First we make a master model. For this:

We sew an additional leg. In order for the fabric to become solid and give support to plasticine, we impregnate it 3-4 times with PVA glue.

We dry each layer of PVA. To speed up drying, you can put the workpiece in the oven, heated to 50-70 degrees. The oven door should be ajar so that moist air can freely escape and the workpiece dries, and does not bake.

We put the dried blank on a piece of binding, or other dense, cardboard and circle it. This will be the sole of the shoe.

We try on again, trying to imagine how the sole will be combined with the shape of the boot.

Glue a plasticine edge onto the cardboard sole

to fill the gap between the foot and the sole.

We cover the gap.

From plasticine we form a block. The shape and size of the shoe should match the shape and size of the future boot or shoe. When sculpting a block model, you need to give a small allowance for the final processing of the block.

We take a block of plasticine and cut off the plates from it.

We draw a line along the master model that divides it in half. Glue the cut plasticine plates along this line.

Having glued the model around, we cut the plates with a rectangle.

We make sides from thick cardboard. The height of the sides should be such that when casting over the model, a layer of gypsum about a centimeter thick would be obtained. At the exit point of the model from the box, we make a plasticine rim.

We strengthen them with plasticine. The result should be a box with sides made of cardboard and a bottom made of a model pasted over with plasticine. Check, for clearance, the absence of cracks. If there is, cover them with plasticine. If this is not done, the solution will leak out.

We lubricate the resulting structure with a thin layer of petroleum jelly.

Pour COLD water into a plastic container. The colder the water, the more time grasping alabaster. The volume of water is about half the volume of the solution that you want to get in the end.

Gradually pour alabaster into the water. Alabaster is a building gypsum. You can use any plaster, sculptural or medical, but alabaster is cheaper and sold at any hardware store. True, it is coarser, but in this case it is not critical. We pour alabaster while it sinks. The view from above should be similar to the photo. If you pour less, it will be liquid, if dry islands remain, they will turn into lumps when stirred. After pouring, immediately stir and pour into the form. Do not pull for a long time - the plaster sets quickly.

Pour the solution into the mold carefully, trying to pour the model first. It is necessary that the solution gets into all corners.

DO NOT pour any leftover solution down the sink or toilet! Gypsum seizes even under water. Even if you pre-diluted the solution, the gypsum will settle and seize inside the sewer pipes. If there is a lot of solution left, pour it into garbage bag. Leave the residue on the walls of the container until it sets. Then remember her. I hope you took a plastic container, as we advised? The layer of hardened gypsum will rebound.

By the way, the hardening of gypsum on the walls of the container and its bouncing off them is a good indicator that the form can be disassembled.

We disassemble the form and pull out the model from it.

In the form, with the tip of a knife, we make two indentations.

We put the model back and build a cardboard box around it.

FROM reverse side we coat the cracks by gluing the cardboard walls to the already cast half of the mold.

Lubricate with Vaseline. We breed gypsum, fill it, wait until it hardens.

We remove the cardboard walls.

Let's break down the form. ATTENTION! It is necessary to wait for the complete setting of the gypsum mortar, 30-40 minutes. If you hurry, the mold may break.

We dry the form in an ajar oven at a temperature of about 70-80 degrees. DO NOT overdo it with the temperature! At 100 degrees, water, as you know, boils and the form can be torn apart by steam. The dried form brightens and becomes much lighter. We usually leave it to dry overnight. You can, of course, dry it in the air, but it's too long.

Final stage. We make a column.

Lubricate the mold with Vaseline.

We fold the halves of the form and bandage. We dilute the gypsum mortar and pour it.

After hardening, we separate the form. Do not hurry. If you hurry, the casting will break. We are waiting for about 30-40 minutes. In order to separate the form, insert the tip of the knife into the gap between the halves of the form and turn.

Again, using a knife, we take out the casting from the second half of the mold.

On a wet casting with a knife removes irregularities. To get rid of irregularities, "shells" from air bubbles, knead the gypsum shavings and cover the irregularities with it. If the chips are dry, wet them first.

After drying the pads in the oven, bring them to the right sizes, shape and smoothness of sandpaper. The main thing is not to overdo it. It will no longer be possible to fix it.

We impregnate the pads with a primer deep penetration or diluted PVA. We leave to dry.

We start sewing by stitching the tongue and toe of the boots. To do this, take one part of the tongue and one part of the toe, put them together and sew with an overcast seam.

For further work, we take the sole, the cardboard part of the sole and the insole.


We place the cardboard part on the sole and cover it with an insole on top.

We mark with a pencil the placement of the top of the product.


We attach the upper part to the folded parts of the sole and sew it with an overcast seam, while making tucks twice on the bow of the shoes.

We sweep the back wall of the shoes on the sides and top.


With a simple pencil, we mark up in the form of dots where we will install the eyelets.


Punch small holes with a punch.


We insert eyelets into the holes.


We place the eyelets in the tongs to install them and, applying force, firmly squeeze the tongs.


We perform the same operation on the opposite side. As a result, we get such a back side of the shoes.


We sew the back wall to the sole, while the beginning should be located as if overlapping on the toe of the boot.

We fold the two parts and sew the inner contour, turn it inside out.



We sew the details of the top along the heel line. It turns out two blanks of slippers, without soles.
We apply the top to the sole. Make sure that the red details are facing inward. facing each other. We sew.
The seam that holds the upper to the sole should wrap neatly around the small rubber insole. Do not catch the rubber insole with the seam. WE REVERSE!
