Convex elastic band knitting pattern. Various types of gum knitting. Description and diagrams. Wrong zigzag

Diseases

Rib patterns are combinations of knit and purl stitches that form vertical stripes that promote stretch. In the elastic band, the front loops form convex lines, and the wrong ones are concave. Products made with an elastic band are designed for a tight fit, special attention should be paid to the choice of yarn. Wool produces a springy, stretchy rib, while cotton rib will be flat and even. A tight sweater made from the wrong yarn will not fit well.

Ribbons are knitted with knitting needles one, two or three sizes smaller than for the pattern of the main fabric. Interesting patterns can be obtained by combining simple elastic bands with braids, openwork and criss-cross loops. Measuring the length of a product made with elastic can be difficult, as they will vary depending on whether the product is stretched in width or compressed. As a result, unless the instructions say otherwise, the best solution is to measure half-stretched elastic bands.

Simple gum. A feature of the elastic band is the alternation of front and back loops, they are knitted one above the other, and in accordance with the pattern. Description of knitting: Dial an even number of loops, knit (k1, p1) to the end of the row. The second row is knitted like the first. If an odd number of stitches are cast on, knit the first stitch, then (purl 1, knit 1) to the end of the row. On the next row, purl the first stitch, then repeat (K1, P1) to the end of the row.

Double rubber. A very elastic canvas with clear convex and concave lines is obtained by repeating the following rapport: 2 faces., 2 out. For this gum, the number of loops is a multiple of four, in each row the rapport (2 persons., 2 out.) is repeated throughout the entire series. For balance, at the end of each row, knit a multiple of four stitches, plus two stitches. At the beginning of the first row, perform 2 persons. loops, then (2 out., 2 persons.) repeat to the end of the row. The second row, start with 2 out. loops, then (k2, p2) repeat to the end of the row.

Different knitting options for elastic bands: Elastic band "Facial purl".

The elastic is performed by alternating the front and back loops. It is also called a single, or simple, rubber band.

Purl stitching the purl rows reduces the elasticity of the cutter, resulting in a rather attractive texture.

Elastic band with a well-defined structure, front loops in the front rows and purl loops in the wrong rows are knitted from the back wall of the loops of the previous row.

"Two facial, two purl." Also called a double elastic band or a 2 x 2 elastic band. Classic knitting pattern that looks the same on both sides.

Purl stitching the purl rows turns the 2-by-2 ribbing into a dense fabric with vertical stripes of stocking and garter stitch.

Breaking the 2-by-2 ribbing with small stockinette strips adds an interesting twist to a familiar pattern.

When the elastic is shifted (2 lines,., 2 out.) Along the knitted fabric in alternating rows, clearly defined diagonals are formed.

The diagonal elastic band panel is made with the help of decreases and increases.

Wide elastic. To make a wide elastic band, any number of loops can be dialed. IN this sample six stitches in stocking stitch alternate with two stitches in reverse stocking stitch.

Connecting a simple elastic band with small blocks allows you to create a pattern with diagonals.

Removed loops make this weak elastic band very dense and soft.

Tight knit. Knitting the front loop from the back wall of the loop in the front rows forms a small neat tubercle against the background of reverse stocking.

Elastic band for the heel of the sock. This type of elastic is used to strengthen the heel of the sock.

Dropped loops and pearl knitting. Vertical stripes in pearl knit make the slipped ribbing very strong.

Elastic band "cartridge belt". The removed loops on both sides of the work give a clear embossed outline to the knitted fabric, which has the same appearance on both sides.

Pearl gum. Another version of the double-sided knitting pattern, combined from a simple elastic band and pearl knitting.

Embossed rubber band. The loops made from the back walls of the loops of the previous row are combined with a bumpy base of faces. and out. P.

Torn pearl band. The stripes of pearl knitting, made on the stocking surface, create a light imitation of the cutter.

Although the pattern looks like a crossed elastic band, this effect is obtained by removing the loop over the addition.

