Dense ribbon lace crochet patterns and description. Ribbon lace description of a crochet pattern for beginners. Ribbon lace dress

Preparations

Patterns developed by chain stitch embroiderers in the medieval era, with the spread of the use of the hook, entered the household use of craftswomen-knitters all over the world. Schemes and descriptions of the knitting process are improving and progressing. As a result of this process, the technique of crochet ribbon lace, beloved by many needlewomen, appeared.

Crochet ribbon lace, patterns and descriptions of its knitting have a long history. Even the ancient Egyptian slaves wove long ribbons of their aprons from straw with sticks, which then did not have heads, like modern hooks. The knitting tool gradually acquired a convenient shape, which made it possible to combine simple loops and columns in their complex combinations.

Even the invention of knitting machines did not force needlewomen to abandon weaving with a hook. Over time, the developments and standards of the masters, made in the same style, received their specific names.

Of a certain length, rectangular connections of openwork motifs and patterns, forming lace ribbons with embossed edges and assembled into flat geometric shapes, began to be called ribbon lace. The technique of knitting ribbons has absorbed the techniques inherent in patterns made by Bruges, Irish, Brussels and other crochet methods.

Distinctive feature- in the ribbons, the central strip is clearly visible, around which the same type of patterns are knitted on both sides.

Most often, oval semi-motifs are used for side patterns. Irish lace.

Rules for crocheting products from lace ribbon fabrics

Crocheted ribbon lace, diagrams and descriptions of the processes for making products from it are subject to certain rules that help novice knitters not to commit common mistakes, resulting in dressing the product.

The main rule is not to start knitting a product without completing several control samples of a ribbon of small length. Knitting samples not only facilitates further work and helps to master the technique of making a pattern, but also allows you to make sure that the thickness of the threads and their color will be in harmony with the selected pattern.

It is necessary to moisten the samples and determine the size of their shrinkage after drying and the deformations that have occurred. After that, fasten the samples together in order to understand that the chosen method of coupling the edges of the tapes will not lead to swelling of the web.

Ribbon lace looks very nice. There are many patterns of such knitting.

It is best to start knitting the lower part of the strip with a whole motive, which will allow the bottom of the product to look neat. If inserts are planned between the ribbons, for example, from a sirloin mesh or elements of Irish lace, then you cannot do without an accurate pattern or use of a mannequin.

Conventions used for ribbon lace patterns

Needlewomen use symbols grouped into specific patterns to indicate knitting techniques and methods.

AT modern world for ribbon lace crocheted such diverse schemes and descriptions have been developed that so far it has not been possible to come to the conclusion that all of them use the same type of icons, therefore, next to each scheme, there is usually a decoding of symbols.

You should carefully look not only at the images, but also read the text next to them, because the same terms from different compilers of schemes can be indicated by different symbols. Using the simplest finishing braid as an example, let's take a closer look at the pattern and techniques for crocheting ribbon lace. We start by looking at the knitting pattern.

Formation of the first row

The beginning of knitting is a chain of 10 air loops twisted at the top. In short form, it is designated as 10 ch, in the diagrams it looks like circles or ovals connected to each other.

The first 3 ch underlined by the arc are the basis of the center of the tape, then columns with two crochets (st2n) will be attached to them. The chain ends with three curved ch. This is one of the designations of a knitting technique called "picot", sometimes it is indicated in the diagrams with a black droplet.

There are several ways to knit the first air loop, which is also called the initial or working one. The simplest of them is to put a loop twisted by hand on the hook.

To form a chain from ch, we pick up the thread and pull it through the initial loop hanging on the hook. The stretched thread will form the next working loop. It remains hanging on the hook, it is not taken into account when counting the loops in the chain. The loop removed from the hook is the second ch. We repeat the reception as many times as there are ovals in the diagram.

We knit a pico

We skip 2 loops of the chain, do not count the hanging on the hook, we stick the hook under the upper arc of the third loop and pull the working thread through it.

We form a column with one crochet (st1n), on top of which there will also be a pico. We throw a thread on the hook, we stick it into the 4th from the beginning of knitting ch. Between the just knitted pico and the injection point, 3 ch remains. We introduce a hook under the upper arc (half-loop) ch, grab the thread and pull it through the loop.

