Survey

In the cold season, you need to protect your (well, or not quite your) hands from frost. For those who are already familiar with purl and front loops and want to learn how to knit gloves for beginners, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with this master class. Men's gloves, obtained as a result of its successful completion, will be a good gift for a person close to you.

In these gloves free form used the simplest method of knitting thumb. The same is used when knitting mittens. This method is suitable for beginners, so if these are your first gloves, it is better to try it. It is so convenient to knit men's, children's, sports gloves. Having mastered this simple product, you can then experiment with material and decor in order to get exclusive things every time.

How to knit gloves for beginners: description

For knitting, threads 150 m / 100 g, 100% natural wool and 5 knitting needles 1.5 were used. To calculate the size of the product, you need to measure the circumference of the wrist. Then, as usual, knit the sample with a 1x1 elastic band, bring the required number of loops to such a number that it is divisible by 4 without a trace. I have men's gloves, so I scored 56 loops and distributed them on 4 knitting needles, 14 on each.

We start knitting an elastic band

After that, it is necessary to tie the cuff of the glove with a 1x1 elastic band to the desired height. I have 20 rows. To knit gloves for beginners, you need to do everything in accordance with the scheme from the very beginning, so for the first time we strictly adhere to the set order.

We knit the cuff with an elastic band 1x1

How to knit a thumb

Having finished the elastic, work should be continued with stocking knitting to the height of the base of the thumb. I have 12 rows. Now the loops for knitting the thumb must be separated. For the right hand, it is convenient to separate the loops located on the 4th knitting needle, then, when knitting the left glove, you will need to use the loops from the 1st knitting needle for the thumb. So, having knitted up to the 4th knitting needle, I removed 9 loops from it on a pin. 14-9=5 stitches, so I have 2 stitches left on the needle at the beginning of knitting and 3 at the end. Simultaneously with the removal of the loops, I scored a similar amount on the knitting needle so that total number hasn't changed. From the first time, it may not be easy to knit gloves for beginners, well, here you need to understand a little knitting arithmetic.

We remove 5 loops on a pin

After that, knitting continues to the base of the remaining fingers. I have 22 more rows. Now you can tie your thumb. To do this, we release 4 knitting needles, removing the main loops on a knitting pin and the remaining 5th knitting needle.

We release the knitting needles, fixing the loops on the pin

We attach the thread to the base of the thumb. We have 9 loops, the same number at the top. From the sides, 2 more loops are knitted, it turns out 9 + 9 + 2 + 2 = 22. These 22 stitches are evenly distributed over 3 needles, making 8, 7 and 7, respectively. Then the finger is knitted to the height to the base of the nail (it is necessary to try on). After that, the decrease in loops at the beginning of each knitting needle begins, until 1-2 loops remain on them, after which the knitting closes.

Tied thumb

Now we move on to knitting the remaining fingers. Beginning knitters should remember that the number of loops for each particular hand is selected individually, but for now, in order to knit gloves with knitting needles correctly, we adhere to this number. On the right hand, we start with the index, 56 loops need to be divided into 4 fingers, but this is done unevenly (after all, all fingers are different). We separate 16 loops on the index and dial 2 more on the side, a total of 18 loops. We evenly distribute them on three knitting needles.

We begin to knit the index finger

I try to talk in such detail about how to knit gloves with knitting needles, so that it would be easier for beginner knitters to master knitting fingers in a glove. So, then everything happens in the same way as with the thumb: it is knitted to the base of the nail, then the loops are evenly closed at the beginning of each row. The glove should be tried on more often to find out how much length you need to knit. The middle finger will be 4-5 rows higher than the index finger. Nameless - 1-2 rows lower. Accordingly, the little finger is the smallest. For knitting the middle finger, 7 loops are separated on each side, plus 2 more are typed on the sides, a total of 18 loops.

We begin to knit the middle finger of the glove

For knitting the nameless and little fingers, we have 26 loops left. We separate 7 on each side for the nameless one, gaining 2 more on the side. Here we also got 18 loops. There are only 12 loops left for the little finger, but he is the thinnest finger, so it is enough for him to cast on 2 loops on the side to get 14 loops. Yes, to knit gloves with knitting needles, you have to keep a calculator nearby ... 😉

Next, we knit the nameless and little fingers

After all the fingers are finished, you need to remove the ends of the threads. The second glove is knitted in a mirror image. In such gloves, the hand will be as warm as a mug in a beautiful and bright knitted one.

Ready-made knitting gloves

Now you know and know how to knit men's gloves with knitting needles and maybe it's too much for some simple thing, but everyone started somewhere, so I hope this master class helped beginner knitters. Subscribe to our blog, it contains a lot of useful and interesting things. And there is so much more to come...

Gloves are very necessary thing during the winter season and very comfortable. It is optimal to have several pairs of gloves in the wardrobe for different cases life: for work, for walks and insulated gloves for cold days. And if a needlewoman knows how to knit gloves, she can easily replenish her family wardrobe with a variety of knitted gloves. The training course will tell you how to knit gloves easily and quickly with knitting needles. A photo and a detailed description will help to cope with this task. And any, even the most novice craftswoman, will be able to knit gloves for herself, as well as for her husband and children.

Materials and tools for knitting gloves

To tie gloves standard size would need medium thickness yarn (75% wool and 25% polyamide, 210m/50g) and a set of stocking needles. stocking needles are available in various designs, namely: coated metal or wood (made of bamboo, rosewood or ebony). For knitting gloves, sets of long and short hosiery needles made of wood were taken. Knitting needles made of wood are convenient in that, unlike metal knitting needles, they are more firmly held in loops and do not slip out of them. In addition, wooden knitting needles are very light and are especially suitable for knitters with allergies.
For knitting gloves, knitting needles 15 cm long are used, for knitting fingers - 10 cm long, which makes it easier to knit small parts ( in the figure 1 spokes in the middle and on the left).
Gloves can also be knitted with metal knitting needles if you do not have wooden ones available.

