How to make finger paints. DIY finger paints Homemade finger paints

Colpitis

Greetings, Dear friends! In today's article I will tell the recipe, how to make finger paints at home in 10 minutes. My children love to draw - with watercolors, gouache, felt-tip pens, crayons, pencils and finger paints. I used to buy finger paints for children in the store. But one day the children expressed a desire to paint with finger paints, which were not at home - they ended the day before. So we decided to experiment and make your own finger paints at home. It took only 10 minutes to make. The children and I were pleased with the result, so now we are preparing finger paints on our own, and completely abandoned the store ones. Moreover, the advantage of home-made finger paints is that the mother knows what is included in their composition, which is important when the child is very small and puts everything in his mouth. Read on and find out finger paint recipe for kids at home!

Recipe for finger paints for children at home (composition):

  • Flour - 2 cups
  • Water - 1.5 cups
  • Salt - 7 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil - 1.5 tablespoons
  • Food coloring (for coloring, you can use Easter egg coloring kits, gouache dissolved in water, or you can experiment by coloring with products - beet juice, turmeric, etc.)
  • Jars for paints (you can use jars that are left over from purchased finger paints, or you can use glass jars from baby food)

How to make finger paints at home in 10 minutes

  1. Pour flour into a mixing bowl, add salt and mix well. Then add water, pour in a thin stream and do not forget to mix so that lumps do not form. When mixing, you can use a mixer or blender. Then add to the mass vegetable oil. The consistency is creamy. If it seems to you that the mass turned out to be very liquid, add flour, if it is very thick, then water.

  2. In the next step, we divide the resulting dough into several parts - as many as we should get the colors of finger paints.
  3. Now we are engaged in the most interesting thing - adding colors to our paints. You can use the dyes that come with the Easter egg coloring kit. And you can paint paints in different colors with the help of products. I recommend the second option for mothers of children who pull everything into their mouths. You can not keep track and the child will eat finger paints. If you know that you have added foods suitable for human consumption, you can be calm for the health of the baby. Finger paint colors:
    Pink color- beetroot juice
    Orange color - orange, carrot, tangerine zest
    Green color- spinach or dill. To do this, you need to steam the greens in boiling water, then strain through cheesecloth
    Lilac color - black currant
    Brown color– add chocolate, cocoa or coffee
    Yellow– turmeric
    Red color - can be obtained through the use of cherries, lingonberries, cranberries, red currants, barberries, dogwoods in the creation of finger paints
    Raspberry color - raspberry
  4. After adding the dye, mix the paints well again so that the color is evenly distributed and the finger paints are of a uniform shade. Well, now we can say that finger paints for children at home are ready. The recipe is very simple, does not take much time to make, even a child can handle it. My 5-year-old son often takes part in the process of preparing finger paints, and making them gives him a lot of pleasure. Ready-made finger paints are recommended to be stored in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks. We run out of them very quickly, because children love to draw very much, so 2 weeks is more than enough.

Why did I decide to cook

paint yourself?

Everything is simply banal.

We often draw with our daughter, but in the last 3-4 weeks, after 3 minutes of drawing, she began to eat paints. Not just taste, but eat. I could not manage to distract her from this interesting process, and I took the paints.

And I decided to make “tasty” paints with salt myself and try to distract my daughter from eating paints with an unpleasant taste.

For the manufacture of finger paints with their own hands it took me about 10-15 minutes, the recipe is quick and low-budget.

Handmade finger paints. Recipe

You will need:

    1 glass of flour;

    ½ st. tablespoons of vegetable oil;

    about 4 st. spoons of salt.

Beat all ingredients with a mixer until a homogeneous mass is obtained, thick cream consistency. Choose the ratio of water and flour empirically, I added about ¾ cup of water.

I poured the finished mass in baby puree jars(80 g.) and added to each food colorings.

I used these:

True, they were not very bright, so I added two bags of the same color.

Here is the result:

The paints turned out a little watery, BUT it did drawing process more fascinating for daughter.

Anyutka dipped her whole hand into the paint, and watched how it dripped from her fingers. I drew on myself and on paper, and on the floor. Surprisingly, Anyutka never tasted them!

We drew long enough for a child aged 1.2 months - about 20 minutes.

And we got it for the first time real art picture: "Lilies in the meadow."

Lilies are footprints (thanks to Resourceful Parents for the idea with legs), and I drew the stems and grass myself. Drawing on paper turns out to be a little voluminous, embossed and original.

We had a lot of fun with the process!

