The easiest and most fun to create felt Christmas tree decorations. Both an adult and a child can easily make them. DIY felt Christmas tree toys turn out to be incredibly soft and cozy.

Thanks to the wide range of colors of the material, its flexibility, working with felt is easy and very interesting.

Master class on felt Christmas tree decorations

The process of making decorations is amazing, in a short time you can create felt toys for a Christmas tree with your own hands. Various Christmas trees, houses, balls will perfectly fit into the New Year's design of the green beauty.

Prepare the following materials:

  • felt of different colors ( the more shades, the brighter you will get toys and a more beautiful tree);
  • scissors (any small scissors will do, it is more convenient to work with a manicure tool);
  • a needle;
  • multi-colored threads;
  • cardboard stencils or patterns;
  • any pencil;
  • cotton wool;
  • beads for decoration.

Stencils are not difficult to find, they are sold in stores in the form of Christmas trees, animals, sweets. You can also make templates yourself... To do this, draw the selected shape on cardboard with a pencil. For example, a herringbone or candy, cut out with scissors. They also use patterns instead of templates. Patterns for Christmas tree decorations made of felt can be found on the Internet, downloaded and printed on plain paper. After that, cut out neatly along the lines.

In order for the figures to be soft, they are filled with cotton wool, foam rubber or other soft material. A variety of beads, rhinestones, tinsel, buttons and other elements are suitable for decorating toys. When all the necessary materials for the felt figures are ready, they proceed directly to their manufacture.

To make a decoration you must first transfer the image from the stencil to the fabric... To do this, he is placed on felt and outlined with an ordinary pencil. Then carefully cut along the lines with scissors.

The cut out parts are sewn by hand or on a sewing machine, leaving room for filling the toy with cotton wool or foam rubber. Toys turn out to be interesting and unusual if you use different colors of felt and threads, for example, combine red with white, blue with orange. If you look at various photos of New Year's Christmas tree decorations made of felt, you can get ideas for decorating handicrafts: eyes-buttons are sewn onto them, they are decorated with beads, tinsel, beads, patterns are embroidered with colored threads, floss.

Felt garland

In addition to Christmas tree decorations, garlands are also used to decorate the Christmas tree. They look great both on the tree and on the walls. Felt garlands have a number advantages over toys made from other types of fabric:

  • they are much stronger and keep their shape perfectly;
  • such garlands are easy to manufacture;
  • it is not required to overcast the edges of the figures, as the felt is quite dense material.

Making felt garlands is much faster than toys. The easiest way- cut circles of different sizes from fabric of different colors and pass them through the thread. Or you can cut out the figures and sew loops to them, through which any beautiful thread remains to be threaded.

In order to make the decoration for the Christmas tree original, you can combine toys from different materials

Volumetric figures made of felt

Due to the strength of the material, felt makes volumetric figures... They are suitable for decorating a room or a festive table and will last a long time, keeping their shape.

For example, you can make a voluminous herringbone: for this, a cone-shaped base is cut out of cardboard and many strips of fabric are glued onto it. A stick is glued inside the cone, which is inserted into the base. Take, for example, any pretty cap as a base. Lay the foam at the bottom of the lid; the stick fits perfectly into it along with the cone decorated with felt. Thus, it turns out voluminous herringbone on a stand... Glued beads and rhinestones will add festiveness to the finished toy.

This is how quickly and easily all kinds of figures and garlands are made, which decorate not only a fluffy Christmas tree, but also a room and a festive table.

WHAT exactly - we will be making felt today.

Let me tell you right away what kind of crafts I have collected in this article

  • We will do many STARS- to decorate the Christmas tree.
  • Cut out of felt SNOWFLAKES... or embroider them.
  • We will tinkering - BALLS from felt (similar to Christmas tree)
  • We will sew Santa Claus(different patterns)
  • Make a Christmas tree from felt ... and HOUSES.
  • Sew small felt SKATES and SLEEVES- to hang on the tree.
  • Let's make New Years OWL and BIRDS also like felt Christmas tree crafts.
  • AT THE END OF THE ARTICLE…. WILL BE A SURPRISE PRIZE !!!!

That is, there will be many ideas - and I also picked up more ways for each idea ... to wake up your imagination and inspire you to creative New Year's feats.

DELICIOUS FOREWORD… the decorative possibilities of bright felt.

