Pregnancy

I don’t know about you, but we haven’t given heating yet, so we have to warm ourselves up with a heater. However, the cool floors terrify my inner "yam", so today I want to talk about how to sew home slippers with my own hands for a baby.

Cute slippers will not only warm the baby's feet, but will look pretty cute. A convenient pattern of house slippers for a child consists of several details, which can be seen in the picture. You choose the size of the slippers under the foot of your child.

Cut out the base from thick cardboard or better material type of drape, then we sew it on several sides. We do this with all the details of the slippers in order to build a semblance of a sole.

The next stage is filling our blanks, try to choose the right material that will not collect condensation from fast children's feet.

We sew ready-made details of future slippers, the colors of which are easy to choose according to the kid's liking. For example, this master class focuses on house slippers for boys, but just choose a different fabric and slippers for a cute girly are ready.

We connect the details and begin to flash the future warmers for the child's legs, do not forget to turn it on reverse side and carefully stitch from the inside.

Our slippers are almost ready, it only remains to decorate a little so that the kid can pull them on his feet with pleasure.

We make a small pattern for a cute animal and, with the help of our imagination and golden pens, we construct the face of a bear. It remains only to sew the faces of the bears on the cutting edge of the ready-made slippers for the baby.

We usually spend a lot of our personal time in the kitchen. So why not make our stay there more enjoyable and comfortable? We found in the vastness of Aliexpress useful things for the kitchen that will definitely be of interest to everyone. And they all cost no more than 200 rubles, so in addition it will not be costly for your budget.

Having a good pattern, you can sew comfortable home slippers with your own hands, because this necessary thing in any home.

We will work with existing fabrics, we will not buy anything, we will use material from unnecessary old things, as well as pieces of leather from worn-out handbags or even tops of boots.

In any house there are skirts, jackets, woolen coats that are a pity to throw away, but you will not wear them anymore. They usually lie in a bag somewhere in the basement. At least that's the case for me.

Even if you are them for a long time worn with pleasure, there are definitely good pieces. Let's give unfashionable, but still very good things second life.

One piece of advice: if you have an old woolen sweater lying around, then it can be machine-rolled, dried, ironed - this is a great material for sewing home slippers! Fallen, it is no longer subject to shedding.

Here are basically three patterns for cutting and sewing soft cozy home slippers with your own hands.

There are several more options for soft slippers with knitting patterns, following the link you will find how crocheted, and knitting needles, as well as varieties, for example, only with crochet trim. Slippers from an annex to an old magazine, a photo of poor quality, but I am convinced that the material is still relevant.

2 sewing patterns from the Peasant Woman

Who does not know, there were such magazines for women in Soviet times, which were called Krestyanka and Rabotnitsa. The name, let's face it, is not very good, but they were once loved by many. There were given recipes, patterns. It is a pity that there were no good color pictures, but we were glad that we have.

In general, the materials were very useful, the ideas inspired creativity. Since I recently got hold of the binders of this edition, here is something useful.

Almost according to the same pattern, you can sew both ordinary slippers (without backdrops) and fully closed slippers.

The first model is more open, the second with an original valve. Size 36-37. If necessary larger size, then increase the pattern along the entire contour. If the leg is narrow, then increase only in length.

The material will do the simplest, perhaps even one that has been gathering dust in the pantry for a long time. The upper needs corduroy, drape or soft leather. You can use thin fabrics: fold them in several layers and stitch them for density. It is better to make the sole from the leather of old boots or bags.

Inside the slippers, you can put the insole of their skin, fur, drape.

Cutting details (1 piece is for one slipper, without seam allowances, we will take it 0.5 cm):

  • Valve
  • Outsole (cut out along the inner contour of the bottom part)

Sewing order:

Cut parts from material. Process the top. Cut out a slit for the inside of the leg. We either hem the inner edge or grind it with a beautiful braid, piping. Can also be decorated with fluffy fringes.

Next, we work with the bottom part. We cut out the sole separately and glue it with moment-type glue. Now you can connect the top and bottom parts. First, we tighten the detail of the top with a thread along the outer edge. We do the same with bottom... both details must match points from 1 to 10, which are written in circles.

They will look a little different - more gathers on the heel of the top and the bow of the bottom. Sew them off the face.