Three loops hang from the hook. We pass the thread through the farthest two loops, 2 loops remain on the hook. We pick up the thread and drag it through the arms of the remaining two loops. A bow from one loop hangs on the hook, and a column is between the lower chain and this loop.

We knit a pico technique over st1sn: we knit 3 ch, we stick the hook into the gap between the chs, over which the picot is already knitted, and the first st1n, we skip it under the column, grab the thread and pull it to the front side - there are two loops on the hook, grab the thread again and drag through these two loops, on the hook - one loop.

When knitting the second st1n, we take into account that it will be located above the same loop over which the first st1n was formed, that is, after the yarn, you need to stick the hook into the same loop and form the second st1n. A slingshot is formed from 2 st1n, emanating from one point. Pico over it we knit similarly to the previous one.

Over the next ch we knit a column with two crochets. For reference: an extra stroke on the column icon indicates another crochet. We knit yarn over alternately, pulling the thread through every two loops, until one loop remains on the hook. Then the diagram indicates that it is necessary to knit 1ch, and form another 1 st2n over the initial ch and go to the next row.

Second row

Beginning: a chain of 7ch. Knitting is turned over after knitting 7 ch and from the wrong side we continue to act according to the pattern of the first row.
Ribbon crochet lace. The diagrams and description for them do not decipher how to link the strips together. Therefore, before starting to knit a product, short samples are knitted and several options for connections are tested.

How to connect ribbon lace

We connect the two strips of the sample in question at two points: picot above the air loops and picot above the first c1n. For the first attachment point (Fig. 1-3), after knitting 5 ch, we pull the working thread through the picot of the light strip, turn the knitting over and knit two ch - we finish the first picot.

For the second connection (Fig. 4-6), after st1n we knit 1ch, yarn over on the hook and knit st1n through the second picot, then 1ch and finish the picot according to the second knitting option.

Crocheted ribbon lace, the diagrams and description of which we examined above, is formed into any fabric, because it is not difficult to connect individual ribbons when knitting pico. In this case, the first tape is knitted completely, and the second is connected to it while gradually knitting its length.

The coupling is made either with the help of columns or without them. Since the columns can be knitted with any number of crochets, that is, they can be lengthened, then at the stage of making control samples, it is necessary to calculate what height, it means with how many crochets, the columns involved in the process of tape adhesion will be required.

To adjust the width of the clothes, first fasten the front ribbons, then the backs.

After applying to the pattern, the height of the columns is determined to fasten the parts of the product together, or mesh knitting is used. If each tape is knitted without simultaneously connecting to the next, then the hitch can be made only after pinning all the tapes to the pattern. The length, the number of ribbons, the distance between them and the sequence of knitting are compared with the pattern.

Scheme and description of crochet simple ribbon lace

Many ribbon laces are knitted with two columns in the center, as in the variant discussed above. Here is a diagram of a slightly more complex pattern. Lush columns (spsh) with a common top are added to it. It is clear from the diagram that they are knitted without sticking the hook into the air loops or into the knitting fabric, but leading it under the chain from ch.

Technique of knitting a lush column

Knitting is performed according to the following pattern:

Knitting according to the scheme

In the first row of st1n and chains of VP we form the central part of the pattern. Then we move on to the second row, knitting from the top of st1n 3 ch. We introduce a hook under the arc from the ch and knit 2 spsh, between them 4 ch.

We connect to the lower arc with two ch and a single crochet (sc). To go to the next spsh, we knit 2 ch and under the next arc we form three magnificent columns at intervals of 4 ch.

To perform a turn after 2ch under the last arc from 4ch of the previous row, and if instead of it there are a couple of columns of the first row, then under the first column, we knit 1 spsh + 4ch + 1spsh + 4ch, do not forget to hide the initial end of the thread in the knitting fabric.

Then we introduce a hook between the last two s1n and again 1spsh + 4ch + 1spsh + 4ch, in the same way we knit on the opposite side from the knitting center 1spsh + 4ch + 1spsh.