Look for something to do with a little fidget. Give him baby finger paints. They are very captivating crumbs. The creative process is interesting for all children. Parents can not worry, because the composition of each jar is absolutely safe. If you doubt this, make your own finger paints.

The benefits of creativity

From early childhood, you need to accustom the child to artistic skills. It improves fantasy, promotes rapidity and, as a result, stimulates the appearance of speech. You can use traditional materials that were used many decades ago. Children love plasticine, pencils, felt-tip pens, crayons, watercolor, gouache. Now finger paints are becoming more and more popular. They draw at home, in the kindergarten, in art studios and schools early development. And the most interesting thing is that you can make finger paints with your own hands at home. The child will also be interested in participating in this process. And drawing with what is also made on your own will be much more pleasant. Each such experience of the baby can turn into a postcard for grandma or a beautiful color

Advantages of finger paints

Kids and their parents like this entertainment very much due to the following advantages:

  • you do not need to be able to draw with a brush;
  • you can touch the contents of the jars;
  • can be applied to various surfaces(paper, cardboard, glass, bathroom walls and even the body);
  • paints are easily washed off the skin and washed off the clothes;
  • paints are safe for health, even if the baby wants to taste the contents of the jar.

From what age to use?

Considering that do-it-yourself finger paints for babies are absolutely safe, you can start working with children from the age of three months.

A product bought in a store is usually recommended for use by children over 12 months old. If the label indicates an age of three years, you should not buy them for children. younger age. The most important thing is that you can start practicing with them when the child does not yet hold a pencil or brush firmly in his hands. First, give the baby one color, then two, and so gradually increase the amount.

Range

Finger paints are quick and easy to make at home. However, purchased analogues have several advantages. Ready-made kits are often completed with stamps located on the lid of the jar. Children love to use these tools. With their help, you can easily make a sun, a cloud, a heart, a curl, a circle. In some boxes there are containers with stamps in the form of Smeshariki.

In addition, when making your own finger paints, you will be limited in color scheme the shades you can find.

Ready-made kits are available for sale, consisting of basic tones: red, yellow, blue, as well as many shades. The volume of jars is also different: 25, 40 or 80 ml. Paints are sold both in two or three containers, and in large sets. However, if you have the time and desire, you can make your own finger paints. Most importantly, it will cost you less, and your baby can also be involved in the manufacturing process.

Making at home

If you want to learn how to make finger paints, check out the recipes and tips. You will see that it is quite simple and does not take much time. In their manufacture, those ingredients are used that can be found in the kitchen of every housewife. No special equipment is required either. So, you need a blender to create a homogeneous consistency, but you can also use a mixer or a whisk. In addition, you will need on which the shade of paints will depend. They can be taken from Easter kits for making colored patterns on the surface of eggs. Sachets with dyes are also sold separately in the department with seasonings, gelatin and other means for baking and cooking. All ingredients are mixed. Color is added last. The shade will depend on its quantity: the more you pour, the brighter the tone will become.

Advantages and disadvantages of homemade paints

Do-it-yourself has both pros and cons. TO positive moments include the following:

  • ease of manufacture;
  • lower cost in comparison with ready-made analogues;
  • you can make any quantity;
  • the child is interested in the process of creating paints;
  • knowing the composition of the paints, you will be absolutely sure of the safety of the child.

But there are also several disadvantages:

  • it is not always possible to buy food coloring of the desired color;
  • you will need ready-made containers with lids (cuvettes from used paints, jars of mashed potatoes);
  • containers are recommended to be stored in the refrigerator for two weeks.

In addition, special food bitterness is added to store paints. If the child tastes this composition, he will immediately lose the desire to take it in his mouth again. So, you can teach your baby not to lick the paint. At home, such properties of the composition can be obtained only by adding, for example, ground pepper.

DIY finger paints in 10 minutes

There are different manufacturing options that use ordinary food products: flour, salt, sugar, starch. The sequence of steps in all cases is approximately the same. If you can’t immediately decide what to make finger paints from, you can try different recipes and choose the one you like. You need to lay out the resulting composition in jars, to which there are lids. If the mass is made for one-time use, then open containers are sufficient.

Recipe 1

The method is based on the use of flour. The ingredients will be required in the following proportions:

  • flour - 1 cup;
  • vegetable oil - 1 tsp;
  • salt - 1 tbsp;
  • water - half a glass;
  • food colorings.

The second option differs in the quantitative ratio of the components:

  • flour - 2 cups;
  • vegetable oil - 1.5 tablespoons;
  • salt - 7 tablespoons;
  • water - 1.5 cups;
  • food colorings.