And by the way ... from felt we can make not only New Year's toys ... but use the IDEAS OF THIS ARTICLE to create other New Year's crafts. For example - a felt craft can decorate jars with gift tea... Or a congratulatory New Year postcard ...

Or felt characters can sit on the christmas wreath... Or a beautiful piece of art can serve as a decoration for chair back- as part of the general setting of the New Year's table.

And a bunch of New Year's characters made of felt can become a FINGER THEATER- and on Christmas days, your children can stage many theatrical performances in the New Year's theme. And you will help them with the script and the main characters of the play.

Now let's - in order about everything that was promised ...

Christmas STARS made of felt - for decorating the Christmas tree.

And of course there should be stars hanging on the tree ... many beautiful stars made of bright felt. They can be done in a variety of ways.

You can sew a puffy star cut out two parts of the star - front and back - sew them together and stuff cotton wool inside. Decorate the front side of the star with a snowflake made of felt - it can be sewn with invisible stitches ... passing the thread through the bead ... Then the snowflake is sewn on and the stitches are invisible, because they pass through the beads. This star is in the left photo below.

Or you can make a MULTI-LAYER star - cut stars ... circles ... flowers from felt of different shades (and even different thicknesses). And put it all in ONE STOP - (as in the right photo below) ... decorate the middle of the felt multi-layer star with a button

Or do star-shaped blanks FROM PLYWOOD ... or THICK CARDBOARD ... Then cut the same silhouette of a star out of felt and stick them on our rigid blanks. You can decorate the star with a snowflake or felt peas - as in the photo below.

Can the surface of the star decorate with STITCHES - that is, simple embroidery... Just make a seam of colored thick threads, following the contours of the star.

Or try embroidering the outlines of a snowflake in the center of the star and small snowflakes in the corner-rays.

SNOWFLAKES made of felt - flat and voluminous (master class).

And of course I want to make delicate snowflakes ... a symbol of the tenderness of nature. After all, it is amazing how the wind and water create such beauty - just as they are driven by TENDERNESS.

if you have enough DENSE felt- then you can simply cut out the contours of the snowflake - and punch a hole for the ribbon-tie.

You can just snowflake to embroider on a round felt... You can draw a snowflake on felt ... cut with scissors - and also stick as an applique on a circle of felt.

You can also glue the felt applique on a simple round CARDBOARD. And you can cut two snowflakes of a contrasting color (blue and white) and so that one is a little larger in size - and when we put them on top of each other - the second will spread around the edges from under the first (as in the right photo below).

Can cut FINE RADIANT snowflakes different sizes ... And fold them into a sandwich ... Decorate the center with a button or a bead or brooch. As we can see in the photo below - a handmade snowflake

And here is another interesting way to create VOLUME felt snowflakes- petal method.

It looks complicated - but in fact it is even EASIER AND FASTER than cutting out the rays of a snowflake ...

Here's how it's done ...

We will cut out the PETALS (like a flower) ... and then we will pull the BOTTOMS of these petals (closer to the center of the flower) with a thread ... Thus, the petals at the center of the flower will SHRINK and there will be holes in the center ...

OPTIONAL ... you can decorate the middle of the petals with embroidery ... bugles ... beads ...

And you can then (or immediately) make a FIGURAL CUTTING OF PETALS - so that they have teeth or steps ...

And there is also a way to FOLD a snowflake from felt strips... Like in the photo below ...

Felt HOUSES - Christmas tree toys.

If you have a THICK felt, you can simply cut out of it SILHOUETTES house in ... make SLOT-windows in them and hang a bell, a lens or a tiny Christmas ball in each slot (such small Christmas balls for mini Christmas trees are sold in the store.

But even if you do not have thick felt, you can get it if glue two layers of regular felt. Layers of felt can be glued with simple PVA glue ... or glued with double non-woven fabric (dublerin) - this is an adhesive fabric, it is placed between the layers of felt and calcined with an iron, the temperature melts the dublerin and the layers of felt are glued together.

Or you can make a plump house ... sew it from two layers of felt ... and stuff cotton wool inside ...

Or make a voluminous three-dimensional house with four walls and a pyramidal roof.

Christmas tree toys made of felt - in the form of mittens and skates.

Such skates are made very simply ... First, a pattern is cut out - it looks like BOOT SIDES stuck together with each other ...

Then the fold line - this part is pushed under the paper clip…. And in this place - the flaps of the part (the sidewalls of the boot) are folded together and stitched along the sides ... And it turned out that the paper clip was inside the boot.

