Yes, there is a simple, but ingenious way, using which you will forget about the annoying incident. Moreover, for him you do not need to get the thread. What you need:

• the damaged thing with a hole (it's not bad if the hole is small, somewhere up to 0.5 mm);
• iron;
• ironing board;
• parchment paper;
• special spray bottle with water;
• white cloth;
• spider web tape, it is taken for gluing fabric;
• thin non-woven (adhesive).

Procedure:

First, lay the parchment carefully on top of the board. He will protect her from the consequences of the "experiment."

Now carefully turn the damaged item inside out and lay it on top of the sheet on the board. Tighten the edges of the hole so that they touch, and the hole disappears.

Cut a piece from the gossamer tape you use to glue fabric cuts (you can find it easily at specialty fabric stores). Place it more tightly on the hole, and on top put a piece from the glue non-woven fabric (buy it in the same place where you took the gossamer tape).

Set the iron (if available) to the Wool setting. Now spread a piece of plain, white fabric over the top of the garment, being careful not to touch the patches. Spray it with a spray bottle. Remember the place where the patch is under the fabric and install an already heated iron on it.

Put it on, do not drive, otherwise the patches can be displaced. Just hold it for 10-15 seconds. Do not be afraid, it will not burn through the fabric, especially if the iron is of a modern model.

How to mend a hole

If there is not just a small breakthrough, but a real hole, then it should be darned or plastered. It will not work just to sew it up - it will be too noticeable.

Stitching and darning are, in fact, the same process, with the only difference that knitted things are darned, having previously laid them on something convex.

Darning (or stitching) is carried out as follows:

1. Pull the fabric with the right side facing you.
2. Pick up threads that completely resemble the threads of the fabric from which the item is sewn. If necessary, you can pull the thread out of the garment itself from the edge on the seamy side.
3. Each stitch engages a strong part of the fabric and is led to the opposite side, a tiny stitch is made there, then the next stitch returns the needle to the previous side.
4. First, the entire area is darned in one direction, then - in the perpendicular to it. In this case, the stitches are carried out in waves: the needle goes over one thread, then goes under the second, then goes over the third, and so on. A kind of lattice of threads is created.

When mending clothes, you should try to make the general outline of the darned area resemble a circle. With a successful selection of thread and accurate work, the darned section is almost invisible, at least not striking.

Applying a patch

When the edges of the hole are torn and crooked, it is advisable to apply a patch. For this, the edges of the breakthrough are cut in such a way as to resemble a clear geometric figure that best suits the pattern on the fabric: a circle, a rhombus, a square. A patch for a patch is usually recommended to be matched to the color of the fabric, preferably with the same pattern. As a rule, a suitable patch is attached to the garment. It is preliminarily recommended to wash it in hot water, because if it shrinks after being sewn to the product, "wrinkles" will appear.

The flap is applied to the seamy side of the repaired product with the front side, so that the pattern or the shared threads coincide. First, the patch is attached to the product with a basting stitch. Then the edges of the patch are folded over and sewn on with a blind stitch. The next step is already bending the hole itself (of course, inside) and hemming. It should also be used for this. Now you can remove the basting thread and iron the patch with an iron.

Unfortunately, even with great care, the patch usually remains more or less noticeable.

However, there is an extraordinary way out of this situation - to apply a deliberately noticeable patch of a contrasting color. In this case, everything will look as if she is decorating the product, and not trying to hide a hole.

Thermal patches can also be used for this purpose. They look stylish and are very easy to apply: it is enough to iron them with a hot iron and they stick almost "tightly". Experience has shown that high-quality iron-on transfers hold up even after repeated washing.