We connect to the lower arc from the first row: 2ch + 1sc under the chain + 2ch. In total, 6 spsh are formed over three arcs on the turn (Fig. 1-3). We continue to form the 2nd row, we knit combinations of 3spsh and 4ch over the chains.

We knit the final turn following the example of the previous one, we connect to the top of the very first spsh with the help of 4ch. We proceed to tying the arcs of the second row with single crochets with the simultaneous formation of a picot. In this case, 3ch for pico will start from sc and connect to its upper half loops (Fig. 4-6).

Knitting pattern for a white blouse

Crocheted ribbon lace, diagrams and a description of the pattern for a blouse provide for the adhesion of ribbons while knitting a solid fabric, because the edges of the ribbons are formed by chains of air loops. They form convex arcs. When forming chains, the edges of the tapes are tied to each other.

Central motif

Round or oval motifs and semi-motifs form patterns for ribbon lace. Petals are located along the edges of the motif. To maintain the symmetry of patterns and ease of knitting, the central motifs are knitted with an even number of petals, halves of motifs with an odd number.

Schemes and descriptions of patterns are mainly designed for needlewomen with knitting experience. Therefore, when climbing a row higher, the first air lifting loops are not reflected. Instead, columns with a certain number of crochets are displayed. The same inaccuracies were made in this scheme. In addition, rows are not indicated, after which it is necessary to turn the knitting fabric.

The first row is considered a circle, in the center of which is the number "5". This means that you need to knit 5 ch and close them in a ring. To close the circle at the end of the chain, a thread is pulled through the first loop, forming a connecting loop (cn).

We start the second with a chain knitted from a cn of 5ch, replacing the first column with two crochets (1s2n). We introduce the hook into the ring and begin to alternately knit another 23 s2n. We connect the top of the last column in this row with the help of cn to the upper air loop of the first column.

Briefly, the second row entry will look like this:

  1. 24 st2n. In the third row, 4vp rise from the cn - the first three replace c1n, the last one is the gap between the columns. At the tops of the lower c2n we knit 23c1n, alternating them with 1ch. We finish a series of sp.
  2. (1s1n + 1vp) x 24.

We knit petals

The fourth row begins with a chain of 6ch and 1c1n. Having brought the hook under the air loop of the third row, we knit 1c1n. From its top we knit 3 ch, and around the leg of the column we knit another 5 s1n, gradually descending to the air loop located behind the lower column.

This group of columns ends, forming the first petal, 1sc: (6ch + 1st1n + 3ch + 5st1n + sc) x10.

Each petal is thus knitted over the two lower columns, separated by one ch.

Transition to semi-motive

From the last single crochet, we knit 9 ch and connect with a single crochet to the ch that goes in front of the first petal.

Then, instead of the first column of the semi-motive - 5ch to raise knitting a row higher.

We stick a hook with knitted loops into the upper chain, which is located in front of the hook, and attach the connecting loop to the bottom of the top of the first petal in the fourth row. Knitting is turned over.

Knitting the first half-motif

Before us is the wrong side of knitting. A feature of all ribbon lace is that it is not possible to tie it completely from the front side. Complex transitions with flips of the knitting fabric are made in order not to constantly break the thread. We knit over an arc of 9vp 13 st2n. The fabric must be turned over, this technique is called knitting with rotary rows.

  • (1s1n + 1vp) x13
  • (6ch + 1st1n + 3ch + 5 st1n + sc) x5

We fix the arc for the transition to the opposite petal between the top of the last petal of the first semi-motive and the top of the penultimate petal of the central motif. Further work will consist in knitting half-motifs to the length necessary for the tape while simultaneously connecting adjacent tapes. Sew shoulder seams.

The use of ribbon lace

Needlewomen find new areas of application for patterned fabrics and ways to connect ribbons. Based on this scheme, a cap was knitted with an inconspicuous connection of ribbon lace. This connection method is used for transverse laying of tapes in the knitting process. outerwear.

The craftswoman marked the beginning of knitting in green, and the final row is red. The basis for the columns of the first row was a separately connected chain of ch of arbitrary length.

Crochet lace lesson:

The method by which you can knit lace stripes of different lengths and widths is called ribbon lace. Ribbons can be different: oval, square, triangular.