Can be done decorative seam leather or thick colored thread, lace. Or process with braid. One slippers are ready. We proceed to the second. Just do not forget that the pattern will be turned upside down in relation to the first one.

If you are thinking of decorating the slippers with original flaps, then cut out detail 3. Finish the edge. Sew on the valve along the line 11-12. It is fastened with strings attached to the point indicated by a cross on the top detail and on the valve itself. Ties can be a continuation of the braid with which the edge is processed.

Option for a pattern from Burda

The next method of sewing slippers for the house was offered at one time by the Burda magazine. True, because of the pom-poms and a sharp, upward-looking nose, they look more like slivers. :)

The pattern is simple, for a start, you just need to measure the length of your foot - it should match the length on the diagram. Zoom in graphic editor to the desired width and print on the printer.

The black detail is the outsole and the red detail is the upper.

The picture below briefly shows the order of work. Light green indicates the lining - the inside, and the colored pattern - the outside.

Increase the sole and upper pattern to 28 centimeters.

Work description

  1. Cut out two tops from the material and one from felt for each sneaker. To get right and left footwear, cut one sole as in the pattern and flip the other to get a mirror image. Do the same with the side parts - two for the pattern, two for the inverted one. Additionally, cut a fleece top and sole for each sneaker. This will be the inner part, the lining. Do not forget the 5mm seam allowances.
  2. Fold the fabric sides face to face, chop, and then sew. Press the seams apart. Repeat for the inner side pieces (fig. 1 and 2).
  3. Fold the outer and inner sides for each slipper and chop it face to face, sew along the inner circumference (Fig. 3). Make notches on the circle with scissors, turn out, iron.
  4. Lay the lining and soles facing each other. First sew on the sole and then the seam on the heel (fig. 4).
  5. Fold the lining and sole together inside with the right sides, sew, leaving a small hole 8 cm (Fig. 5). Connect the heel suture.
  6. Turn the slippers through the hole left, then sew this hole carefully by hand (Fig. 6).
  7. Make a pompom of wool, sew on to the slippers (Fig. 7).

Everyone has their own idea of comfort, but there is one element that, like nothing else, reminds of the warmth and comfort of home. These are slippers. Graceful, wide, fluffy, felt, knitted - everyone has their own, but always the most beloved. How to sew slippers with your own hands? Is it difficult to make patterns? We will devote our article to the answers to these questions.

Slippers are important!

Shoes, boots, boots - these are shoes that we select more in terms of aesthetic parameters, sacrificing comfort for them. But slippers should be, above all, comfortable. But this does not mean at all that they will be ugly. Especially if you take advantage of our master class on creating patterns, according to which even beginners can sew home slippers with their own hands.

First, let's decide on the materials from which you can make these shoes. The sole is usually made from:

But it is equally important to choose the material for the insoles. This could be:

  • rough cloth;
  • suede;
  • split.

Between the sole and the insole for durability, place a choice of:

  • thin synthetic winterizer;
  • batting;
  • cardboard;
  • foam rubber.

By adding these elements to the model, you will ensure that your slippers last longer. So, we have decided on the technical issues - it's time to attach an original design idea to them.

4 patterns of cozy slippers

Experienced craftswomen say that it is better to start your own production of exclusive home shoes with felt models. This is an easily yielding material, and if somewhere the cut or seam turns out to be not quite even, after the first fitting, the slippers will take the shape of a foot, so that the flaw will not be noticeable.

Patterns designed to sew slippers on adults from felt with their own hands have one important feature: they do not need allowances, since the material tends to "adapt" to the shape of the foot. These models are usually sewn without a sole pad.

  3. On the left, on the long side, set aside a segment equal to the desired depth of the sneakers.
  4. On the right, on the short side at the bottom, mark the heel height.

Let's talk with you, readers, about how to sew home slippers. I have been sewing my own slippers for a long time, because the purchased ones do not suit them. I wear my slippers with pleasure, and they last much longer. For sewing slippers I use old things: fabric from an old coat, woolen clothes, soles from slippers. My slippers are washable and will not deteriorate.