Glove knitting technique

Gloves can be knitted in various patterns. The most common option is when the upper part of the gloves is made with an elastic band (alternately 1 front, 1 purl or alternately 2 front and 2 purl), and the rest of the front surface.

Glove knitting density:
To ensure that the size of your gloves matches the model, before knitting, you should perform a control sample. For the specified yarn, the knitting density of the sample made with the front surface is: 30 loops x 42 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

A set of loops for the initial row of gloves:
Dial the required number of loops on 2 knitting needles (56 loops for our model), then pull out one knitting needle and evenly distribute the loops on 4 knitting needles = 14 loops on the knitting needle.

How to knit a cuff for a glove:
Close the loops into a ring ( figure 2) and knit the cuff with the selected pattern of the desired length ( figure 3).
How to knit wedge thumb glove:
After the cuff, first knit 4 rows of facial loops. The first 28 sts of the row form the inner side, the last 28 sts form the outer side of the glove.
For the wedge of the right glove, mark the 2nd and 4th loops of the inside, in the next row after the 1st marked loop and before the 2nd marked loop from the broaches, knit 1 front crossed loop.
Then 3 more times in every 3rd row inc 2 sts as described above, then add in every 2nd row until the original total number of loops increases by about 1/3 (in our example = 17 loops wedge).
Work 2 more rows without increase and leave 17 loops of the wedge on the auxiliary thread or safety pin ( figure 4).
How to knit a glove thumb jumper:
Over the left loops of the wedge, dial 7 loops for the jumper ( figure 4) and on all loops, knit 1 row with facial loops.
Then tie a small wedge over the loops of the jumper: in the next row, knit the 1st loop of the jumper and the previous loop together with a slope to the left (= 1 loop, remove, as with knitting, knit the next loop with the front one and stretch the removed loop through it), last loop knit the jumpers and the next loop together with the front.
Repeat these decreases on every 2nd row until only 3 jumper stitches remain. Knit these 3 loops together in the next row (remove 1 loop, as in knitting, knit the next 2 loops together with the front one, then stretch the removed loop through the knitted one).
On the needles again the original number of loops ( figure 5). On these loops, knit about 15 more rows = 3.5 cm before the beginning of the little finger. It is recommended to try on the glove to determine the exact length to the little finger.

How to knit pinky gloves:
Transfer the last 7 sts of the inner side and the first 7 sts of the outer side to short knitting needles. Knit these loops and for a jumper between the outer and inner sides, dial 2 loops.

Loops evenly distributed on 3 short knitting needles and knit in a circle with facial loops. The length of the finished little finger is about 6 cm.
Without knitting 1 cm to the end of the little finger, for the fingertip in each row, knit the last 2 loops of each knitting needle together with the front one. Pull the remaining 6 loops with a working thread, fasten the thread on the wrong side.

Then knit the first 21 loops of the inner side, pull out 2 loops from the jumper of the little finger and knit the remaining 21 loops of the outer side. On these loops, knit 4 rows = 1 cm with front stitch ( figure 6).
How to knit ring finger gloves:
The last 6 loops of the inner side, the next 2 loops and the first 6 loops of the outer side, take on short knitting needles.

Knit these loops and for a jumper between the outer and inner sides, dial 3 loops. Distribute these 17 stitches evenly on 3 needles, then knit in the round with knit stitches ( figure 7). The length of the finished finger is about 7 cm.

How to knit the middle finger of the glove:
Take the last 7 sts on the inside and the first 7 sts on the outside on short needles. Knit the inner side loops, pull out 3 loops from the bridge of the ring finger, knit the loops of the outer side and dial 3 loops for the jumper = 20 loops.

Knit in a circle with facial loops. The length of the finished finger is about 7.5 cm.
Without knitting to the end of 1 cm, perform the tip of the finger, as described for the little finger.

How to knit the index finger of a glove:
Knit the remaining 7 sts on the inside, pull 3 sts from the bridge of the middle finger and knit the remaining 7 sts on the outside.

How to knit gloves with knitting needles, a master class for beginners

For those of you who want to learn how to knit thick simple men's or openwork women's gloves with knitting needles, this lesson is offered with a detailed description of the work. In addition to the description in the lesson, there are schemes necessary for needlework. It will be about how to knit this product classically, that is, using five knitting needles. The lesson is supplemented with relevant photo and video materials that describe in detail and show how different gloves are knitted.

Men's classic gloves

The classic technique of knitting gloves involves starting needlework from an elastic band on the wrist. The pattern for gloves is selected depending on who they are intended for. It can be a relief or jacquard pattern, which will suit almost everyone, or lace exclusively for women. It is better to start a real master class with simple garter stitch gloves, which is more suitable for beginners. More often than not, this knitting is done specifically for men's gloves. For example, we knit the left glove.

Before starting work, it is necessary to carefully take measurements from the palm of your hand, which start at the wrist. In the example, the length of the brush in a circle is nineteen centimeters. This is followed by the length to the beginning of the thumb, equal to six centimeters. The third measure is the distance to the little finger, equal to nine centimeters. The last size to the index finger. Let's start knitting gloves with a set of sixty loops (P) on two knitting needles, removing one of them after a set. We will perform the first row with an elastic band 1 * 1, and place all the loops equally on four knitting needles. Let's prepare the fifth for work. Be sure to mark the first one with a pin for orientation. Note that on numbers 1 and 2 there are P of the top of the product, and on the third and fourth Bottom part gloves. We continue needlework, closing it in a circle. Note also that in circular knitting, edge loops are completely absent.