As a pigment, you can use not only ready-made powder from a bag. Zelenka, beet or carrot juice, turmeric and other natural dyes are also suitable.

Flour, salt, oil are mixed until smooth. Water gradually pours in. The consistency should be similar to sour cream. If the mass is too liquid, add flour. To, on the contrary, dilute the composition - water. After the composition is distributed over the jars, a pigment is added to each.

Recipe 2

This manufacturing method is suitable for older children who will not constantly taste paints. This includes soap, so you should not eat such paints. For cooking, we need the following ingredients:

  • starch - 1/3 cup;
  • sugar - 2 tablespoons;
  • cold water - 2 glasses;
  • dishwashing detergents - 1/4 cup;
  • food colorings.

Mix starch and sugar in a saucepan. Add water and put on a small fire. Be sure to constantly stir the mass. Boil for about five minutes until the composition becomes gel-like and translucent. After cooling, adding It will allow you to effortlessly remove paint stains from clothes and remove from other soiled surfaces. Pour the mixture into jars, put the color and mix until smooth.

Recipe 3

DIY finger paints for kids can even be made edible, for example, based on yogurt. Pour the finished product into jars, add dye. You can start drawing. This is the simplest recipe, but the shelf life of such a composition cannot be called long. So, it's good to make similar paints for one painting session. Although they can be eaten, you should not accustom the child to this. Still, you are making a composition for drawing. Having tried once, the child will consider that the paints can be eaten. In the future, the baby may acquire the habit of licking brushes, hands, jars.

Now you know how to make finger paints from the ingredients in the kitchen. If you involve the baby in the manufacturing process, then you can have fun, not only doing artistic creativity. And drawing with home-made paints will seem even more interesting and exciting to the child.

And with pleasure we continue so far, the interest has not disappeared, but only grown stronger.

At first they created purchased ones, and recently they tried to make paints on their own (I liked doing it, so we decided to try with paints 🙂 ).

We tried several recipes, but settled on one, with which I will be happy to introduce you today.

Why do you need finger paint?

The educational and developing effects of drawing are difficult to overestimate. With the help of creativity with paints, we:

  • develop imagination and creative thinking;
  • by drawing them;
  • , mixing paints;
  • and tactile sensations (drawing with fingers);

Finger paint

But, nevertheless, it seems to me that in drawing in general and - drawing with fingers in particular, the main thing is not all these pluses of development, as it might seem at first glance. The main thing is the pleasure that the child receives from creativity!

The ability to express yourself with the help of paint, visualize your emotions, moods, experiences.

The possibility of transferring a child's impression to paper, as for me, is the main value of drawing!

Trying different methods of drawing (with a fist, palms, half-open fist, fingers), the baby learns the world and himself in this world. And what could be more interesting? 🙂

World of Successful Moms

I'm sure everyone knows about the benefits of finger paints for the development of a child. For the first time, we tried to draw with Andryusha, in deep infancy, and sometimes we draw now, according to the mood, when we want some kind of pampering and experiments.

Although, in the entire history of our "Ladoshkin and finger" creativity, I bought such paints a couple of times (I didn’t wash clothes, furniture and a child and calmed down).

share popular recipes homemade finger paints for drawing and playing in the bathroom, as well as natural food coloring recipes (which we have tried or are yet to do).

All these options for homemade finger paints, as practice has shown, differ:

- by consistency,

- in composition (some can even be eaten and painted, others are aimed at easy washing),

- and even the reaction of the child to these colored masses is completely different.

Recipe No. 1 "FINGER PAINTS FROM FLOUR (recipe from Asya Vanyakina's book "Iceberg on the Carpet")"

I found this paint base recipe in the popular book Iceberg on the Carpet or What to Play with a Child.

Such a base, combined with natural food coloring, suitable not only for finger painting, but it will also be interesting to study colors (for example, you can make natural food colors with your child and see how paints appear).

Composition:

- salt 5 tablespoons,

- vegetable oil 2 tablespoons,

- water - 1 glass (it must be added to the consistency of thick sour cream),

- food colorings

Cooking method:

1. Mix the ingredients with a mixer or just mix.

2. Put the finished mass into baby food jars or small containers.

3. Add food coloring and mix thoroughly.

Yellow - saffron, turmeric, curry.

- 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil

- 4 tbsp. l. salt

- food coloring (for example, from the Easter set)

Cooking method: mix salt, flour, water to a state of thick sour cream and add food coloring.

