We make cuffs. Several MK. Cuff earrings: where to buy, what to wear, how to make them yourself How to make cuffs with your own hands from a hairpin

Childbirth

Anna Titova (Lady Anna) is a master of working with wire of the highest level. Of course, her most memorable ear cuffs are dragons, but Anna’s other jewelry invariably catches the eye. There is something attractive and alive about them. In an interview for our website, Anna will tell you how she manages to create her unique, alluring ear cuffs.

How did you learn about cuffs and why did you decide to make them?

Once upon a time, a very, very long time ago, I liked to wear simple rings on my ears to match my earrings - silver and gold - and shock everyone, “Do you still have holes?!” Later, I don’t even remember where and how I saw something, but I made the first cuffs from silver-plated wire with pomegranate chips (judging by the name of the file in the archive, the source of inspiration was something foreign). Then I made a set for a friend’s girlfriend. A pendant and two cuffs (one of which a friend lost during transportation).

Inspired by the result and the “Ahmi-sighs”, I made a few more in a set. Some went their separate ways as friends, a couple remained in the “archive.” Then, for a long time, I lost interest in cuffs - because the clips did not always hold well, and some clients had ear pain from the cuffs. I returned to the idea of ear cuffs after the birth of my son, when I had to urgently restore my wire twisting skills. I abandoned simple fasteners and went to the “Indian” side - with options for clasping the ear from the very top of the auricle to the lobe. This is how the cuff in the “Bronze Wolf” set was born.

Friends and clients squealed “AAAH!! What things, what new items!” and new fantasy cuffs poured out like from a cornucopia :)

At the end of last year, a wonderful client inspired me to create a model that was fundamentally new to me (sometimes I even think that I invented something perfect). Cuff-earphone “Wing” from the Blue Gothic set.

And already this year, unable to withstand the pressure of clients’ requests, I returned to the Dragons. They are infinitely different, wise and beautiful.

Where do you get inspiration for creating new cuffs?

Frankly, I love making things to order. Asking a person what he likes in life, what he wants to see and do in himself is very important to me. And the main reward in this process (besides satisfaction and material compensation, of course;)) is the client’s exclamation: “How did you guess?!” "I like it so!" This is how the “Leaves”, “Shell”, and “Bird of Happiness” cuffs were created.

Sometimes I work “out of inspiration.” That is, I just turn on music or a movie and draw what I think. And then I sit down and, swearing at myself: “And who could come up with the idea that you can connect two wires like this?!” - creating a masterpiece. Or a cute little thing. Or just a nice decoration for someone. What materials do you use? When making cuffs, I most often use silver-plated wire. Occasionally copper - and almost never brass. It's a very capricious metal. In addition to wire, various accessories are used - silver-plated and “Tibetan silver”, natural stones, crystal, glass, Japanese and Czech beads.

How would you describe your customers - what kind of people are they?

My customers are always creative and extraordinary people. They love the unusual and beautiful. They understand the peculiarities of the creative process and manual work. I love almost every one of them. I like it when my jewelry helps highlight the natural beauty of a girl, when owning it makes a person happier and more joyful.

Which cuffs are your favorite? Do you wear them yourself?

Now I almost never wear cuffs, just earrings with rings in my ears - I have to often take off and put on earrings to photograph products, and except for the rings, everything gets in the way :). I really like all my dragons, although I fall into deep sadness when I hear “Can I have exactly the same one?” In general, I prefer to create something unique, to create for each individual sorceress hidden in the soul of any woman. I believe that wearing exactly the same jewelry is the same as asking for exactly the same appearance - it is impractical and unnatural. After all, each of us is unique.

I am grateful to the earcuff.ru portal for the renewed interest in these wonderful jewelry and for the inspiration. I will be glad to see you among my clients, if what I do is close to you :)

This tutorial shows you how to create a very expressive cuff for the upper part of the ear.

You will need scissors, a pen or pencil, and 6 inches of wire.

Wrap the wire around the handle like in the picture.

Do the same on the other side.

Continue wrapping until the cuff is the desired length.

Remove the cuff from the handle and cut the wire, leaving a tip 5 mm long.

Bend the beginning and end of the wire into rings. You can use a pen refill or a toothpick for this.

You should end up with something like this.

Pinch the cuff evenly along the entire length so that the space between the bends is about 5 mm. The wire is easy to squeeze with your hands.

That's all, the cuff is ready - if you made it too wide, you can additionally bend the wire on the ear.

Making luxurious cuff earrings with pearl pendants

A new master class will help you make truly luxurious cuffs with pearl pendants. The cuff is made based on earrings from the Japanese company Transvestite.

