Often, this is a sacred sacrament, which is dictated by the internal processes seething in each individual. I want to gain protection, confidence, or erase all the boundaries and barriers imposed by “well-wishers.” After external changes, the world in the eyes becomes bright and colorful. New types of hair coloring are designed for quick and effective transformation.

Originally from Hollywood, this technique remains relevant throughout the season. It is universal - suitable for brunettes, blondes, redheads. Even those girls who are proud of the natural color of their undyed hair. Ombre looks great on curls of any length. Hair looks voluminous due to the gradual transition of color to the very ends. The darkest part is the area from the roots to the middle.

There are two options for amber, either the hair is not dyed, or a tone is chosen that is significantly, contrastingly darker in comparison with the lower part of the hair. From the middle to the ends, the curls are first lightened and then tinted. Those who are bold and ready to experiment can use red, blue, and green shades. Basically, these are amazing variations of all natural combinations.

Looking at the photo of shatush hair coloring, you can note the lightness and shine that this technique gives to the hair. This is a more gentle transformation procedure and takes a small amount of time. Alternating dark and light strands, the artist carefully blends the dye to create the effect of burnt curls.

Sometimes the result is barely perceptible, it seems that the sun's glare is simply tangled in the hair. This hair coloring technique involves creating a natural, unobtrusive image.

Balayage hair coloring

This method allows you to combine alternating different shades. The color scheme is selected individually, taking into account the type of appearance (winter, spring, summer, autumn), face shape and the actual length of the curls. For owners of smooth, clear haircuts, you need to carefully process the middle and ends so that the result is an edging without “jumps” or sharp transitions. When dyeing short hair, only the ends are affected. Nowadays Japanese paint is popular among girls.

Fashionable types of hair coloring rely on traditional preferences. Today, these are not emaciated white strands with a yellow tint, but shiny, luxurious curls that radiate health. This result is achieved by painting in one color palette, combining shades. This ranges from dark chocolate, hazelnut, to golden wheat and silver Scandinavian blonde. Literally - alternation of brown and light strands.

For those with dark hair who have long dreamed of creating a softer look, this technique is 100% suitable. Bronding is a complex process and fatal brunettes need to be patient to get the expected results. This type of coloring is possible both over the entire area of hair growth and individual zones; attention is focused on the eyes, cheekbones, lips, and the structure of flowing curls is emphasized.

The hair coloring technique uses a huge number of different shades and combinations to satisfy the needs of the most demanding clients. The main advantage is that different types and methods of hair coloring allow you to maintain the structure along the entire length. You can forever forget about the flashy regrown contrasting roots and thinning curls after each procedure.

For black hair, you can choose either a classic ombre with a edging of chocolate, fiery and light tones, or a combination with deep blue, pink, emerald or incredibly purple. Modern hair coloring techniques are a symbiosis of highlighting and toning, but not standard black and white combinations, but natural shades, the boundaries of the transitions are not clear, but smooth and soft.

Today the following types of coloring are popular:

  • Plain coloring(in cold or warm colors). The classic is eternal and many choose this technique of changing the image. Unlike ombre, shatush and bronding, dyeing in one tone is possible on hair of different lengths and structures (both straight and curly).
  • Traditional highlighting, and the next one is toning. The process of bleaching individual strands allows for a wide range of shades. Highlighting is chosen as a basic stage of dyeing because the hair structure is destroyed, becomes brittle and it is necessary to fill the gaps with dye that does not contain ammonia. After tinting, the hair becomes manageable, the effect of gray or yellow strands disappears.
  • Contrast highlighting performed on light hair, using dark colors (black, brown, burgundy) to highlight individual areas.
  • Graphic strands. In haircuts and styling of asymmetrical shapes, there is usually an accent - bangs, curls, etc. This highlight is highlighted with the help of color. Girls under 30 and older can afford bright shades of pink, blue, orange and the entire palette in general.
  • For technology " American color» several shades (from 3) of the same color are selected. The range of each increases by one tone, as a result the hair comes to life, the effect of transitions is sometimes difficult to determine visually. More often, brown-haired women choose warm colors: creme brulee, cinnamon, honey, chocolate. For blondes - all mother-of-pearl, pearl, light blond motifs. For fiery women, combinations of turmeric, copper, and burgundy are presented.
  • « Men prefer blondes" The image of Marilyn Monroe is not close to everyone, but the magical effect of bleached hair still makes many young ladies join the ranks of blond beauties. The bleaching technique is done using both paint and powder. Homemade or unprofessional transformation looks terrible. By contacting an experienced hairdresser, you can get light curls shining with gold or a cold tint of silver.

