There are two types of women, one category is planning a pregnancy, the other, on the contrary, wants to avoid fertilization. For the former, this is a chance to quickly confirm whether their dream has come true, and for the latter, the possibility of a medical abortion. Despite the categorical difference in plans, the task for them is the same - to find out how to determine pregnancy in the early stages.

Signs that appear in a woman even in the first stages of fertilization will help in making an important decision. It’s worth listening more carefully to your body, and it will be able to tell you a lot. The main task is to isolate them and differentiate them from other processes in the female body that are not related to the interesting situation.

How to determine pregnancy without a test?

Despite the fact that today the pharmacy has a wide range of tests that give the correct answer even the next day after sexual intercourse, they cannot be called reliable. The reason for this inconsistency is the standard method of determination by measuring the level of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Its production begins only 6-8 days after fertilization of the egg. However, it is reliably known that this process can occur 2-3 days after sperm enter the woman’s fallopian tube.

According to simple calculations, the test can provide correct information only 8-12 days after conception. In this matter, it is worth paying attention to the sensitivity of diagnostics; the higher it is, the more reliable the result.

However, hCG in the blood is 2-3 times higher compared to the levels in the urine. As soon as the shell of the egg (chorionic tissue) is implanted into the uterine cavity, active production of a specific hormone begins. This happens 4-5 days after conception. At the same time, the amount of its presence increases daily by 2 times.

So, the first method to determine pregnancy in the early stages is to donate venous blood for the presence of the hormonally active protein hCG.

Collection of similar material will be required for analysis of trophoblastic beta globulin. This is an analogue of the previous study, but with more accurate reliability of the data obtained.

There is a possibility of late implantation, when the embryo is implanted 7-8 days after fertilization. Accordingly, a biochemical study will give a false negative result.

Medicine to help

There are two more ways to recognize pregnancy before delay:

  • Visit to a gynecologist. By contacting an experienced specialist, you can also find out the necessary information during a visual examination on a gynecological chair. Firstly, the uterine mucosa becomes bluish due to the abundant blood flow, the organ itself increases in size, and the cervix becomes softer.

This method requires additional confirmation, since the symptoms are differentiated from premenstrual syndrome.

  • Ultrasound. Such a diagnostic study will not only give the patient an answer to the main question, but will also exclude the presence of an ectopic attachment to the fetus. Using a special vaginal sensor, the doctor also determines the embryonic age by the nature of its development.

Nature will let you know about everything

It is also possible to determine pregnancy at home without any equipment. The human body carries centuries-old wisdom, and the female body always lets you know about any changes, be they positive or negative. Fertilization was no exception. In this case, it is not necessary to wait for the obvious fact - a delay in menstruation. It is enough to listen carefully to unusual sensations, for example, in a room with a comfortable temperature, a woman in an interesting position may feel a lack of air, she may feel hot. You can find out about other signs from the table.

Signs of pregnancy

What are the sensations associated with?

Nausea, vomiting

Early toxicosis is explained by the individual characteristics of the female body.

Changes in breast sensitivity and appearance

The appearance of a venous network on the mammary glands, darkening of the halos, and the release of white matter (colostrum) indicates an early stage of preparation of the breast for feeding.

Nagging pain in the lower abdomen

This symptom may occur within a week after conception. Requires a mandatory visit to a specialist. In some cases, indicates the development of the fertilized egg outside the uterus. Also, unpleasant sensations can accompany emotional outbursts.

Discharge of pink, brown shades

Many perceive it as premenstrual syndrome, but menstruation never begins, which indicates the likelihood of implantation bleeding, i.e. successful fertilization.

Increased sexual desire or complete apathy

Hormonal changes affect everyone differently. For some, it causes a strong desire for intimacy, for others, on the contrary, there is a lack of desire. Activity or inactivity may continue throughout pregnancy.

Unreasonable sleepiness and fatigue

Changes in hormonal levels due to daily increasing production of progesterone.

