How to make an old baby stroller new. Cradle from an old stroller. The most expensive stroller in the world

Cytomegalovirus

Many of us have had to throw away our old baby carriages. We grew up, they were given to relatives or friends. After a while, the strollers wore out ... Even good care for the baby stroller could not help this. If you find yourself in a similar situation, do not rush to take out the stroller in the trash. Try to breathe a second life into it by following our advice.

If your old baby stroller has worn out the fabric covering, but the frame and wheels are still in working condition, then you can upgrade the upholstery. To do this, carefully remove the old fabric and rip it open. According to the received details from another fabric, cut out new ones, and then sew them and put them on the frame. The new stroller is ready!

You can supplement the finished items with new ones: useful pockets, convenient buttons or buttons for attaching a sun shade, a raincoat, a cape for a stroller from the wind, loops for attaching hanging toys, a bag with a handle for necessary things, etc.

Children's chaise longue or chair

If your old baby stroller has worn out wheels, then removing them, you will get a great folding chair. Lay a mattress in it, unfold the back, and a children's deck chair will come out.

decorative garden element

If your old stroller is in a very bad condition, it will not be a pity to make a garden decoration out of it. Secure the stroller in the right place by burying its wheels a little so that they do not spin. Paint it outside with bright colors, and fill it with earth and plant flowers, or just place flower pots in it.

You can braid the stroller with a special wire and plant weaving plants near it so that they gradually envelop its frame. Get a living green stroller.

A stroller is not a stroller!

For several years in a row, a PARADE OF CARRIAGES has been held in different cities! This is the best case for reviving an old stroller. From it you can create everything that your imagination allows! A fire truck, a limousine, an ambulance, a royal carriage, a tank, a boat, a chess table, the Eiffel Tower, a watermelon, etc., etc., etc. Here are some already implemented ideas in the photo:

The most expensive stroller in the world

The most expensive stroller in the world has been valued and sold for $12,000. Designed by Alison Murfet and Graham Richardson. The majority of this stroller's $8,000 price tag comes from its 24 carat gold plating. Interior upholstery in satin of blue color and strips of ermine fur. In addition, the stroller is equipped with a musical mechanism that can play lullabies.

The question is, why such difficulties? We are content with a stroller with a waterproof synthetic cover, cotton lining and mobile phone or a player for playing melodies ...

Fantasize and do not rush to get rid of unusable, at first glance, things.

Young fans of the A Song of Ice and Fire books and the TV series Game of Thrones based on them decided to take part in the pram parade and built a completely unique pram in the shape of the Iron Throne. To create her exclusive, the young mother used an old stroller stained with glue and paint with broken parts, as well as everything that was left in the apartment after the repair.

The seat was reinforced with boards. Sushi sticks glued with a hot gun became the basis for the armrests.

The basis of the future form is made of cardboard, also glued with a hot gun.

The seat and armrests are wrapped with padding or soft foam for comfort.

To hide some details of the stroller as much as possible, I had to use a thin substrate under the laminate.

Places that are difficult to glue were covered with adhesive tape. A platform for attaching swords appeared in the upper part of the structure.

For strengthening, a combined method was used.

First papier-mâché.

I used toilet paper and building PVA with a thickener diluted 1: 1 with water. She applied a strip of paper and sprayed it with glue solution from the spray gun. Under the fan, all this had time to dry out and kept perfectly. Thus, everything was covered except for the seat and armrests.

The second step is epoxy coating.

Ideally, you would need fiberglass or glass mat. But I didn't have time to follow them.

I settled on the fact that I wrapped the entire stroller with sickle and missed it with epoxy. The hardness results are excellent. And I already used an unnecessary sickle, and I didn’t have to spend money on glass mat.

While the epoxy was drying, I cut out the upholstery for the seat from leatherette. It was glued partly with "Moment", partly with the same glue gun.

I attached seat belts to the seat boards with screws and brought them out through the leatherette. I left the belts that were originally on this stroller. I just colored it in with a permanent marker.

Then a second layer of resin would be needed, but it turned out to be too strong a smell. The weather did not allow us to work outside, we do not have a balcony, and my husband categorically refused to continue to spend the night with my mother. Therefore, with the third layer, I simply bandaged everything and soaked the PVA bandages.

After complete drying, I allowed the children to play with this structure. The future throne passed the strength test with a bang! No matter how they climbed on it, nothing anywhere sagged or spoiled.

Time to start decorating!

From the aforementioned repair, a couple of Penoplex sheets also remained.

Swords will be made from it!

Penoplex, like any other foam material, can be cut with anything. Though kitchen knife. But I need a lot and fast. So I sawed it with a jigsaw.

It was necessary to cut the entire sheet into strips.