These techniques allow:

    Experiment.

    Do not damage the root follicles.

    Make your curls visually thick and voluminous.

It is important not to combine cold and warm shades, it looks artificial and not relevant. A qualified master will help determine the color type and correctly select the optimal technique for the coloring process, taking into account individual wishes. Don't forget to use masks for colored hair.

It’s worth throwing away the established canons and trying to create a new modern image.

For dessert, video: Fashionable hair coloring

It is believed that sizzling dark-haired beauties look sexy and luxurious. But even those girls whom nature has awarded with chestnut, brown and black hair prefer to experiment by dyeing their hair in different colors. What color is most suitable for such persons and how to create a harmonious image? In our article we will try to shed light on these and other questions, and also find out which dark hair coloring is at the peak of popularity this season.

Features of dark hair

It is very difficult to guess how a light pigment will behave on dark curls. If you are dyeing light colors, you simply cannot do without lightening your hair. Today, ready-made solutions are available on the market: a tube of paint that needs to be mixed with an oxidizing agent. Dyeing dark hair in light tones should not immediately be done in very light shades of blonde, as you risk getting uneven coloring and a dirty color. If you nevertheless decide to transform into a blonde, lighten your curls gradually - each time four shades lighter.

In professional beauty salons, things are a little different. Craftsmen independently mix the color emulsion based on the selected oxygen agent, color corrector and dye. To lighten dark-haired girls, you will need 6, 9 or 12% lightener. If their curls are too hard, dense and pitch black, choose the maximum. For brown-haired women with thin hair, 6% of the chemical will be enough.

Remember, when coloring, it is forbidden to introduce cold and warm shades into one hairstyle, otherwise there will be complete disharmony. If you are going to paint using modern techniques, then choose shades that belong to the same color range - from dark to light. Since some hairstyles involve interweaving natural curls with artificially colored ones, wash the hair (if it has been dyed).

Interesting fact. In ancient Rome, dark hair was not associated with femininity. It was believed that light curls are a symbol of innocence and purity. That is why those women whom nature had endowed with chestnut and black curls tried with all their might to bleach them - they applied lemon, sat for hours in the sun with their curls smeared in curdled milk.

Coloring rules

The basic recommendations for dyeing dark hair are practically no different from tips for dyeing other colors. The only difference is to choose the right oxygenant to lighten your curls.

Coloring rules:

  1. The dye should be mixed in a glass or ceramic container to prevent oxidation.
  2. Before painting, smear the forehead in the area of the hairline, neck and ears with Vaseline so that if the dye gets in, you can easily wipe it off the skin.
  3. If you don’t know whether a particular color will work, paint just one strand.
  4. Hair coloring always begins at the back of the head, since this is where the color takes the longest to activate. The strands at the temple do not have such a rigid structure, so they quickly take on the artificial pigment.
  5. For ease of dyeing, it is recommended to divide your hair into zones according to the parting that you always wear.
  6. If you want to have the effect of burnt strands, then comb your curls and make light vertical brush strokes without trying to carefully paint over each strand.
  7. Try to step back a little from the roots so as not to damage the hair follicles with aggressive dyes. It should be noted that dark roots are the trend of this season.
  8. Leave the color on for about 30-45 minutes depending on the desired result.
  9. When finished, be sure to wash off the paint. Use the shampoo and conditioner that always comes with the chosen dye.

Important point! To maintain color after dyeing, it is recommended to use a special toner. If you want the pigment not to be washed off from your hair for a long time, stop washing your hair every day.