Changes in food preferences, increased hunger or, conversely, decreased hunger

19% of women experience extreme hunger. Others note a decrease in appetite. Doctors explain this by a different reaction to the invasion of trophoblast villi.

Problems with bowel movements, flatulence

There may be several factors:

  • neurogenic - strong feelings;
  • inactivity.
  • manifested gastrointestinal diseases;
  • poor nutrition;
  • binge eating.

Rapid pulse

The pulse is measured in a somewhat unusual way - through the stomach. Having dropped 3 fingers below the level of the navel, you need to press a little and feel the vibrations. During pregnancy they can be felt because... there is increased blood flow. If the result is negative, the audition is not recorded.

Enhanced sense of smell

Most odors will seem stronger because... Almost all sensations are greatly enhanced.

Manifestation of chronic diseases

Restructuring in the body almost always affects existing diseases that are in remission. During this period, their exacerbation may begin.

Experts do not consider such symptoms to be objective, because Most of the items presented are similar to premenstrual symptoms. However, most women who have gone through all stages of pregnancy indicate precisely such sensations.

How to determine pregnancy at home?

Let's figure out how to recognize pregnancy without a doctor and a pharmacy test. Moreover, in the early stages, the second option is a waste of money. We use traditional methods that our mothers and grandmothers used.

Iodine test

Before the test, you should not drink water for two hours and wash yourself using hygiene products. You must also refrain from urinating during this time. As with standard diagnostics, morning urine is used. It is worth considering that the material collected for this method is valid for only 10 minutes.

Having collected the liquid to be tested in a sterile container, moisten a strip of plain paper in it. Next, drop a few drops of iodine onto the surface. If the color changed and became blue, conception did not occur; if it is purple or lilac, the result is positive.

The effectiveness of iodine use is determined only by the initial stage of fertilization. At later stages, the readings are not reliable.

With soda

Since urine in pregnant women has a low acid composition, when adding 1 tsp. soda, the bubbling reaction will be minimal. As in the previous case, only the morning sample is used.

With potassium permanganate

In addition to urine, you will need 200 ml of warm water and potassium permanganate powder on the tip of a knife. Initially, you need to make a weak manganese solution. After obtaining a crimson tint, a gradual infusion of urine is performed. As a result, small white flakes are formed, and the color of the liquid remains unchanged. Such indicators are a sign of future motherhood.

With thermometer

Measuring basal body temperature is one of the most popular and effective ways to check pregnancy. Immediately after sleep, without getting out of bed, you need to insert a thermometer into one of the zones: anal, vaginal or oral. Measurements last for five minutes. Indicators are recorded daily with the obligatory indication of date, time and the result itself. If the temperature is stable at 36.8-37 °C, this indicates either ovulation or pregnancy. In the first case, such data will be available for 1-2 days, then they will decrease to 36.5-36.7 °C.

Traditional methods

Despite significant progress in medicine, many still prefer unconventional methods. This is because in each category there is a possibility of error, and deciding what to believe is an individual right. Learn more about how to understand that a girl is pregnant based on beliefs below.

Onion Helper

Place a couple of onions in separate containers filled with water. Define one of them as a positive result of fertilization, the other as a negative result. The result depends on the first steam that rises.

We use the ring

The action is carried out with an assistant. A wedding ring is used as the main ritual accessory. The object is placed on the hair, and the woman takes a lying position. A ring is hung over her belly and if the object begins to rotate to the sides, she can be congratulated on her future motherhood.

Regardless of the chosen method for determining the early period of fertilization, further actions are important: timely intake of multivitamin complexes for pregnant women, organization of proper activity and rest, as well as focusing on eating habits. All this will affect the future health of the future baby, and, accordingly, the peace of mind of his parents.

Every woman interested in this question wants to find an answer to it as soon as possible. And everyone has their own reasons for this: some wait with trepidation and hope for even the slightest hint of pregnancy, while others are shocked by the mere thought or suspicion of it. Fortunately for both, there are many ways to find out if you are pregnant and confirm your guesses. The most reliable, fast and quite reliable of them is. They are easy to use, inexpensive, available in every pharmacy and simply amaze with their variety: electronic, interactive and the simplest test strips.