Knitting alternating knits from the row immediately under the last row on the left needle is the secret to this fluffy, soft rib. Both sides look the same.

Elastic band "Brioche". This gum is similar to the English one, but it is knitted in a completely different way.

Knitting gum with knitting needles is necessarily in the top ten of all such training lessons. And rightly so, since this method is used to finish a wide range of products. Socks, sleeves, stand-up collars, the bottom and neck of pullovers or sweaters - this is not a complete list of garments where elastic is used.

But in fact, there are a huge number of variations of the "gum" pattern, many of which are so beautiful in themselves that the sweaters, hats and scarves they knit look just great.

The main feature of any "gum" pattern is its elasticity and ability to stretch well, thanks to which it got its name.

Simple gum knitting

A simple elastic band is a fabric consisting of alternating sets of knit and purl loops. As a result of knitting, continuous vertical columns are formed, convex due to facial loops and concave due to purl.

Knitting gum with knitting needles is used in cases where it is necessary to achieve the effect of fitting a figure with a fabric product: cuffs, necklines, fitted parts, etc. - all this is advisable to knit with an elastic band. Interesting patterns can be achieved by combining a simple elastic band with braids, crossed loops, lace and other patterns.

Designations for a simple elastic band

As a rule, simple elastic bands are indicated by the formula N x M, where N and M are the number of front and back loops, respectively. Most often N=M. For example, 1x1 and 2x2 rubber bands are very common.

But in fact, knitting an elastic band with knitting needles is possible using almost any combination of basic loops, the main thing is to keep the proportions that allow the fabric to be elastic, and also to harmonize with the rest of the patterns of the product.

We knit a simple elastic band

For everyone who is interested in how to knit an elastic band with knitting needles, we offer a universal technique.

  1. Select the N and M values (number of front and back loops) necessary for your product, which will form vertical columns.
  2. Calculate "rapport" - a repeating combination of loops to create a pattern using the formula R \u003d N + M.
  3. Cast on a number of stitches that is a multiple of R and add 2 more edge stitches. The circular elastic band with knitting needles does not require the input of edge loops.
  4. Knit the first row and all odd ones according to the following sequence of loops: knit N, purl M, knit N ... etc. Do not forget about the rules of edge loops for non-circular knitting.
  5. Even rows with circular knitting are similar to item 4. When knitting the fabric, it is necessary to knit the wrong ones over all the purl loops, and over the front ones, respectively, the front ones, to comply with the pattern.

double rib knitting

Such an elastic band is used in cases where it is necessary that the canvas fits as tightly as possible to the figure and keeps its shape. These can be scarves, hats, as well as product elements such as belts, necklines or cuffs.

Knitting method

Creating a double elastic band is almost as easy as knitting an elastic band with knitting needles in its simple version:

  1. Type on the spokes of the loop in a multiple of four, and add two edge loops (this is not done with circular knitting).
  2. We knit the first row (and all subsequent odd ones) to the very end, alternating between the front loop, knitted behind the front wall and re-shot not knitted, and the loop with the preliminary movement of the working thread in front of the canvas.
  3. In the second (and all even rows), when knitting the fabric, we alternate one purl loop with one untied one, leading the working thread behind the product. When circular, we alternate the re-shot loop with the front one. This is the double rubber band.

English gum

English, or pearl, is the most popular among all gum options. It has a lush relief and soft texture, thanks to which it is widely used in knitting such voluminous products as jumpers, hats, scarves, etc.

This type is poorly suited for knitting cuffs and product edges, since the fabric pattern is soft and not very elastic. The main loops and loops-nakida - these are the elements with which the English gum is knitted with knitting needles. The process is described in detail below.

We knit an English gum

  • An odd number of loops and two edge loops are typed on the knitting needles.
  • We knit the first row according to a rapport of three loops: one yarn over, an untied loop with a working thread wound behind the canvas, one front loop.
  • The second row consists of a crochet, one unknitted loop and two loops knitted together with one knit.
  • In the third row, two loops are knitted together with the front one, then a yarn over goes and one loop is thrown over without knitting.

