Thrush

A wreath of leaves is an indispensable attribute of autumn photo shoots. The two most popular options are rowan and maple. We have prepared for you step by step master classes, from which you will learn how to weave such wreaths on your head with your own hands. This process requires perseverance, but is not as complicated as it might seem at first glance.

Instead of maple leaves you can use any others, and it is easy to replace rowan with viburnum or even artificial bright berries. The base for the wreath can be prepared in advance or you can use a regular hairband. However, you can do without everything at all. This autumn crafts someone uses it several times - it will not wither, but it will dry out a little. And if you plan to make a wreath for photo shoots for a long enough period, the base must be solid.

Wreath base

The first step is to decide on the base material. In this collection you will find several options: choose the most convenient.

Option number 1: from rods

To make the basis for the autumn wreath on the head, we select young branches. Suitable willow, birch, pine and other trees and shrubs, which are easy to cut thin strong rods.

We clean the branches from the bark and make them smooth. To make a beautiful wreath of leaves, you need to make the base correctly - it should not be too big or too small. Measure the girth of the head, but constantly estimate the size of the workpiece as you work.

Tighten the twig ring with twine. Then start winding the rods on this frame. Build them up gradually and constantly reinforce with jute.

Make a tight winding when you finish braiding the branches and achieve the desired thickness of the rim for the wreath. Put the workpiece under the press overnight.

Option number 2: from paper and nylon

This base for an autumn head wreath will be made of lightweight materials, but you can be sure of the strength and reliability of the design.

Earlier we already told you how to work with newspaper tubes. Here the principle is the same. Cut magazines and newspapers into strips, roll them into tight tubes. Twist them together or just glue them together. You can also make a base for a wreath using tape or even sew these strips.

To finally fasten the structure together, take nylon tights and tightly wrap them around the rim.

On such a blank, you can stick or apply leaves, berries or other accessories from which you want to make your own. autumn wreath.

Option number 3: from wire

The wire rim is good because it turns out thin. This means that you can make an autumn wreath on your head more elegant and light. This perfect option for assembling small leaves in one or two layers.

The wire must be folded in one, two or three layers and twisted together, twisting it into a bundle. Select the degree of winding depending on the thickness of the material.

Twist the ends of the wire together and hide. From above, make a winding with twine or ribbon. This is necessary so that the craft turns out smoother and does not tangle the hair.

Such a wreath can be braided with leaves on top or glued material directly onto it.

To make the wreath on the head more convenient, peculiar loops can be formed at the ends of the wire. Then we will tie ribbons there and we will tie it into a bow. You can make it a kind of decorative element: for example, add a wide red ribbon and leave its ends free.

Weaving pattern

As a rule, all wreaths on the head are woven according to the same pattern. It looks like this.

As a basis, you can take flowers, autumn leaves, grass, dried flowers, rowan branches or any decorative material.

Additionally, the gaps between two adjacent leaves can be fixed with fishing line, thread or twine. Also you can use satin ribbon to make the wreath brighter.

Maple leaf wreath

The most popular autumn version- A wreath of maple leaves. You can make it yourself quickly enough. Choose a base from those described above, or weave without it.

The first step is to collect as many maple leaves as possible. different sizes. Let them dry a bit if it's humid outside.

The thickening near the stem must be cut off from each leaflet.

We take the first sheet and bend the bottom edge so that we get a parallel line with the "stem".

With a sprig of the second sheet, carefully pierce the first one as if we were making a stitch with a needle and thread.

We bend the second sheet in the same way as we folded the first sheet before. We take the third maple leaf and repeat the procedure.

So we go through the whole circle. To finish the wreath, you must first try it on your head, and then pierce the first and second leaf with the stalk of the latter.

If desired, you can make one or two more rows.

In autumn it is so nice to stroll through the yellowed park, inhaling the spicy aroma of fallen leaves! Yellow foliage is an ideal material for crafts, especially for weaving wreaths.

Types of maple wreaths

Wreaths of autumn leaves are woven for different purposes. Mostly just for fun. After all, in the fall you want to admire this beauty for as long as possible and become a part of this miracle.

In Western countries, there is a fashion to decorate the front door with wreaths before the holidays or just like that, but in accordance with the season. A wreath of maple leaves is the best for this.

Well, who doesn’t have at least one photo in the autumn park at home? Of course, the main attribute here will be the king-wreath.

Maple leaves are used for this purpose for several reasons. They have long roots and a very beautiful leaf blade. Wreaths from them are strong and lush - really royal.

The simplest wreaths

Unfortunately, not everyone knows how to make a leaf wreath. There are several ways: from the simplest to relatively complex, but very effective.

To begin with, let's try to make beauty in the simplest way. It is necessary to take the required number of sheets with a thick and not very long leg. A small hole is made with a fingernail exactly in the middle of the sheet so that the root of the next leaflet can crawl into it. We string it on a leaf and make the same hole on it. In this way, weave the chain to the desired length. Of course, a magnificent wreath will not work, but it will take quite a bit of time to make it. In the same way, you can make garlands or ribbons for a wreath of a more magnificent texture.