How is the procedure performed?

The coloring procedure depends entirely on the technique you choose. To obtain a more saturated color, it is recommended to wrap the strands in foil. If you want to get a more diffuse color and the effect of sun-bleached strands, then the curls should dry naturally. Most modern coloring techniques involve brushing and combing the hair before applying the colorant.

Full coloring

Involves dyeing the hair one color. Now in fashion:

  • purple dahlia;
  • topaz;
  • chestnut;
  • dark walnut;
  • wine shades;
  • blueberry;
  • ripe cherry.

You shouldn’t completely lighten your hair to creamy blonde or other colors, because you run a very high risk of not getting the desired shade.

Carrying out monochrome staining is very simple. The coloring emulsion is first distributed on the hair roots, thoroughly coating each area. Then the coloring composition is combed with a comb and sent under the hood for 35–50 minutes. Finally, wash the curls.

Coloring with henna and basma

Airtouch

Air Touch is a modern highlighting technique that ensures “mixing” of your hair and your dyed hair. Some highlights of the selected light color are created on a dark base.

Technique:

  1. The entire crown is conventionally divided into strands.
  2. The master selects a separate strand (the thinner it is, the more impressive the hair will look). The strand is raised from the surface of the hair by 90 degrees.
  3. Cold air is blown in so that individual short hairs come out.
  4. The remaining base is placed under the foil to prevent stains from remaining on other hair.
  5. The entire hair is dyed in a similar way.

Thus, those with dark hair will end up with a stunning hairstyle. Air touch is suitable for almost all haircuts, except short ones.

For those with short hairstyles and dark hair, contouring, balayage and Nirvana Blond, which involves very dark roots and contrasting light ends, are suitable.

The dyeing technique involves:

  1. Dividing the curls into strands and tying them with elastic bands.
  2. The ends are painted with a specially diluted composition, which necessarily includes a clarifier. Next they are wrapped in foil.
  3. 15–20 minutes after staining, vertical strokes are made in the direction from bottom to top.
  4. Wait the same amount of time and then wash off the paint.
  5. Be sure to use a conditioning balm that restores the structure of curls after coloring.

The following photo shows how beautiful caramel balayage looks on dark hair.

At the peak of popularity this season, tiger eye coloring. It combines several colors: caramel and dark chocolate. Suitable for strong, purposeful and strong-willed women.

Ombre

In most cases, ombre involves a contrasting transition between colors. The ends are painted in bright or light colors, and the roots, as in the balayage technique, are left natural. Only the ends can be pigmented (approximately 10 cm). But in most cases, craftsmen apply dye to the curls from the ear line.

The same colors are used as for balayage. For extravagant individuals who want to shock others, the fashion world offers:

  • rich plum;
  • pink gold;
  • coral.

Features of execution:

  1. Since the transition line must be clear, the ponytails are tied at the same level.
  2. The roots are painted a light color and wrapped in foil.
  3. Just above the foil (several centimeters) the areas are painted with paint, but without using foil material.
  4. After 40–45 minutes, the applied emulsion is washed off.

Interesting to know. Not all girls agree to ombre, when the roots and ends are painted coffee-colored and a light stripe is created between them. But if you want to stand out from standard painting techniques, you can try this ombre variation. It looks very original.

Shatush

This new technique allows you to achieve the effect of burnt strands. Dark-haired girls can try combining their hair color with cognac, nut, chocolate, dark beige and caramel. You should choose colors that are 1–3 shades lighter than the base.

This is done as follows:

  1. The hair is divided into zones.
  2. Select individual strands that need to be combed a little.
  3. Dye is applied to them using vertical strokes.
  4. After 30–45 minutes, the product is washed off.
  5. Balm is applied to the hair.

Similar coloring Looks gorgeous on shoulder-length curls or long hair. Since the natural color is taken as the basis, the regrown roots are not noticeable at all.

Screen painting

It looks quite stylish and exclusive. Any designs always look advantageous on dark curls. You can paint individual areas through a stencil, creating:

  • sheets;
  • abstraction;
  • leopard print;
  • firebird or owl feather;
  • pixels;
  • and other drawings.