How to accurately determine pregnancy without a test?

If you don’t have the test with you, but want to find out as early as possible, start measuring your basal temperature (during pregnancy it exceeds 37 degrees for about two weeks and beyond). This method is even more reliable than testing, so you can even start with it. The main thing is to carry out measurements correctly so that the results are as reliable as possible. And also keep in mind that the method of measuring basal temperature may only be valid for women with a regular menstrual cycle and good reproductive health (if there are no inflammatory and chronic processes in the pelvic organs).

More precisely, the question of whether you are pregnant or not can be answered by a gynecologist after an examination in a gynecological chair. And they are unlikely to make a mistake (especially in the early stages) - clinical methods for diagnosing pregnancy: a blood test for hCG and ultrasound with a transvaginal sensor.

How to determine pregnancy at home without a test

However, what to do when neither a pharmacy, nor a test, much less a gynecologist (there is no need to talk about a laboratory) is at hand? To do this, take a closer look at yourself, at all the changes occurring in the body (if any). The first signs of pregnancy - and signs of pregnancy in the first month - will help you find the answer to the exciting question on your own at home: does life exist inside you? Among the earliest, pregnant women with experience and doctors name a feeling of malaise, fatigue, drowsiness, a cold-like state, increased urination, minor pain in the lower abdomen, increased vaginal discharge, engorgement of the mammary glands and increased breast sensitivity, changes in taste preferences and even the nature of stool (may constipation or diarrhea will begin). Just keep in mind that all these are only indirect symptoms and cannot be taken as a final verdict. Many of these signs may accompany some painful conditions or be a manifestation of premenstrual syndrome.

And finally. If you observe absolutely no signs of pregnancy, and it is not possible to check using any of the methods mentioned, but you still suspect that fertilization has occurred, you can try your grandmother’s old methods. To do this, you may need simple improvised means, which are almost always found in the kitchen or in the medicine cabinet in any home, and sometimes you can determine pregnancy without a test without any special devices or substances at all:

  • Method 1: you need to lie on your back on a flat surface, relax and, placing your finger on the navel (and according to some sources, 7-8 centimeters below its level), feel if there is a pulse. If you feel a pulsation inside your navel, then you are pregnant, and, accordingly, if you don’t feel anything, then you are not.
  • Method 2: Collect the urine according to all the rules in a clean vessel and carefully drop iodine onto its surface. If the drop lingers for some time, the test should be taken as positive, and if there is no pregnancy, the iodine will immediately dissolve in the urine.
  • Method 3: soak a piece of paper in your own urine and drop a drop of the same iodine onto the sheet - and analyze the result. A change in color to blue indicates the absence of pregnancy, and the test should be considered positive if the color changes to lilac or purple.
  • Method 4: prepare a “cocktail” from your own urine and natural wine. Thank God, you won’t need to drink it, but you will have to consider the reaction. If the final product of your experiment is cloudy or curdled, then you are unlikely to be pregnant. Otherwise, the mixture of urine and wine remains clear. If you consider such a “test” to be a perversion, then you simply don’t know what else you can do to determine pregnancy at home without a test! Get ready...
  • Method 5: cook the previously collected urine according to all the rules, bringing it to a boil. Then pour it into a transparent container and take a closer look. During pregnancy, a flaky sediment forms in it after this, and in the absence of pregnancy, the urine will remain light and transparent. Naturally, there is no guarantee that the resulting flakes are not the protein present in the urine. But in general, none of the described methods can be considered reliable.

Whether you believe such popular diagnostics or not is up to you to decide. But you can check it out - it’s at least funny.

Hello! If you are a guy who is wondering how to tell if a girl is pregnant, then this article is especially for you. I will talk about how to find out the result without resorting to the help of a doctor, what symptoms a girl may experience, and answer all the questions that you cannot ask out loud.