Knitting gloves the classic way begins with an elastic band 1 * 1, the length of which each needlewoman determines at will, from two to nine centimeters. After the elastic comes the thumb, and for this loops are added. For a glove on the left hand, the wedge is placed on No. 4, and on the right hand on No. 3. You can proceed to it directly, or by completing several rows of stocking stitch. We add two loops with crochets, one of which we do before the last P of the fourth number, and the second after it. Then we perform three circles without added loops, knitting yarn over the back thread, otherwise holes will appear in the canvas. The knitting of the right glove is different, and the yarns are made on the third number, but at the very beginning. So we gradually perform an addition at the end and beginning of rows under Nos. 4 and 3, but after three or four circles. The additions of P must be done through one, 3, 5 or 7 P, that is, there must be an odd number of them. Having completed the length of the height of the wedge, that is, six centimeters according to the measure, we will finish with the addition of loops, and place them on two additional pins.

Above these P, air loops are recruited, half the number. Let's make one circle with those units that are already in the work, without changing their number. Then we will decrease the P on the fourth knitting needle, making two loops together. Reduce until it remains, as at the beginning. In our case, this is 15 pieces (pcs).
Then you need to continue knitting to the point of the little finger, and place the P again to continue working. In order to correctly place everything, we will distribute it on the 8th share, 8 pieces plus 4. There are fifteen pieces for each share. Two are added to the index, and the same two pieces are eliminated from the nameless. As a result, for the little finger we have fifteen P, the nameless will take thirteen pieces, the middle one fifteen and the index seventeen.

Between them, it is necessary to make air loops so that they become jumpers. The entire P layout is performed in the form of a graphic scheme, which subsequently must be fully observed. Now let's make a hole for the little finger. When the P ends on the second knitting needle, you need to remove 9 pieces for an additional pin, and place 7 P from the third number on the second pin. Further, four air Ps are formed on the second number, and all the last Ps are knitted on No. 3. As a result, the Ps remain on three knitting needles, and we will knit the fourth one. In this state, the work is continued for three or four circles until they reach the beginning of the thumb.
At this stage, it is necessary to start knitting the index finger. It is knitted on the first number (at the beginning), and at the end of the fourth. In this case, the number of P is seventeen units. After completing the loops of the jumper, we will get them in the amount of twenty-one, that is, 4 pieces will be added. The index finger is knitted on three needles, and therefore the P is divided into three parts. We knit nine P on the first number, we place the others on additional devices (excluding the eight extreme ones, which are dialed on two knitting needles). We divide all units with No. 1 into two parts, of which 7 go to a new one, and two remain in their place, where four air Ps must be added. Next, we knit one P with the next, as a result of which there are 7 pieces on each. Next, we knit circular rows to the end, and make decreases until there are two units everywhere.

At the end, tighten the loops well, sewing them together. After the index finger, the middle finger of fifteen Ps plus eight is performed, for a total of 23 (8 + 8 + 7). Its knitting is made in the same technique. We remove everything from the pins and place it on the knitting needles, that is, 8 pieces from the top of the glove to the first, and 7 from the bottom to number 2. Now we will dial four units from the jumper, and knit the same amount more. After that, we enter the fourth number to complete the 4 pieces that remain and add four more air ones. After that, there are twenty-three units in the work, that is, 8 + 8 and another 7. Finish the middle finger with the same technique as the index finger, after which the ring finger is knitted. Remove P from pins and place, in the amount of 7 + 7 + 3. Let's dial where the three units are located, another P. These will just be P on the jumper of the middle finger. We knit P in a circular manner, as usual. For the little finger, the P is removed from the additional knitting needles and left on two knitting needles, then four Ps are dialed from the jumper.

As a result, we have nineteen Ps in the work, which we will distribute 7 + 6 + 6. We continue to knit in the usual technique. Now it remains to knit the thumb. It is performed on two knitting needles, loops from a pin and typed from a hole. Knitting is done in a circular line. In the area of the nail, reductions are made, then the loops are sewn up and fixed. At this stage, we figured out how to knit men's gloves with knitting needles using affordable technology.

This video master class is designed specifically for beginners. To consolidate knowledge on knitting classic men's gloves, you need to carefully watch it to the end. From the video tutorial you will learn many features and details, so you can knit gloves easily and simply.

Our article will introduce you to the nuances of knitting women's, men's and children's gloves. You will also find out which patterns are most suitable for these products.

Snow, frost and cold force us to warm up as much as possible and do everything so that our body minimally feels all the delights of winter. That is why in the cold season we try not to get out of the house without a warm jacket, hat and gloves. It is about the latter in our article that we will talk about. As a rule, knitted gloves that are sold in shopping centers and markets do not differ in originality and beauty.

Most often they are made according to one pattern, changing only the color of the finished product. In view of this, if you want to have not only warm, but also beautiful gloves in your winter wardrobe, then try to knit them yourself. In this case, you will have the opportunity to choose both the color and pattern of the future new thing.

How to knit women's gloves: diagram

Scheme No. 2

  • You need to start knitting women's gloves just like any other thing, with an accurate determination of the size. If you try to adjust the parameters of the product during the manufacturing process, then in the end you may not get exactly what you planned. Therefore, if you do not want to waste your time, then take a sewing meter and take all measurements as carefully as possible.
  • First of all, we measure the circumference of the hand, and then completely straighten the palm and measure the distance to the beginning of the base of the thumb. At the next stage, we measure the height to the little finger and middle finger, and also find out the indicators of the circumference of the palm at the base of the fingers. After that, you will need to knit a small sample from the yarn with which you will make your gloves. This must be done, because this is the only way you can find out the density of knitting.
  • Having calculated what approximate number of loops is in 1 centimeter, you can multiply this data by the circumference of the palm at the base of the fingers and find out how many loops you need to dial on the knitting needles at the very beginning of your work. If the resulting number is not a whole number, then just round it up. And do not be afraid that the extra 2-3 millimeters will contribute to the fact that the finished gloves will be too big for you. Some needlewomen, in general, argue that 4-6 loops should be added to the data obtained from the very beginning, and only then proceed to knitting the elastic band of the product.
  • Therefore, if necessary, feel free to round the resulting number and get to work. Yes, and finally, I would like to say that it is best for inexperienced needlewomen to start knitting gloves from the bottom up. So it will be easier for them to figure out how to knit their fingers correctly.