To create a cuff with your own hands, you will need unnecessary pearl beads (or a set of beads), thick and thin wire, a set of rings for jewelry (you can make them yourself from thin wire).

First you need to make a ring for the cuffs. Cut about 40 cm of wire. Measure 7 cm and bend it in the opposite direction.

The resulting double wire will be the base of the cuff - bend it to the shape of the back of the ear.

The rest of the wire must be wrapped around the base, making small loops. The number of loops should correspond to the number of chains that you want to attach to the cuff. Rings can be made using round nose pliers or by wrapping wire around a toothpick.

This is what the base of the cuff should look like in the end.

Then you need to attach it to the pearls. Pass the wire through the pearl and make small rings on both sides.

Using jewelry rings, connect the pearls to the base for the cuff, and also connect the pearls to each other in a chain.

Here is a simplified diagram of how chains with beads should be arranged.

And here is the final version.

simple ear cuff

1. Cut a piece of wire 6.5 cm.

3. Also fold the left side down.

4. Make two loops on the edges with round nose pliers or wrap the ends with a toothpick.

5. Using a round object such as a pencil, bend the sides inward.

6. The bottom loop can be used to secure chains and pendants.

A more complex version of the cuff

1. Cut a piece of wire 12.5 cm.

2. Bend the right side of the wire 2 cm 180° up.

3. Repeat the bend again on the right.

4. Make a loop on the right edge using pliers or wrap the wire around a toothpick.

5. Fold the bottom 90° down in the middle.

6. Put on the bead and bend the wire another 90°.

7. Repeat the bend in the other direction so that the bends correspond to the size of the bead.

8. Make a loop at the end of the wire as in step 4.

9. Using a round object, such as a pencil, bend the sides inward.

10. Attach additional accessories to the resulting cuff.

This time we are going to make fashionable ear jewelry called cuffs.

Today we will talk about such a fashionable and stylish decoration as cuffs. Cuff, if anyone doesn’t know, is a special ear decoration that does not require piercings (although one piercing will still be needed sometimes). With the help of a cuff you can decorate not only your earlobe, but also your neck, hair and temple.

A little about history. Cuffs are one of the oldest jewelry in the world, dating back several thousand years BC. This decoration was especially popular in Ancient Greece and Ancient India. Remember Angelina Jolie as the queen in the film Alexander? It was there that she had gorgeous ear cuffs on her ears.

DIY cuffs

For the past few years, cuffs have been one of the fashion trends. Famous celebrities wear them, and designers decorate their fashion collections with them. But cuffs in the hande-made style have become especially popular, i.e. make cuffs with your own hands. What are we going to do today?

Here, please look at how varied modern ear jewelry can be, as well as their fastenings.

Ear jewelry

And here is a photo of girls who already have similar pretty ears.

I really like cuffs with chains. It looks simply mega chic.

Brooch cuffs look luxurious.

Now is the time to try making fashionable, beautiful cuffs with your own hands. For example, like the ones in the photo below. Do you like it?

First, we cut out the shape for the cuff, which will fit over the entire ear. Thick cardboard is also suitable for this purpose, but you can experiment.

Cuffs photo

We select the necessary rhinestones and glue them in the form of a pattern onto our cardboard form.

On the reverse side we attach the chain. Our precious cuffs are ready)))

Another very simple master class.

You will need: a chain, 2 thin metal leaves and a tool for twisting them. Of course, if you find ready-made half rings, the workflow will become even easier.

Making fashionable cuff earrings with your own hands

I am publishing my article for the Fashiony website:

So, we will learn how to make cuffs based on fashion brands: Chanel, ASOS, Anni Jurgenson, Transvestite.

All these cuffs are attached with a bow behind the ear. There are many options for creating a bow, I offer the most accurate and uncomplicated:

Cut about 40 cm of wire (1-1.5 m). Measure 7 cm and bend it in the opposite direction.

The resulting double wire will be the base of the cuff - bend it to the shape of the back of the ear.

The rest of the wire must be wrapped around the base, making small loops. The number of loops should correspond to the number of chains, feathers or other pendants that you want to attach to the cuff. Rings can be made using round nose pliers or by wrapping wire around a toothpick.

This is what the base of the cuff should look like in the end.

Now we will make different pendants.

Cuff in ASOS style

A cuff with chains connected to a comb has been in fashion for the second season. It's very easy to make!

We will need:

  • the simplest comb or several invisible ones,
  • chains (at least 40 cm),
  • rings for attaching jewelry.

Cut 3-5 chains of different lengths (from 10 to 30 cm).

Fasten the chains to the cuff (you can use jewelry rings for this, or simply unbend and compress the last link of the chain again).

Secure the chains to the comb.

If you can't find a comb with a thin base, use bobby pins.