Possible symptoms

Don't think that nausea will appear one day after you were intimate with a girl. Sometimes even in the first days of pregnancy there are no signs or symptoms at all. The young lady feels as usual, the same as always.

Signs of pregnancy appear in the first twenty weeks. If you are observant, you may notice drowsiness and excessive fatigue in your crush. Added to this is irritability towards you and others, perhaps loss of appetite and even weight loss. One of the most common signs is frequent running to the toilet. Just do not confuse it with cystitis!

If urination is painful, you should definitely consult a doctor. Cystitis can lead to serious problems.

Remember that the symptoms listed do not always mean pregnancy. It happens that a girl thinks that she is in an interesting position and the signs appear on their own. The so-called imaginary pregnancy. Guess alone cannot make an accurate conclusion. This is exactly what the tests were designed for.

Go to the pharmacy

In order not to act at random, I recommend that you purchase a pregnancy test at a pharmacy. Without it, it will only be guesswork, doubts and unnecessary nerves. It's much easier to do a test and find out. Although, of course, here the accuracy is only 95-99%, there is still a possibility of error.

So what are they? There is the most ancient, widespread and cheapest option. Test strip. It may cost you twenty rubles, but the result is the most dubious in relation to others.

In this case, you will have to collect your morning urine, which is very important, in a container and place the strip in the liquid. You will receive an answer in three to five minutes.

The second option is a tablet. It is more reliable and convenient to use. The package comes with a pipette that is used to collect urine. Most often, such options are used in medical institutions.

The most convenient and expensive option is inkjet. Here, part of the device only needs to be placed under the stream, which makes it undeniably more convenient to use. You can take the test at any time of the day, not necessarily in the morning. The result will show in a minute.

Which test to choose is up to you. Remember that it is necessary to check the expiration date. Otherwise the result will be unreliable.

You can do the test before your period is missed. But no one guarantees the exact result. To be sure, it is recommended to take the test again in the first days of your cycle.

The tests are convenient for use at home and the ability to find out the answer already in the early stages of pregnancy.

Contact a gynecologist

Of course, the most reliable option is to go to the doctor. The gynecologist takes blood and tells you the result after a few hours.

But there are times when you cannot see a doctor. Then a more convenient option for you would be to donate blood directly to the laboratory. The answer may be already in the evening if you applied in the morning.

Then you will have no doubt whether she is lying about pregnancy. How many days will it take for her to know the result? There are clinics that provide results on the same day, others report the next day. There are urgent tests, the answer can be received in two hours. It all depends on your wishes.

Another question that torments young people is whether this child is from me. Apart from a DNA test, nothing can determine for sure. Trust your girlfriend and love her.

Don't hesitate to ask clarifying questions. What worries you? How did you decide to find out if you were pregnant? What did your parents say?

The birth of a new life is a universal mechanism that is perfectly regulated by the female body. Unfortunately, a woman’s reproductive system is not able to convey the very first signs of pregnancy immediately after conception. This condition can be recognized only by the characteristic symptoms that develop at different stages of pregnancy. Some women experience early signs of pregnancy, while others do not notice any changes in their health.

The earlier a woman discovers pregnancy, the more time she will have to undergo specialized examination. It is worth considering that in the first days after conception there cannot be any obvious signs of pregnancy.

You can recognize the first symptoms that indicate pregnancy using a number of signs.

Lack of menstruation

Every woman knows about this symptom; it is considered the very first sign of pregnancy. When an egg is fertilized, the menstrual cycle is delayed, since the previously rejected endometrium is necessary for the fetus to fully develop. However, the first day of delay cannot be considered as a reliable sign, since the absence of menstruation is often caused by pathological changes in the organs of the reproductive system, stress, and hormonal disorders.

Enlargement and tenderness of the mammary glands

Women's breasts are very sensitive to hormonal changes in the body. When pregnancy occurs, there is a slight increase in breast volume, increased sensitivity of the nipples, as well as their soreness. Often in the area of the halo there is an increase in specific tubercles that were previously barely palpable.

