Before finding out what types of manicure and technique are, it is worth saying a few words about the general understanding of the process. involves not only applying decor and cutting the plate. Manicure is primarily skin care around the bed (cuticle). The procedure also involves healing, improving the appearance of the nail.

Types of manicure and technique may be different. Currently, masters and specialized salons offer to choose what is right for you. Let's try to learn everything about manicure. Types of manicure will be described below.

Hardware processing of nails and skin

Recently, this type has become very popular. In order to make such a manicure, you need to have a special device (machine). It comes with a lot of attachments. Some of them are needed for grinding the nail plate. Others are used directly on the skin.

Before work, you can not wet your hands and soften the cuticle. Immediately you need to start processing it with a machine. The machine can do all the hard work for you. It remains only to trim the nail and, if necessary, cover it with varnish.

Spa manicure and its types

Several categories can be included here. Spa manicure has two subspecies of nail treatment: cold and hot method. In addition, there are Japanese and Brazilian equipment. Paraffin therapy (manicure) is also gaining popularity.

  • Manicure techniques (hot and cold types of spa) involve exposure of the hands to special therapeutic solutions. Most often, salt, herbs, various oils are used for their preparation. All these substances heal the nail bed and add shine to the plate. After such processing, the handles look well-groomed and beautiful.
  • Paraffin therapy is another popular way of treating hands and nails these days. During the procedure, oil or cream is applied to the skin, after which the brushes are immersed in hot paraffin. The temperature of the composition can reach 50-60 degrees. Next, the hands are removed, and the product seals the skin. It is this manipulation that allows the most effective effect of the cream or oils on the skin of the hands and nails.
  • Japanese manicure. The processing technique in this case will be as follows. The skin is processed in special baths, for which only natural ingredients are used. Moreover, all the tools that the master uses are also of natural origin. After such treatment, the nails become stronger and shiny.
  • The Brazilian type of processing involves the use of individual sets for each visitor. So, in the salon you will be provided with gloves, a few sticks and some other accessories. All of them will be disposed of immediately upon completion of work.

European type of processing (manicure)

Manicure techniques (the types described above) can be combined in this variant. involves the use of special gels, solutions and pencils that soften the cuticle and allow it to be easily removed. First, the master uses such solutions, after which he removes excess skin. In this case, piercing or cutting objects are never used. After careful processing of the roller, the nail is filed and polished. Then you can use oils, creams or medicinal formulations for the plate.

Classic manicure

The classic manicure technique involves the use of files, scissors, cuticle nippers and many other items. It is worth noting that this way processing is the most dangerous. That is why all items and tools must be sterilized after each client. Consider a master class on the implementation of this manicure.

The first stage: softening of the skin and cuticles

To influence the nails and fingers, the master most often uses an ordinary soap solution. You can add salt, herbs or oils if you like. Dip your fingers in the prepared heated composition for about 15-20 minutes. The drier your skin, the longer the exposure time should be.

After the specified range, you need to wet the skin of the hands with a soft cloth, leaving moisture on the area of the nail zone.

Second step: trimming the cuticle

After thorough softening, excess skin from the periungual roller is removed easily and without much effort. Push back with a stick the part that has grown onto the plate. After that, use scissors or sharp tweezers to remove the excess cuticle.

Be sure to pay attention to the resulting burrs. They need to be carefully cut off without damaging the deeper layers of the skin.

Third stage: nail treatment

When the skin of each finger is processed, you need to cut the length of the plate. This should be done with sharp scissors or tongs. After that, carefully file the edge of the nail and give it the desired shape. Remember that sawing is best done from the edges to the middle. In this case, the plate will not exfoliate and crumble.

Fourth step: application of design or emollient composition

When the nail is shaped, you need to apply the final design to it. It can be varnish, stickers or any other decoration. If you want to leave the plate clean, then you can use wax or aromatic oils that are rubbed into the bed and soften the cuticle. After such a manicure, the hands look natural and beautiful.

Summing up and a small conclusion

So, you now know the main types of manicure and technique. Previously used only classic way. V modern world more and more opportunities are provided to bring the handles and nails into the proper form. Choose the technique you like the most and use it consistently.

Remember that when applying nail extensions, it is worth doing a manicure about one or two weeks before the next correction. Otherwise, your cuticles may become thinner, and cracks and abrasions will begin to appear on it.