The shape of the tape depends on the sector and pattern. You can use narrow and wide ribbon lace when finishing and when creating individual household items.

Most often simple ribbon knitting is varied. Initially, if you knit any piece of clothing, you need to make the desired pattern of the finished item. You can also take ready product for the pattern. For knitting ribbon lace, you need to take and use special yarn, in the composition that will be cotton.

What tools will be required for work:

  • Hook of the right size.
  • Needles.
  • Scissors.

Before knitting decide on the pattern and lace. After choosing a lace pattern, you can start knitting. The first step in creating ribbon lace is knitting a chain from air loops.

Then the chain is transformed into a circle and tied with a single crochet. After creating the base, you need to work according to the drawing scheme. Choose the length of the ribbon and knit according to your need.

If a certain length is reached, the thread can be broken and a new ribbon can be knitted. When all tapes are ready, they need to be merge into a single piece.

Connect them with needles or hook. But before that you need related place the ribbons on the pattern in order and with pins fasten the ribbons on the patterns.

If you connected the motives with a needle, then you need sew them together from the inside out. For expansion, it is better to use a hook, because of its convenience. How to make a connection with a hook: we knit several air loops, then grab one and then the other side of the finished part.

Now we will analyze best method on knitting ribbon lace, that is, a master class on creating a dress.

  • First, we need to take 550 grams of yarn, of which there should be 300 grams of pistachio color and 250 olive.
  • You also need a hook number 1.1 - 1.25 for work.

To make a beautiful product that will lie exactly on the figure, you need to create sirloin inserts that connect the ribbons. Initially, you need to make a pattern of all parts of the dress in full size, while adjusting the pattern according to your own standards. After that, you need to study the patterns of ribbon lace for the dress.

According to scheme No. 7, it is necessary make a tape pattern, which then needs to be checked to ensure that the dimensions correspond to those shown in the figure under No. 8.

If necessary you can increase or decrease the width of the strip. To do this, take a hook with the thickness you need. For the back, you need to make two strips, each should be 99 cm long, two more strips 97 cm long. All this is knitted from olive-colored yarn.

To make a front, you need to tie two strips 99 cm and 85 cm each.

Finished back pieces going up and down using pistachio-colored threads. The stripes should be unevenly spaced in relation to each other.

The distance from the shoulder to the very waist must be connected using a sirloin mesh, which will be 2 cm wide.

Then from the waist we continue knitting wedges- inserts with a special mesh. The silhouette line is created due to the fact that the number of mesh cells increases according to the pattern.

The connection of the strips occurs in the course of work. A sample can be taken from scheme 7B. It clearly shows how to connect and expand wedges. The front strips are connected in the same way.

Further all seams are connected on the sides with fillet mesh. Do not forget that you need to leave the armholes of the dress open with a height of 20 cm. The main point in knitting is that when creating a dress, you need to often try on and see how the product sits.

The finished canvas needs to be continuously sew with a knit stitch along the lines of the shoulder. Using the knitting pattern at number 8, we knit the sleeves, after which we sew them into the armholes. The neckline is also made according to the scheme No. 8. Now our gorgeous dress is ready. It is not so difficult to make a connection of parts and make your dress.

Ribbon lace, models

Every beginner in this business needs to study the models of ribbon lace, at first you can just go over the photo with your eyes and choose the option that suits you. Next you need view diagrams, video materials, and then you will definitely decide on the choice. Most importantly, remember that you need to read all the descriptions for the circuits!

Conclusion

Needlework will always be highly valued, so it's better to make a thing yourself rather than buy it in a store. Appreciate your creativity and maybe one day you can even make money from it. Well, advice for beginners: after reading the description, you can ask the opinion of people with experience in this matter.

Content

There are a lot of crochet techniques. One of them is the production of individual motifs in the form of ribbons. Hence the name of the technique - ribbon crochet. With it, you can create the most different models clothes or just household items. You will find several master classes on knitting them below.

Crochet patterns from ribbon lace with patterns

If you plan to use the description for the manufacture of any item of clothing, then you should start with a pattern. Although you can take the finished thing. For knitting ribbon lace, it is better to choose thin types of cotton threads. After preparing the tools, you need to decide on the pattern. Exist simple circuits for the manufacture of thin tapes and more complex patterns - to get wider elements.

