DIY felt bunny: job description

To begin with, we will draw a bunny pattern by hand or print it from this file:

Next, let's prepare the base sticks. To do this, we cut the paper into arbitrary rectangles, fold each in half, grease it with PVA glue, put the tip of the stick and squeeze the paper moistened with glue well around the stick to fix it well. We do this as many times as we want to get bunnies at the exit. Leave the sticks to dry completely.

At this time, we make cutting on felt. It is convenient to cut on colored felt using a white gel pen or a self-disappearing marker - as you are used to.

I used 2 sheets of A4 felt for eight birds with one stone. The bodies, ears and abdomens fit perfectly on one sheet. Abdomen beige colour send the white hares, and white- beige.

Cut out all the details with sharp scissors; we do not leave seam allowances.

We make out face bunny. Sew on the abdomen, leaving it unstitched lower part! For decoration, I came up with the idea of cutting out the hearts from the remnants of pink felt and sew them through the button, for each bunny - in a different place. We glue the half-bead eyes; embroider a floss nose and mouth; with a colored pencil with slight pressure we make pink cheeks. I made small eyelashes for some bunnies with a sharpened black colored pencil.

Returning to the base sticks. They are already dry. Cut the corners of paper stoppers and try them on to the felt blank to make sure that the stopper is not too large.

We wrap the stopper small amount padding polyester and lay it between the back and front parts of the felt bunny.

We take a thread to match the abdomen and sew the lower part of the body so as to securely fix the stick.

And the last thing - we stitch along the perimeter, except for the lower, already stitched, part, the whole hare, not forgetting to put the ears in the place they should. The work has been completed. Optionally, you can tie a satin ribbon bow to the stick.

All kids simply adore soft toys, now they can be found without any problems in any store of children's goods of a wide variety of types, shapes and sizes.

But the most common types of animals are bears and rabbits, they are most loved by children.

You can also sew an excellent bunny toy out of felt, which we will now try to make. A bunny made of felt with your own hands is made as easy as shelling pears, in this master class you will find out which is the correct pattern for step by step photo instructions.

You will need a light monophonic felt, it can be gray, white or even yellow, in our case we will get a white. To decorate the ears, you can use felt with a print or just a different color and a small piece of pink felt for the nose.

So, first we draw a sketch of the future toy.

In the photo, the size of the body of the hare without ears is about 23 cm, with ears + 5 cm. Cut out the details of the toy.

We transfer the details of the body to the felt.

We cut them out and take the front part of the toy's torso. We begin to tinker with the face.

We are preparing a part of the spout - a triangle with rounded corners, no more than 2-3 cm in size.

Sew to the front part of the body.

After that, with a pen or tailor's marker, we outline the boundaries for embroidering the lines of a hare's smile.

With the help of black threads we embroider along the drawn lines.

Now the curbs.

When the work on the face of our bunny is finished, we proceed to sewing the ears. We transfer the details to the felt.

And we cut them out, there should be 3 parts in total.

When folded, the eyelet should look like this.

First, we sew the decor to both ears - a small piece of felt with a print, in our case it is felt in a cage.

Then we sew two parts of the ear along the contour with a seam over the edge, leaving a small free space below.

Now we stuff part of the toy and sew it to the end.

We do the same with the second ear of our bunny.

While we are putting off the ears, we will be engaged in the connection of the main part - the body. We begin to sew the body of the hare.

As you sew, remember to sew on one ear first.

And then the second.

When everything is almost sewn, we begin to fill it with padding polyester.

Gradually sewing the toy to the end and stuffing it whole.

The final part of the work remains - the front legs. As well as with the ears, we transfer the blanks to the felt.

And we cut them out.

Then we begin to sew one foot along the contour, at the end leaving a place for stuffing.

Then we fill the foot and sew it completely.

The same algorithm of actions with the second foot.

Now we begin to sew the paws to the toy itself. They can be sewn on each separately or with one thread both at once, in which case the paws of the hare will move. The needle must be passed through the entire toy, first catching one foot, and then the second. About 5-6 stitches for each foot should be sufficient.

So that the stitches are not visible and the toy looks more presentable, use decorative buttons, for example, in the shape of a heart.

Today we want to tell you how to make a felt bunny with your own hands. It is very simple to create such a toy, there would be felt and some free time available, and our pattern and step by step master class with a photo will help you in your work. Our felt bunny will win your little ones!

Step-by-step instructions with a photo

Do you like small plush toys? Felt toys are very popular these days! So why not create a couple of such rabbits, especially since they are so easy to make? This felt bunny is so adorable that your kids will be happy to play with it!

Before starting work, process the template with a bunny on a computer and increase or decrease it, respectively, to the right sizes... Then, if you are unable to print at home, go to a printing center and print a pattern.

Step 1: print the template

Print and then cut out the template.

Bunny pattern from felt:

Optionally, you can attach an oval circle or heart to the Bunny's tummy.

Step 2: cut out the patterns

Choose a felt fabric that matches the color and size. Place the bunny's body on the felt and carefully trace all sides of the felt with a pencil. You need 2 such details.

