6. We make two round or longitudinal holes on the drawstring for the exit of a narrow belt-cord.
7. We process the holes manually so that the cord can move freely in the internal space.
8. We sew the shoulder seams, leaving a margin for making a cord 2 cm wide.
9. Iron and machine sew the shoulder seams, folding the material inward. So we get 4 drawstrings on two shoulders.
10. We thread the cords through the drawstrings, and then tighten and tie them into one strong knot. We ended up with a slightly reassembled shoulder part.

Sewing technique:

1. Lay out the knitted fabric in one layer so that the right side is on top.
2. We fold two parts for the front and back of the future outfit with the right sides facing each other.
3. We sew edges 105 cm long on one side at a distance of 5 mm.

Tunic dress is a universal thing which can be worn in any season. The item can be combined with leggings, breeches, jeans, trousers and shorts. To avoid spending a lot on a tunic dress, sew it yourself. Select the fabric according to your preferences.

1. Make a pattern. To do this, draw a vertical segment (AB) on paper, which is equal to the distance from the neck line down to the desired length of the tunic.
2. Measure the half-circumference of the hips + 3 cm. Perpendicular to the previous segment, set aside a segment (CD) of the obtained length.
3. Decide on the width of the neck. The width can exceed the head circumference by 3 cm or be much larger if you want the tunic to fall off one shoulder. Having decided on the neck size, mark point G on the paper.
4. Set aside the sleeve length from this point. The sleeve length should extend 2 cm beyond the wrist line. Draw a sleeve line on paper at a slight angle. In the middle of the segment, step back 2.5 cm and draw a line point to the wrist.
5. Mark the sleeve width (PP). The sleeve can be made wide or narrow - at your discretion. Round off the joints of the sleeve with the main panel.
6. Cut out the resulting pattern and transfer it to the fabric. Cut out the tunic pieces, leaving a 3cm seam allowance.
7. Finish the neckline with bias tape. Fold up the hem and baste it by machine or by hand. Do the same with the cuffs.

The dimensions of my pareo are 146x98cm. My size is M. I think this tunic will fit girls with sizes S to L.

The first thing we need to do is fold the fabric with the already finished edges in half. As a result, we get a canvas of 73x98cm. We pin around the perimeter with pins.

On the fold in the center, pin the expected neck line.

Fold it in half again so that you get a canvas of 73x49cm.

We will measure the neckline from the fold.

From the left corner along the top edge we measure 14cm. Measure 3 cm from the top edge down. Draw a smooth line. This is the neckline from the back.

We do the same thing, but measure down not 3cm from the top edge, but 6cm (or 3cm from the back neck line). We draw a smooth line. This is the front neck line.

Next along the front part we need to mark the line for the sleeves. To do this, fold the canvas as you originally folded 73x98cm. On the front part we measure 20 cm from the right and left edges. Draw a straight line 48cm long towards the top of the product. I just pinned it together. Along these lines you will need to lay two even lines.

The photo below shows the lightest model of a tunic; it is based on a piece of fabric 150 cm wide and 65 cm high; we bend the two upper corners or cut them into a semicircle, as shown in the figure below:

We make a drawstring and thread a lace from the same fabric into it; the length of the lace needs to be adjusted during fitting, or leave long ties to adjust the length while wearing the tunic.

We make the lace from a strip of fabric 3 cm wide and 50 cm long.

You can not cut off the corner in a semicircle, but bend it as shown in the photo, sew at a distance of 1 cm from the fold - you will get a drawstring.

This tunic is worn by simply wrapping it around the figure, it is very comfortable and practical.

It is better to sew it from a fabric whose cut does not fray; if the cut frays, then you just need to process all the edges of the rectangle with a double hem.

We cut off the resulting triangle.

We sew with a straight stitch both layers of fabric on the left side in the drawing.

We measure the semi-circumference of the hips, add 8-10 centimeters for the freedom of fit (). We set aside the resulting value from the left edge of the fabric and lay another vertical line, it will form the second side of the tunic. (point 3 in the figure)

We process the remaining raw cuts, folding the allowances to the wrong side.

Sew a half-sun beach tunic

This tunic model is based on a semicircle - a half-sun, from which beautiful skirts and dresses are sewn, but tunics are no less good. Now we will look in detail at how half sun.

For such a tunic you will need a piece of fabric 150 cm wide and 150 cm high - a square, which we fold in half to make a rectangle with sides 150 and 75 cm, the fold of the fabric is on top. (Fig. 1)

Fold the fabric in half again to form a square and cut out a semicircle from the upper left corner (Fig. 2) - this is our neckline, the neckline can be of any depth. Start cutting with a small one (for example, first take the radius 15 cm, if necessary, then increase the neck).

There are two seams left to make.

Based on the size of your neckline, the width of the shoulder seam will vary (Fig. 3). For example, take 5 cm, step back from the edge of the neck along the fold line of the fabric 5 cm, then set aside 20 cm - this is our armhole. Cut it out (just cut the fabric along the fold). We process the armhole sections by folding the allowances to the wrong side.