Frequent urination

One of the early signs of pregnancy is an increase in the frequency of the urge to urinate. This sign is formed against the background of increased production of hCG (chorionic gonadotropin). The urge to urinate can be bothersome even when the bladder is not full. This is observed mainly at night.

Change in taste preferences

The increasing level of hormones causes a change in taste preferences. Those food combinations that were previously unacceptable for a woman become objects of preference and vice versa. Also, a woman may experience a metallic taste in her mouth.

Fatigue and drowsiness

These signs most often occur during the first pregnancy. An increase in the intensity of metabolic processes in the body provokes a feeling of fatigue, drowsiness and a desire to rest. The hormone progesterone produced has a relaxing, calming effect. The feeling of fatigue haunts women throughout the day.

Nausea

The appearance of this symptom is typical for 1.5 months of pregnancy. Sometimes the symptom occurs on the twentieth day from the moment of conception. Some women feel nausea earlier. This sign cannot be called one of the most reliable, since the feeling of nausea is characteristic of diseases of the digestive system, cardiovascular and central nervous systems. Only in combination with other signs does nausea indicate the development of pregnancy.

When can you expect the first manifestations?

In this matter, it is necessary to take into account the individuality of each woman’s body. Early symptoms of pregnancy can be observed as early as 8-10 days after the fertilization of the egg. This period may vary, depending on the body's sensitivity to hormonal changes.

In medical practice, there have been cases where women recognized fertilization already on the 5th day.

In this context, we are talking about women who listen carefully to their body and feel the slightest fluctuations in their condition. On the 20th day of the cycle, signs of pregnancy take on a characteristic appearance.

Minor signs of pregnancy

Less likely signs of pregnancy include many symptoms that can be observed in the first days:

  • Increase in basal temperature. When a woman regularly tracks her menstrual cycle, she may experience an increase in basal temperature up to 37 °C. A change in this indicator is facilitated by high levels of progesterone.
  • Feeling of heaviness in the pelvic area. In the event of conception, changes occur in the blood supply to the pelvic organs. Against this background, a woman may feel a feeling of heaviness and squeezing.
  • Insomnia. The feeling of fatigue is often replaced by increased nervous excitability and insomnia.
  • Lower abdominal pain. This symptom may occur during the formation of ectopic implantation or miscarriage. If the pregnancy that occurs is spontaneously terminated, then in combination with the appearance of bloody discharge from the vagina.
  • Lower back pain. When conception occurs, a pulling sensation may be felt. In addition, this symptom may indicate kidney disease.
  • Headache. Changes in hormonal levels are accompanied by neurological symptoms. A pregnant woman may experience spontaneous headaches.
  • Increased appetite. Acceleration of metabolic processes during pregnancy causes increased appetite.
  • Enhanced sense of smell and taste. If a woman previously did not pay attention to certain odors, then from the moment she becomes pregnant she may experience an aversion to them. The same applies to the taste parameters of some products.
  • Irritability, mood swings. Many pregnant women complain of emotional lability and sudden mood swings.
  • Implantation bleeding. One of the signs of pregnancy at 1 week, which indicates the implantation of a fertilized egg into the uterine wall.
  • Digestive disorders. Vomiting, constipation or diarrhea, and belching may appear as secondary signs of pregnancy.
  • Weight change. As the pregnant body strives to provide the developing fetus with essential nutrients, a woman may notice an increase in body weight.
  • Restless sleep. Hormonal changes affect a woman’s emotional background. Expectant mothers may have difficulty falling asleep.
  • Tingling in the uterus. This symptom occurs quite rarely, since not every woman can recognize it. Local changes in the uterine cavity can cause a tingling sensation.
  • Feeling hot and chilly. This symptom has nothing to do with a violation of the body’s thermoregulation. Such reactions occur against the background of hormonal imbalance.
  • Discomfort in a sitting position. This sign is due to increased blood supply in the pelvis.
  • Swelling of the face, arms and legs. Pregnancy is characterized by fluid retention in the body.
  • Acne. If a woman has not previously experienced skin problems, then during pregnancy acne may appear in the facial area. This happens due to changes in hormonal levels.
  • Bloating. An increase in hormone levels helps to relax the intestinal muscles. The result is flatulence.
  • Increased venous pattern on the chest. From the moment the egg is fertilized, the female body begins preparations for feeding the child. The characteristic venous pattern indicates the preparation of the mammary glands for lactation.
  • Darkening of the skin around the nipples. Another symptom of preparation for lactation.
  • Redness of the facial skin. Changes in hormonal levels affect the tone of capillaries, which become prone to expansion.
  • Change in pigmentation of the white line of the abdomen. Pregnant women develop a characteristic pigment “track” running from the navel to the upper edge of the pubic bone.
  • Exacerbation of hemorrhoids. If a woman suffered before pregnancy, then with its onset an exacerbation of the disease may occur.
  • Cramps of the calf muscles. Another minor sign indicating a change in metabolism.
  • Low or high blood pressure. Most often, expectant mothers are prone to increased blood pressure, however, a decrease in this parameter may also indicate pregnancy.
  • Reduced immunity. In order for pregnancy to proceed smoothly, immunity is suppressed in the female body. Frequent cases of colds and acute respiratory viral infections can also serve as symptoms of pregnancy.
  • Thrush. This fungal disease occurs when local immunity decreases.