Mittens are sewn from two halves - we put cotton wool or synthetic winterizer inside ... We decorate the front detail with buttons (of course, we sew them even before stitching the front and back parts together). We make elegant cuffs from any fabric - we also decorate them with a button. Without cuffs, mittens look like an unfinished craft - but with cuffs, they are immediately refined.

Felt cupcakes are like toys for a Christmas tree.

So delicious muffin cake is easy to sew by yourself ... there is no complicated pattern - everything is simply cut out by eye ... The main thing is to do it seams to simulate the ribbed surface of the cake... decorate the top with a berry or bead ... and make in the middle felt strip - a layer of cream... Candied rhinestones will complement the beauty of this culinary felt masterpiece.

Or you can make voluminous cupcakes out of felt and also hang them on the Christmas tree. ...

How to make a voluminous cake-pie with your own hands.

For this you need to cut a long strip of felt ... in the form of an elongated triangle ... Such elongated parts need 2 pieces- light and darkest color

We put both parts on top of each other and roll them into a roll - like a carpet. We begin to roll up our "two-layer rug" on the wider side ... and up to the one that is already. This gives us a cupcake that has a top in the center ...

We fasten the roll with threads (so as not to turn around) ... decorate with a paper cupcake mold ... or lace

Felt Christmas BALLS - for the New Year tree.

But these are the simplest felt crafts ... Cut out circles and decorate them with felt strips and rhinestones.

Such felt Christmas balls can have a teardrop shape (as in the photo below)

Decorate them with flowers and stars cut out of felt. Elegant braid, thin lace and sequins.

Icicle-like oval shapes look good too

Master class on sewing felt Christmas tree toys.

And here is a step-by-step micron in the photo - where the whole process of making such a toy is visible - layer by layer ...

Christmas decorations made of felt WITH APPLIQUE.

And on such a round ball made of felt, you can make a felt applique (or fleece). It is better to use thin felt for applique work.

For the application of the Christmas tree - it is better to take three shades of green ... so that each tier of the tree stands out beautifully (as in the photo below). And for the applique of a deer - you also need 2 shades of brown - one for the head and the other for the nose and horns.

You can make a snowman or Santa Claus applique.

If there is no white felt for the beard of Santa Claus and for the snowman- you can use a cotton pad. Only a cotton pad needs to be reinforced with PVA glue (soaked in glue, leveled and dried - so that it becomes denser and cemented).

You can make interesting to how would it be STANDING PICTURES on such felt material ... A snowman who rejoices in the snow ... A bunny under the Christmas tree, birds are circling and flowers are blooming in the snow

DEER made of felt - like toy pendants on a Christmas tree.

A reindeer made of felt is easy to sew ... just a head with ears and horns ... in the middle there is an appliqué of a nose ... and beads of an eye ...

Or you can whole torso deer cut…. Here's how in the photo below ... and then the ribbons do not need to be sewn to the head - but you can put them on like a collar around the deer's neck.

FROST FROST made of felt - and other characters for Christmas tree decorations.

Santa Claus may have very different pattern... It is very easy to do it yourself. You can simply draw the HEAD of Santa Claus - any shape - in the shape of a circle ... in the shape of a bell ... in the shape of a triangle ...

CAN make Santa Claus - WHOLE ... with the body... Moreover, the body can be completely SCHEMATIC ... just a teardrop shape ... (as if he were in a long fur coat and hid his arms).

Or you can draw the outlines of the arms and legs on the pattern - apply mittens on the tummy ... and a black belt (as in the right photo below).

Santa Claus can be made with handles and legs in the form of a rope to (the twine can be replaced with a chain of air loops with a crochet). He will dangle amusingly on the tree.
If you are sewing Santa Claus from THIN felt - then a beard can be made not in the form of a flat applique ... but like a duster of cut strips of felt(as in the right photo below). Such Santa Claus does not have to be hung on a spruce branch - you can simply put it under the tree

And here are also funny New Year characters - a flat penguin and a snowman to decorate the spruce legs.

And you can also make the HEDGEHOG ... and LADYBIRD ... they also turn out bright and will look good like toys on the Christmas tree.

Christmas tree made of felt is a DIY New Year's craft.

If you want your tree to stand out CONTRAST against the background of the spruce, then it is better to make it from bright paired colors - RED + WHITE ... ORANGE + GREEN ...

You can use such a felt Christmas tree decorate with buttons- it is better to use buttons of no more than three colors (so that it is stylish and not chaotic). You can add a small felt Christmas wreath to such a Christmas tree craft.