Then place the ear and tummy patterns (oval or heart) on the pink felt. Trace the details around the perimeter with a pencil.

Use scissors to cut out all the necessary elements.

Step 3: sew the pink details onto the body

Place the pink parts on the hare's body according to the photo below.

Sew on the ears and tummy of the figurine using hand overlock stitch.

Step 4: make a muzzle

Sew on the face of the figurine two black beads in the form of eyes. Use black thread to gently embroider the nose and mouth.

Step 5: sew the body

Place upper part hare on the bottom so that the drawing is at the top. Use a hand overedge seam to join them together. Start sewing the elements either from the bottom or from the top of the hare. We started with the right ear.

When you're halfway through sewing, fill the craft with cotton, wool, or leftover felt. After filling in half, continue stitches. Fill in each section after you sew it. After finishing the connection, tie 2-3 knots on the remaining thread and cut off the excess.

I have already spoken many times about my love for such material for needlework as felt and how much I love to sew from it. Therefore, when I was faced with the question of what to sew a keychain for a phone, the answer was obvious. But I didn't immediately decide how it should look.

However, everything was decided very quickly. On this day, we had a planned trip to our grandmother and I realized that it would be a bunny. The felt hare is gray, with long protruding ears and a little cowardly. But how to sew it like this? You will find the answer below.

How to sew a hare out of felt with your own hands?

There will be some peculiarities here, since we will not make a toy, but a functional product - a keychain for a phone or for keys. Therefore, we will consider some points in more detail. But before that, a few words about what needs to be prepared for work and where to get the pattern.

Felt hare pattern and list of materials for work

Let's start with the second, namely the list of materials. Our felt hare should look a little scared by design, so think in advance about what its muzzle will be. To do this, you can look at sketches of various emotions on the Internet. Or buy special eyes for toys.

In addition to the peephole, you will also need:

  1. felt;
  2. scissors;
  3. thread and needle;
  4. filler for toys;
  5. glue Moment Crystal.

In addition to gray felt, for ears, heels and tummy, you will also need pink color... As for the density, for this key fob, I chose a material with a thickness of 1 mm. As a filler, you can take either a synthetic winterizer or holofiber.

Basic manufacturing process

One, two, three, four, five - The bunny went out for a walk! Remember this poem from your childhood? In our case, of course, it will not be possible to do everything "one, two, three", but nevertheless I will try to explain in such a way that making a keychain does not take too much time from you.

Attention

I draw your attention to the fact that in the attached file you will not find the pads for the heels and the nose.

I simply forgot about them when I was preparing a pattern for a hare. But they are very easy to cut yourself. 6 small circles for the hind legs (three for each) and one larger for the nose.

After all the details have been cut out, we proceed to their sequential stitching. Let's start with the heels.

In this case, unlike our previous pet, when sewing, we use a seam "over the edge" with a two-fold thread.

This type of connection gives an additional decorative design in the finished product - in this case, it also plays the role of edging.

In the same way, we sew the legs together. After that, we start making the loop. This is a very tedious business in this case, but you will like the result. From threads in several folds, we need to weave a pigtail with a length of approx. 4-5 cm and fasten with knots on both sides.

Fold it in half and form a loop, apply it to the part and glue it with a piece of gauze.

You can make the length of the loop at your discretion - it seemed to me a sufficient length of half a centimeter.

We connect the tummy to the body, stitching both parts together in a circle, leaving the area for stuffing not sewn up at the top. We fill with filler, sew up and break the thread.

This is how we imperceptibly got to the final stage of the process - to the final assembly of the main parts and the design of the face.

Final assembly of parts and decoration

And now the most interesting stage of work begins, because from this moment, step by step, we will observe the real results of our more and more new actions.

We'll start by gluing the legs to the torso at the base of the neck. And then we connect both parts of the head with the ears, stitching them together in a circle. Before reaching the end, we fill our head with filler and sew up the remaining area.

Great, isn't it? You like? A little more and you will have a new cute keychain for your phone in the shape of a funny eared hare.

Now we take the heels in our hands and, having chosen the position we like, glue them. I glued it so that the upper (more precisely, the front) legs remained mobile.

We glue the pink pads on the heels and fingers, as well as the inner pink parts of the ears. From threads using a primitive round template we make a pompom - the future tail.

We attach the ponytail. Turn over and glue the eyes, nose and mouth. In order to make the mouth, I smeared pink thread, folded 2 times with Chinese super glue and giving the necessary shape, let it dry. Then she cut off the excess and glued it to her face with glue. Moment.

The felt hare is ready. It remains only to insert a ring with a cord into the loop and attach it to the phone.

Share the material with your friends in social networks, add it to your pages or bookmarks, subscribe to my mailing list with new master classes with templates, patterns, announcements of contests and other equally interesting handicraft projects, and always be positive and creatively purposeful!

I wish you creative success and great mood!

Zainka is gray, zainka is felt!