Signs of pregnancy before missed period

It is known that pregnancy can be determined using a rapid test on 1–2 days of delay. But there are signs that may indicate conception even before you notice that your period is late in this cycle.

For example, due to the fact that more blood flows to the genitals, vaginal discharge becomes more abundant.

Signs of pregnancy with a girl

If you believe folk signs, then by external signs you can determine not only the pregnancy itself, but also the gender of the unborn baby. It is believed that if a woman is waiting for her sweet daughter, then her appearance does not change for the better - swelling appears, the condition of the skin worsens, etc.

In addition, the expectant mother suffers from toxicosis, sudden mood swings and strange taste preferences.

Signs of pregnancy with a boy

What are the “symptoms” of expecting a son? Of course, everything is the other way around - while the expectant mother is carrying a boy, she becomes prettier, her skin becomes cleaner, and her hair becomes thicker.

The pregnant woman’s mood and well-being are also at their best. Although not everything is so rosy – there are some that are not the most pleasant.

Signs of an ectopic pregnancy

Unfortunately, pregnancy does not always develop successfully. It is even more important to detect signs of deviation in such a situation. In the case of an ectopic pregnancy, its development threatens the woman’s life, because the growth of the fetus is fraught with rupture of the organ in which it is attached.

Diagnosis of pregnancy in the early stages

Specialized diagnostic methods will make it possible to reliably determine the signs of pregnancy already on the 5th day of gestation.

Pregnancy test

Rapid tests do not always detect pregnancy immediately after conception. This is due to the fact that the level of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) increases gradually and remains normal in the early stages. A reliable pregnancy test result can only be obtained from the 14th day after conception.

Gynecological examination

As a result of a gynecological examination, possible signs of pregnancy can be determined. These include:

  • an increase in the size of the uterus and a change in its consistency;
  • change in color of the external genitalia;
  • softening of the isthmus of the uterus;
  • increased uterine motility;
  • displacement of the uterus.

These five landmarks indicate the implantation of the egg.

Increased hCG levels

To determine this indicator, a laboratory blood test is performed. The maximum information content of the analysis is observed from the 13-14th day of gestation. An increase in the hormone also occurs with diseases of the reproductive system and ectopic egg implantation.

Ultrasound

An informative way to detect pregnancy in the early stages is ultrasound. Fertilization can be confirmed in the first weeks after conception. The study is carried out using an abdominal or transvaginal sensor.

