Climax

Almond oil– one of the most famous and sought-after varieties of oils, which humanity has known about for a very long time (see photo). For many centuries, this popular product has been widely used in cooking, in almost all parts of the world.

Today there are two types of almond oil: sweet and bitter. In the first case, sweet almond fruits are taken to produce a vegetable oil liquid. The finished product can be used both in the food industry and in the cosmetics industry. Bitter oil is extracted from bitter almonds. Due to the fact that during the preparation process it undergoes special treatment to get rid of amygdalin (a toxic substance), it can be used exclusively for technical and cosmetic purposes.

In general, natural almond butter should have an oily consistency and a light yellow color. This product also has an individual almond taste and smell.

In Ancient Egypt, oil obtained from almonds was considered a symbol of well-being. With its use, special magical rituals were performed, during which the Egyptians worshiped the gods and asked them to improve their financial situation. The priests prepared candles and money, after which the objects for the ritual were smeared with almond oil and the ritual began.

The seductive Queen Cleopatra also admired almond oil. She used this product as a beauty product. The French Empress Josephine, the beloved wife of Napoleon Bonaparte, also often had to use nut squeeze.

How to select and store?

When choosing almond oil, it is recommended to be very careful so as not to encounter a fake that can cause allergies. So, in order to choose a natural product, you need to wisely decide on the place of purchase. Today, such oil can be bought in pharmacies, specialty stores with essential oils, as well as in online stores. In souvenir departments and similar places, imitation nut squeezes are often sold.

When purchasing real almond oil, you have the right to request a certificate, since this product can be used as a medicinal product. Such products must be accompanied by similar documents confirming the authenticity of the goods.

After this, it is advisable to inspect the product externally. It usually goes on sale in small glass bottles of ten milliliters. However, vessels with essential oil can also have a capacity of thirty and fifty milliliters. Each bottle must have a label from which you can extract the necessary information about the product.

The product label must indicate the ingredients from which the oil is prepared, as well as instructions for use. Labels such as 100% Essential Oil and 100% pure may also be mentioned. This guarantees the naturalness of the products. In addition, the almond oil label must contain information about the manufacturer, the method of obtaining the oil and the expiration date.

As for the liquid in the bottle, it should be very aromatic and perfectly clean, without any additional components or sediment.

Today, only two almond oil producers are in great demand - GalenoPharm and Aromatika Photo.

After opening the container for the first time, almond oil must be stored exclusively in a cool, dark place in a hermetically sealed glass container. Under such conditions, the product can be stored for one and a half years.

How to make almond butter at home?

You can make almond oil at home in the form of a liquid or paste. In the first case, you will get a product that is perfect for preparing many aromatic dishes and various medicinal products. Smooth almond paste is an excellent ingredient for creating sweet sandwiches.

There are two ways to prepare vegetable oil from almonds, which we will discuss later.

  • Using a blender. Two glasses of dry fresh nuts are poured into the bowl of the device, after which the ingredients are slowly crushed at minimum speed. During the grinding process, a large amount of almonds may remain on the walls of the blender. In this case, the operation of the device must be stopped to clean the walls. After this, grinding the almonds can continue. When the contents of the bowl are ground into crumbs, the blender speed switches to high. Next, add a small spoon of olive oil to the resulting nut mass. If you are not satisfied with the consistency of the mixture, you can add more olive product. After this, the crushed almonds are mixed well, transferred to a suitable container and left at room temperature for fourteen days to release the oil. After the specified time, the oily liquid separates from the infused mixture. To do this, the paste is laid out on a sieve, and a bowl is placed under it, into which the cold-pressed oil will gradually drain. You can also use a filter for this purpose.
  • By using special press. A device for obtaining oil is installed on a table or any other flat surface. Two glasses of raw nuts are poured into the upper part of the press, after which the extraction of oily liquid begins. To do this, just turn the handle slowly. Each time it will turn easier. A bowl must be installed under the almonds, into which the oily liquid will drain when turning the handle. Ready-made raw oil can be used immediately after receipt, without waiting several weeks, as in the first case.

To make thick almond paste at home, it is recommended to use a blender or food processor. With the help of these devices it is possible to achieve the required consistency of the product, which looks very similar to melted white chocolate.

