Good day to all!

The most wonderful holiday is approaching - New Year. Many are preparing for it for a month. Say something too early? However, it is never too early to acquire jewelry, and even vice versa. Especially if you decide to make some decorations with your own hands, for example. What can be interesting to do. First of all, it is, of course, snowflakes. What are we making them from? From paper.

In this article we will try to make paper snowflakes, but .

It is quite easy to make snowflakes out of paper. You need paper and scissors. We take paper, fold it several times to make a triangle. Like this:

Now it remains only to cut out the patterns. Draw the desired pattern along the edges of the triangle and cut it out. After that, we unfold the paper and get a beautiful patterned snowflake.

From what pattern you draw, this will be the snowflake. There is no limit to the imagination here. You can cut, for example, such a snowflake:

Or like this one:

In addition to ordinary snowflakes, you can make a three-dimensional one. Here the production scheme is somewhat different.

If we make a snowflake of six rays, we will need six sheets of paper, if we make an eight-ray snowflake - eight, etc. On each sheet of paper, cut out a square measuring 10x10 cm or more. The larger the size of the sides of the square of the blank, the larger the snowflake itself will be, respectively. Now, at some distance from each other, draw parallel lines to make several squares inside a sheet of paper. Approximately as in the diagram.

The next step is to take scissors and make cuts along the drawn lines (red). We do not cut it out, but we only cut it so that these squares are fixed from two opposite corners.

Next, take the central square (shown by an arrow in the figure) and fold its edges into a tube, towards the center. Glue the ends. Then turn the sheet over and reverse side do the same operation with another strip. Then we turn over and fold the tube again, and so as many times as you have drawn squares.

In the same way we make all the other blanks. After that, we fasten them together and, as a result, we get a snowflake.

We cut out snowflakes from paper according to patterns that can be printed

You can cut snowflakes not only by folding paper. You can pick up special templates, print, and then cut out your craft using them.

Another fairly simple option.

And this snowflake template is a little more complicated.

If you bend a sheet of paper, but have no idea what drawing to draw, what would it turn out beautiful pattern so here are some templates.

Or, for example, like this.

This template is a bit complicated, but the result is a beautiful snowflake.

Several templates at once, some of them are simple, some are somewhat more complicated. However, patience and perseverance will help create a masterpiece. And, of course, children, how to cut snowflakes without them.

How to make voluminous paper snowflakes with your own hands step by step video master class

Volumetric snowflakes look, of course, more beautiful and more original. And if you make them big size, then they will look quite impressive.

And here, watch the video, which clearly tells about the manufacture of such a snowflake:

And also in our new article!

We make snowflakes from paper strips with our own hands

Volumetric snowflakes can be made using colored strips of paper. For example, you can do something like this:

For this we take colored paper(colors can be any, to choose from). We cut strips 29 cm long and 0.5 cm wide. We cut about 20 strips.

Now we put strips in the form of a cross, 4-5 pieces, alternating colors. We put them intertwining with each other.

First, we glue the most extreme strips with each other (they are yellow in the figure) should get something like an auto-decoupling on the map.

The remaining strips (white in the figure) are glued to the corners of the opposite yellow petals. As a result, we get a snowflake, as in the sample at the very beginning of the description.

An easy way to make 3D snowflakes step by step

Volumetric, or 3-D snowflakes look a little better than simple ones. Let's try to do this.

Take a square sheet of paper and fold it several times until you get a triangle. You need to make six such triangles. And they should all be the same. Now, on each triangle we draw parallel lines at a distance of about 1 cm. The number of such lines depends on the size of the triangle and there can be three or more of them. Now we cut through these strips from one edge to the other, but, of course, not to the very end.

We turn the triangle back into a square and fold its central part and glue it together.

We turn the square over with the other side and glue the next notched square in the same way.

Flip and repeat. And so on until we glue all the cut strips. A similar procedure is carried out with all blanks. After that, we fasten together first three figures, then the remaining three.

As a result, we get such a snowflake.

or such.

Its size depends on the paper size. This craft requires a little more time and more painstaking work compared to simple snowflakes. But the result is worth it.

The basis of silver stars can be a variety of materials: felt, paper, napkins, iron tubes, wooden sticks, etc. A real fairy-tale kingdom in the interior can be created with the help of voluminous beauties. Even children can make such paper snowflakes.

As you might guess from the name, this element came to us from Asian countries. Such original lanterns used to meet the arrival of the Chinese New Year. We have changed them a little, but this elegant decor has not lost its beauty at all.

Braid/thread embellishment

The airy element of decoration is suitable for any room. It is hung on a Christmas tree or hung around the room in the form of a garland.