How to knit men's gloves with knitting needles: video

  • In principle, men's gloves are knitted according to the same patterns as women's, except that the pattern for such products is chosen to be simpler. It can be, for example, stocking knitting. Such a pattern can also turn out to be quite cute. But for this, in the knitting process, you will need to carefully monitor that all loops are the same size. Try to knit them in such a way that they are not too loose or tight, because all this will immediately affect the visual perception of the canvas.

    Knitting pattern for men's gloves
  • In the place where you make a mistake, it will be slightly deformed. If you make such an oversight in the process of knitting your fingers, then they may turn out to be less or more than necessary. As mentioned above, it is best to start knitting men's gloves with an elastic band. In order for it to turn out to be moderately dense, knit it alternating two front and two wrong loops. Oh, and don't make the elastic too small. Ideally, its length should be at least 5 centimeters.
  • If you make it smaller, then not only will the finished product not hold well on your hand, it will also let cold air pass under the product itself and under a warm jacket. When making men's gloves, it is also extremely important to understand what your significant other will wear them with. If he needs them under formal clothes made in a classic style, then the threads for such a product must be bought thin.
  • A finished product made from such material will look quite organic even with a strict business coat. If the gloves will be worn with a down jacket or parka, then they can be made from thicker yarn and even have some kind of geometric pattern.

How to knit children's gloves with knitting needles?

  • Children's gloves, unlike products for adults, can be brighter and more interesting. In this case, it is appropriate to use the most juicy shades. Therefore, you can safely buy yarn in red, blue, green, yellow, blue, orange and purple for knitting. If you wish, you can even make a rainbow out of this detail of the children's wardrobe. Try to knit the elastic band and the bottom of the gloves in a calmer and darker one, and knit the fingers in different colors.
  • Also, do not forget to choose the right yarn for these products. Many parents, going to buy threads, most often prefer natural wool. And although this material is considered warm enough, it is not suitable for making children's clothes. Woolen threads have one unpleasant feature, their villi irritate the skin quite strongly. And since the child is in motion almost all the time, his body sweats and this further enhances the discomfort.
  • Therefore, it would be better if you choose any more for the manufacture of children's gloves. modern material. You can opt for acrylic with a little wool added. This yarn will keep warm very well, but it will not irritate the skin of your son or daughter. And, of course, do not forget that children's gloves must have a bright decor.
  • Therefore, you can try knitting an elastic band with grass with a small pile, or simply make original embroidery on the top of the product. All this, combined with bright color will turn gloves into your child's favorite thing.

How to knit gloves for a boy with knitting needles?

  • Even if you are a beginner needlewoman, you must have heard or read that children's gloves can be knitted exclusively on five knitting needles. In fact, this is not so; you can make them on two knitting needles. Moreover, this option for making a warm element of a children's wardrobe is more suitable for beginners. In this case, you will need to dial not all the loops on the knitting needles, but only half.
  • That is, first you will need to decide on the size (we told how to do this at the very beginning of the article), find out how many loops you will need to dial to start and just divide this number in half. The only thing you should consider is that there should be an odd number of loops, so if you got, for example, the number 20 when dividing, then you need to dial 21 loops. After the loops are typed, they will need to be knitted purl.
  • This is necessary in order to form a scar, which you later sew with an ordinary needle. After that, you can safely move on to the front surface or to any other pattern that you like. When you realize that the canvas is the right length, start adding loops for knitting your thumb. Having done this, remove all these loops on a pin, knit a row of wrong ones and begin to distribute the remaining loops to the rest of the fingers. Having distributed them, form the remaining four fingers.
  • When finished with them, go back to the big one, remove the loops from the pin and knit them with the same viscous as everyone else. Having untied all the fingers, begin to gradually remove the loops in front rows. Keep doing this until you have a straight row again. Next, we continue to knit in the same way as we started and do not forget that at the end you definitely need to make a row of wrong ones.

Gloves - knitting mittens

Gloves-mittens

Knitting pattern

  • Gloves-mittens will appeal to those people who lead an active lifestyle and spend almost all day on the street. This element of the winter wardrobe will help you replace both mittens and mittens. Those who wore both of them know that both of these products have their drawbacks. In mittens, the hand begins to freeze over time, as it practically does not move in them. In mitts, fingers suffer the most.
  • Since they are not protected by anything, literally after half an hour of being on the street they begin to turn blue and tingle. Therefore, if you want to avoid all these troubles, then try knitting mittens for yourself. Such a transformer product is knitted almost the same as standard models, just in this case you do not have to knit your fingers to the end. In addition, you will definitely need to make a so-called hood that will cover your fingers.
  • You also need to start knitting such a product with an elastic band, so the transforming glove will better lie on your hand. And after it is ready, knit the widest part of the product with a garter or stocking stitch. If you wish, then you can try to make some intricate pattern of English braids or any other embossed ornament. And do not forget to make sure that the hood has a small buttonhole, for which it can be carefully removed.
  • It can be made from the same yarn as the whole product or from any other material that you like, and just sew it on. This seemingly unnecessary element will help you avoid deformation of the product and prevent stretching of the loops at the base of the hood.

Knitted openwork gloves: a pattern with a pattern

Knitting pattern with description

  • Openwork gloves are most often knitted under an evening coat. Such a product is usually made from thin soft yarn of white, blue, wine, watermelon or melange color. In this case, you can do without the standard knitting of an elastic band. Since it will not be in harmony with a light and airy pattern, it can be replaced with a hosiery or garter stitch.
  • So, cast on the required number of loops on circular needles and close them in a circle. Using a pin, mark where the first loop of the row will be. So it will be easier for you to count the loops for knitting an openwork pattern. After that, knit 2-4 rows in stocking stitch, and then proceed to creating an openwork ornament. When choosing a pattern, do not forget that you are making a winter product, so you need to give preference to those patterns that will have a minimum number of holes.
  • It can be, for example, a Bulgarian cross, openwork rhombuses, flower paths or a wavy ornament. Yes, and if you want the finished product to be as warm as possible, then with an openwork pattern, knit only the back of the glove. You can quite easily continue to knit the inner one with the same stocking stitch. When making this product, do not forget that the openwork pattern stretches quite well, so if you want the gloves to sit like a glove, then you can dial a little less singing at the very beginning.
  • In the process of knitting, be sure to periodically put on a glove on your hand and see if the pattern is distributed correctly. If you notice that it warps in some place, then be sure to dissolve a few rows of canvas and redo everything.