Further, these strips turned into swords. This was the moment I feared the most. But in fact, everything turned out to be very simple. First stationery knife corners are cut, forming a point. And after the strip is hewn on the sides to give it the shape of a blade.

Here, I apparently earned money, and forgot to take pictures of a very important point. The way she set the crown.

On the platform prepared for her, she drilled holes into which she inserted half the length of a sushi stick. I fixed them with hot glue. And already she put on chopped swords on them, each row of which she also smeared with glue - both at the base and among themselves.

I got five rows in total. Four you see in the photo. The fifth is at the back, for the stability of the longest row.

In the course of gluing, the swords were covered with a layer of toilet paper soaked in PVA solution.

The fact is that the paint dissolves the foam. This effect can be very interesting if you need the texture "a la" moss. But I needed a surface that was as close as possible to melted steel. So, each sword was methodically wrapped in paper. This could be done before putting them in place, but, firstly, it would be difficult to dry them, and secondly, they constantly had to be cut and trimmed so that they would stand in a clear line.

The joint with the seat was smeared with putty. I deliberately did not output a perfectly smooth connection. Indeed, according to legend, this throne was not made by furniture makers, but by blacksmiths who folded swords in shape and fused them together with the flame of a dragon.

It seemed to me that it should be more like a weld than a smooth transition.

The sidewalls were initially selected according to the composition. Temporarily fastened them together with masking tape.

After, on the table, I corrected according to the marks left. I glued it together, and fastened the finished piece onto a pre-painted base. I was worried that in the future it would be difficult to get paint under the bulk layer of decor.

The entire stroller, except for the seat, was covered with a dense layer of toilet paper with PVA. Well dried and in the yard for painting!

When a child appears in the family, many different things are bought for him, baths, basins, walkers, high chairs, playpens. A baby stroller is also no exception, and during the life of a child, models have to be changed. First, it is more practical to use a stroller-cradle, in which a newborn baby can sleep while walking.

Then the child needs a stroller in which he can sit comfortably, given that the child is still small and his spine is not strong, the back should be rigid, but the model should also have a transformation function. And when children grow up, then for long trips it is best to take strollers with you, a stroller-cane.

After their use, mothers usually clean and wash each of the models of strollers and give them to their loved ones, those who have a baby or sell them to buy a new one, more suitable for the age of the child.

But what to do if the stroller came to you already in a fairly worn condition and it no longer makes sense to transfer it further. Is it possible to give a baby stroller a second life?

Let's look at a few options on how to use an old baby stroller.

The simplest and most common solution is a trolley. It will be useful for suburban area. On it, you can bring seedlings to the right place, take out the garbage, and even if you are not watering from a hose, then instead of carrying buckets of water, you can use an old stroller and plastic canisters.

For those who are not afraid of difficulties, and their hands are not afraid of work, I offer the option of a table on wheels. To do this, remove from the stroller upper part and use only the lower, metal structure to which the wheels are attached. It is on it that you need to fix the countertop, you can use plywood, plastic for this. And you can make a folding table and chairs if you have several stroller frames. Here is a diagram of such a homemade product, there is a blog where you can find more detailed instructions.

But do not rush to throw away the upper part, because if you have a pet, then the stroller will make a wonderful house for a cat or dog.

Walking sticks can be adapted to carry bags. If you don’t need it yourself, give it to your retired neighbors - this is perfect option for shopping in the market.

old toy stroller

And quite original idea- adapt the stroller to a flower bed or other ampelous plants and even strawberries. Such a "flower bed" can be moved around the site.

And finally, a photo of a mobile grill, a frame from a stroller was also used for it.

If you have ideas for reusing a baby stroller. share it in the comments.

The Stroller Parade is a bright and colorful stroller festival where parents decorate their strollers in a variety of creative ways. The author of today's photo essay also decided to take part in the celebration and, together with her husband, make an iron throne from the Game of Thrones series for her little son.
The author writes: For every parent, their children are princes and princesses, so when a friend suggested taking part in the stroller parade, it was immediately decided that our stroller would become the throne. And how exactly, the question was not at all. The thing is, our family fell in love with Game of Thrones long before it became mainstream. It was from this, then still unfilmed book, that I began to get acquainted with the man who became my husband.
We spent long hours discussing what we read. Together they waited for the release of new books, arguing what would happen next. Perhaps it was in these disputes that a strong feeling arose from which our family grew.

Making a throne from an everyday stroller was very problematic, because mom has time when the children are not at home. Which means no wheelchairs. A neighbor turned up very well, going to throw out the old broken stroller left over from her children. The stroller was splattered with glue and paint, it was missing a bumper and a hood, but for my purposes it was the best fit.

I won’t talk about how I put it on the “move”, because it’s out of place. I'll start by reinforcing the seat with boards. I glued the sushi sticks with a hot gun on the sides of the stroller. This will be the base for the armrests.