This type of painting should be done in a salon by a professional painter. At home, you are unlikely to be able to clearly draw lines. Stencil dyeing is only suitable for those with straight curls.

Coloring

You have the right to choose unusual coloring with bright colors. On dark curls, emerald, purple, red, orange, blue, blue, pink colors look cool. If you have a cascading hairstyle, try combining, for example, blue, turquoise and purple, coloring only the lower strands of hair. Unfortunately, you can’t do without lightening. This non-standard coloring of dark hair will suit shocking and self-confident individuals.

3D coloring

A new way to make your locks look voluminous. The master uses several tones - a dark base color and a tone lighter. The coloring result lasts a long time. Visually, the hair gains volume and also shimmers beautifully in the sun. Read more about 3D and 7D hair coloring techniques on our website.

Coloring with crayons

This method will make you look outrageous in just a few days.. Ideal for photo shoots or parties. You need to buy crayons or powder, run them through your hair several times, and then fix the result with hairspray. Bright colors are suitable for brunettes and brown-haired women: red, crimson, blue, lemon, turquoise.

Neon coloring

This season's hit. First you need to bleach individual strands, and then apply a special gel to them that allows you to dye them in a variety of rainbow colors. This creative coloring does not last long - about 8 washes. Suitable for cheerful women who want to stand out from the crowd.

Ellumination

A fairly popular procedure that involves highlighting the color of curls using absolutely harmless Elumen dyes. Suitable even for dry and brittle hair. Curls acquire additional volume and beautiful natural shine.

Caring for colored hair

Since in most cases, dark-haired beauties have to lighten their hair to carry out complex fashionable coloring, proper care and restoration of curls after the procedure are required.

  • immediately on the first day after coloring, do not forget to use a special color-fixing balm, which neutralizes the alkaline environment on the hair;
  • wash your hair once every 3 days, and use tinting products to maintain color;
  • at least once a week, make a nourishing mask or apply a vitamin cocktail to your curls;
  • eat properly and balanced;
  • minimize the use of hair dryers and curling irons, and do not often use styling products;
  • choose shampoos from the “For colored hair” series, do not forget to use a conditioner that will moisturize your curls;
  • always trim thin ends so that the hairstyle looks voluminous and the curls are not split;
  • for curls, choose a comb with real bristles and stop combing your hair while it is still wet;
  • When in the sun, protect your hair with a hat;
  • Complete coloring from roots to tips is allowed no more than 2 times a year.

Thus, it is recommended to dye dark hair either dark shades or light ones, but with a deviation of 4 tones from the base. Before performing the procedure, we recommend choosing modern coloring techniques, when the roots retain their natural color, and along the length of the curls it is stretched to a lighter color.

For painting, you can use ammonia and non-ammonia dyes, and in order to maintain the color, it is advisable to resort to tinting once every few weeks. There is another alternative to chemical dyes - a combination of henna and basma.

How to dye your hair at home?

Sooner or later, each of us wants to change our hairstyle, refresh our usual look and become more beautiful.

Hair coloring for brunettes is just what you need.

What colors are in fashion this season?

HIGHLIGHTING

Hair highlighting is one of the most beautiful and widespread techniques that makes your appearance feminine and noble. It can be divided into several main types:

  • Venetian (blond for brunettes) – refreshes the complexion and transforms the appearance. It is performed using warm shades (mostly light ones - cognac, champagne, golden) - from 2 to 4. During the session, the master divides the hair into many thin strands and applies paint to them with a flat and wide brush. The composition is kept for no more than 40 minutes, without wrapping the strands in foil and a towel. The result is a smooth and delicate pattern with a radiant undertone.
  • American is an ideal option for dark-haired ladies, which involves applying several colors to the strands at once - both moderate, calm, and colorful, contrasting. A mandatory point is the use of foil. This highlighting looks especially beautiful on curls.
  • Creative (“salt and pepper”) - in this stylish version, black strands are mixed with white or light gray. This hairstyle looks quite extravagant and is perfect not only for adult women, but also for young girls.