How to knit long and short fingerless gloves with knitting needles?

  • As you probably already understood, every woman can knit beautiful gloves. If you buy yarn and knitting needles in advance, then in just a couple of days you can boast of an original new thing. In the case of fingerless gloves, great attention must be paid to the choice of threads. For such a model, thin yarn without any inclusions and pile is most preferable. If you like angora, then find threads without fleece.
  • Of course, if you wish, you can use downy material, but be prepared for the fact that the villi will begin to curl very quickly and make your gloves not very beautiful. For such a yarn, you need to choose the appropriate knitting needles. Thin threads are best knitted No. 2. So the pattern will be more even and openwork. You need to start making such a product by knitting your wrist. To make it as beautiful as possible, dial the required number of loops on the knitting needles and knit approximately 16 rows with an English rubber band.
  • The next part of the glove can be knitted with ordinary facial loops. Thus, the fabric can be knitted to the level of the thumb. As soon as you get to it, you immediately begin to make a pattern. Since you are creating a winter version of the product, it will be better if it is a dense ornament, for example, braids. When you reach the base of your fingers, start distributing the loops. After that, you just have to finish upper part and you can wear gloves.

Patterns for gloves with knitting needles: patterns

  • In principle, absolutely any pattern is suitable for knitting gloves, but still there are types that are more suitable than others for things of this kind. English gum, hosiery or garter stitch will look good on such a product. The main advantage of such patterns is their simplicity.
  • Due to the fact that they are knitted by alternating purl and facial loops, even a novice needlewoman can make such a pattern. Harnesses and braids are considered another win-win pattern. They look most harmonious on women's and children's gloves. For the manufacture of male models best to choose relief patterns, which are knitted by a simple crossing of loops.
  • But remember, if you are going to knit your first gloves, then choose simple patterns for this, for example, a simple, complex or equal elastic band, pearl or patent pattern. Since they are knitted very simply, you are unlikely to confuse anything, which means that from the very first time you will get a rather stylish and beautiful winter accessory.

Video: Knitting. Knitted gloves

Gloves are knitted in a circle on 5 knitting needles No. 2 from the “Competitive” yarn - Pekhorka in 2 threads, 150 gr. (3 pairs of gloves take 5 skeins of 100 g each.) You need to stock up on safety pins in advance for temporarily removing loops - 10 pieces.

Before knitting, you need to put your palm on a sheet of paper and circle the pen strictly perpendicularly. You can circle the left and right hands separately, but the right one is enough. What is it for? Gloves sold in stores are knitted on standard hands and often do not take into account the anatomy real people: - then the thumb is tied strictly on the side of the glove, while the muscle of the thumb in most people is attached in the middle of the palm and the finger is more likely to bend towards the palm; - then the fingers of the gloves (for the index, middle, ring and little fingers) begin at the same level, although such people are extremely rare. That is why gloves sit best on the hands when they are knitted for a particular person.

In addition to the palm drawing, several measurements still need to be taken:
1. The girth of the wrist, in this case - 19 cm;
2. The circumference of the palm, in this case - 22 cm;
3. It does not hurt to measure the thickness of the fingers (at the widest point), in our case - 8; 7.5; 7.5; 7 and 7 cm.
It is better to put all measurements on the drawing so that they are at hand. The knitting density and the required number of loops are determined along the circumference of the palm. For gloves of this size, 44 loops are typed on these knitting needles from these threads.

Description of knitting gloves

Cuff - 44 loops are typed on 4 knitting needles, fit 7 cm with an elastic band 1x1.
Palm - after the cuff, the knitting of the palm of the front stitch begins, but in the very first row I decreased 4 loops (1 on each knitting needle knitting the front with the wrong side together with the front), it turns out 40 loops. In the next row, on one of the knitting needles (you decided to knit the left or right glove first), knitting a wedge for the thumb begins. The addition is made by 2 reverse yarn overs between 9 and 10 loops in each 3rd row (see figure - thumb of the left hand, for the right hand - symmetrically between 1 and 2 loops). Referring to the pattern of the palm, we determine the height of the wedge for the thumb (on the remaining knitting needles, knitting with front stitch without additions).

Circuit Loop Symbols

Facial;
= double crochet;

Upon reaching the desired height, slip on safety pins all the loops of the wedge for the thumb, including 9 and 10 loops (for the right glove 1 and 2) for further knitting of the thumb (14 loops in total). To compensate, dial 2 air loops over the pins and continue knitting on 4 knitting needles (10 loops each) until the gap between the little finger and ring finger is reached.
According to the calculated knitting density, 16 loops are needed for one finger (in the described embodiment). 6 loops for the little finger are removed on safety pins from the knitting needle opposite the thumb, and 6 loops from the adjacent knitting needle. To fill the gap between the little finger and the ring finger, we collect 4 air loops. The distribution of the loops of the finger-knitting glove and the number of additional loops are shown in the table.

Distribution of glove loops when knitting fingers

Since the little finger is closer to the base of the palm than the index, middle and ring fingers, we knit 2 more rows with the loops available on the knitting needles 40-6-6 + 4 = 32 (referring to the pattern of the hand), for the free movement of the little finger.
After knitting two rows for three fingers, 12 loops for the index finger, and 12 loops for the ring finger (with 4 additional loops of the gap between the fingers) are removed on safety pins. For the gaps between the middle and index and middle and ring fingers, 4 more air loops are typed.