Next, you need to make a base. I decided to make it from cardboard from boxes. The photo somehow turned out to be a tube of Moment glue, but in reality everything was attached with a hot gun.

The real Iron throne (Iron throne) - the seat is not comfortable and even dangerous, but for children, comfort is above all. Armrests and seat wrapped in soft foam. In the store, it is sold as a heater. She, like most of the other materials I used here, remained after the repair.

It was necessary to close the stroller as much as possible. In some places it was quite problematic to use cardboard. I decided to combine it with a thin laminate underlay. It is very light, perfectly attached to the gun and it is much easier to go around the convex-concave elements of the stroller with it.

Some places, for example, around the handles, are problematic to paste over even with a backing. I just covered them with masking tape.

From above I made a platform where a crown of swords will be attached.

So, the base is ready. The outline of the stroller already looks like a chair.

Now fortification. It was very important to me that the design was safe for children. So that they could at least jump in a wheelchair and nothing happened to either the children or the “throne”.

I decided that I would strengthen in a combined way.

At the beginning of papier-mâché. There is a nuance here. The substrate has zero absorbency, which is why it is good as a substrate, but in this case it is a huge minus. I even regretted that I was too lazy to close everything up with cardboard, but there is still a way out. Work fast and with a fan.

I used toilet paper and building PVA with a thickener diluted 1: 1 with water. She applied a strip of paper and sprayed it with glue solution from the spray gun. Under the fan, all this had time to dry out and kept perfectly. Thus, everything was covered except for the seat and armrests.

It was necessary to cut the entire sheet into strips.

Further, these strips turned into swords. This was the moment I feared the most. But in fact, everything turned out to be very simple. First, the corners are cut with a clerical knife, forming a point. And after the strip is hewn on the sides to give it the shape of a blade.
Here I apparently earned money, and forgot to shoot a very important moment. The way she set the crown.
On the platform prepared for her, she drilled holes into which she inserted half the length of a sushi stick. I fixed them with hot glue. And already she put on chopped swords on them, each row of which she also smeared with glue - both at the base and among themselves.

It seemed to me that it should be more like a weld than a smooth transition.

Further, not only the red penoplex, but also a thin substrate, went into action. Strips were also cut with a clerical knife, fastened with a glue gun. In some places she intertwined them with redheads.

The seat was covered with cellophane, so as not to stain.
Painted from spray cans, paints of three colors. Aluminium, graphite and black.
From the flame, the steel should have turned black in places, but in some places a shine should also be visible. Therefore, aluminum paint was applied in the first place. Then she jumped around the stroller, pretending to be a dragon breathing on steel from a can!
On top covered with a layer of varnish all the same from spray cans. I combined a matte polish with a glossy one. Photos, unfortunately, do not convey the whole play of light, but in real life it turned out very bright and natural!

Everything! The final touch is the addition of a dragon pendant to the center of the apple of the medium sword. Selection of suits for style. And the very solemn procession at the parade.

To create this throne, only toilet paper was specially bought! Because it took a lot. In the rest, except for the stroller, which was still sent to the trash, the remnants of materials after the repair were used, which it was a pity to throw away and have nowhere to store.

Recently I found interesting photos on the Internet showing how children's strollers. Now we can no longer imagine life without them, and even mothers who prefer to carry children in slings and kangaroo backpacks are transplanting grown children into strollers. After all, this is a whole separate transport for the child, a house on wheels, in which he spends a lot of time. Moreover, now you can buy 3-in-1 baby strollers, and super-light and durable strollers-canes. On the street, sometimes there are even strollers with numbers:

And where did it all begin?

It turns out that the first stroller appeared in England in 1733. The author of this invention is landscape designer William Kent. By order of William Cavendish, Duke of Devonshire, father of six children, he created a reduced copy of the wagon, which could be harnessed to a pony or a goat. I liked the ride, and many wealthy Englishmen began to order such vehicles for their children. Children could ride in such strollers only while sitting, and the smallest ones were still carried in the arms of a nanny.

The real fashion for baby strollers was introduced in 1840 by Queen Victoria, who had 9 children. Then already all representatives of the upper strata of society walked through the parks, accompanied by nannies, dragging a stroller with a baby behind them.

In 1853, Charles Burton invented and patented a wheelchair with a rear handle. Now it was more convenient to push this "carriage" forward, and the child sitting in it had the opportunity to survey the road ahead and the surroundings.

In 1889, William Richardson came up with a reversible stroller model, that is, the child could sit in it both facing the driver of the stroller and with his back to him. William also included axles in his model, which made the stroller more maneuverable.

Over time, strollers became lower, closer to the ground (such can be seen in old films and cartoons). Wheelchair factories are opening up and becoming more functional and accessible to the poorer segments of the population.