Carrying a child is a great responsibility that the expectant mother takes on. In order for the baby to develop healthy, a woman needs to give up any bad habits and pay attention to her diet and lifestyle.

Any woman who plans to become pregnant or, conversely, wants to avoid it, often thinks about how to determine pregnancy in the early stages. If the first one wants to quickly find out whether her dream of being a mother is coming true, then the second one needs to act quickly in case she is ready for an abortion. Both need to listen to their body, monitor changes in it and conduct several simple experiments in order to recognize pregnancy.

First of all, pay attention to the state of your body: at the slightest change, it will react and show you certain signs - you just need to notice them in time and decipher them.

First of all, remember that everything depends on the woman’s menstrual cycle: conception occurs only at a certain time - 1-2 days after ovulation. The cycle should always be counted from the first day of your period - when a new egg prepares to be released from the ovary. It matures towards the middle of the cycle: that is, if it lasts 28 days (standard), then the cell is ready on the 14th day.

Along with ovulation, a woman’s body is already preparing for conception: the endometrium becomes softer and thicker in order to be ready to receive the fertilized egg; the follicle, which releases a ready, mature egg, degenerates into the corpus luteum and begins to produce progesterone - it is needed for successful implantation into the walls of the uterus and maintaining pregnancy. In addition, basal body temperature increases to a comfortable 37 degrees for conception. According to experts, the body remains in this state for just over a week - and thanks to this, pregnancy can be determined in the early stages.

If conception does not happen, then all body indicators return to normal: body temperature drops, the corpus luteum degrades, and the endometrium exfoliates and comes out along with menstruation. And the cycle begins again.

First signs of pregnancy (video):

If conception has occurred, the fertilized egg continues its journey through the fallopian tube, and at the same time its division and development begin. After a week or a little more, the implantation of the fertilized egg occurs - immediately from this moment one of the fetal membranes - the chorion - begins to produce human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). This hormone begins to accumulate in the body, and it is its presence that pregnancy tests show.

What is basal body temperature and how to measure it?

Early pregnancy is manifested by the fact that a woman's basal body temperature increases. It can be measured using a regular pharmacy thermometer by inserting it rectally (into the rectum) or into the vagina. In order to almost accurately determine pregnancy, the temperature must be measured for several days in a row, always strictly following the rules.

So, first of all, you need to prepare in advance: do not drink a lot of liquid at night and do not eat watery fruits; Place a clock and thermometer, as well as a notepad and pen, next to the bed. This is necessary to measure temperature without getting up or changing body position - the fewer body movements, the more reliable the measurement result. This ritual must be performed at a certain time every day. You also need to write down in advance in your notebook the day of the menstrual cycle that the woman is currently undergoing - if the basal temperature indicator differs from the norm, then it will be possible to recognize pregnancy.

So, how to correctly measure your basal temperature and find out about pregnancy at home:

  1. without getting out of bed and moving as little as possible, insert the thermometer and wait 5-8 minutes, motionless;
  2. Record the thermometer readings, date and time in a notepad.

Thanks to these observations, it will be possible to draw up a graph of changes in nasal temperature: at the beginning of the menstrual cycle, it remains at around 36.5 - 36.7 degrees; and by the period of ovulation it rises to approximately 37. If conception does not occur, then when ovulation stops, the basal temperature drops to the average level; If conception occurs, this temperature will no longer decrease. This is how you can determine pregnancy before a delay and without tests.

The body signals early pregnancy

Assessing your feelings will also help in determining pregnancy in the early stages. Increased temperature (make sure that it is not associated with any inflammatory processes in your body), which occurs due to the fact that the body recognizes the nascent embryo as a foreign body and the immune system begins its fight against it, is accompanied by breast swelling and discoloration nipple halo.

Also, in women, even in the early stages of pregnancy, nasal congestion occurs, since after conception the blood flow increases, which entails increased blood supply to all organs; As a result, the mucous membranes in the nose swell, which interferes with breathing. If it is not a cold or a chronic runny nose, then prolonged nasal congestion can help recognize pregnancy.