The second simple method consists in the fact that several leaves overlap each other and are pierced together with tails in two rows so as not to crumble. In this way, you can make a neat crown. Now you already know two ways to weave a wreath of leaves. You can move on to more complex options.

Wreath of maple leaves based

It is easy to make a wreath of leaves if you use a base for this purpose. If it is intended to be worn on the head, then the base should be thin and light. For example, you can take a piece of wire. For a door wreath, a thick and voluminous base made of wood or foam is more suitable.

We take pre-prepared leaves one by one or in small bunches and begin to wind them to the base with threads, adhesive tape or floral tape. The latter is the most unreliable, but very beautiful. Weaving continues in a circle. When we get to the start of work, we hide the free ends of the roots under the leaves and carefully wrap them.

In this way, you can knit wreaths of any diameter. In addition, it is easiest to follow the pattern here, alternating red leaves with yellow and greenish ones. The disadvantage of this method is that the size must be selected in advance, since it will not be so easy to change it during the weaving process.

Simple ponytail twist

There is one more interesting way how to weave a wreath of leaves. It is known to us more by dandelions. It is in this way that many children make yellow flowers on their heads.

The essence of weaving is that gradually the spine of the leaf braids the previous roots. The technology is as follows: take two leaves from long ends. We hold one of them in the right hand, and with the left we put the second one in front of the work sheet and wrap it around the spine through the bottom, bringing the tip between the two plates. Then we clamp both roots in the right hand. Thus, it turns out that we crushed the maple leaf with its own tip. To weave a wreath of maple leaves, we continue to braid the same bunch in the right hand. This fixes the ends of the leaves and prevents the product from crumbling. It is better to finish weaving if the spent ends are first tied together with a thread, and then close the circle to make a finished wreath.

Pigtail weaving

We offer another interesting master class. A wreath of leaves in it is woven with a French braid. You can imagine what it looks like if you have seen braided bow garlands. As a rule, this is done with a pigtail.

Everyone can weave an ordinary braid of three strands. To make a wreath in this way, you need to add one leaf with a long stem every time you cross the bunches.

It will be difficult at first, but over time, weaving will become much more fun. To keep the wreath from falling apart and holding it more securely, you can take three long, strong threads of medium thickness as the base. They will be additional "reinforcement" for future decoration.

If you don’t know how to make a very lush wreath of leaves, try adding not one, but two or three leaves to each strand. Only in this case it is definitely impossible to do without threads. Very thick weave does not hold well and falls apart.

And one more nuance: choose leaves with long and thin roots for a wreath. Thick ones will break and crumble.

Rose wreath

A very spectacular decoration is obtained from roses made from the same leaves. But this is already a laborious activity that is not suitable for a walk, but can be great for children. In addition, such a wreath will be an excellent decoration for both the door and the queen of the autumn ball.

We start with making flowers. They will need a lot. Therefore, it is worth stocking up in advance with a large number of leaves. Take one leaf and fold it in half with the top towards the spine. We roll it into a tight tube. Next, prepare the next sheet in the same way and wrap it around the tube. We continue weaving the rose until we get a flower right size. We fix the rose at the bottom with a thread and cut off the ends under it. The smoother the cut, the easier it will be to attach the flower to the base later.

The second stage consists of gluing the base with our colors. The main thing is to plant them as close to each other as possible. To make a wreath of maple leaves beautiful, you need to take either a flat ring as a base or a very wide base that will look spectacular on your head.

How to prolong the life of a wreath?

Now we know how to weave a wreath of leaves. But there is another problem - its fragility. If the decoration is made only for a walk and a photo shoot on it, then you should not worry about this. But you want to keep decorative wreaths in their original form for as long as possible.

Of course, a maple leaf wreath is made up of dead material. Anyway, sooner or later they will wither and wither. To slow this process down a bit, try creating a humid atmosphere. Spray the wreath with water, but don't overdo it. From too much moisture, the leaves will begin to darken and rot. Try adding a little antiseptic to the water to avoid this too. With these events, you will beat off a couple of days of beauty from the inexorable laws of nature.

Wreath Holidays

And finally, a few words about how popular the wreath of maple leaves is in the world. Every autumn in the West, almost every door is decorated with this product. This makes the exterior of any estate elegant in autumn. In some cities, it's so popular that they've been hosting maple wreath festivals for decades. They hold competitions for the best product, and recognized masters show beginners how to weave a wreath of leaves.

In our country, people do not revere this object so much, but every autumn in the park you will meet a happy man with a wreath on his head. And a smile of its own appears on your face in response. It's wonderful when people know how to enjoy the pleasant little things that surround them in everyday life.

To hang a wreath, make a loop of ribbon.

royal flower

Let's make a rose from the leaves. To do this, they must be slightly damp.

When a certain number of flowers are ready, we prepare the base from a thick wire, folding it into a ring.

Now we can connect the roses in threes and start attaching these blanks to the base with a thread or thinner wire.

This is the wreath we end up with. Also use ribbons for hanging.

craft with children

Most often, we go with children to the forest or park to admire the fall of the leaves. We offer you a master class, how easy it is to make beautiful wreath by introducing the child to the creative process.