Ribbon lace dress

Very often in various magazines you can find knitting master classes in this technique of dresses. For one of them you will need the following amount of viscose yarn:

  • dark purple - 300 g;
  • light purple - 200 g.

For an evening model, you can replace one of the colors with black. The master class describes the process of creating a size 42 dress. The first step is to make a life-size pattern. Then follow the instructions:

  1. For the back, make 2 light and 3 dark strips 107 cm long.
  2. On the front, tie 2 light ribbons of 107 cm each, 2 dark ones, only 99 cm long, and 1 more light one - 91 cm.
  3. Using scheme 20a, connect the stripes on the back from the shoulder to the waist.
  4. Then, with dark yarn, make wedges that are knitted with a sirloin mesh by alternating 1 single crochet (RLS) and air loop(VP). Connect them with lace stripes using scheme 20b. Connect the front elements in the same way.
  5. Join the seams at the sides, leaving only the armholes. Sew the fabric over the shoulders with a knitted seam.
  6. Make a collar from 1 strip 60 cm long, sew it to the neck.
  7. Using the 12v scheme, make 3 flowers. Sew them along the horizontal cut line. Decorate the flowers with beaded stamens.
  8. Tie the armholes with a sirloin mesh, making 3 rows.

Openwork bolero in the technique of ribbon lace

With this technique, you can knit another element of the women's wardrobe, which is especially suitable for summer. This is a lace bolero. For size 46 you will need the following materials and tools:

  • cotton yarn Ymart with a density of 600 m per 100 g - 300 g;
  • hook number 2.
  1. Back. Using 1 scheme, make 5 strips. Of these, 2 38 cm long (1 and 5) connect along the smaller longitudinal side, and 2 46 cm long - along the larger direction. Determine the size 2 of the tape according to the pattern by trying on.
  2. Right side front. According to the 1st scheme, make 5 ribbons, connect them immediately in the process of work. All bands, except 3, perform with an odd number of motives. The length of the ribbons is also determined by the pattern.
  3. The left half of the front is easy to make. Run it mirror right.
  4. Sleeve. Using 1 diagram, make 6 ribbons and 2 more for an okat from 2 fan motifs. Place the latter mirrored relative to each other, as shown in Figure 2.
  5. Assembly of elements. Connect the free edges of the motifs on all sides of the parts with air loops, which are attached to the RLS ribbons themselves. Sew all the elements or form into a product using a hook.
  6. Collar. Make 2 strips, in which the 2nd motif will consist of 9 sc. Attach the part to the bolero, then tie it around the edge according to diagram 2.

Ribbon lace jacket

Another lesson, where crocheted ribbon lace, describes the manufacture of a jacket - a shortened variation of a jacket. Its length is about to the waist or slightly below. For the model described below, you will need 400 g of 100% viscose yarn in the following colors:

  • brown;
  • mahogany;
  • dark yellow;
  • light green 2 shades.

In the first step, you must again make a pattern and a sample of the tape in order to check it for compliance with its specified width. Each detail is carried out according to the following instructions:

  1. Back. According to the pattern, make 9 strips of the specified length. You can determine the color of each ribbon from the photo of the back. Connect the ribbons immediately in the process of knitting RLS or with a hitch.
  2. Half front. Tie 4 strips of the length indicated in Figure 6, take the color from the color photo. When knitting the 5th ribbon, continue it 26 cm for subsequent stitching into the neck, and then proceed to the manufacture of the 2nd half of the front in the same way, only already mirrored.
  3. Sleeves. Make 7 strips of the specified length according to the pattern, connecting them together immediately in the process of knitting.
  4. Assembly. Sew or crochet the shoulder and side seams, sew in the sleeves.

Summer T-shirt, assembled from separate openwork stripes

Such lace is especially suitable for summer clothes, because it turns out to be very light and openwork. It can be a simple T-shirt that knits very quickly. It will take about 400 g of white yarn from 100% cotton with a density of 170 m per 50 g. First, according to Figure 13-1, make a life-size pattern. Then follow this step by step guide:

  1. Tie according to the scheme of the main pattern 8 ribbons 65 cm long and 4 - 50 cm each. In the places where the arrows are indicated, fasten the strips together.
  2. Connect the shelves with lacing. To make shoelaces for this, tie a chain of air loops 170 cm long.