That's all - the cuff is ready!

Cuff in Anni Jurgenson style

Cuffs from Anni Jurgenson appeared last year, and all of Europe and America wore them in summer and autumn. Judging by the number of similar models in the collections of this year by different designers, such a cuff will be super-popular in 2012 as well.

To make a feathered cuff we will need:

  • feathers,
  • thin wire (0.3-0.6 mm).

If you have feathers with a thick base, use this mounting option:

Poke the pen shaft with a needle.

Cut 2-3 cm of wire, pull one end through the hole in the feather.

Wrap the wire around the feather, making a ring at the end.

If you have thin feathers, then just wrap the wire around the base.

Do not twist the ring at the end of the feather immediately, with it you will secure the feather to the cuff.

Cuff is ready! You can also decorate it with chains, beads and pendants.

Cuff in the style of the Japanese company Transvestite

We will need:

  • pearl beads (or a set of beads),
  • thin wire (0.3-0.6 mm),
  • a set of rings for jewelry (they can be made independently from thin wire).

To attach pearls, thread the wire through the pearl and make small rings on both sides.

Using jewelry rings, connect the pearls to the base for the cuff, and also connect the pearls together in a chain.

Here is a simplified diagram of how chains with beads should be arranged.

And here is the final version.

Cuff in Chanel style

We will need:

  • 11 cm gold wire (minimum 1.2 mm)
  • gold chains (about 2 meters)
  • black paint (you can buy aerosol, acrylic paint or paint for painting models)
  • 2 clips for ribbons 3 cm long (sold in handmade stores)
  • pliers and round nose pliers

In this master class, the girl made earrings rather than cuffs, but I doubt that the ribbon clip will hold well only due to a puncture in the lobe. Therefore, make a cuff from wire: cut 10 cm, bend 3.5 cm in a straight line (chains will be attached to it), and bend 7.5 cm to the shape of the ear:

Place the chains on a straight line (if the chain links are smaller than the diameter of the wire, use jewelry rings for fastening). Choose the length and number of chains to your liking. On average, there should be 10 chains of 20-25 cm. Bend the ends of the wire into rings: from below this is necessary to hold the chains, and from above so that the wire does not scratch the temple. It is best to use round nose pliers to bend the wire. If there are none, carefully wrap the wire around the toothpick.

More and more often they delight us with new original master classes on creating cuffs with your own hands. I admire their imagination and skill, and I am glad to see that Russia is creating its own unique jewelry, and not just copies of Western ideas

You will need:

  • beads and beads
  • wire d 1mm hard; d 1mm soft and matching the selected scorpion color; thin wire (0.3-0.4 mm)
  • tools (nippers, side cutters, round nose pliers)

1. We make the base of the bow

We take a piece of thick wire about 20 cm long and bend it into an arc according to the shape of the ear (or rather the part behind the ear :))

From the remaining “tail” we make a bow that will be above the ear and to which our little scorpion will be attached; it is raised by about 1.5 cm, but it is best at this stage to check with your ear and see how it will be more convenient. At the end of the upper bow we make a loop, which should not be too small (hole diameter is about 2-3 mm)

2. Making the base of the scorpion

We collect beads on a wire that matches the color, which will form the basis of the body of our scorpion. (We will make both the body and legs from it, so take a larger piece.)

We bend the wire at the scorpion’s tail into a small loop, and bend the rest under the body, thereby securing the beads. The tail can be curved according to the shape of the base bow.

3. Finish the body and attach the cuff to the bow

We pass the wire that makes up the body of the scorpion into the loop of the base arch.

We make a loop - this will be the leg. And we pass the wire back. We also wrap the wire around the body of our scorpion in the hole formed by joining the beads - thus, we screw the scorpion’s body to the base bow.

We make the same loop on the other side - a paired leg, and then we make a revolution around the base axis. Next, we form the legs in pairs simply by bending the wire in a zigzag. After each pair of legs, we fix the wire with a turn around the base axis.

So we make 4 pairs of legs, which corresponds to the number of scorpion legs - 8. Please note that each next pair of legs is slightly longer than the previous one. Also, when we reach the transition between the 2nd and 3rd beads that make up the body, we make a turn around the scorpion to finally secure it on the base bow, then we make a couple of turns with the wire around the base axis, bite off the rest of the wire and carefully press the tail so that the wire doesn’t get caught did not cling or squirm.

4. Making claws for the scorpion

We take a thin wire and attach it with a few turns near the bead itself to the wire, which forms the basis of the scorpion’s body. So that we get a “mustache” like this.

We collect the beads that will make up the claw in this order: small beads, a large bead - the claw itself, one bead that will be fastening. We pass the wire back through the large bead and the first beads.