It all starts with the collection. Choose colorful leaves: red, yellow, green. different types: maple, rowan, birch, etc.

From disposable plate cut out the base, how to do it, shown below in the photo.

Now it's the turn of the child's hands and his imagination. Let the kid apply glue and place the leaves on the base in the order that his imagination tells him.

If the branches stick out, they must be cut.

If you and your child have collected not only leaves, but also various cones, then make the next wreath.

For it, you can also use the base of a disposable plate, or you can cut it out of cardboard. The leaves must be glued in several rows and in a checkerboard pattern. For convenience, you can draw several circles.

When you get to the inner circle, start gluing the rest of the decor. To begin with, let it be large acorns, and between them small cones (for example, alder).

On top, let the small acorns into the space between the large ones.

When all Additional materials will be glued or you will be satisfied with the existing result, let's start making the loop. To do this, cut out two rectangles from cardboard, and a loop from woolen thread, string or ribbon. We place it between the cardboard boxes and glue it.

Attach the loop to reverse side wreath and that's it, it's ready.

From the leaves and berries of rowan

To create it you will need:

  • leaves, it is better to take birch or similar;
  • rowan berries;
  • dried flowers to choose from;
  • thin branches;
  • cardboard;
  • newspapers;
  • twine or ribbon;
  • masking tape;
  • glue.

Cut out a circle from cardboard and cover it with several layers of newspaper using masking tape. We impose so much paper until we get the desired thickness.

With the help of the same adhesive tape, we begin to cover the surface of the base with overlapping leaves. You can also use glue.

In principle, such a wreath looks beautiful on its own, but let's continue decorating it. To do this, we distribute branches with berries, branches of dried flowers throughout the wreath.

Now put the wreath aside and cut out four hearts from cardboard.

You can make them the same size, or you can make one of the pairs a little smaller than the others, as you decide.

We glue in pairs, not forgetting to put a loop of twine (or ribbon) between them.

Now we close each side of the hearts with leaves. We cut off the excess.

We apply glue to the edges of the hearts and sprinkle these places with crumbs from twigs.

We decorate the central part with rowan berries.

We attach the hearts to the wreath, hiding the loops under the leaves.

This wreath can decorate your home. And since it is made with your own hands and labor and warmth have been invested in it, it will become a kind of amulet for your family.

  • scissors and stationery knife;
  • glue;
  • cardboard, preferably thick;
  • stapler.

From paper cut out squares with sides of 10 centimeters. We will have 10 pieces for each sheet. The number of leaves will depend on the size of the base.

Take six squares and fold them diagonally. Next, fold both corners to the fold line. We have formed corners at the bottom, we also bend them to the center. For the other three squares, we perform only the first stage of adding the right and left corners. But the tenth will serve as a cutting for the leaves.

When we prepare all the details, we begin to glue them in threes, as shown below.

Then we connect all the triplets together. We place them side by side.

We paste the tenth square on the reverse side, cut it along the edge of the sheet, but not the end. We fold this protruding part into a stalk.

Now we cut out the base from the cardboard and begin to place our leaves. We impose one on the other with an overlap with cuttings inside.

With the advent of autumn, yellow-red carpets made of fallen leaves and flowers are spread in city parks, squares and in the forest. The leaves collected in the park are an excellent material for creating various compositions, fakes and paintings that can serve as an excellent gift or become an element of decor in any room. Bright autumn leaves pair well with dry flowers, cones, dried berries and fruits, acorns, twigs and other decorative details, allowing you to make unique design decorations.
Decorative wreaths made from autumn leaves are a bright and spectacular design element that is usually placed on walls, doors, near vases and candlesticks. Such wreaths are made both from leaves of the same type and color, and from different leaves - a combined method. Wreaths look especially good, on which there are as many different elements as possible: cones, wheat ears, acorns, many small leaves and branches, and at the end red clusters of mountain ash and decorative pumpkins or apples are attached.

To create an autumn wreath of leaves on the door, you must first prepare the following materials: twigs from bushes, trees or vines, dry yellow and red leaves, viburnum clusters, dried physalis, glue gun, scissors, twine, gold threads and decorative birds for decoration. In handicraft stores, you can often find ready-made bases for creating decorative wreaths, but everyone can easily find everything they need in the nearest park without spending extra money;

After all the materials are selected, you should proceed to the creation of the wreath itself. The first step is to twist a wreath from the prepared branches. The process is quite simple: the branches are gathered in an armful and gradually tied with twine, trying to form a circle or an oval. Small sticking branches can be left, this will give the finished wreath a natural look;

When the shape of the wreath is fully formed, you can start decorating the wreath. At this stage, you should decide what the wreath will be like: with one face or two-sided. Here the process of making a one-sided wreath will be shown. We wrap the wreath several times with gold thread;

Let's start gluing the leaves: apply hot glue to the leaf and place it on a suitable branch;

We do the same with the other half of the wreath, but we already paste a little less leaves. The result should be a slightly asymmetrical wreath, as shown in the picture:

We make a small bouquet from several rowan berries and leaves and glue it on the right side of the wreath;

We connect two physalis buds together. Glue the flowers at the base of the wreath;