It is important to correctly close the loops of the English gum. To make the edge look neat and even, closing the loops should be done after a row knitted, according to paragraph 2, in the usual way.

English ribbing in circular knitting

With a slightly circular variant, the English gum is knitted differently with knitting needles, the knitting pattern for the 1 × 1 set has the following decoding:

  • Row 1. Facial loop, yarn over, thrown over untied loop.
  • Row 2. Yarn over, untied loop, purl loop.
  • Row 3. Two loops knitted together, then - an untied loop.

English 2×2 gum also looks very good. For its implementation, it is necessary to dial a multiple of the 4th number of loops and two edge loops. Then:

  • Row 1. We knit a row in the same way as knitting a simple elastic band - we alternate two facial and two purl. Two last loops We knit the rows with facial loops.
  • Row 2. We repeat the following rapport: yarn over, reshoot without knitting the next two loops, two facial ones. Before the last two loops of the row, we make a crochet, but we do not knit them ourselves.
  • Row 3. Knit together the yarn over and the loop following it. Then one front, yarn over, do not knit two loops. We knit the penultimate loop of the row with the front one with a crochet, the last one is also the front one.
  • Row 4. We knit according to the rapport: yarn over, we do not knit two loops, we knit the next loop with the front one together with the yarn over, then the front one again. We complete the row with two not knitted loops, in front of which we make a crochet.

Further knitting of the fabric takes place in the cycle according to the scheme indicated for rows 3 and 4.

polish gum

Polish rib, due to its loose texture, is an excellent option for knitting snoods, scarves, collars and children's things.

We hasten to reassure everyone who is interested in the Polish gum with knitting needles - the pattern of its knitting is very simple.

Instruction:

  1. Odd rows: Alternate knit 3 with purl 1.
  2. Even rows: 2 facial loops, then 1 purl and 1 facial.

With circular knitting, a scheme corresponding to paragraph 2 is applied to all rows.

french gum

This type of gum has its own special "corrugated" structure. This knitting of an elastic band with knitting needles occurs according to the same algorithm for both simple and circular knitting, and it is unusually light:

  • We collect a multiple of four loops and two edge.
  • Odd rows: Alternate two front loops with two wrong ones.
  • Even rows: Purl 1, then knit 2, then purl 1 again.

As you can see, everything is simple. Enough to start.

By winter, you have to knit a lot: here you have warm socks, mittens, and sweaters. And almost every product needs an elastic band. And, perhaps, knitting gum is just the most boring and boring part of creating a product. How can this be fixed? in a simple way- try knitting different rubber bands!

Yes, there are different ways to knit elastic. There are not two or three, and not even ten - much more. In this article, we have tried to collect large collection descriptions of all kinds of rubber bands with knitting needles - try them all!

Types of elastic bands

Knitting a simple elastic band Perhaps everyone knows, but it is with a simple one that it is worth starting. There is nothing complicated here: we alternate front and back loops in a small elastic band 1x1 or a pair of front and back loops in a 2x2 elastic band. In subsequent rows, we knit over the facial facial, over the wrong side of the wrong loops. You can play with sizes - try rubber bands 1x2, 1x3, 2x3. But these are still simple types.

English rib knitting- it's a classic. Outwardly, this is one of the most beautiful types of gum. One of the conditions is an odd number of loops.

It is knitted in this way: in even rows, knit, yarn over, remove the loop without knitting. In odd rows, yarn over is in front of the purl loop, and the purl is removed. The loop with the crochet is knitted together with the front loop. Knitting a patent gum and an English one is one and the same. English gum is sometimes called patent.

Knitting a semi-English gum differs in even rows. It is knitted like this: purl, front (yarn over + slipped loop) and so on. This look is a little simpler than the classic English gum. By analogy with the previous paragraph, knitting semi-patent elastic bands and semi-English are one and the same.

