For this we need: two kitchen sponges, PVA glue, a wide brush, scissors, gouache, tissue or corrugated paper, a ruler, a black felt-tip pen.

Now let's get to work.

Step 1. Take a sponge and draw a triangle on it with a ruler and felt-tip pen, the base of which will be the smaller side of the rectangular sponge. This triangle is like a piece of cake.

Step 2. Cut out the triangle with scissors. This is very difficult to do, so do not hesitate to ask an adult for help.

Step 3. Now attach the cut triangle to the second jaw, circle it with a black felt-tip pen and cut it out too. You now have two soft triangles.

Step 4. It's time to spread the fake cream and jam on the toy cake pieces. For this we will use gouache. On one triangle, paint the edges with red paint, which will act as jam, on the other - white (this will be cream). If the paint flows a little, it's not scary, it will even give our pieces a natural look.

Step 5. Apply PVA glue to the triangle with the "jam" with a wide brush and glue the second triangle to it with the "cream" down.

Step 6. Let's go to the glaze. We make it from a cigarette or corrugated paper white... We take a strip of paper, fold it into a tube, crumple it and bend it so that we get three parts. In this form, glue the paper to the edge of the back wall of our "piece" of cake.

Step 7. Our cake will also have a creamy rose. We also make it from tissue paper... We take a small strip, twist it again into a tube, crush it a little harder and twist it into a spiral. After that, we glue the part on top approximately in the middle of the triangle. Let the glue dry.

Step 8. It's time to cover the cake with white icing to make it look like the real one. For this we use white paint. It must be very thick so that the sponge cannot absorb it. We paint the top and back walls of a piece of cake. We leave our product until the paint is completely dry.

Step 9. Let's add one more detail to the decoration - a cherry. Take a small strip of red tissue or corrugated paper and roll it into a tight ball. We glue it on top of the cake. That's it. The cake is ready. It's time to feed your favorite doll.

And if you take brown paint, for example, you can make a toy chocolate cake. And you can also "cook" whole cake if you use two round bath sponges.