Patterns and patterns of ribbon lace with a detailed description

Ribbon lace has many different patterns. In most descriptions of them, the basis is an openwork round motif, which is repeated several times. Such elements are connected horizontally, vertically or even obliquely diagonally. Ribbon lace is often combined with Irish. Another addition to it is a fillet net. Crocheted ribbon lace is knitted according to different patterns, sometimes even in combination with knitting needles. A few basic patterns are as follows:

  1. "Pineapples". One of the most popular patterns. Consists of separate elements similar to pineapples. To connect the ribbons on the sides, special arcs are knitted from air loops. In this way, beautiful skirts, dresses and tunics are obtained.
  2. Narrow bands. They are often used as straps for summer tops with a bodice or swimwear. Those that are wider are well suited for the shoulders of a sundress.
  3. On the base square motifs. The basis of ribbon lace can be not only circles. Such elements look no less beautiful, often used to create knitted cardigans or jackets.
  4. Floral motifs. In the manufacture of women's and children's clothing, such ribbon patterns occupy one of the first places. They look much more interesting than simple drawings of curls or other small details.

This section of needlework is one of the most exciting, but also quite complex techniques crochet. Its essence is the formation of ribbons from motifs, as a rule, round and openwork. An intricate and sophisticated pattern is achieved by tying one petal to another, and the petals themselves are formed as follows: two thirds of the circle are knitted and attached to the next element. Below we will briefly introduce crochet ribbon lace, diagrams and models will help you navigate this fascinating needlework.

Knitting always begins with a full motif, and there is always an odd number of rows in the petal. You can make a ribbon not only in the form of circles, but also square, hexagonal motifs.

Ribbon knitting is used to make clothes, trim elements, and also as a beautiful finishing border - to decorate the bottom of a product or correct an unsuccessful edge.

We connect motives

It is important to connect the tapes correctly. Two connection methods are allowed:

  1. Sew finished tapes with a needle for a picot (the method is simple and convenient, although it forms a seam);
  2. Connect the ribbons at the time of knitting (there is no seam, however, the method is rather complicated due to the asymmetry of the edges of the ribbon lace).

Tip: you need to place the ribbon on the pattern from the bottom up, starting from the full (round) motif, to form a beautiful edge. It is better to start with the longest possible tape - say, from the bottom to the shoulder.

The narrowing of the tape fabric is achieved due to the fact that one of the tapes is knitted shorter, and the following are interconnected.

A small master class on crochet ribbon lace here:

Starting simple

The choice of a scheme for ribbon lace depends on the skill of the knitter, while the technique itself presents almost unlimited possibilities for creativity.

For those who are starting to knit a lace ribbon for the first time, we advise you to start with a simple border. She knits simply: starting with the air ring. loops, tie it st. b/n. Then continue knitting with arches from the air. loops and st. s2n, tied with st.b / n.

Ribbon lace patterns:

The presented schemes are taken from the magazine "Doublet".

Suitable Models

Now that you know how to crochet ribbon lace, photos, diagrams for them will help you decide on the models.

Blouse "Temptation"

snow white suit

This suit with an openwork top and an asymmetric tight-knit skirt will suit a young and slender girl. Before starting knitting, you need to make a pattern and make all decreases and increases according to it. Skirt knit in a circle.

You will need: 46 balls of white "Iris" (knitted in 2 additions), hook number 2. Size: 38-40.

Scheme:

We start the top by knitting a strip according to the first scheme, consisting of a whole motive, six right and six left halves of motives. Next, we knit the strips according to the second scheme and connect them as shown in the third scheme.

The skirt is knitted top down in the round. In accordance with the pattern, increases and decreases are knitted.

You need to start with a set of chains from the air. loops of the desired length. Next, close it in a ring and knit the fabric according to scheme No. 3. Make additions on the sides according to scheme No. 4. Tied to the bottom, close the edge.

That's all! We hope that now knitting ribbon lace will not be a problem for you.