RESERVATION

Don't know how best to dye a brunette's hair? Opt for bronde, which resembles the effect of natural highlights faded in the sun. This is the most popular option for coloring strands, which is a combination of light (blond) and brown (brown) shades. As a rule, a dark tone smoothly turns into a light one, which is why this method can be called stretching.

Bronzing is great for medium to long hair. After visiting a stylist, your hair will become incredibly beautiful. The main thing is to choose the color. Give preference to the most natural shades with a difference of 2-3 tones. Light brown, coffee, chocolate, brown, honey, wheat, copper and chestnut are ideal.

TIGER EYE

The “tiger eye” paint was named after the stone, the glossy surface of which shimmers in three shades at once - copper, brown and gold. Colorists managed to transfer this color to women's hair and make it one of the most beautiful. Nowadays, the most avid fashionistas are literally going crazy over this intricate technique! Tiger Eye is ideal for representatives of the winter color type with cold eyes and slightly pale skin.

SHATUSH

As you can see in these photos, the shatush looks great, and therefore remains just as relevant. In the process of dyeing strands, the master can use several shades of the same color palette at once - usually natural. The paint can be applied along the entire length of the hair or just at the ends.

The strands for dyeing the shatush are chosen randomly - it seems as if the sun itself was working on your hairstyle. This technique really looks very natural - soft shades blend smoothly with each other and create a transition from dark to light areas. Achieving such effects is actually not difficult - you just need to comb very thin strands and apply paint to them, moving from the ends upward. The root zone is not affected, so this technique can be safely called gentle.

BABYLIGHTS

Another popular coloring technique that involves noticeably lightening dark hair, thanks to which the image becomes fresh, feminine and very delicate. As a rule, the bleach is applied only to the ends and hair near the face. When done correctly, babylights are indistinguishable from natural burnout.

OMBRE

Two-tone coloring Ombre Hair color does not lose its position in the upcoming season. Moreover, now the paint can be applied in two ways. In the first, the roots are darkened and the ends are lightened, stretching the color. In the second option, everything is quite the opposite - they lighten the roots of the hair and darken the ends. The transition boundary can also be anything - clear or blurred. To create an ombre, chestnut, chocolate, coffee and light brown are most often used. If desired, you can make a colored insert, leaving the native color not only near the roots, but also at the bottom of the hair.

SOMBRE

The fashionable hair coloring options for brunettes continue with the very beautiful sombre technique. Appearing in Hollywood, this soft ombre (“soft, subtle ombre”) won the hearts of fashionistas. Fed up with the clear transition of dark roots to light ends, clients of the most famous salons asked the masters to come up with something else. This is how a new direction appeared, in which the transitions from one shade to another are so blurred that they are practically invisible. The result of this painting looks very natural - as if the upper strands were slightly faded in the sun and grew noticeably. Against the backdrop of a craving for naturalness, sombre with its caramel-honey notes has become the main trend of recent fashion seasons.

BALAYAGE

Balayage involves light hairdressing intervention, which is why it is considered soft and very gentle. This method, which came to us from France, is performed in a salon without film or foil. The paint is applied to the strands using sweeping horizontal movements, which create highlights or shimmer. The work is carried out with very thin strands, and painting is carried out on all layers of hair (both upper and lower). As in most cases, the emphasis is on naturalness, so caramel, brown, chocolate, beige or wheat are used for the session.

COLORED RAINBOW

Fashion 2018 pleases us not only with natural, but also extremely bright shades. Do you want to radically change your own style? Then rainbow staining, also called oil stains, is the perfect choice for you. This is a relatively new technique that uses a mixture of purple, green, pink and dark blue. Located throughout the head or a separate area, they create a unique iridescent effect. Visually, all this is very similar to a rainbow.

TWO-TONE HAIR

Creative types of hair coloring for brunettes cannot do without this bright and non-standard coloring. It involves a combination of two bright colors at once - contrasting or complementary. It all depends on your courage and imagination.