Double rib knitting- This is a very tricky option that perfectly holds its shape and base. The edge loops of the elastic band are common, but then it is stratified into two - internal and external. It knits like this: front, thread in front of the canvas, the next loop is not knitted, purl, thread behind the canvas, the loop is not knitted. This method is also called "knitting hollow gum", because there is a void inside.

Similar to English, but easier to perform and consumes less yarn.

1 row: 3 facial, purl.

2 row: 2 front (first for the back wall, second for the front), purl, front for the front wall.

Relevant for those who knit a lot for kids, and also love self-knitted scarves. Why? Because it is very light and soft gum. It resembles the English version in appearance, but it fits differently. For her, you need to dial the number of loops, a multiple of 4.

odd row- this simple gum 2x2, 2 facial, 2 purl.

Even row knit like this: purl, 2 facial, 2 purl, facial.

Knitting French Rib great for decorative items - this is one of the most beautiful types of elastic patterns. She needs a number of loops that is a multiple of 4, plus 2 edge loops.

Rapport of an odd row: 2 facial, 2 purl.

Rapport of an even row: purl, 2 facial, purl. Sometimes also called it "Swedish gum".

Also suitable for elegant products - in appearance it is very similar to French elastic. But the knitting pattern is different.

1 row: 2 purl, 2 facial.

2 row: 2 facial, 2 purl.

3 row: 2 purl, 2 facial - and first the second loop is knitted, and then the first.

4 row: 2 facial, 2 purl - first the second, then the first.

It is famous for the fact that it is very dense, windproof. Perfect option hat, right? The number of loops is a multiple of three, plus hem.

First row: purl, 2 facial.

Second row: front, nakid, two facial, which are stretched into this nakid. Sometimes you can hear the names Bulgarian or Scottish gum It's all about her too.

Knitting baby gum also suitable for especially warm clothes. For this type, the number of loops is a multiple of 4.

1 row: nakid, remove the loop, facial.

2 row: we knit the purl loops with the purl ones, and the loop with the crochet is knitted with the front one. Beautiful ornament - very dense, two-layer, warm. Ideal for baby items.

- incredibly decorative and unusual. It needs a number of loops, a multiple of 3, plus hem.

We knit 1 row: front, 2 purl.

2 row: 2 facial, purl.

3 row: front, front loop from the broach between the loops, 2 purl.

4 row: 2 facial, 2 together (purl and loop from the broach) purl.

Openwork gum- A great option for elegant things. There are quite a few types of them. We will consider one, some simple one. Here is one, for example: 2 purl, 2 facial, nakid, facial, remove the loop, facial, put the removed loop on the front, 2 purl. All rows of this simple gum are the same.

Fluffy elastic bands come out loose and thick. Yarn consumption, however, is a bit big, but it looks beautiful.

1 row: front, back.

2 row: by drawing.

3 row: front from the loop of the previous row, purl.

So, we have studied quite a few types of rubber bands. But to know exactly what they are good for, you need to try them all. This is not always convenient, so we have compiled a small guide to rubber bands.

  • If your work requires knitting elastic, choose simple types.
  • Knitting gum in the round will be needed for socks, mittens, hats. For this, a simple, English, double elastic band is suitable. Ribbon is knitted on the front side only.
  • A double-sided elastic band is needed if both sides of the product are equally important. Double-sided are simple, English, double, as well as some openwork elastic bands.

A reliable way to close an elastic band

Since we are talking about elastic bands, let's consider one more question: how to close the elastic band. Sometimes it happens that knitting turns out to be elastic, but the closing row negates all its elasticity. There is a way to maintain elasticity if you close knitting in a special elastic way. Remove the hem, yarn over (purl or front - depending on the loop). Then knit a loop according to the pattern, throw a yarn over it first, then an edge loop. There is one loop left on the needle. Yarn over again, knit a loop, throw a yarn over and an extreme loop on it. That's the way.