It is also not worth building up nails after paraffin therapy. In this case, the plate is impregnated with oils and nourishing creams, and is also saturated with moisture. After such treatment, the gel or acrylic may simply not lie on the nail.

The classic look of a manicure should not be done on dry skin. Before such processing, it is necessary to moisten the cuticle and soften the roller. Otherwise, injury will be inevitable.

Take care of the health and beauty of your nails. Do manicure regularly and always be beautiful!

Types of manicure

Medical manicure is part of a therapy aimed at curing certain diseases of the nails and skin (for example, onychomycosis - nail fungus).

Medical manicure has a number of features:

1. It is performed in the conditions of a procedural medical office, and not in a beauty salon.
2. The procedure must be carried out by a specialist with a medical background.
3. Processing of nails and skin is carried out under sterile conditions.
4. Nails are not covered with decorative compounds, but with special medicines.

It should be noted that the presence of nail fungus is a contraindication to cosmetic manicure procedures. Medical manicure is one of the necessary conditions for curing such diseases. A medical manicure is also used for congenital deformities of the nails and phalanges of the fingers.

Types of cosmetic manicure

Types of cosmetic manicure differ from each other in the way they are performed, as well as the tools and means used in the procedures.

Classic cut manicure

In addition to the classic jacket, there are other varieties of it: the smile line can stand out in bright color, be covered with rhinestones and sparkles.

Japanese manicure

Japanese manicure is fundamentally different from the types of manicure we are used to. The main goal of this procedure is not to hide the imperfections of the nail plate under a layer of varnish, but to improve appearance nails and make them healthier and stronger.

When performing Japanese manicure, metal tools and coarse abrasive files are not used: polishing and polishing of nails is performed using a wooden file and a buff covered with natural suede.

Japanese manicure is performed in several stages:
1. The cuticle and nail folds are processed, a special serum is applied to them.
2. Clean nail plate a paste is applied, which has minerals and natural oils in its composition. The paste fills the microcracks of the nail, as if "sealing" them.
3. With the help of mineral powder and a suede buff, the surface of the nail is polished. Nails should acquire a pearly sheen and look natural, but at the same time very well-groomed.

Spanish manicure

The technology of Spanish manicure, known for its brightness, does not differ from the European one. Spanish manicure is distinguished by the use of several (most often two) bright shades of varnish. Shades are applied in the form of stripes, while the colors are slightly layered on top of each other. The stripes can be vertical (this visually lengthens the nail plate), horizontal or diagonal.

SPA manicure

SPA manicure is a whole range of procedures aimed at improving the health of the skin of the hands and nails. SPA-manicure can solve several problems, with its help you can not only make the skin of your hands more tender and moisturized, but also prevent age-related changes. SPA manicure includes:

Jessica manicure

Jessica's nail care methodology includes elements of classic, European, hardware and spa manicure. Manicure according to the Jessica system involves an individual approach - the master selects procedures and products for each client separately, based on the results of examining his nails.

The nail plate is not just varnished - to preserve the health and beauty of the nails, but a special “sealing” procedure is used, in which the coating is applied to the butt and reverse side regrown nail. It is an individual approach aimed at solving the specific problems of each client that made the Jessica manicure system popular all over the world.

Hardware manicure

Hardware manicure differs from the usual one in that all procedures are performed using various nozzles of a special apparatus. Rotation at different speeds and various materials nozzles allow not only to shape the nails, but also to polish them and even process the cuticle. A hardware manicure is always performed on dry nails.

There are devices designed for hardware manicure at home, and professional ones used in salons. Despite the availability of devices for domestic use, it is still better to entrust the implementation of hardware manicure to a professional: the wrong choice of nozzle or rotation speed can lead to injury to the nail and cuticle, thinning of the nail plate and increase its sensitivity.

hot manicure

Hot manicure is a variation of the classic manicure, a feature of which is the use of a bath with lotion heated to 40-50 degrees. The hands are immersed in a heated lotion or oil for 20-25 minutes, after which all the standard procedures for a classic manicure are performed.

Male manicure

Manicure for representatives of the strong half of humanity has a number of features. Since the skin of the hands of men is naturally denser and rougher, nippers are used to remove the cuticle. Men rarely face the problem of exfoliating, thin nails- on the contrary, the nail plate in most men is thicker and more durable, so coarse-grained files (80 grit) are used to shape.