You can make several TIERS of the tree from different colors ... lay them like pancakes on top of each other. You get a volumetric effect.

And you can make on the Christmas tree mini flower applique- oval sequin petals and round sequin center. Or a paper applique in the shape of a heart ... and sew an asterisk button on the top.

OWLS and other felt birds - how to sew by yourself.

Here are ideas for what kind of big-eyed owls you can sew from felt - for a Christmas tree.

The silhouette of an owl may look like a heart- narrow towards the bottom ... and at the top diverge to the sides on the ears ...

Or an owl pattern could be like a PEAR OVAL ... or be like a PERFECT BALL ...

You can make your own felt birds to decorate the Christmas tree ... These are such simple ones ... in the shape of a boat-drop.

Or such bird-titmouses with feathers ... with an applique-tail.

Birds on the tree are always fortunate ...

May your felt crafts delight you and your loved ones this year - and I'm sure they will also next year.
After all, it will be so nice to take them out of the box every year and decorate the Christmas tree.

AND THIS IS THE PRIZE ...

Those who have read to the end ... I treat YOUNG IDEAS ... to Christmas pancakes. These are New Year's surprise breakfasts you can make for your children.)))

The herringbone is a stack of pancakes (folded in a triangle) ... a star is carved from an orange ... berries decorate the herringbone like balls.

And a deer is created from three pancakes - one is the smallest for the nose. Horns can be made from crispy crispbread or ruddy sausages. Or you can paint the horns with sour cream on a dark plate ... or with jam on a white plate ...

Christmas trees made of felt.

The next option is a felt Christmas tree. In fact, there are a great many options for a Christmas tree made of felt, and you can embody several of them. It's easier than ever to do as in the previous version, just draw a template in the form of a simple stylized Christmas tree. Use beads and beads to simulate Christmas tree garlands. Buttons and sequins of various shapes are also suitable for decoration.

Volumetric Christmas trees made of felt: photo lesson

Another variation of the Christmas tree. Cut out 2-3 details of the stylized Christmas tree according to the template. We fold each part in half and sew these parts for the center line. You can glue parts together or connect by simply making slits in the parts. Thus, we will get a 3D toy. And then we decorate it at our discretion.

To make Christmas trees, you will need:

Felt of different colors;
- Sewing threads of different colors;
- Needles;
- Sintepon, synthetic winterizer or holofiber for stuffing;
- Chalk, a piece of dry soap, a pencil or marker for transferring the contours of the pattern to felt;
- Pattern of Christmas trees and small decor printed or redrawn on paper;
- Beads, beads, small buttons and so on for decorating Christmas trees;
- Wire of large diameter for the frame of some Christmas trees;
- Ribbons and cords for hanging some Christmas trees.

Some Christmas trees are based on a cone with a round bottom - cut out of felt, sewn and stuffed with padding polyester, or a cone cut out of cardboard, stuffed with newspapers and decorated with felt. Choose any of these two options for making your Christmas tree, in any case, the Christmas tree will look impressive.

If your Christmas tree is based on a cardboard cone, the decor is glued to it (for example, on the Moment Crystal glue). On sewn from a felt cone - the entire decor is sewn in advance (before sewing the cone with the bottom) or glued after sewing and stuffing the cone.

Below is a selection of Christmas trees, sewn from two halves of a pattern (front and back), stuffed with padding polyester and planted on a wire or wooden leg. The curls on the tops of the Christmas trees look very funny, don't they? Personally, I was touched by the Christmas tree in the Santa hat.

Green elegant herringbone- this is the invariable and beloved symbol of the New Year and Christmas holidays. A few weeks before the celebration, she appears in shop windows, in the windows of houses and just on the streets. But a traditional Christmas tree does not have to be prickly, but on the contrary, very soft and cozy, especially if you make it yourself from such a pleasant material as felt.

How to make a felt tree with your own hands?

Before you make a felt tree, you need to prepare everything you need in the process of work, namely:

Several pieces of felt in different colors;
... multi-colored threads and a needle;
... thick paper or cardboard;
... sharp scissors;
... pencil;
... ruler.

How to make the simplest felt Christmas tree?

The simplest felt Christmas trees can become not only an excellent home decoration, but also Christmas tree decorations, and even an original New Year's gift. Everything here will depend only on the size of the product.

In order to make a simple felt tree, you just need to cut out two completely identical felt parts according to the patterns.