GALAXY HAIR

This is a very fashionable trend that suits brave and extraordinary ladies. In this case, colorful space landscapes serve as a source of inspiration. The technique is very complex - it would be simply impossible to do it yourself. Also remember that galaxy hair needs special care and requires frequent visits to the hairdresser.

SUNSET HAIR COLORS

Among the large number of trends, one can highlight ombre in the style of a sea sunset. Until now, only a few have decided to undergo the procedure. Now Sunset Hair Colors is gaining momentum, becoming more and more popular among modern fashionistas. The main distinguishing feature of this coloring is its color - the tones are combined so that they resemble the sky at sunset. The most commonly used colors are red, pink, violet, orange and yellow.

ARTISTIC PAINTING

Another original technique that has had no analogues until now. The main essence of this coloring is to use bright colors to embody the ideas of Monet, Van Gogh, Botticelli, and Warhol on the hair. Looks incredible!

CHERRY BOMBRE

A very beautiful coloring that gives brunettes brightness, depth and chic. Cherry Bombre is made according to the shatush principle, but, as the name suggests, a bright cherry shade is used for painting.

ASH

The gray-ash shade is a hit of the last season. It can be applied as a monochrome color or shatush/ombre/sombre. This amazing color will be the best decoration for your look and will make it truly unforgettable. Ash colors are in great demand among both fairly mature and young women. What is important is that the permanent dye can be used only once, further maintaining the brightness of the color with tonics and balms.

COLOMBRE

Colombre or rainbow ombre can be called, without exaggeration, a hit of the upcoming fashion season. This is one of the variations of the classic ombre, in which natural tones are replaced with bright rainbow colors.

DIP DYE HAIR

A very interesting technique, the literal translation of which means “cheerful tips.” With this hair coloring for brunettes, the ends are tinted in contrasting shades - blue, green, yellow, purple, pink, etc. This is the best offer for those who are looking for original solutions and want to stand out from the crowd.

MONOCHROME COLORING

If you are not a fan of modern techniques, take a closer look at monochrome coloring. In the 2018 season, chocolate, copper, chestnut, coffee, cognac and black are popular. They add volume to the hair, give it a glossy shine, and highlight features.

Even before our era, girls knew many ways to change the color of their curls, because hair coloring was socially significant at that time. It emphasized status and noble origin, and helped to attract the attention of men. Women used natural dyes (henna, basma) and various available substances - lemon juice, sour milk, ash.

Popular coloring techniques

Today, coloring also has a practical meaning - getting rid of gray hair, but more often it is used to change the image, emphasize a haircut or revive a dull natural color. There is no longer any need to use dubious folk remedies, since the choice of colors allows you to bring to life any, even the most unusual, ideas. But women who practice periodic hair color changes know that the result is not always pleasing. Curls often become brittle, overdried, and their shade is far from the desired one. Let's figure out how to avoid mistakes in coloring different types of hair and choose among the fashionable methods what is right for you.

Classic monochromatic coloring, in which the curls have the same shade along the entire length, is ideal for women who want to hide gray hair. But it has a drawback - most dyes dry out the hair, making it brittle. Therefore, it was replaced by new, gentle techniques. They allow you to achieve interesting effects without causing any damage to the hair structure.

But dyed hair needs special care. Unfortunately, almost all products from leading manufacturers of shampoos and conditioners contain substances harmful to hair. If you find sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, coco sulfate or PEG on the label, do not use this product. The best way to care for your hair is with all-natural cosmetics. Dermatologists speak about this unanimously. According to the latest tests, the best hair cosmetics are produced by Mulsan Cosmetic. We highly recommend visiting the site mulsan.ru and choose the right shampoo and conditioner for yourself. This will preserve your beauty and health. in your hair.

Highlighting and coloring

To gently lighten hair, highlighting is used. The essence of this technique is a play on the contrast of dark (natural) and bleached strands, running from roots to ends. They are evenly distributed over the entire surface of the head or several light lines are made near the face, preserving the color of the bulk of the hair. If noticeable gray hair has already appeared, you can disguise it by highlighting the shade “salt and pepper”. In this case, the hair is first dyed ashen, and then individual strands are lightened by 2-3 tones.

