What is polymer clay? In simple terms, this is a type of plasticine that acquires the properties of plastics during heat treatment and hardens after cooling. This gives a huge scope for imagination when creating clay products: jewelry, key chains, various elements of jewelry for postcards, etc. Be sure to try this stuff!

So, for work we need:

- polymer clay (plastic) - brown, red, yellow and white;

- a piece of cardboard and scissors;

- a small magnet

- parchment for baking;

- a sharp object (I have a barbecue skewer);

- universal glue;

- gold acrylic outline;

- varnish (if any).

So, first we will make a stencil out of cardboard. To do this, I cut out a heart from thin paper folded in half, transferred it to cardboard and cut it out. This is our template.

Let's start sculpting. We divide the brown mass into 2 equal parts. We form from each of them a cake the width of a cut out heart. You can immediately make a flat heart, but I will talk about this in.

Now we impose our template and with a thin object (knife, skewer) we cut out the shape we need from polymer clay. Pay attention to how natural the edges of our valentine turn out. Looks like a real cutaway.

Mix white and yellow mass to get a light yellow tint. We do the same with it as in the previous step. Please note: before working with light tones after dark, hands must be wiped.

Of course, ideally, translucent polymer plastic would fit here, but I had to use what I have. We roll out the heart, it can be a little smaller. We put it on ours.

We squeeze the whole thing a little with a sheet of cardboard so as not to leave prints of our palm. And let's decorate.

We make a tourniquet: we put thin sausages of white and brown plastic (remnants from cutting out hearts) parallel to each other, press them a little at the ends and begin to twist them in one direction. You will see how these lines turn into a beautiful spiral.

We wrap our original one with this spiral, and then put it in the oven to bake. As for the baking temperature and time, I will not say anything specific, since these parameters may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. I advise you to just follow the instructions on the package. The main thing is not to burn it.

After our polymer clay product has baked, we must let it cool well. And then start decorating. Remember we want to do . So, in this step, we have to glue a pre-prepared magnet to our heart. Universal glue from a gun or liquid Dragon will help us with this.

And the final stage of our polymer clay master class will be the application of at least one layer of varnish, especially inside, where there is jam.