Middle finger - the resulting 16 loops are knitted on 4 knitting needles to the required length (referring to the pattern). Closing the finger is done by knitting two stitches together on each needle, the remaining 4 loops are gathered together, fastened, the thread breaks.
Forefinger - to the 12 loops removed from the safety pins, we collect 4 more loops from the same air loops the gap between the middle and index fingers. Cast on 16 stitches are distributed on 4 needles. The index finger is performed similarly to the middle finger.
Ring finger - the existing 12 loops are removed on the knitting needles, 4 more loops are dialed to them from the same air loops of the gap between the ring and middle fingers, then everything is done as for the middle finger.
Little finger - 12 loops are removed from the safety pins on the knitting needles, 4 more loops are cast on from the air loops of the gap between the little finger and the ring finger. Further - as for the rest of the fingers.
Thumb - we remove 14 loops from the safety pins on the knitting needles, we collect 6 more loops: 2 of 2 air loops made over the wedge for the thumb and 2 from the gap between the removed and air loops. We distribute the resulting 20 loops on 4 knitting needles and knit 3 rows, after which we decrease 1 time on each knitting needle (2 together front). This trick will allow the thumb to move freely. Next, from 16 loops, we knit the thumb to the desired length, we complete the finger in the same way as the rest.

The second glove is done in the same way.

The ends of the threads on each finger are crocheted to the inside and fixed.

For those of you who want to learn how to knit thick simple men's or openwork women's gloves with knitting needles, this lesson is offered from work.

Note that on numbers 1 and 2 there are P of the top of the product, and on the third and fourth the lower part of the glove. We continue needlework, closing it in a circle. Note also that in circular knitting, edge loops are completely absent.

Knitting gloves in the classic way begins with an elastic band 1 * 1, the length of which each needlewoman determines at will, from two to nine centimeters.

In the cold season, you need to take care of such a piece of clothing as gloves. Of course, it is always easier to buy them in a store or on the market. And what if you try to make your own hands. Such a product will be pleasant to wear. After all, in addition, it will warm the thought that it is the result of your work. In addition, it will be a great gift for loved ones. You can make them in different ways. The fastest and most convenient stocking needles. There is only one problem for beginners or already pros.

Having understood the principle of needlework, you can provide the whole family with this wardrobe item. In addition, knitting products is not only an opportunity to create something original and original, but also to escape from everyday problems and worries.

The fashion for gloves, as well as for do-it-yourself, originated in the 16th century in Spain. In Russia, they gained popularity in the 20th century. This garment is practical and comfortable to wear. They were especially widely used among the sports part of the population. In the 21st century, they began to decorate with embroidery, beads and other accessories. It is better to make this wardrobe item from acrylic wool. She will not sit down after washing, she does not shed. The skin in this material breathes and is provided with warmth. An excellent addition to them can be a scarf or the same color.

  1. The secret to neat clothes that fit nicely on the hand is to use fine wool for knitting gloves and knitting needles.
  2. Make gloves a centimeter narrower in width. Then they will fit, not big.
  3. Before starting work, take measurements of your hand.
  4. We measure the width just above the thumb. The height from the hand to the base of the thumb, forefinger, little finger.
  5. To calculate the number of loops, you need to multiply their number in one centimeter by the arm circumference, doubled. Or calculate the density horizontally.
  6. Gloves for a child or yourself can be knitted from the bottom up or from the top down.

glove hand measurements

It is better for beginners to learn a lesson on how to knit gloves with knitting needles from small things. Consider the example of gloves for children with five knitting needles for a hand with a girth of 13 centimeters:

Children's gloves

  1. We begin to knit gloves for four fingers, except for the first. To do this, dial 6 loops. Used: facial, purl, smooth surface.
  2. Then we distribute them in 2 pieces for 3 needles and stretch them in turn with the front surface. The number of bends will become 2 times more, since in the second row of loops you need to get more facial ones. We knit each cut according to the size. The little finger is 3.6 cm, the ring and middle 5 cm, the index 4.5 cm. Then the work is transferred to other knitting needles, and the resulting fingers are sewn up.
  3. We place our fingers on 4 tools. Two on one side, two on the other. We continue our work from the little finger. We knit the loops that go from the fingers together and work in turn with the front surface until the moment when it is necessary to make the thumb.
  4. He knits just like the rest. Height 3 cm, you need to add a couple of times through the line one loop at a time.
  5. When it is ready, attach it to the main knitting. Decrease the number of loops at the beginning and end, as well as 4 loops at the base.
  6. Next, through the strip, we prepare a loop of the thumb with the place of the palm, on the other hand with the back.
  7. Now we knit an elastic band.
  8. We do the second thing in the same way.

The hand circumference of this example is 20 cm. Let's look at a sample of a woman's glove from hand to fingers step by step.

Elastic. For you will need 52 loops that need to be spread on knitting needles. There will be 13 lines in the elastic, they can be knitted in different colors.

Base of the thumb. On the left hand we make an increase on the fourth mace at the end of the row, for the right hand at the beginning. Let's say you started knitting a women's glove for the right hand. First we make a crochet, through the loop again a sketch. Then stocking knitting. In each row, add two bends, plus double crochet, and so on alternately until the beginning of the first finger, when you knit 6 cm in height. After that, the bends are transferred to the pins. Seven pieces on one, six on the other. We connect with knitting another needle, on which you need to get six loops.

Knitting pattern for high gloves

Now decrease the knitting of the glove by knitting two loops together until one remains. Make three more strips before the beginning of the little finger. Knitting is divided into eight parts, four on each side. You should have 13 stitches. All fingers are different in width, so leave 13 for the little and middle fingers, 15 for the index, and 11 for the fourth. Begin to make each cut for the fives separately. If you started with the index needle, make 4 loops on the first knitting needle, 4 on the second, 5 on the third, and throw the other five to the next.

Starting from the nail, you need to reduce to rounding. On 1 and 3 knitting sticks at the beginning of the row, on 2 and 4 at the end. We finish until there are 6 bends left. We connect them together.