When coloring, natural curls are “diluted” with bright notes. Hairstyles with contrasting strands of various, often unnatural colors (red, purple, pink, green) are suitable for bold and extraordinary girls.

Booking

Bronzing is a way to combine light and dark hair. It is similar to coloring, but instead of bright colors brown, coffee, and golden shades are used. The coloring of the strands begins a few centimeters away from the roots, so frequent adjustments are not required. As a result, the hair looks natural, and the light lines in the hair create the effect of sun glare.

Ombre hair coloring

The ombre technique involves a soft merging of two colors along a horizontal line. The upper half of the hair has a natural color, followed by a transitional shade, and below it a richly colored one. There is a bolder option with a clear boundary between contrasting tones. Both methods are successfully used on both light and dark curls of all shades.

Balayage hair coloring

This type of coloring resembles highlighting. But the strands are lightened from the middle of the hair length, becoming more saturated towards the ends. The technique is most often used on dark hair, although balayage also looks interesting on fair-haired girls.

As part of the method, instead of lightening, strands can be dyed with one or more contrasting colors. But more often the shade is chosen to match the bulk of the hair to create the effect of burnt ends.

Advice!Balayage is fully revealed on curly hair, so those with straight hair should curl it or get a perm.

New products in the paint industry

What to do if you appreciate the natural beauty and softness of your hair, but still want to experiment with its color? New technologies in coloring will come to the rescue.

Elumination dyeing

This is the most gentle method that improves the structure of your curls. For the procedure, a special Elumen composition is used, containing only natural color dyes. The product is suitable even for very dry and brittle hair, increases its volume and restores healthy shine.

Elumination is the most gentle painting method
The elumination gel contains only natural dyes

The paint successfully eliminates gray hair and is quite durable - the effect lasts up to two months. The only negative is the high cost of the procedure. Due to the peculiarities of applying the composition, staining must be carried out by a master who has the appropriate certificate confirming his knowledge of eluminating technology.

Coloring with colored chalks

Sometimes you want to try out a completely new look with a bright look just for one day. This can be easily done using hair chalks sold in specialized stores. To get a new color, just run them through dry strands, and after washing your hair they will become the same again. Their color palette is huge and it is not difficult to find any desired shade. But remember that crayons dry out your hair, so you shouldn’t use them regularly.

How to choose a shade?

Choosing a new hair shade is an important stage of coloring. It is advisable to consult a professional stylist on this matter, but if you decide to do everything yourself, adhere to the general criteria for compatibility of tones, and also take into account the color of your eyes and skin. It has been noted that dark-skinned people prefer warm-colored curls, while girls with pale skin, especially blue-eyed and gray-eyed girls, look cooler.

Dyeing dark hair

It is recommended to dye very dark hair in chocolate, chestnut, blueberry, cherry and wine shades. You should not experiment with blonde - there is a high risk of not getting the desired color and ruining your hair. If you still want to go lighter, it is better to choose a coloring technique that does not affect the roots - ombre, balayage or bronzing.

Red hair coloring

Red curls are more difficult to dye than other shades. For lightening, you can use ash-colored paints that cope with yellowness after lightening. But there is no guarantee of obtaining the desired result at home.

Of the dark tones, cinnamon is recommended; red, chocolate, and copper are also acceptable. In any case, it should be close to the native one. This applies to natural red hair, but if the shade is obtained using henna, it will not be possible to recolor it. You need to wait for the previous color to grow back and only then experiment further.

Shades for blond and brown hair

For girls with naturally fair hair, caramel, honey, sand, ash and golden tones are suitable. If your eyes are dark, it makes sense to choose light chestnut and mocha shades. And you can lighten dark brown curls using gentle methods, for example, highlighting.

Advice! By giving a person a certain hair color, nature acts wisely. To ensure that your image remains harmonious after dyeing your curls, you should not change their color by more than 3 tones in any direction.

