I have a square of red fabric about 0.7 square meters, which I cut out from the front of an old dress. I didn't cut off the sides. Useful for sewing.

Let's iron our fabric first. Fold in half face to face, put the long side of the pattern to the fold. And we circle with a small piece or a bar of soap with 1 cm seam allowances. Simple models can be cut along the ruler, drawing the desired dimensions directly on the fabric.

We attach a strip of synthetic winterizer, felt or fur to the lower cut of the cap with the face (relevant only for fur) to the inside of the cap and sweep it at a distance of 1 cm from the edge.

We grind on sewing machine by pulling in the top thread red and the bottom thread white.

So, we have sewn fur for the lapel to the cap.

Then turn off the fur and go through the seam with a hot iron. Don't burn!

Then fold the cap along the fold line.

And we sew along the side seam, not reaching the angle of 3 cm. This is necessary for sewing in the brush. Overcast the edges with an overlocker or zigzag with a machine.

We fold a brush from a piece of synthetic winterizer or fur and insert it inside the cap.

We sew a brush from the inside of the cap, making a pinch on it.

Before you start knitting, you need to calculate the loops. To do this, knit a small sample of the knitting used. If the product uses two types of knitting, as in the photo, you need to knit a sample of elastic and handkerchief pattern. Then you need to steam this knitted piece with an iron through a damp cotton cloth.

The number of loops of the sample must be divided by its width in centimeters. You will get a calculation of how many loops you need to dial per 1 cm. Then you need to multiply these data by the head circumference. To the resulting number of loops for dialing on the knitting needles, we also add two edge ones.

Having knitted the length of the elastic, they tie a red thread and continue to knit with a garter stitch. The knitting height before decreasing is 15 cm. Then a gradual decrease in the number of loops begins.

Here, too, you need to take a measurement. You need to think about how high the cap will be. The length of the knitted part of the product must be divided by the number of rows in the sample and multiplied by the desired length of the cap. Thus, the number of rows that remain to be connected is calculated. Then you need to calculate how many rows you need to knit two loops at the same time from one side and the other. At the end, only 8 loops should remain on the knitting needles.

When the work on reducing the loops is completed, the thread is torn off, and its edge is inserted into the needle, threaded through the remaining 8 loops and tightened. Next, sew both edges of the cap.
