeat the process. Once your hair is light enough, you can start dyeing it brown.

Removing paint using special creams

    Choose a paint remover. There are several different paint removers available. There are products for lightening hair and removing color. Choose the one you like or think is more suitable.

    Apply paint remover. Such products are supplied in the form of two components: powder and activator. Mix them together to remove the black paint. After mixing the ingredients, apply the product to your hair. Make sure you distribute the product throughout your hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap and wait 15-60 minutes.

    • If you have thick, long hair, one box of color remover may not be enough for you.
    • Since this product contains peroxide, it will have an unpleasant odor. Make sure your bathroom is ventilated and you don't have clothes on that you wouldn't mind getting dirty.
    • Always mix ingredients according to package directions.
  1. Rinse your hair and apply conditioner. After the time indicated on the package has passed, rinse your hair thoroughly. After you've completely rinsed off the product, apply conditioner to restore your hair from the peroxide. Rinse off the conditioner and let your hair dry. The hair color should be light enough to dye it the desired shade of chestnut.

Removing Paint with Vitamin C

    Buy the necessary ingredients. For this recipe, you need to buy vitamin C in tablet, capsule, or powder form. You will also need a bottle of your favorite shampoo, a comb, a towel and a shower cap.

    Mix the ingredients into a paste. You should mix vitamin C with your shampoo. Place 1 tablespoon of vitamin C in a non-metal bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of your shampoo. Mix them together to form a paste. If the paste is too thin, add a little more vitamin C to it to obtain a thicker consistency.

    • If you have long, thick hair, you may need to double or triple this recipe. You should completely cover your hair with the mixture.
  1. Apply the product to your hair. Sit in the bathroom and wrap a towel around your neck. Wet your hair with warm water and squeeze out excess water. Take the paste and apply along the entire length of your hair from roots to ends. Use a comb to evenly distribute the paste throughout your hair. After applying the paste, cover your hair with a shower cap. Leave the product on your hair for 1 hour.

    • If you have long hair, pin it up so it fits into your shower cap.
  2. Rinse, apply conditioner and repeat the procedure. After an hour, rinse your hair well. Let them dry. Once your hair is completely dry, apply a nourishing conditioner to restore the moisture that was removed during the procedure. If you still have black dye on your hair, repeat the procedure in a couple of days. After completely removing the black paint, you can start painting it chestnut color.

Using other methods

    Visit the salon. If you don’t want to mess with your hair at home, then there is always the opportunity to consult with a professional hairdresser in a salon. A hair colorist knows much more about hair care than you do and will be able to help restore damaged hair from coloring. A professional will be able to determine your hair type and any potential problems associated with hair care, and will also help you dye your hair the desired color with minimal damage to it.

    Contact a beauty school. If you're looking for a more cost-effective salon, check out a beauty school in your area. These schools offer hair care services at a lower cost than salons, and the students generally do an excellent job. The students are trained, so you need to be clear about what they are doing to your hair to get the results you want.

    Wait. If none of these methods worked or didn't work for you, you can always wait until the paint washes off on its own. This process can take a long time, but it is one of the most effective. You can always continue to wash your hair with shampoo that is not intended for color-treated hair to help the dye wash off faster. Once enough of the dye has washed off, you can dye your hair any shade of brown you want.