Strengthening or protective coatings used in men's manicure most often have a matte finish - they give the nails a natural, but at the same time well-groomed look.

Children's manicure

Manicure for children is becoming increasingly popular, so many beauty salons offer this service. A children's manicure differs from an adult's using special children's products that do not cause allergies, as well as more gentle methods of treating nails and the skin around them.

If you touch the nail matrix, then this can subsequently affect the shape of the nails - they will grow uneven, bumpy or have an ugly shape. Therefore, the cuticle gently softens and moves away. To shape the nails, only fine-grained glass files (240 grit) are used.

Children's manicure can also have a therapeutic and prophylactic function: you can wean a child from the bad habit of biting his nails with the help of a special coating. As decorative in children's manicure, special water-based varnishes or stickers are used.

3. French with rhinestones and sparkles (the free edge of the nail is limited to a line of rhinestones or completely covered with them).

Hygienic treatment of nails and hands

The basis of the basics of manicure is its hygienic component. Long before the ladies began to cover the nail plate with varnishes, well-groomed, neatly cleaned nails were considered a sign of good manners and were an integral part of the image of noble ladies.

Today there are two options for performing a manicure:

  • traditional manicure using wooden or metal tools, nail files, buffs;
  • hardware manicure, which implies the use of electronic devices for grinding and processing the plate.

Most often, manicure refers to the direct processing of nails:

  • giving them the necessary form;
  • removal / pushing back the cuticle;
  • removal of contaminants accumulated under the free edge;
  • the use of antiseptic, strengthening or brightening compounds for the plate.

In relation to the cuticle, there are two options for manicure:

  • edged (classic) manicure - with the help of special tools, the cuticle is removed;
  • Unedged (European) manicure - the cuticle is pushed back with safe wooden sticks, this type of manicure is considered the safest and most gentle.

Hygienic types of manicure include:

  • Japanese manicure - it is typical to use only natural ingredients, levels the plate, helps to cope with cracks, gives the nail a soft pink natural shade, protects from external factors; includes hand massage;
  • brazilian manicure - for its implementation, a one-time set is used, which does not include metal objects, the procedure helps maintain the attractive appearance of the plate and fight imperfections.

Hand massage

An integral part of many manicure options (Japanese, Brazilian) is a massage, which is performed after completing the basic procedures for processing the nail plates, however, massaging the fingertips, palms and the entire hand does not have to be tied to other hand care procedures and is often performed separately.

Hand massage happens:

  • finger massage- a lot of nerve endings are collected on the fingertips, so this manipulation allows not only to relieve tension from the hand, but also to improve the whole body;
  • hand massage- the procedure is able to relieve nervous strain, increase efficiency and relieve accumulated fatigue;
  • general manicure massage- increases skin elasticity, improves blood circulation, stimulates nail growth and regeneration processes.

Typically, the procedure is performed using creams and oils that nourish, brighten and tone the skin, start rejuvenation processes and fight against the influence of external factors.

spa treatments

Spa procedures for hands and nails are very popular and effective. They help fight age-related changes, loss of skin tone, cope with minor damage to the cover, stimulate the growth and restoration of the nail plates.

SPA procedures include:

  • cleansing, softening of the skin and nails with compositions based on natural oils, seaweed, salts and minerals;
  • soft exfoliating peeling using natural scrubs;
  • mineral or paraffin wrap;
  • massage, softening cream treatment.

SPA care is not only useful, but also incredibly pleasant: relaxing procedures activate blood circulation, relieving stagnant processes, so as a result, the hands become “rested”, a feeling of lightness and freedom appears in them.

Baths for hands and nails

Separately standing view nail and hand skin care - hand baths. This procedure is often performed at home, as it is simple and does not require special skills. Baths for nails help to accelerate the growth of plates, help to cope with fatigue, relieve age spots, small cracks and damage to the cover, relax muscles and tone the skin.

Nail decoration

Many girls, hearing the word "manicure", represent this particular version of the procedure. There are many traditional and new types of decorative processing of nail plates, which involve the use of varnishes, gel polishes, gels, acrylic compounds, decorations, however, none of them is possible without preliminary hygienic treatment and shaping of the plate.

Decorative manicure may include:

  • coating the plate with varnish or gel polish;
  • nail decoration with a pattern (nail art);
  • decoration of the plate with rhinestones, beads, volumetric elements;
  • decorating the nail with foil, sparkles.

