How to make a gift card-shirt for grandfather

Postcards-shirts are very popular on the Internet! Well, they are really cool and very cute! 😉 But it always seemed to me that making such a card with a child is difficult! But it turned out that it wasn’t: Andrew, with great enthusiasm, painted the pasta himself and glued all the paper on the frame, and I measured and cut out the blanks!

I suggest you also try to make such a postcard in the form of a panel (so that you can hang it on the wall and admire it)! 😉

We will need:

• Photo frame (A5 format)
• Color double-sided paper 1 sheet
• Thick white paper 1 sheet (for example, watercolor, for sketching or from a sketchbook)
• Pasta - bows 4 pcs.
• Gouache (white, red, blue, cyan)
• Brushes (thin, thick)
• Transparent glossy varnish for decoupage (or regular clear nail polish for nails)
• PVA glue or glue gun
• A piece of craft paper (you can take it from the packaging or paper bag).

How to make a gift for grandfather:

1. Making "Bows"

We paint bows with a wide brush to get:

• red
• blue
• white
• blue(mix 2 gouache colors - blue and white)

With a thin brush, after the paint dries, you can draw dots or stripes.

Important: so that the bows do not acquire a spotted color in the spirit of “sulfur crimson speckled”, you need to give the child 1 color of paint and 1 bow! Children are very fond of mixing paints, so when I laid out all the gouache in front of Andrew, the bows looked like the works of Andy Warhol. 😉

varnish

After the paint dries, you need to cover with a glossy decoupage varnish or regular nail polish. Of course, you can leave the bows like that, but it looks much better with varnish! 🙂

Option: gouache and varnish, if desired, can be replaced with acrylic paints.

2. We draw up a congratulation

A congratulation and a birthday date can be printed in some unusual font on a computer in Word and printed on a printer (for example, here, I decided to use the "effect" of a typewriter).

I printed the date in the middle of the sheet, then cut out a long strip and folded 2 edges in the form of a scroll (as in quilling).

3. Making a shirt :)!

Important:

• For making such a shirt, double-sided colored printer paper is very suitable, it comes in pastel colors, as in this case (you can find it in stationery stores).
• If you did not find such paper, then you can use plain white paper, only then you need to choose a color background for the panel.

In order not to get confused in the process of making a shirt, just repeat after us step by step! 😉

Step 1. From colored paper, you need to cut a rectangle measuring 10 by 9 cm. Fold it in half.

Step #2

Step back 3.5 cm from the fold, mark with a pencil. You need to retreat 1.5 cm from the edge of the cut out rectangle. The mini-rectangle obtained from connecting the lines must be cut out.

Step #3

To get a “collar” at the shirt, on the sides, we cut more lines, 1 cm in size. We unfold and fold our “collar”.

Step 4

Step 5 Cut out the sleeve along the contour. Paper shirt is ready!

Step 6 And now we decorate the panel:

• We take out the glass from the photo frame (we will not need it), leaving only the back and the frame.
• We cut out the background (suitable for size) from a white sheet of paper and glue the frame on the cardboard base, put it on upper part and fix! The base is ready!
• We cut out a rectangular strip from craft paper and glue it with PVA glue (or a glue gun).
• We glue white, blue and blue bows on the strip.
• At the bottom we glue a “scroll” with the date of the holiday.
• Next, using PVA glue the shirt on the base.
• We glue a red bow and draw buttons with paint (felt-tip pen or nail polish).
• We paste congratulations at the top! Ready!