First of all, three glasses of peeled almonds are placed in the bowl of the prepared device, after which the kernels are crushed until crumbs form. During the grinding process, the blender is turned off for a while to mix the nuts manually. At the fifteenth minute of grinding, moisture begins to form in the bowl, due to which the almonds gradually begin to turn into a thick paste. When the product is crushed to the required consistency, it is transferred to a more suitable container. After this, the homemade nut mass is served or placed in the refrigerator for storage.

Hello, my dear cooks!
Today I will tell you how to make a product that is practically unknown in our country, but at the same time confidently occupies the top of the charts of products for a healthy lifestyle in countries of decaying capitalism.
A huge amount of vitamins, a moderate amount of extremely healthy monounsaturated fats, protein - what else is needed for happiness? Intrigued?

Then meet: our hero today - almond oil. This is not the kind of oil that is liquid and in bottles :), and not the kind of oil that is used to lubricate the hair or face for cosmetic purposes.
This is a paste that can be spread on bread (this sandwich took first place among healthy breakfasts on health.com), used for baking (I will soon present a recipe for surprisingly tasty and healthy blondies based on it at a master class, and then on the website , follow the announcements), or... Or turn on your imagination and experiment to the fullest!

Despite all the usefulness of almond oil, preparing it at home is not easy, but very simple.

We will need almonds, a food processor (blender with a bowl) and the most important ingredient... patience... a lot of patience!

The fact is that making almond butter is not difficult, but you will spend a lot of time on the entire preparation process (although in fact, it will only take 30 minutes, but it will be 30 very monotonous minutes filled with the noise of the blender)

I myself am not a very patient person, but I really love almond oil and often use it in my recipes, so my beloved usually prepares it under my strict guidance.
Just don’t think that since I attract men’s hands, this is a very difficult task. The most difficult action in the cooking process is to press the blender button :) (my beloved is indignant and says that the most difficult thing is to mix the mass during the process, forcing the blender to do its job :)).

So let's get started:

To begin, add the almonds to the bowl of your food processor (blender).

Advice:

Depending on the size of the bowl of your blender or food processor, you can grind up to 4 cups of almonds at a time.
But I highly recommend no more than 3 cups of nuts at a time. Firstly, this will speed up the grinding process, and secondly, it will be more convenient for you to mix the crushed mass in the bowl.

Now close the lid and press the “Start” button.
The first few minutes will simply grind the almonds. Stop the blender from time to time and stir the nuts in the bowl until they are evenly chopped.

Then we continue to grind the resulting mass, making sure that the blender does not run idle (lightly tamping and sometimes stirring the mass).

After 10-15 minutes (just at the moment when you begin to doubt whether you understood the instructions correctly and whether Yulianna Pliskina deceived you with her damn oil) the magic will begin - you will notice that the dry ground almonds are moisturized (the oil begins to release ), and the contents of the bowl will begin to stick together.

Continue in the same spirit, soon the almond mass will become a paste-like consistency. At this moment it will begin to heat up - don’t be alarmed, this is how it should be.
Every minute the paste will become smoother, more uniform and moist.

A little more patience, and start checking for readiness - the finished oil should, although slowly but inevitably, drain from a spoon or spatula, shine, and have a smooth texture.

You can use the resulting almond butter directly to make your favorite recipe, or transfer it to a sealable glass container to store in the refrigerator.

Patience and bon appetit!

Almonds are a powerful source of life; they are revered as a divine symbol and are recommended to be added to food during pregnancy.

The historical value of almonds can be traced back to ancient times. For example, the Bible describes a miracle about how Aaron’s staff blossomed and sprouted buds, and after flowering almonds appeared. It had important religious significance and was considered a symbol of divine approval. This is easy to understand from the way of life in Ancient Egypt, in which only the pharaohs and those closest to them could use almond fruits. The Romans considered almonds a symbol of fertility and a stimulant of sexual desires.

Composition of almond oil

Many people call almonds a nut, but in fact it is the kernel of a green shrub fruit. It is thanks to the cold pressing of these kernels that the highest quality essential almond oil can be obtained. The extraction result is more than impressive: 60-62% of oil can be easily extracted from the total mass of raw materials used.