These parts are sewn together, the color of the thread does not have to match the color of the selected fabric. The seam can be very different, but it is better to carry it out by hand. This will give your tree a special charm.

If desired, the space between the parts can be filled with cotton wool or padding polyester, or you can leave the Christmas tree completely flat.

How to make an original cone-shaped felt tree?

Cone-shaped Christmas trees can be used for setting a New Year's table or for decorating a room.

1 ... Cut and glue the thick cardboard cone. Its height will be the same as the height of the finished Christmas tree.

2. Depending on the size of the prepared cone, it is necessary to cut several circles out of the felt. The diameter of each next circle should be a few millimeters less than the diameter of the previous one. The number of circles will depend on the height of the cardboard cone.

3. Make a small cruciform cut in the center of each felt circle.

4 ... Starting from the largest diameter, slide the felt circles over the cardboard cone. For reliability, they can be fixed with a small amount of glue.

5. The top of the tree can be decorated with a small felt cone, put on the very top of the cardboard one.

How to make a cone-shaped Christmas tree fluffy?

In order for the Christmas tree based on a cardboard cone to turn out to be more fluffy, you just need to leave a small space between the felt circles. You can also cut the edges of the circles in the form of a fringe or replace them with strips of different lengths, with which you need to glue the cardboard cone in a circle.

How to make a voluminous Christmas tree out of felt?

Option 1

The first option involves the use of a pattern, according to which a cone and a circle of the required size are cut out of felt. The resulting parts are sewn together in such a way that you get a real felt pyramid. You can fill it with padding polyester, cotton wool, pieces of fabric and even fragrant dry herbs.
In order to make a multi-colored Christmas tree, you should use a pattern that allows you to assemble a cone from felt strips of different colors. The stripes are also sewn together and the volumetric tree is ready.

Option 2

This version of a voluminous tree does not require possession of a needle.

1. A sheet of thick paper must be folded in half and applied to it half of the silhouette of a Christmas tree of the desired size, as well as a small star.

2 ... The finished pattern is cut out and applied to the felt. Trace the contours and cut out the blanks. You will need one blank for the star and two for the tree.

3. Use a ruler to draw a straight line exactly in the middle of each felt tree.

4. On one workpiece, an incision must be made from the center to the crown of the tree, on the other, from the center to the bottom.

5. Two felt parts are inserted into each other with made cuts, like a designer, forming a reliable lock.

6. The sprocket is also cut from the center. This piece is attached to the crown.

How to decorate a felt tree?

To decorate felt Christmas trees, you can use any means at hand, from multi-colored buttons to regular glitter hairspray. Multicolored ribbons and various figures cut from felt or any other material and hand-sewn with colored threads will look great.

Small Christmas trees can be fixed on thin wooden sticks, and on wide products with thin sharp scissors you can cut a variety of through patterns. You can also use bright beads, bugles and beads, embroidery and appliques.

The New Year is coming soon, which means it's time to start doing. Of course, the Christmas tree is the main symbol of the holiday! Today's master class is dedicated to making it.

For Christmas trees, you will need the same materials as for others:

  • sharp scissors
  • multicolored threads
  • buttons, ribbons, beads, bells, bows for decoration
  • thin felt
  • pieces of colorful fabric for decoration
  • It's good if you have a scrapbooking stapler - it works great for felt too.

So, we will sew just such a tree. This is the simplest option, and the simplest seam (even small craftswomen can handle this product :)

First, we cut out the pieces from the felt. Then we sew buttons or other decorations to one of them.

When the buttons are sewn on, pin off both parts with a pin right side up and sew them together.

When there is not much left before the end of the seam, we fill the Christmas tree with padding polyester. I showed how to do this in a master class.

Sew a ribbon tail from above, and the tree is ready!

The Christmas trees in the picture below are a little more complicated. Felt halves are stitched with a hemmed seam and decorated with fabric details, beads and ribbons. Christmas trees are installed on ordinary sandwich skewers. The base of the skewers is glued to the bottle caps lined with felt.

These striped Christmas trees are adorned with felt stars. The stars are cut with a stapler.

Another interesting option! Pay attention: the Christmas trees are sewn with a "hem" seam, while a bead is strung on a needle before each stitch. Christmas tree pendants are also made of beads.

These green and red beauties are sewn on a typewriter. It must be remembered that the products that you are going to sew on the machine must be large enough - small parts are difficult to sew.