Nail extension

Extension is one of the subspecies of plate decoration, which involves the creation of an artificial nail from specially designed materials. There are two main methods of nail extension:

  • on tips- plastic plates that are attached with glue to the natural stratum corneum, and then covered with gel, acrylic or resin;
  • on forms- a foil blank with a recess under the nail, on which a building material (gel or acrylic) is applied, after the artificial nail has hardened, the form is removed, for this type of extension, it is necessary that the free edge be at least 1 mm.

Building materials are:

Types of decorative manicure

French manicure

One of the most popular types of manicure, characterized by the method of application and the shade of the coating: the main part of the plate - a natural nude shade (pale pink, beige), the free edge of the nail - is covered with white. The design is credited to Jeff Pink, founder of ORLY, who proposed the idea over 40 years ago in 1976. Over time, quite a few variations appeared on the basis of this manicure, but the main “idea” (the difference between the main shade of the decor of the free edge) remained.

Classic french with patterns

Classic french matte varnish

American manicure

A good old classic that will never go out of style - a combination of nail polish with a hint of lipstick. In most cases, red colors are used in manicure (an exception is a variation of the Beverly Hills manicure with beige tones), lipstick is allowed to differ from the nail coating by 1-2 tones.

american french

Manicure gel polish (also known as SHELLAC)

To cover the nails, a composition is used that combines the properties of gel and varnish. Suitable for creating various options design, stays on the nails much longer than conventional lacquer coatings. The product dries only under the action of a UV or LED lamp. Today it is the most popular type of manicure.

Layered design with distinctive vibrant colors. The main pattern of this design is stripes that can be located horizontally, vertically, obliquely. It is performed by applying one shade of varnish to another. The design in Spanish manicure is able to visually lengthen or expand the nail plate due to the longitudinal or transverse pattern.

One of the modern interpretations of French manicure is a jacket. In this type of design, the area near the nail hole is painted different from the base shade. It was first proposed in 2010 by the Dior fashion house, from which it got its second name "Dior manicure". Traditionally, the border of the nail hole is separated along a natural semicircular contour, but there are other variations, for example, a triangular “hole” or the use of a decorative element instead of a different shade of the coating. Often combined with a traditional jacket.

Negative space or naked manicure

Manicure in which the pattern remains "naked", that is, not covered with a color tone. Another design option is to apply a pattern on a plate covered only with clear varnish / gel polish. The design came out in 2015.

Space / "night sky" or brilliant manicure

A design that uses shimmer, glitter, or mica finishes. In this type of manicure, due to the shimmering particles on the nails, the effect of the starry sky is created.

Ombre, gradient

Design with color transitions. Obmre manicure is two blurry transitions of one tone to another on one nail plate, performed using two shades of varnish. Gradient manicure also implies a tone transition. There are several options for its implementation:

  • smooth horizontal or vertical tone transition on one plate;
  • smooth tone transition from plate to plate;
  • gradient with clear hue boundaries (stripes of adjacent tones, the boundaries between which are not blurred, as in the classic version).

Glass nails or "broken glass"

Manicure performed using pieces of foil or holographic film. Reflective particles of different size and shape are randomly arranged on the surface of the plate, creating the effect of broken glass.

Nude

Artistic, Chinese manicure

Painted design. Flowers are usually the motif of the patterns. Manicure is difficult to perform, looks best on long nail plates. Requires drawing skills and significant experience.

stamping

Manicure with uncomplicated patterns applied using the "stamp" method. It is carried out using special stamping kits, which include a disk with various patterns, a scraper to remove excess varnish and a stamp with which a pattern is applied to the plate.

Nail art

There are two types: voluminous and flat nail design. Nail art involves the creation of decorative elements (patterns, stucco moldings) using paints, liquid stones (gel), acrylic elements, rhinestones, broths and other decorations. The most luxurious type of manicure.

Extravagant design options

Recently, many trends have appeared in manicure that offer strange and incomprehensible types of nail design, for example, bubble nails (bubble, round nails), which are obtained by applying several layers of gel, or one of the popular Japanese trends - decorating the plate with a huge number of decorative elements.

The main requirement for a manicure master is to comply with hygiene regulations, since poorly processed tools can lead to the spread of dangerous, including fungal infections.