How to diversify the shades of colors:

- you need to do a little magic over the colors and mix them to diversify the shades (for example, to get purple, you need to mix red and blue, light green - green and yellow, etc.);

- food coloring can give pale shades, therefore, the more dye - the brighter the color turned out;

- to get the most bright color- you need to mix the base for paints with gouache, but in this version, you need to make sure that the child does not eat the paint.

Storage idea: paints for drawing, I usually pour in portions into the palette for the lesson. And our homemade paints are stored - in such small food containers, from sets for sushi and spices, in the refrigerator.

How else can you store:

In empty gouache jars;

In baby food jars;

In ice cube trays with lids

In a plastic egg carton.

According to the results, this recipe has become our favorite because:

- quick and easy to prepare

- on a budget and at no extra cost,

- all ingredients are available and always at hand,

- and a nice texture.

I can’t say that they are absolutely identical to purchased paints, but the child always smeared with great pleasure and did not find a difference. What else do you need to be creative?

Recipe number 2 "FINGER PAINTS FROM STARCH

This option is also very popular, and is found in different variations:

- with sugar,

- With salt,

- and even with dishwashing detergent(which must be added to make it easier to remove home-made paints from clothes).

Ingredients (without dishwashing detergent):

- starch 1/3 cup

- cold water 2 cups

- sugar 2 tsp

- food coloring

Cooking method:

1. Pour the ingredients into a saucepan.

2. Put on a slow fire.

3. Cook, stirring constantly (about 5 minutes). The mixture should become translucent, in consistency - like a gel.

6. Add soap chips to the mass and mix thoroughly.

7. Pour the mixture into baby food jars or small containers and add food coloring.

8. Put the paints in the refrigerator overnight to thicken them.

Recipe No. 4 "BATH PAINTS FROM SOAP CHIPS"

This is the most favorite recipe, as it is very easy to prepare and you can diversify bathing in the bath.
Plus - this is a continuous waste-free production, i.e. problem of running out of baby soap - solved. You can grate and use, not only as an ancient recipe for homemade baby powder for washing, but also for children's experiments and creativity (paints, "cloud", etc.).

Composition:

- baby soap
- food coloring or gouache (non-toxic)
- boiling water

For cooking: grater, containers, mixer.

Cooking method:

1. Baby soap grate on a fine grater.
2. Put soap shavings into the container, adding boiling water, beat the mass with a mixer or blender.

3. Divide the resulting mass into parts (according to the number of colors).
4. Stir until smooth, there may be lumps (if you add a lot of water, you get a colored foam).

For painting in the bathroom: paints can be put in a container for ice and give the artist a silicone culinary brush or sponge if he does not want to paint with his fingers. It is washed off very easily and quickly prepared.
Security: remember about safety measures and do not leave the child unattended in the bathroom.
1. Eyes. Be careful not to get soap ink in your mouth or eyes. If the paint gets into the eyes, traditionally, as with shampoo, it must be washed off with plenty of water.
2. Slippery bathtub bottom. When washing off the paint, the bottom of the bath can be slippery, it is better to lay a bath mat.

1. Mix the ingredients until smooth.

2. Mix all components until smooth.

3. Transfer to a saucepan and bring to a boil.

4. Reduce heat and cook, stirring for 20 minutes.

5. Cool the mixture.

6. Pour the mass into jars and add food coloring.

Recipe No. 6 "SHAVING FOAM FINGER PAINTS"

Security measures:

1. This option is suitable for children over 3 years old, as you need to be sure that the paint from the shaving foam does not end up in your mouth.

2. And also, it is better to use hypoallergenic shaving foam if the child's skin is prone to allergic reactions (or not to use at all).

What is the difference: a distinctive feature of such paints is that they have a very interesting texture and unusual shades are obtained.

By the way, you can use them: when drawing with shaving foam using cling film. Try it, very interesting "masterpieces" are obtained.

Composition:

- shaving foam

- watercolor, food coloring, gouache

Cooking method: Squeeze foam into containers and add paint, mix thoroughly.

FINGER PAINTS FOR THE LITTLE KIDS

For the little ones, of course, only edible options are suitable.

They all look more like a children's lunch, and I observed the results of such "creativity" during the first feeding period, when all puree-like dishes were smeared on baby chair, plates and mom)))!

PAINTS FROM NATURAL PUREE

It is worth remembering that there is the most colorful of edible products! Natural dyes are obtained from vegetables, fruits and berries, which can also be used for drawing.

YOGHURT PAINTS edible colors will be obtained from ordinary natural yoghurts, in combination with natural food colors from berries and vegetables.