In addition to all this, a sign of early pregnancy in the early stages may be tingling sensations and pain that pull in the lower abdomen or in the navel area. This feeling is typical when the embryo leaves the fallopian tubes and implants into the walls of the uterus. At the same time, slight bleeding is possible, which some women may mistake for the beginning of menstruation, but this, on the contrary, will help recognize pregnancy even without tests: at the time of implantation, a blood vessel is damaged, which causes spotting bleeding. Unlike menstruation, it is one-time and much less abundant - this is precisely what is a sign of early pregnancy.

Not immediately, but soon the woman will notice painful salivation and vomiting - most pregnant women suffer from toxicosis. Also, excess weight will certainly begin to appear, taste preferences will change due to increased hormonal levels; fatigue and tiredness appear; the sense of smell, vision, and taste buds will become more acute; your mood will change frequently - all this can accurately determine pregnancy without tests.

You can also pay attention to sexual attraction: women either begin to refuse sex altogether, or, conversely, experience a strong attraction. This, of course, is not an accurate indicator by which pregnancy can be recognized, but it is worth paying attention to.

Pregnancy tests

When the body has already given all the signs that a woman may be pregnant in the early stages, you can go to a pharmacy or a regular supermarket for. Medicine has already reached the point where it is possible to accurately determine pregnancy with a probability of up to 100%.

It would be more effective to donate blood for hCG: as pregnancy progresses, the amount of this hormone in the body increases, although only very sensitive tests can recognize pregnancy at an early stage. However, by the level of hCG in the blood, pregnancy can be determined before the delay even a few days after conception.

How to choose the right test? Just remember that the samples sold at the pharmacy have a sensitivity of 10 to 25 Mme/ml - and the lower this number, the greater the sensitivity. A test with the number 10 will detect hCG and can show pregnancy as early as four weeks.

Ultrasound and observation by a doctor

To make sure you are 100% pregnant, you should definitely consult a gynecologist. In addition to the blood test for hCG, an ultrasound will show the exact result. The test will not only confirm or deny whether a woman is pregnant, but will also rule out ectopic pregnancy. Using an ultrasound machine, the doctor will be able to see the developing embryo and the place of its fixation, as well as calculate its size. Using a vaginal sensor, you can accurately determine the “age” of the embryo - that is, how many weeks it is.

A chairside examination is also required: a specialist will feel the pregnancy in the early stages, noticing changes in the tissues of the reproductive organs. And even though the fertilized egg itself will not be imperceptible, the mucous membranes will be blue due to increased blood supply, the uterus itself will become more swollen, and its cervix will be softer.

Despite the progress in science to determine pregnancy, many still do not neglect to use traditional methods and check signs to determine whether conception has occurred. It is worth admitting that among such methods, in addition to some fabulous ones (like putting two halves of one onion in a glass of water and watching whether the one you wished for will produce greens), there are also ones that actually work? Which are based on centuries of research on women.

First, you can boil the urine that you collected in the morning: bring it to 90 degrees and transfer it to a clean glass container. During pregnancy, white flakes should appear in the urine. This way you can determine pregnancy without any tests.

Secondly, you can determine the position using iodine - in two ways. You can apply urine to paper or cloth and drop iodine onto the stain: if the color turns purple, then the woman is pregnant; if it's brown, no. You can also add one drop of iodine to a jar of morning urine: if it lingers on the surface without falling apart, then there is a pregnancy; if iodine dissolves instantly, conception has not occurred.

Thirdly, you can resort to the help of soda: pour a teaspoon of powder into 150-200 ml of urine collected in the morning and observe. If hissing begins in the container, then there is no pregnancy; but if there is no reaction, you can expect an addition to the family.

However, it is worth remembering that you can determine pregnancy at home, and even with the help of folk signs, without getting carried away. The most accurate way was and remains a visit to a gynecologist, an ultrasound specialist and testing.