Choosing the type of paint

Having decided on the desired color, it is important to choose the right paint. Its main criterion is durability. Based on this feature, three types of compositions are distinguished:

  • toning agents of the first level of durability;
  • semi-permanent dyes of the second level;
  • durable paints of the third level.

The first type includes a variety of tinted shampoos, balms, and foams. They do not cause harm to the curls, but do not last long - about two weeks. More often, this coloring is used to refresh the natural color.

The second category contains soft dyes in small quantities. They allow you to change the color of dyed strands by 1-2 tones and last up to two months. Due to their gentle effect, they are used even on brittle hair.

The third type gives a lasting result and successfully covers gray hair. This paint is also suitable for radical color changes. But it causes more damage to the hair and, if dyed incorrectly, causes serious damage to its structure.

Hair length and dyeing technique

There are some differences in coloring short and long curls regarding its type and technology. Short haircuts leave less room for imagination. Typically, such hair is dyed in one tone, although, if desired, a combination of two shades is used. At medium length, you can implement most of the well-known techniques - highlighting, bronding, coloring. The same applies to long curls, in addition, they are ideal for creating ombre with a smooth transition of colors and the balayage technique.

Short hair coloring

You can handle monochromatic coloring of short hair yourself. At home they do it like this:

  1. Prepare the paint according to the instructions.
  2. Apply the mixture over the entire length of your hair.
  3. Comb the strands with a comb so that the color applies evenly.
  4. Cover your hair with a plastic bag or put on a shower cap.
  5. At the end of the recommended exposure time, rinse the mixture with running water.

To ensure that the color sets well, wash your hair with shampoo only 3 days after dyeing. In the future, it is advisable to use a caring balm and other restorative products.

Coloring for medium and long hair

The procedure for coloring long curls has its own nuances. When changing color for the first time, the only difference from short hair is the larger amount of dye used (two packages are usually enough).

If you only need to paint over the regrown roots, start applying the mixture there. First, carefully coat the parting line, then step back 1.5–2 cm from it, make a new one and distribute the composition over it. The steps are repeated until all roots have been processed. Ten minutes before washing off the paint, distribute its remnants along the entire length of the curls.

Important!The strands near the temples are thinner and can be dyed faster than on other parts of the head. Therefore, the mixture is applied to them last.

The lunar calendar will tell you when to paint

It was noted that the phase of the moon influences the coloring result. A favorable time for changing the color of curls is considered to be the period of its growth. To ensure that the result is long-lasting and the shade goes on evenly, we advise you to listen to the recommendations of astrologers for 2018, drawn up taking into account the lunar calendar:

The coloring result is affected by the phase of the moon. A favorable time for changing the color of curls is considered to be the period of its growth.

  • March is a good time to update your shade; natural tones have an advantage.
  • In April, pay attention to taking care of your hair, refraining from radical coloring.
  • If you were planning to change the color of your curls to a darker one, May is the right time for this.
  • In June, it is a favorable time for lightening and dyeing in red tones.
  • July is also a great time to go blonde.
  • In August, give your hair a rest; it is recommended to carry out restorative procedures.

Before changing the color of your curls, look at the color calendar
  • September is a reason to change your hairstyle or hair color.
  • In October, the time to experiment with hair color and length continues.
  • If your locks have become dull, November is a good time to add some bright notes to your hairstyle.
  • The final month, December, encourages you to improvise and try new things that you couldn’t decide on before.

Hair after dyeing: care features

Dyed curls need extra attention. It is advisable to take care products from the same series, the same brand as the paint. Shampoos, conditioners and rinses used must have a color protection function.

You should avoid using a powerful hair dryer and curling iron to avoid drying out your curls. If you notice brittleness or split ends, refrain from combing with a fine comb, especially on wet hair. This makes the problem worse and damages them further.

Restorative masks and balms are useful, but you need to use them in moderation. Once a week is enough, otherwise the shade will quickly wash off and fade. Chlorinated water also has a detrimental effect on color. Therefore, those who visit the pool must use a special swimming cap.

Don't forget that hair is strengthened not only on the outside. Periodic intake of vitamin complexes is the key to strong, healthy curls and general well-being.