The oil includes a number of vitamins:

  • vitamin A affects many processes, including the health of the skin, hair, and the functioning of the immune system;
  • B vitamins provide our body with the necessary vital energy and affect the functioning of the central nervous system;
  • Vitamin E has fat-soluble properties and also has a beneficial effect on the menstrual cycle;
  • Vitamin F keeps nails, skin and hair in good condition and promotes the production of breast milk.

Almond oil contains linoleic and oleic acid, as well as many microelements, including iron, phosphorus, magnesium and zinc. Almond essential oil contains no synthetic additives, flavors, preservatives, stabilizers or dyes at all - it is a 100% natural product, thanks to which our body receives invaluable benefits. The structure of the oil allows it to be easily absorbed, without leaving a greasy film. Any skin type responds well to this product. Almonds are like a balm for the soul: an invisible assistant whose presence brings satisfaction and comfort.

Benefits and uses of almond oil

The components of these fruits contribute to the successful use of almond essential oil for cosmetic purposes. Oils of grapefruit, cloves, lavender, rosemary, ginger, thyme, cardamom, etc. can significantly diversify and enhance the effectiveness of almonds in any chosen tandem. There is one interesting way: if you heat almond oil to body temperature and massage your face or décolleté with it, then the skin in these places will become more elastic and wrinkles will be smoothed out. In principle, everything is clear with the face, but hiring your favorite “specialist” to massage the décolleté area will bring both you and him a lot of benefits and pleasant sensations.

In combination with lemon or ylang-ylang essential oil, almond oil will reduce the fragility of nails and also restore their strength, giving them a more impressive look.

Almonds have also found use in cooking and as a spice. The seeds are used in any variation: fresh, salted or roasted. Almond kernel shells are used to flavor liqueurs, wines and cognacs, as well as to improve their color. Activated carbon is also made from the shell.

Our hair is exposed to many negative factors, it needs protection and beneficial nutrients, so using almond oil for hair can revive it and give it a healthy look. In addition, it is a good cleanser that protects the scalp from dust accumulation and dandruff. Massaging your scalp with almond oil will improve blood circulation, prevent hair breakage and keep your hair looking shiny in any weather.

Almond oil for maintaining beauty and health

A recipe to help you make butter at home

Despite the high cost of almonds, homemade butter is cheaper and better quality than what you can buy in a store. You can make it yourself from both raw and roasted nuts. In the second case, the finished product will have a more pronounced smell and taste.

It’s easy to make almond oil at home

To properly roast almonds, you need to heat the oven to 170–180 degrees. Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread the nuts in a thin layer, fry them for no more than 15 minutes, stirring from time to time. Then remove everything from the oven and let cool to room temperature.

If you don’t have a special oil press at home, you can use a regular blender. Turn it on to the lowest speed and pour a handful of raw materials into the bowl. When grinding, some will remain on the walls; the blender will need to be turned off and the bowl cleaned, returning the almonds to the bottom of the container. As soon as the nuts turn into crumbs, you need to increase the rotation speed of the knives to medium or maximum value: the oil will begin to separate, turning the mass into a paste. At this stage, you need to add two teaspoons of olive oil and leave the blender on for another 2-3 minutes. Then transfer the thick mass into a glass container (preferably dark) and leave to infuse for 14 days. The resulting oil will need to be filtered, after which the product will be ready for use.

Medicinal use

For herpes

For herpes, it is necessary to treat the affected areas of the skin with a product mixed with a few drops of eucalyptus or tea tree essential oil. Repeat the procedure 2–4 times a day for 7 days.

For otitis media and hearing loss

Pure almond oil dripped into the ear at night will help soften wax and remove the plug. First you need to warm it up a little to room temperature. After the procedure, place a warm bandage on the ear - a warm scarf or handkerchief. The next morning the cork will soften and it will be easy to remove.

For burns

A remedy with the addition of lavender or tea tree oil (2 drops of each ingredient for 1 tablespoon of almond oil) will help reduce sunburn. It is recommended to treat the skin with this composition at least 2 times a day until healing.

Adding a few drops of tea tree oil to almond oil makes an excellent remedy for burns.

For constipation

For constipation, almond oil is used as follows: consume 1-2 tablespoons every morning on an empty stomach, washing down with 100 ml of warm boiled water (half an hour after taking, you can have breakfast). The course of treatment is 1 month. Repeat if necessary every 90 days.