So, today we have done a great job: we have studied knitting gum with knitting needles in all sorts of ways. Now you know what types of knitting gum exist, where you can apply them. We hope that now needlework will become even more interesting for you - after all, all the variety of this simple and functional ornament is available to you.

The ribbing pattern is usually used for finishing the edge of the product or for knitting clothes with a fitted silhouette. Using different types elastic bands, with the help of knitting needles which are quite simple to knit, it is important to choose the right yarn. Otherwise, the cut of the product may not be as tight-fitting as it was intended.

Consider the most common elastic band patterns with a description of the knitting technique, having mastered which, it will be possible to create interesting products by combining types with each other.

We study different types of elastic bands with knitting needles: we start with a simple

This type of pattern is a combination of front and back loops. Most often, a simple elastic band is used to knit tight fitting parts of clothing, be it cuffs, neck or bottom. This pattern gives the fabric elasticity and good stretch.

Conventional designation of simple rubber bands: 1? 1, 2? 2 and 2? 1. The first number will indicate the front loops, the second - the wrong ones in rapport. Thus, a simple elastic band is knitted with any combination of loops in proportion. The knitting option is selected depending on the size of the product.

In an elastic band 1? 1 front rows are a sequence of front and back loops. In the purl, the front loop is knitted over the front, and the purl over the purl.

In type 2?2, loops are used, the number of which is a multiple of two (+ two edge loops). The even rows are a sequence of pairs of front and back loops, the odd ones are knitted similarly to the back rows in the form of an elastic band 1x1.

In the 2? 1 pattern, loops are used, the number of which is divisible by three (+ two edge loops). The first row in this case is knitted by alternating two facial and one purl loops, the second - one purl and two facial loops. The remaining rows are formed by repeating from the beginning.

Double rubber.

This type of pattern is a double-folded canvas, which is why it got the name "hollow". A double elastic band is used to knit the edges of the products, because. it is convenient to insert elastic bands and insulation into the formed cavity.

When knitting this type of pattern as part of the product, it should be remembered that twice as many loops are cast on than were used in the main fabric. It is desirable that this number be a multiple of four (+ two edge).

With non-circular knitting, forming the first row, one edge loop is removed. Then the following sequence is knitted to the end: the first front loop behind the front wall; the second is transferred to another knitting needle without knitting, while the working thread is wound up in front of the knitting needles. The last hem is knitted on the wrong side. The remaining rows, starting from the second, are knitted in the same way.

Be sure to ensure that the working thread is between the front and slipped loops. Otherwise, a hollow gum will not work.

If the elastic is knitted in a circle, in all even rows, remove an unknitted loop that corresponds to the previously knitted front one. The same loop that is removed in the previous row is knitted on the wrong side. The thread is wound behind the needles. The remaining rows are knitted by analogy with the first.

English gum.

This type of pattern is the most popular. Often used when knitting various sweaters, scarves and hats. The fabric associated with the use of the English pattern is soft and elastic, so it is not recommended to choose it for knitting the edges of the product. This pattern is knitted with the help of basic and eyelets-nakidov.

The type of English gum 1? 1 is formed as follows:

1) An odd number of loops is cast on, then the first row is knitted in sequence: yarn over and loop, which is removed not knitted; then the thread is thrown behind the canvas and the front is knitted.

2) The second row is formed from a crochet, a loop removed not knitted, and two loops that are knitted as one knit. For the third row, two loops are knitted as one, front, then a yarn over and a loop thrown over not knitted.

To close the loops, you should knit the preparatory row. To do this, you need to throw a single crochet loop not knitted onto the right knitting needle, and knit a loop with a crochet from the previous row as one. This sequence is repeated until the end of the row. Then the loops of the product are closed in the usual way.

An English elastic band of the type 2? 2 is formed from loops, the number of which is a multiple of four (+ two edge loops). The first row here will be knitted by alternating pairs of front and back loops. The extreme pair of loops of the row is knitted with facial loops.