Sew a toy for a child

What could be more fun and easier than a do-it-yourself felt hare? And if you do it with your child - even more so! After all, the time of miracles is approaching - New Year, and you need to prepare well for it, having sewn all sorts of things for this holiday! Is your child able to hold the needle in his hands without dropping it or getting pricked? Do not know? It's time to check it out! Your fear is understandable: a sharp object. But the child can take the needle from the box without you. Therefore, you better let him do it!

There will be several points in the work that require some understanding.

Material and pattern

For the craft material, let's take 1-1.5 mm thick felt made from 100% viscose or 100% polyester. This is a material grateful for hands and for work: soft and pliable (after all, it contains all the tenderness of fluff and animal hair), but dense and durable. Having no face and wrong side and not crumbling (which means you don't need to tuck the edges), cut, glue it and, in general, make whatever you want out of it! And at our service - all the colors of his "rainbow"! Just clean and wash it then gently, and that's it.

Task: do-it-yourself felt bunny (pattern)

The first thing we have to do is, having found a suitable drawing - a contour, draw it with our own hands or copy it onto a felt sheet of the color we like. Before that, choosing the most desirable in appearance and character of the animal. This is important, because if in the photo your bunny is sad, or offended, or afraid of something, then it will become the same in the product. Better to choose a funny and cheerful hare! Let your child take an example from him!

Soft toy bunny in the form of a pattern - the outline can be like this:

or you can draw or sketch any other scheme - a drawing.

Don't worry, you don't need much precision here! If you suddenly made a mistake in the work, you can always correct it. As a last resort, start over! The main thing is that work brings joy and pleasant excitement in the chest. As in childhood, when we did something for the first time.

Part - base and parts - finishing

The hare pattern contains the following parts - blanks:

  • torso with head (2 parts):
  • ear pads (2 parts);
  • muzzle (1 piece);
  • spout (1 piece);
  • eyes (2 parts);
  • tail (1 piece);
  • breast (1 piece)

Take a look at the picture. Our felt bunny is a pattern, these are two main details on which everything else will be sewn. This is the soft base of the toy.

The body of a hare with a head and protruding ears at the top, protruding to the sides, rounded hind legs at the bottom of the part.

Two identical parts - the body with the head will be sewn together at the edges, so it is better to cut them together along the contour, folding the felt sheet in half. This makes it easier to get two exactly the same parts than cutting each separately.

The rest of the details of the future toy are: the inner parts of the ears (the paired part at the top of the picture), between them there is a blank for the nose. Slightly below - the future muzzle (the part where the mustache should be; the place where the nose blank will be sewn is marked with dashes - dotted lines), this part is single. The next one, too, is the breast of a toy bunny, its place on the product - on the side that will become the front, below the head of the hare, approximately in the middle of the body.

The last detail is a steam room, these are the eyes of the future toy, but for now - blanks for it.

In conclusion, according to the size and shape of the part - we cut out the eyes with our own hands one more detail - the tail of the bunny.

Since our hare will not be one-color, but quite the same as the real one, we cut out the blank for the nose from black felt, and all other small details of the future product - from white felt.

Carefully examine the contour - the diagram and mentally lay out the details in the places where they should be.

Getting started: copy and cut

Where to begin? Enlarge the outline - the outline to the size you need and copy it on the printer onto a sheet of not very thick paper. Such density that the lines drawn with a pencil on paper (with a cloth placed under it - felt) are slightly crushed.

Now place the copy paper on the felt of your chosen base color (gray, brown, or whatever) with the inked side down and the matte side up. Trace the details with a pencil along the contour.

When trimming two main details along the edge, decide in advance what your bunny will be: flat or voluminous (convex). If it is voluminous, you will need a soft material to fill the "pocket" formed after sewing (not completely) the textile edges of the two main parts. After filling the toy with "stuffing", the sewing of the edges can be completed. The material for "stuffing" a toy can be cotton wool, batting, foam rubber, synthetic winterizer (material used to insulate jackets) or other soft textile material that does not decompose when water gets into the product.

At the end of the manufacture of the hare's body, we choose where the toy will have a front surface, and on the places intended for them we sew the pink insides of the ears, a muzzle with a nose already sewn on, eyes with imitations of the iris and a glare embroidered or glued to them (you can sew buttons instead of them) , and on the body we sew a white detail - the breast. Turning over almost ready product face down, sew on a tail cut out of white felt. It remains to mark the line of the mouth with a hare smile (we sew two bows from a round lace).

You can do it differently: first sew on the two main parts all the small ones, doing the work using the applique technique, and then sew them together. Which technique you choose depends on how confident you are with the needle and thread. Write in the comments what you think about the do-it-yourself textile hares.

Other patterns, other hares!

According to the same scheme, you can perform other pleasant work with the general theme "textile toys - do-it-yourself hares with patterns", the only difference will be the material from which the dolls will be sewn (this will be textiles) and patterns for their manufacture.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated in this work, there would be patterns! And if they are not there, you can come up with your own. Textile bunnies are very pleasant to the touch, and if you do them yourself, then they are also very memorable.

Both you and your baby are a little tired, but how much joy you and he received in the process of the sacrament of creation, and yet you did everything with your own hands! It was worth spending a little time and effort for this!