Sew a bat tunic. Pattern

For such a tunic, we will need light translucent fabric (chiffon or silk) so that the tunic looks light and flighty (like a “bat mouse”).

The amount of fabric depends on the desired length of the product, with a width of 150 cm we can measure the desired length (for example 90 cm), then we take the height of the fabric 180 cm (two lengths).

Sewing process:

• Fold the fabric in half, fold the fabric on top
• Cut out the neck with a cone in the center
• We measure the half-circumference of the hips ()
• From the center of the fabric we set aside half the half-circumference (a quarter of the hip circumference) + the increase in freedom, mark the verticals - these are our sides of the tunic.
• We make drawstrings and stretch the lace (I wrote in detail about this process when I sewed this dress from oil knitwear)

The area for the hand can also be fixed; we retreat 20 cm from the upper fold on the right and left, and sew some distance (for example, 10 cm) so that the place for threading the hand is marked.

Another simple beach tunic pattern

For this model we will need 2 m of fabric with a width of 150 cm; the fabric can be either stretch or lighter.

We measure the circumference of the chest. We cut out a strip of fabric with a length = chest circumference and a height of 20 cm. We gather it into a fold in the center of this strip, securing it with a long braid from the same fabric. At the back in the center we connect both sides of this strip and sew them together; if the fabric does not stretch, then you need to insert a secret zipper.

Next, cut out two rectangles of the required length (we measure the length from the line under the chest). We measure the half-circumference of the horizontal line under the breast with a centimeter (essentially the half-circumference of the base of the bra). We place a centimeter in the center of the fabric and draw a semicircle, the perimeter of which = the half-circumference of the horizontal line under the chest.

Sew both rectangles along the side seams.

We sew the resulting part to the folded bodice, the side seams are marked in the diagram below, they should match. If we cut out the strip for the bodice as a single piece, then during the fitting we mark the position of the supposed side seam with pins. And we connect these points with the side seams of the main part of the tunic.

Pattern of a beach tunic from a T-shirt

• We cut out two identical parts based on an extended T-shirt
• We process the cut of the semicircle with a zig-zag or hem the allowances on the wrong side. You can turn up the seam allowances twice.
• Then we sew both parts along the shoulder sections.
• And now, as shown in point 7 in the figure below, we try on the tunic and fix the position of the “corners of the middle of the armholes” (I don’t know what else to call this part, but you’ll understand it faster from the picture). We correct their position and adjust the freedom of fit of the tunic on the figure.

Oval beach tunic pattern

The basis of this model beach tunic an oval is taken. We cut it out to the required length, first measure the length from the base of the neck + 15 cm (so that we can then cut off these 15 cm from the top of the oval, and the intended length will not be affected).

The width of the oval should be such that it fits around the figure with a slight overlap. To determine the width, measure the circumference of the hips + 30 cm.

We sew step by step:

• Cut 15 cm from the top of the oval.
• We bend the top edge by 3 cm and make a drawstring.
• We cut out a lace - a ribbon from the same fabric, when cut, the width of the strip is 8 cm, the length is 60 cm, in the finished form the width of the strip is 3 cm. We thread the ribbon into the drawstring.