Lanterns are made of colored paper or cardboard. The principle of cutting is very simple. At the beginning, the sheet is folded in half (lengthwise). Uniform cuts are made along the side of the fold, not reaching 1.5-2 cm to the edge. The finished sheet is folded into a tube, the edges are glued together. At the top, a thread or braid is passed through the holes, and then a three-dimensional flashlight is hung up.

Stripe decoration

The holiday lantern is very similar to christmas ball. It can be any size, it all depends on the length of the strip.

For one decor element, you will need 15 strips (width 1 cm). The flashlight will look better if you make it out of cardboard with a New Year's pattern.
On both sides of the strip, stepping back from the edge of 3 mm, it is necessary to make holes. To do this, the parts are stacked and fastened with a rivet. Then gradually push each of the strips in a circle, forming a ball. For hanging at the top of the flashlight, a loop is tied, and tassels of thread are attached at the bottom for decoration.

in the form of a drop

For air decor, you will need 13 identical blanks. The easiest way to make them is with .

The blanks are cut out from a sheet of colored paper, folded in half and glued to each other in a circle. A thread is threaded at the top for hanging.

By the same principle, you can make a round decor of a given shape, it all depends on the template.

Accordion flashlight
Winter decoration is made of colored paper. To begin with, the sheet is folded along the length with an accordion, and then straightened. The edges are connected and glued.
In each face, holes are made at the top and bottom with a hole punch, where the thread is then passed. At the end of the work, the workpiece is bent. holiday decoration ready.

Do-it-yourself fluffy volumetric snowflakes made of paper, in stages

Paper and cardboard are the cheapest and most affordable materials for creativity. They are always at hand and even children can make any decorations from them.

To form a magnificent ice beauty, it will come in handy:

  • a sheet of office paper;
  • glue stick;
  • scissors.

To begin with, a square is formed, which is neatly folded diagonally.

The paper triangle is folded several times until a blank is obtained, as for an ordinary snowflake.

Carefully cut the bottom corner up.

Then they proceed to the formation of side branches, due to which the decoration will become fluffy. Before reaching the central fold, at a slight angle, uniform cuts are made.

Now it's time to unwrap our snowflake.

For a larger volume, one fluffy snowflake is formed from several multi-colored blanks. They are connected together with glue. It is desirable that the blanks be of different sizes.

These fluffy models should eventually turn out.

  • scissors;
  • glue stick;
  • braid.

Ice beauties made of colored cardboard look original.
Cut out 12 paper or cardboard strips, each 15 cm long and 0.7 cm wide. Of course, their size can be scaled by making it larger or smaller.

Two strips are folded in half to determine the center for the next step.

One of the parts is placed vertically on the table, a little glue is applied in the center.

Lay another strip across the first at a right angle. If the paper has a colored and blank side, make sure the parts are on the colored side up.

Glue is applied to the surface of the horizontal strip in two places. (see photo)

Two more strips are placed vertically next to them, glued with a horizontal part.

A little glue is applied to the new strips, in the places indicated in the photo.

Two more strips are placed horizontally on top of the glue.

The photo is a close-up showing how the parts are arranged.

The base is turned over to the wrong side. Then glue is placed on the tips of the extreme horizontal strips. (see picture)

The upper right strip is folded down.

The bottom strip is glued to the top to form a petal. Repeat steps for the other four corners. At this point, the snowflake should look like this.

Then proceed to the manufacture of a similar workpiece.

One half of the star is placed on top of the other, shifting it by 45° so that the "petals" of one half overlap the lines of the stripes of the other. The "petals" of both halves should be facing each other.

Side view showing how the parts are arranged.

Glue is applied to the tip of one of the "petals".

Apply the protrusion to the "petal" and glue, as shown below. The strip should come out 1 cm above the rounding, depending on how long the strips are.

Do similar steps for all other pairs of "petals" and stripes. Side view of the snowflake in its original 3D form.

If desired, you can trim the protruding strips. This is what a 3D snowflake looks like on a Christmas tree.

A festive decoration can be hung on a ribbon or braid.

The rolled layer is placed on the tile and covered with a piece of polyethylene film. From above, a snowflake shape is applied and pressed down. The film will help create beveled edges.

Carefully remove excess clay, leaving a snowflake on the tile. Its remains can be used for other decorations.

A pattern is applied to a clay snowflake with a needle, and then rhinestones are inserted in the form of a pattern. Each will have its own ornament.

The surface is sprinkled with gloss, which is lightly rubbed into the clay.

A hook is attached at the top of the workpiece.