Similarly, we knit the rest of the limbs of the arm. For the middle finger, 19 loops should remain, for the ring finger 17, for the little finger 16. To knit the thumb for the glove, you need to dial five loops on two stocking needles. The last three loops are made with another knitting needle, plus loops from the edge of the thumb go to them. For the fourth knitting needle, loops are cast on from the base material. Then we knit a glove as usual. The second glove is made in the same way as the first, but remember that it will mirror image. This is how we learned how to knit gloves for women for beginners in this business.

Pay attention to the photo. Such a knitted model of mittens with your own hands in Lately very fashionable and comfortable, especially for those who drive a car.

Self-tied mittens

Fashionistas in them can not hide their beautiful manicure. Making this type of clothing for hands is as easy as shelling pears, since you do not need to bother with your fingers. Just start knitting with an elastic band, and we knit the places where the five should begin, with a column.

And how to knit gloves with knitting needles for men? The principle of knitting is the same as for women. Here is an instruction and a diagram. We collect 64 loops and scatter in an equal amount on 4 knitting needles. The first two needles will be for the top of the glove, the other two for the palm. We make an elastic band of 35 rows. With the third and fourth knitting needles we knit pigtails, which will consist of 27 loops. The rest of the work is done on the outside.

After 22 rows, slip 8 loops onto a pin to make a hole for the thumb. Make a sketch of 8 air loops. This is for the top of the finger. Knit in pattern and stockinette stitch alternately. On the 26th lane there are only external snares. They are distributed to the rest of the fingers.

To knit the second finger for the men's glove, remove 16 loops from the auxiliary knitting needle. Plus, add 4 more loops, it turns out 20. Distribute 8 on two knitting needles and 12 on the third. You need to knit around to the middle of the nail. Then you begin to decrease, knitting two loops as one. When 2 loops remain, finish knitting by tightening and cutting the thread from the inside.

For the third finger, take 8 loops from the top and bottom of the glove. Pull 4 loops from the base of the index finger, and add 3 air loops to the side of the fourth finger. Divide the loops on three knitting needles. Knit like a forefinger.

For the nameless one, take 4 loops from the base of the middle one, and from the side of the little finger, make a crochet of two air ones.

The first finger is knitted with 8 snares from the pins and add 14 from the beginning. Walk with wet ironing on the finished product.

In order to master the technique of knitting and knitting, you can watch a master class of some experienced master in this matter. Before choosing a tool, decide for what business you are purchasing it. As it turned out, for the manufacture of gloves you will need hosiery knitting needles. They come in packs of 5. The loops are scattered for 4, and the fifth is the work. They are different in width and length. Don't forget the accessory needles. They will be your helpers. To prevent the loops from blooming, throw knitting on them.

If you have never done this skill, try with small models, mittens for kids will come in handy. Carefully study the patterns of knitting gloves. Calculate how much yarn you will need. Better buy it with a margin. Suddenly this will no longer be on sale in the near future. In case of shortage, you can alternate with other threads. If you are making things for children, then knit from top to bottom so that you can dissolve and add size if possible. After all, they grow very quickly.

It should be remembered that knitted things require a careful attitude. First, there must be delicate wash Second, proper storage.

Wash things by hand or on a gentle cycle, avoiding mechanical stress. Rinse clothes well, otherwise the powder may ruin the color. Dry flat to avoid warping. When ironing, put a damp cloth and steam the product through it.

Dry it well before putting it away in the closet. Store in stacks, but not tightly packed. If they have strings, don't cut them off. Crochet or knit to the wrong side and secure. Remove the pellets with a specially designed brush.

Now you know everything about gloves, including how to knit them yourself. Additionally, we suggest watching a video on knitting other models of gloves.

How to knit long and short fingerless gloves with knitting needles?

in the arms of a girl knitted long fingerless gloves

  • The first step is to determine the length of the future product to the wrist. That is, in the short version, for example, 5 cm, and in the long version - above the elbow.
  • For long mitts, take an additional measurement of the girth of their beginning - above the elbow, elbow, below it.
  • Choose a pattern or several to work with and complete a test pattern. Determine the knitting density.
  • Draw a diagram of future fingerless gloves, mark the narrow and wide places. For them, plan to decrease the loops and expand the fabric. For example, for high mittens with a start just below the elbow, it is convenient to decrease 3-4 loops every 2 cm, continue to the wrist. Then get the loops for the palm of your hand.
  • Mark the wrist area with a short elastic band, purl row, openwork holes for decorating with a cord or ribbon.
  • A place for the thumb of a number of needlewomen is indicated by a wedge of expansion from the wrist. Others - knit a straight fabric and leave open loops for a hole in it.
  • Continue with the main pattern/s up to the knuckles or a little higher.
  • Reduce to 8 loops and switch to a tight elastic band, a garter stitch, an openwork insert to the height of the middle of the middle finger. Or distribute the loops as for knitting the fingers of a glove and knit them to a height of 2-3 cm. Cast off the loops in the usual way.
  • Return to the thumb and knit the fabric for it to a height of 1.5-3 cm.
  • Repeat all the steps for knitting the second fingerless glove.

Decorate finished products with beads, beads, stones, ready-made compositions of flowers, leaves, fur.

How to knit women's gloves with knitting needles: diagram

cute ready-made women's knitting gloves

There are probably the most female models of gloves both in magazines and on the Runet.

They are:

  • long and short
  • openwork, stockinette and with warm patterns
  • decorated with ribbons, knitted and ready-made decorative elements
  • with flared and fitted edges

The knitting pattern for women's gloves is close to the classic:

  • elasticated cuffs
  • canvas with extension to the hole of the thumb
  • reduction over it and smooth work of the other base of the little finger
  • distribution of finger loops
  • knitting each separately from the little finger to the index, vice versa or in discord
  • finishing the glove by knitting a thumb house
  • repeating actions for the second instance in mirror order

Gloves - knitting mittens

cute mittens with a heart and buttons

The combination of knitted mittens and gloves in one product has found its fans among all generations and ages.