For atherosclerosis

For coughs and diseases of the throat and respiratory system

Taking a teaspoon of oil 3 times a day every day will help cure bronchitis, pneumonia and throat diseases, accompanied by a dry cough and difficult to separate sputum. You must continue using the product for 10 days.

For pain in ligaments and muscles

To reduce pain when spraining ligaments and muscles, you need to apply a warm compress to the affected area, soaking the bandage in warm almond oil. Leave the application for 1 hour, wrapping the problem area with a handkerchief or scarf. This procedure will reduce pain and have an anti-inflammatory effect.

For gynecological problems

For inflammation of the female genital organs, it is recommended to insert tampons with almond oil into the vagina, leaving them overnight (add 3 drops of tea tree oil to a tablespoon of the product). Perform the procedure daily for one week.

A massage of the lower abdomen will help relieve pain during premenstrual syndrome: mix 70 ml of almond oil with 1 drop of jasmine, 2 drops of sage, 3 drops of ylang-ylang and 5 drops of grapefruit oil. Carry out the procedure once a day until menstruation ends.

For problematic and oily skin

  • 2 tsp. nut oils;
  • 2 tsp. calendula tinctures;
  • white of one egg.

Beat the egg whites with a fork, add the oil and then the calendula. Apply the composition to the face, avoiding the area around the eyes. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse with warm water. Repeat the procedure 2-3 times a week.

For dry type

  • 2 tsp. almond oil;
  • 1 tbsp. l. cottage cheese 5% fat;
  • 1 tbsp. l. apple or grape pulp.

Mix everything, apply a thin layer to the face and leave for 15–20 minutes. Then rinse gently with cool water; do not wipe your face after the procedure.

For eyes and eyelashes

To grow and thicken your eyelashes, you need to apply a little oil with a clean brush every evening for a month, leave it on for a couple of hours, and then wash it off without leaving it overnight.

Applications with oil will help strengthen eyelashes, hide dark circles under the eyes and fine wrinkles. You need to apply the warm product to a clean bandage or cotton pad, apply it to the eye area, and cover with parchment paper on top. Leave for 20–30 minutes, then remove excess oil; do not wash your face. Repeat the procedure twice a week.

The product is great even for removing waterproof makeup from the eyelids; you just need to soak a cotton pad in oil and remove the makeup from the skin.

For hair

By rubbing a small amount of product into your scalp after each wash, you can relieve dryness and stimulate hair growth. If the strands are oily, it is recommended to apply the oil directly to the comb and process the hair with it so that the product is distributed over the entire length - this will help keep it fresh longer. Leave the product on for 15 minutes, then wash your hair as usual.

For breast problems

Almond oil is used during pregnancy and lactation to care for nipples and soften breasts. When the baby is already born, it is recommended to treat the nipples with oil immediately after feeding so that it does not enter the newborn’s body.

A simple massage with oil will also help prevent the appearance of new stretch marks during pregnancy. This procedure will be pleasant not only for the expectant mother, but also for the baby.

Almond oil helps a young mother take care of her baby’s delicate skin, starting from the first days of his life. It perfectly nourishes and moisturizes and does not cause allergic reactions. The product is usually used for massage after washing or bathing a child.

Use as a laxative

The oil is often prescribed as a mild laxative for children. For babies up to 6 months, the recommended daily dose is 0.5 teaspoon, from 6 months to 2 years - 1 teaspoon (the oil is consumed on an empty stomach). If the child is 2–12 years old, then you can give 1 teaspoon in the morning and the same amount of product at lunchtime (before meals).

Contraindications, possible harm and precautions

Almond oil has virtually no contraindications for use, except for individual intolerance. You can only consume a product made from sweet almonds; bitter almond oil is contraindicated for ingestion, since this type contains a large amount of amygdalin glycoside, a substance poisonous to humans.

To be confident in the results of using almond oil, you must choose a product of the highest quality. Oil obtained by cold pressing (and not made from cake) has no sediment and is distinguished by a pleasant sweetish odor and transparency with a slight yellowish tint.

If only a product made from sweet almonds can be used as a medicinal product, then oil from any type of nut is suitable for cosmetic purposes. Information about the variety must be indicated on the packaging.

The product does not require special storage conditions: at room temperature in a dark glass container, the shelf life is 6 months; If you keep the oil in the refrigerator, it will not lose its properties throughout the year.