The second row is formed from the following sequence: yarn over, two re-shot not knitted loops and two facial ones. The row ends with a crochet and the removal of the last two not knitted loops.

The third row consists of knitted together with the front loop of the nakida and the loop of the previous row, then - the front, nakida and two not knitted loops. The second loop from the end is knitted with a front crochet, the last - front.

The fourth row is knitted according to this sequence: yarn over, two not knitted loops, then a loop connected with a front crochet, one front one. The row ends with a crochet and two loops not knitted. Next, the fabric is knitted in the same way.

Schemes with detailed description other types of rubber bands are presented in the photo below.

English knitting

This pattern is knitted in four rows.

When we remove the yarn or loop from the left knitting needle to the right, the thread before work.

Type on the spokes the number of loops, a multiple of 2.

From * to * the pattern is repeated.

1st row: hem, * 1 yarn over, remove the loop as a purl, 1 person. *, edging.

2nd row: hem, * 1 out., Slip the yarn from the left knitting needle to the right, 1 out. *, edging.

3rd row: edging, * 2 pp. out. together, remove 1 p., 1 yarn over *, edge.

4th row: hem, * remove yarn, 2 out. *, edging.

5th row: edge, * 1 p. remove, 1 yarn over, 2 p. out. together *, edge.

Repeat starting from the 2nd row.

The pattern looks good on thick and medium weight yarn.

Knitting needles are selected according to the thickness of the yarn.

Knit loose.

The number of loops is a multiple of 3 + 2 edge.

Cast on 26 stitches.

1st row: edge, * 2 persons., 1 out. *, edging.

2nd row: hem, * 1 person., thrown yarn over (straight yarn over, then knit 2 knit, pull the yarn over with the left knitting needle and pull 2 knit over it), * hem.

Repeat from row 1.

In one source, this gum is called Bulgarian, only fits on 4 facial and 2 purl.

The number of loops is a multiple of 6 plus 2 hem.

1st row (front): * 4 facial, 2 purl. From * repeat to the end of the row.

2nd row: * 2 front, 2 thrown over on 2 loops. From * repeat to the end of the row.

Repeat from row 1.

The elastic is suitable for finishing hats, sweaters, as well as for knitting the main fabric of hats, sweaters, skirts, dresses.

Elastic band from crossed loops "Letka-enka"

This gum got its name from the fact that its loops in the column are uneven. This effect is obtained due to the method of knitting the purl crossed loop.

The knitting is double-sided, used when knitting cuffs, elastic, less stretchy than a regular 1x1 elastic band, knits on any number of loops. For the sample, dial an even number of loops and knit according to the scheme:

Description of work:

1st row: 1 person.skr.p., 1 out.skr.p., rep. to the end of the row; (purl knit first(!) way)

2nd row: repeat 1 row.

Conventions

Openwork gum (openwork pattern)

Finally, I found another pattern that is great for knitting scarves and stoles. Openwork, double-sided - what you need! True, strict, but nice. It does not stretch very well, so it is better to use it not as an elastic band, but as a finish. It will also look on jumpers, dresses as a background, and as a finish on products knitted with front or back stitch.

The number of loops is a multiple of 4 plus 2 hem. From * to * the pattern is repeated.

1st and subsequent rows: * K2, straight yarn over, remove knit 1 without knitting, knit 1, insert the left needle into the removed loop from left to right and pull it over the knitted front *.

The number of loops is even. Repeat from * to *.

1st and subsequent rows: edge, * 1 front, remove 1 loop from the wrong side, without knitting (thread before work) *, edge.

This elastic keeps its shape well, so it is great for stand-up collars, cuffs.

Another gum in the piggy bank for winter samples. On summer yarn, it is unlikely to be good (unless you can try thick cotton about 400 m / 100 g), but for warm clothes, it is quite possible to use it. Why it is called magnificent, I don’t know, it’s not particularly embossed, but there is something like that in it. wide

The number of loops is a multiple of 2 plus 2 edge. From * to * the pattern is repeated.