  • Getting started is the same for both mittens and gloves. Rib the cuff and move on to the base pattern by adding an extension wedge for the thumb. Be careful in its location. For the right glove-mittens at the end of 2 knitting needles, for the left - 4.
  • Leave loops for the hole of the thumb, get half of their number. Continue decreasing circular knitting over the left loops to their original number at the start of work.
  • Having connected 3-4 cm, do the back of the mittens with the wrong side, and the inside with the front ones. It was you who marked the start of the valve for the fingers.
  • Spread the canvas to work on each finger and tie them halfway.
  • Go back to the thumb hole and knit the fabric for it.
  • Raise the loops from the wrong side under the fingers and dial the same amount on the knitting needles. Close in a circle.
  • The first - knit with front stitch, the second - with an elastic band, for example, 2x2.
  • After 2 cm, go to the same pattern in a circle.
  • Having reached the height of the upper phalanx of the middle finger, reduce the loops on the valve in a way convenient for you.
  • Pull the final 4 loops with a thread. For more rounding of the toe house, follow this step with 8 loops.
  • Knit the second mitten symmetrically.

For originality and convenience, sew on finished products by 1 button in the area of the transition of the cuff to the main fabric on the back. And tie a tourniquet to the tops of the valve, roll it into a loop and secure its free edge.

In the position of open fingers, cling the valve to the button.

Needlework on knitting needles is akin to meditation.

Knit gloves, mittens, mitts for yourself and dear people with pleasure. Let your products warm them in the cold, and delight you while knitting.

Smooth loops for you!

For the text basis, I took the description of knitting by M. V. Maximova from the magazine "ABC of knitting" (part 3).

Gloves are knitted in the round on five needles. I will show you the simplest knitting: elastic band 1x1, then stocking knitting - on the front side of the product - the front surface. When you learn how to knit simple gloves, you can already knit using a pattern and using jacquard.
I have threads for gloves
and five spokes No. 3

Take your measurements

Payment.
Be sure to knit the sample with your threads and calculate the knitting density from it.
For example, a knitting density of 1 cm is 2.53 p.
The number of loops to start work 2.53 x 19 cm (brush circumference) = 48.07 p.
The result is rounded down (48 loops). Be sure to check if the resulting number is divisible by 4.
I get 12 sts on each knitting needle. If the total number of loops is divisible by 4 with a remainder, then you need to reduce it to a multiple of four (discard the remainder).

Start knitting gloves.
On 2 knitting needles put together, cast on 48 stitches and release one of them. Then knit 1 row very tightly with 1x1 Rib, while distributing stitches on 4 needles: knit the first 12 stitches with the 1st needle, another 12 stitches with the 2nd needle, then 12 stitches with the 3rd needle, and finally the last 12 stitches knit the 4th needle th. All 48 loops are knitted and 4 knitting needles are put into work, the free 5th is working.
Attach a pin (marker) to the loops of the 1st knitting needle - it will be a guide in the work.
On the 1st and 2nd needles - the loops of the upper part of the glove, on the 3rd and 4th - the lower (palm). Knitting close in a circle, connecting the thread from the ball with the end left from the set of loops. There are no edge loops. Now knit clockwise on the outside of the circle elastic band 1x1 (2-9 cm)

Knitting a wedge for the thumb.
On the left glove, the wedge is located on the 4th needle, and on the right - on the 3rd.
They start it immediately after the elastic band or by knitting a little with the main pattern. After the elastic, I knitted 3 rows with the front surface, then proceeded to knit the wedge. Perform a wedge by adding loops.
Make the first increase (for the left glove) at the end of the 4th needle: knit all the loops except the last one, then yarn over, knit the last loop with the knit one and again yarn over - there are 2 more loops on the 4th knitting needle. (I don't yarn over - I don't like holes in gloves, I pull knit crossed between the loops of the previous row). The next 3 rows - without additions.
The first increase (for the right glove) is done at the beginning of the 3rd knitting needle: 1 yarn over, 1 knit, 1 yarn over and then all the loops of the 3rd knitting needle.
Make the second addition by not knitting 3 loops on the 4th knitting needle: before and after them you need to double crochet - on the 4th knitting needle it became 4 loops more than the initial number of loops.
Do all the following additions through 3 rows, each time not knitting an odd number of loops at the end of the 4th knitting needle: 1,3,5,7, etc.
When the height of the wedge reaches the base of the thumb (6 cm) - I got +10 loops on the 4th knitting needle, stop adding, knit the loops of the 4th knitting needle to the loops of the wedge, re-shoot the loops of the wedge on 2 pins, and cast on air loops above them . They should be half as many as are on the pins (it is better to take an even number) - I have 6 pets on the pins. and 5 pet., air scored 6 pet.

Next, knit 1 circle without changes, and in the next decrease on the 4th knitting needle: 2 together with the front along the edges of the hole. Continue dec through the row until the original number of stitches remains on the 4th needle (12)

After that, knit the glove to the little finger and distribute the loops for knitting the fingers.

Distribution of loops for four fingers.
We divide the total number of loops into 8 parts: 48 p.: 8 \u003d 6 p. For each finger, 2 parts: one for the upper half, the other for the lower half: 6p. + 6p. \u003d 12p. (If the remainder is obtained during division, then its loops are distributed equally by attaching the upper halves to the loops, if the remainder is less than 4 units, then it is added to the loops of the fingers, starting with the index one).
Then 2 more loops are attached to the loops of the index finger (12p. + 2p. = 14p.), subtracting them from the loops of the ring finger (12p. - 2p. = 10p.)
So, for the little finger - 12 loops, for the ring finger - 10 loops, for the middle finger - 12 loops, for the index finger - 14 loops.
Further, in the process of knitting, jumpers of 4 air loops are formed between the fingers. The result is applied to the scheme and knit, focusing on it. The first scheme is for my number of loops, and the second for 60 loops.
