In fact, this type of needlework will help create wardrobe items that are quite suitable for the autumn-winter season. One of these things is a headdress. In order to know exactly what diameter of the circle needs to be knitted in this way, we measure the circumference of the head with a centimeter, and divide the result by the number P, familiar to us from the school curriculum (3.14). This number is rounded to tenths (that is, to 1 digit after the decimal point) and one is still subtracted from it. Let's say the measurements gave us the number 55, divide it by 3.14, we get 17.5159 ..., round up to tenths (this is 17.5) and subtract 1. Thus, for a head circumference of 55 cm, a circle with a diameter of 16.5 cm is knitted.

In general, this layer is a ready-made hat for autumn or spring. In a word, for the season when it’s already cool without a hat, and it’s still hot in winter. But if you use the resulting product as a separate thing, and not one of the "layers" of a winter hat, then you need to increase the height. Otherwise, this headdress will not cover the girl's ears.

The top or outer layer of the future headdress is knitted separately. You should start with a set of 16 air loops. The first row is knitted 16 double crochets. The implementation of the second row differs only in the addition to each column of 1 front relief column with a crochet (convex) and 1 column with a crochet.

The upper, outer "layer" of the cap should be larger than the inner one, and when trying on, lie flat, without wrinkles and folds.

When the work comes to the place where you do not need to make additions, you should knit according to the scheme of the last row.

At a distance of about two centimeters from the edge of the bottom "layer", both parts of the cap must be connected.

To do this, the last connecting column at the end of the row on the outer cap must be knitted with a thread from the “inner layer”:

Thus, we knit three rows and change the thread again. Now we are working with a ball, from which the “outer” hat was knitted. In each column of the previous row, 1 double crochet is knitted.

The height of the outer "layer" should exceed the height of the lower one by about 1.5-2 cm.

Both "layers" are connected by knitting them with double crochets.

We work to the desired height (it comes out approximately in a row of each color). Further, it is recommended to take the “tool” No. 2.5 so that the headgear fits well to the head. The final row is knitted with the thread of the upper "layer".

Very often I see in hats that after the main canvas, the ears / ties are turning in the front rows. Such a difference is very striking to me and very rarely it is relevant and interesting if the canvas is solid. I mostly knit in turning rows, this is not a problem. But in this hat, I only wanted the front ones, and the idea came up with pulling the thread, because tearing off the thread on each row did not smile at me. I do not pretend to be new, moreover, this technique is used in crochet jacquard.
I show on the example of double crochets, but you can knit others like this:
1) knit the first row of the ear as usual
2) after the last column in the row, we pull out the working loop on the hook until big size and thread a ball through it from left to right (if there are several threads, it is enough to thread one, but everything is better)
3) pull the entire thread through the loop until it stops to make a tight "knot" (if there are several threads, like mine, we do this carefully so that the threads lie evenly in the knot)
4) this "knot" secures the edge and prevents it from unraveling
5) we lay the thread along the previous row at the beginning of knitting (we keep the fabric on one side all the time)
6) we pull out the first loop of the new row. The tension of the thread should not be strong, so as not to pull the row, but the thread should not sag, otherwise it will lie in a row inaccurately. You can adjust the tension when the first loop is already drawn.
7) we knit the columns, letting the left thread inside them - i.e. we make the required number of yarn overs, insert the hook under the loop of the previous row and under the left thread, and then we pick up the thread from the finger to knit the column
8) we knit the columns as usual.
We repeat the operation with the thread row by row!
9) as a result, the thread lies inside the base of the column
10) and it is not visible from the inside

Then we tie the ear with any color along with the bottom edge of the cap.
So you can knit different forms ears - both rounded and triangular. The principle is the same if the ears are in straight rows. In this ear, in each row, one column is removed from both sides. It turned out a little asymmetrical for me, probably because out of habit I knitted two lifting loops instead of three. After tying it is not noticeable.
These ears do not stretch in width (due to the threads stretched inside) and are denser (which is even better for the ears). Thickening is not noticeable. All in all I liked it! The only thing is that it will be very problematic to dissolve them.
There is another option for front turning rows - when knitting a row on the wrong side, stick a hook with reverse side loops, and knit as usual a column. Looks slightly different. I'll show you sometime.

Now you can start knitting. It is best to start with an amigurumi ring or a sliding loop. This is necessary in order to avoid the appearance of a hole in the center of the cap, because the cap should warm.

• Yarn Vita Brilliant in two shades of your choice 45% wool, 55% acrylic (380 m / 100 g);
• Hook number 2.5.

The beginning of work is the same as that of the first hat - a ring.

Knit the first circle from 2 v.p.p. and 8 half. s / n. This and the following circles should be started with lifting loops and finished with a connecting column.

Second round. Increase the number of loops by 2 times.

In the third round in each half. s / n tie 3 tbsp. s / n from one base and with one top, tie 2 ch between them.

The fourth circle is knitted in arches from ch 2. third round. Alternate (1 vp and 2 st. s / n) and (3 st. s / n with a common base and top + 3 VP + 3 st. s / n with a common base and top).