Today we’ll figure out how to quickly sew a beach tunic with your own hands using the easiest patterns! Today this post is for you! Since each of these tunic models can be sewn in half an hour! How to quickly sew a tunic pattern Below the photo shows the lightest model of a tunic, it is based on a piece of fabric 150 cm wide and 65 cm high, we bend the two upper corners or cut them in a semicircle, as shown in the figure below: We make a drawstring and thread a cord into it from that same fabric, the length of the lace needs to be adjusted during fitting, or leave long ties to adjust the length while wearing the tunic. We make the lace from a strip of fabric 3 cm wide and 50 cm long. You can not cut off the corner in a semicircle, but bend it as shown in photo, sew at a distance of 1 cm from the fold - you get a drawstring. This tunic is put on by simply wrapping it around the figure, it is very comfortable and practical. It is better to sew it from a fabric whose cut does not fray; if the cut frays, then you just need to process all the edges of the rectangle with a double hem. The entire sewing process will take you no more than 30 minutes! Or you can make a beach tunic in a similar way that will cover the back (unlike the previous model). To do this, take a fabric with a width of 150 cm and a length = the desired length of the tunic, and sew laces on both upper corners, as in the figure below. We also process the edges of the rectangle so that the open cut does not crumble. The next model is just as beautiful! And sewing this beach tunic will be quite simple! For its basis, we take a piece of fabric 150 cm wide and 75 cm high (point 1 in the figure below), fold the fabric in half so that the fold of the fabric is on top (point 2 in the figure below) . We measure the distance between the right armpit and the base of the neck on the left with a centimeter (for example, 40 cm). We draw a straight line 40 cm long along the oblique in the upper left corner (the left corner - if we look at the drawing, on the finished product it will be the right side). We cut off the resulting triangle. We sew with a straight stitch both layers of fabric on the left side in the drawing. We measure the semi-circumference of the hips, add 8-10 centimeters for the freedom of fit (see more details about increases in clothing). We set aside the resulting value from the left edge of the fabric and lay another vertical line, it will form the second side of the tunic. (point 3 in the figure) We process the remaining unprocessed sections, folding the allowances to the wrong side. The tunic is ready! Sew a half-sun beach tunic This tunic model is based on a semicircle - a half-sun, from which beautiful skirts and dresses are sewn, but tunics are no less good. Now we will look in detail at how to sew a half-sun beach tunic. For such a tunic you will need a piece of fabric 150 cm wide and 150 cm high - a square, which we fold in half to make a rectangle with sides 150 and 75 cm, the fold of the fabric is on top. (Fig. 1) Fold the fabric in half again to make a square and cut out a semicircle from the upper left corner (Fig. 2) - this is our neck, the neck can be of any depth. Start cutting with a small one (for example, first take the radius 15 cm, if necessary, then increase the neck). There are two seams left to make. Based on the size of your neckline, the width of the shoulder seam will vary (Fig. 3). For example, take 5 cm, step back from the edge of the neckline along the fold line of the fabric 5 cm, then set aside 20 cm - this is our armhole. Cut it out (just cut the fabric along the fold). We process the armhole sections, folding the allowances to the wrong side. Sew a bat tunic. Pattern For such a tunic, we will need a light translucent fabric (chiffon or silk) so that the tunic looks light and flighty (like a bat). The amount of fabric depends on the desired length of the product, with a width of 150 cm we can measure the desired length (for example 90 cm), then we take the height of the fabric 180 cm (two lengths). Sewing process: Fold the fabric in half, fold the fabric at the top. Cut out the neckline with a cone in the center. Measure the half-circumference of the hips (read how to take measurements here). From the center of the fabric, set aside half the half-circumference (a quarter of the hip circumference) + an increase in freedom, mark the verticals - these are our sides of the tunic. We make drawstrings and stretch the lace (I wrote in detail about this process when I sewed this dress from butter knitwear). The area for the arm can also be fixed, we retreat 20 cm from the upper fold on the right and left, and sew some distance (for example, 10 cm), so that the place for putting your hand in is marked. Here is another similar model, only floor length: Another simple beach tunic pattern For this model we will need 2 m of fabric with a width of 150 cm, the fabric can be either stretch or lighter. We measure the circumference of the chest. We cut out a strip of fabric with a length = chest circumference and a height of 20 cm. We gather it into a fold in the center of this strip, securing it with a long braid from the same fabric. At the back in the center we connect both sides of this strip and sew them together; if the fabric does not stretch, then you need to insert a secret zipper. Next, cut out two rectangles of the required length (we measure the length from the line under the chest). We measure the half-circumference of the horizontal line under the breast with a centimeter (essentially the half-circumference of the base of the bra). We place a centimeter in the center of the fabric and draw a semicircle, the perimeter of which = the half-circumference of the horizontal line under the chest. Sew both rectangles along the side seams. We sew the resulting part to the folded bodice, the side seams are marked in the diagram below, they should match. If we cut out the strip for the bodice as a single piece, then during the fitting we mark the position of the supposed side seam with pins. And we connect these points with the side seams of the main part of the tunic. Pattern of a beach tunic from a T-shirt This model of a beach tunic is based on a T-shirt. We lay it out on the fabric and draw new contours, leaving only the shoulder seams and neck depth unchanged. If it suits you, move the armhole to the side and draw a large semicircle, you should get a long half of an oval. The length of the oval depends on the desired length of the tunic. The photo shows a blouse, but in my opinion, this model will look better and brighter if it is made longer. We sew step by step: We cut out two identical parts based on an extended T-shirt. We process the cut of the semicircle with a zig-zag or hem the allowances on the wrong side. You can turn up the seam allowances twice. Then we sew both parts along the shoulder sections. We process the neckline and armholes with bias tape. And now, as shown in point 7 in the figure below, we try on the tunic and fix the position of the “corners of the middle of the armholes” (I don’t know what else to call this part, but you’ll understand it faster from the picture). We correct their position and adjust the freedom of fit of the tunic on the figure. Pattern of a beach tunic from an oval. An oval is taken as the basis for this model of a beach tunic. We cut it out to the required length, first measure the length from the base of the neck + 15 cm (so that we can then cut off these 15 cm from the top of the oval, and the intended length will not be affected). The width of the oval should be such that it fits around the figure with a slight overlap. To determine the width, measure the circumference of the hips + 30 cm. Sew step by step: Cut off 15 cm from the top of the oval. We bend the top edge by 3 cm and make a drawstring. We cut out a lace - a ribbon from the same fabric; when cut, the width of the strip is 8 cm, the length is 60 cm, when finished the width of the strip is 3 cm. We thread the ribbon into the drawstring. That's it. Wear such a tunic with a beautiful belt.