I sew slippers in one evening. If you need these indoor slippers, then read this article.
We prepare the material for the slippers: an old woolen coat, soles from old slippers or ready-made felt insoles, woolen or flannel fabric for the inner side of the slippers, braid or bias tape made of strong material for edging.

You will also need a sewing machine, or perhaps hand-sew. Threads No. 10 for the sole and threads for sewing the top. Scissors. Decoration materials.

Sequence of work

We are preparing a pattern. The photo shows a size 37 pattern that can be increased or decreased along the leg.

We cut the top and insoles of the slippers along the shared thread. Under the upper part we cut the second part made of soft woolen or felt fabric (old things: sweaters, blouses, trousers).

You can also cut out double instep pieces for the heel.

We cut the bias tape at an angle of 45 degrees so that it fits neatly on the edge of the sneaker.

Sewing details under the heels

We connect the upper part of the slipper with the lower part and sew at a distance of 1 cm from the edge. We trim the bottom edge to 2-3 mm so that it does not interfere with sewing. We process it with an oblique inlay.

We sweep the top to the footprint, aligning the middle at the toe. Stuck on a typewriter.
We mark the bias tape and we spend it. Lower part We do not bend the inlays, because it will be under the sole.

Sew on the details under the heels

Now we take the sole and manually sew the upper part of the slipper.

We decorate slippers in any way: flower, button, braid, applique. This action can be done earlier when sewing the top.

And now little advice: if your slippers slip on linoleum, then glue the pieces of leather on the sole and you will not slip. I have been doing this since I slipped.

Cozy home accessory

For the work ahead, you should stock up on some materials:

  • Finished pattern - the process of making it will be described below.
  • Soft leather - will be used as an insole.
  • Fleece.
  • Decor elements are optional.

Important! Fur can be either artificial or natural.

In order to make a pattern, you can use two methods:

  • Print the finished one, then adjust it to fit your own leg or the leg of the person for whom the garment is being made.
  • Take old slippers and cut out two details along the contours - this method is much easier than the previous one.

Now you can go directly to the manufacture of the product. In order to sew slippers from fur with your own hands, to make patterns, you must follow this algorithm:

  1. Take one of the parts, cut it into two equal parts.
  2. Attach the resulting details to a sheet of paper, circle them.
  3. Now you need to measure the width of the flat part of the toe of the shoe, and then mark it with noticeable points, setting aside 40 mm from the edge. After that, you need to measure the length of the insole.
  4. Glue a rectangular piece to the resulting spout, cut out the middle in it. As a result, you will get a suitable pattern.
  5. Cut 6 main parts according to the patterns, adding 4 cm each for the allowances.
  6. Sew fur and fleece parts with allowances together so that the fur is inside the product. Then then sew on the fleece sole - there should be no allowance on it.
  7. Insert the fur blank into the fleece blank, sew, leaving space so that the product can be turned out (it is necessary that the fur is inside the sneaker).
  8. Sew up the product, sew on the leather insole.
  9. Decorate the slippers as you wish.

  • Transfer the resulting sketch to the prepared sheepskin coat.
  • Similarly, make the side parts of home shoes.

Important! When sewing parts, it is necessary to take into account the width of the ankle and standard size your shoes.

  • Transfer the patterns to the material of the sheepskin coat, leaving about 1.5 cm for the seams.
  • Cut out the intended blanks and start sewing them together using the prepared strong threads.
  • Decorate ready product to your liking.

The slippers are ready!

Classic slippers

After making a pattern for the sole of the shoe and its top (this time it is simplified as much as possible), you can proceed to making slippers from fur with your own hands:

  • Cut the soles by adding 5 mm for the allowances.
  • Reduce the pattern of the gasket by 7 mm along its entire contour - this is necessary to avoid thickening of the seams.
  • Glue the leather soles together and trim all edges neatly.
  • Glue the sole along the edges with top Slippers with a seam outward, not forgetting to align the control marks.

Important! If the model is closed, then you need to additionally add an excess length of the part from above along the toe. If it is open, it is necessary to adjust the length of the upper part so that the leg is tightly held in the sneaker.

  • Connect the top of the product and the sole.

The product is ready!

Important! The seam can be covered with a decorative leather braid or other decorative element that suits your style. You can use a glue gun that is designed specifically for handicrafts to keep the trims well-secured.