1 row: * 1 loop to remove from the wrong side without knitting together with the crochet, 1 front *.

2 row:

Repeat from row 1.

The number of loops is odd.

From * to * the rapport is repeated.

Important! Read before doing pattern! Otherwise, it will not work, you will have to suffer for a long time.

Features: facial knit the classic way, we make the yarn straight. We do not knit tightly.

Note: in fact, the second and third rows are, as it were, one row: if the hem knit “on the machine”, without noting to yourself that these are hem, then the third row is a continuation of the second, and the second is the third. Just knit in a row * 1 yarn over, remove 1, knit 2 together *, not forgetting to knit the hem.

1st row: edge, * 1 front, 1 yarn over, 1 remove *, 1 front, edge.

2nd row: hem, * 1 yarn over, 1 slip, 2 together (loop and yarn over) face *, 1 yarn over, 1 slip, hem.

3rd row: hem, * 2 front together, 1 yarn over, 1 remove *, 2 front together, hem.

We repeat the 2nd and 3rd row.

POLISH GUM (OPTION1) - CLASSIC

Set of loops - 20 (multiple of four)

  • 1 row - 2 facial, 2 purl;

  • 2 row - purl 1 *, 2 facial, 2 purl *, 1 facial.
  • 3 row - repeat the pattern from the 1st row

Polish gum (option 2) - forgotten "Leningrad".

A set of loops is a multiple of four plus 2 hem.

  • 1 row - 1 facial, 1 purl, 2 facial.
  • 2nd row - purl 1, knit 3
  • 3 row - the pattern is repeated from the 1st row.

Another thing I like about Polish gum is its versatility. It looks equally good when knitting hats, scarves and snoods, great option when knitting the inside of mittens, gloves and mitts, as a native in knitted children's models, sliders for the smallest are especially good.

The only thing I would not recommend this elastic for the cuffs and bottom of the products - the pattern is quite loose.

Pattern "French gum" - another option

Very effective knitting from front and back loops. It is very different in appearance from standard 1x1 and 2x2 elastic bands, although it fits easily. Appearance resembles "corrugation", therefore it is often used in knitting children's skirts and as a finish. The purl loops in this knitting are recommended to be knitted in the second way. If you knit purl loops in the first way, then in the next row you will have to knit two consecutive facial loops different ways: one for the front wall (upper lobule), and one for the back wall (lower lobule). The number of loops is a multiple of 4 plus 1 loop for symmetry.

Description of work: for the sample, dial the number of loops that is a multiple of 4, plus 1 for symmetry, plus 2 edge, for example, 31 p.

1 row: 2 persons.p., 2 out.p., at the end of the row 1 persons.p.;

2 row: 2 out.p., 2 persons.p., at the end of the row 1 out. P

3 row: repeat from the 1st row.

Scheme for the pattern "French gum"

french rubber, or snake (classic)

Cast on the knitting needles a multiple of 4 stitches and add 2 more edge stitches.

1st row (front side):* 2 facial displaced loops (knit the 2nd loop with the front one behind the back wall (!), Without removing it from the left knitting needle, knit the 1st loop with the front one, then remove both loops of the previous row from the left knitting needle), 2nd purl *.

* Knit 2, purl 2 moved loops (purl the 2nd loop without removing it from the left knitting needle, purl the 1st loop, then remove both loops of the previous row from the left knitting needle) *.

3rd row: repeat from the 1st row.

This rubber unilateral. It can be knitted in any combination of front and back loops, but at the same time, it cannot be performed in a circle.
It is suitable for knitting hats, pullovers, skirts.

Canadian, or embossed rubber

To start knitting rubber bands Cast on a multiple of 3 stitches and add 2 more edge stitches.

1st row (front side):* 1 front, 2 purl *.
2nd row (wrong side):*2 facial, 1 purl*.