The snowflake is then sent to the oven and baked according to the manufacturer's instructions. After cooling, the work is degreased in soapy water. The finished decor is hung.

    You will need:

    Paper of any color (preferably not too thin);

    Scissors;

    Stapler (you can use glue or tape);

    Simple pencil;

    Ruler.

    1. Prepare 6 paper squares. The squares must be the same size. Fold each square in half diagonally.

    * If you want to make a small snowflake, then the side of each square can be 10 cm, and if large, then all 25 cm. For large snowflakes, it is better to use thick paper. For beginners, it is advisable to make the first snowflake small.

    2. Using a ruler and pencil, mark 3 parallel lines. The distance between each line should be the same. When making a large snowflake, you can make more stripes.

    * In the image, the lines are drawn with a red felt-tip pen to make it easier to see.

    3. Start cutting the paper from the edge with scissors, not reaching a little to the middle (about 3-5mm).

    4. Turn the paper back into a square, and begin to roll the first row of strips into a tube (see picture).

    * Strips can be stapled or glued together.

    5. Flip the paper over to the other side and staple the next two strips together, also securing them with a stapler, glue, or tape.

    6. Turn the snowflake over again and connect the last strips.

    7. The same process must be repeated with the remaining five paper squares.

    * In order not to stain the table with glue and paint, cover it with paper.

    1. Before you start making a snowflake, you need to come up with a shape, i.e. how it will look. At this stage, it is also worth considering which form will be strong and not stick out.

    2. When you have come up with a shape, you can start gluing. In this case, Moment glue is used, but if you don’t have it, you can try replacing it with PVA glue.

    2.1 Glue the inner circle of the snowflake first. After that, you need to leave the glue to dry and this small part of the snowflake will get stronger.

    2.2 Start gluing the next circle.

    * According to the same scheme, you can "build" several circles, but remember that the material is fragile, which means you should not get excited and make huge snowflakes.

    2.3 After gluing, leave your snowflakes for a day.

    3. Time to paint the snowflake. For this you can use acrylic paint. Maybe, the best option there will be paint in a spray can, but it is better to apply it outdoors and not indoors.

    * Do not use gouache - it will not only take longer to dry, but may also crack if applied in a thick layer.

    * If you are using acrylic paint, you should also choose a brush that can penetrate all the cracks in the pasta.

    * It is advisable to have several brushes different sizes, for convenience. If necessary, a second coat of paint can be applied.

    4. We decorate the snowflake. You can use glitter or artificial snow, for example.

    * Snowflakes do not dry out quickly, so it is better not to rush to hang them on the Christmas tree immediately after production. You can hang such snowflakes both on the Christmas tree and on the wall.

    How to make a very beautiful snowflake from buttons or rhinestones

    In stores, you can buy ready-made dense snowflakes made of cardboard or felt.

    But you can make such a snowflake yourself. Just draw your snowflake on cardboard and cut it out. You can draw each detail separately and then glue everything together.

    You can decorate these snowflakes with rhinestones or buttons of different colors and shades. You can also use small figures by gluing them to the snowflake.

    Do you also like to decorate your home and office with serpentine and snowflakes? Would you like to see these winter heralds in three dimensions? But how to make a voluminous snowflake from a flat piece of paper with your own hands? It turns out it's easy.

    Huge snowflake on the window

    This unique star snowflake shines beautifully when hung on a window, even without any artificial lighting!

    Due to the different thicknesses, transparent paper creates a beautiful pattern that attracts attention.

    You will need 16 A4 transparent sheets and some glue. Details in the video:

    Such a beauty looks impressive if assembled from paper of two or three colors.

    In order to make a volumetric snowflake with your own hands, you will need:

    • 6 squares of colored or white paper of the same size;
    • scissors;
    • Ruler and pencil;
    • stapler;
    • glue.

    Work order

    • Our volumetric snowflake will consist of 6 identical parts. We will make each of them according to a stencil prepared in advance. Draw 6 straight lines on an equilateral triangle not intersecting lines at right angles to each other and at the same distance. Leave at least 1 cm between cuts.
    • Take a square piece of colored paper, fold it in half diagonally.

    • Make 3 stencil cuts. If you decide to make a large six-pointed star for a Christmas tree according to these instructions from A11 paper sheets, you will have to make more cuts. Accordingly, rotate, connect and peck too.

    • Unfold the square and fold the corners of the small inner square together. Attach with glue or stapler.

    • Turn the sheet over to the other side. Fold the corners of the next inner square and also fasten together.

    • Turn our craft over again and repeat the steps. In this case, the first smallest folded square will be inside the third square.

    • Turn the workpiece over for the last time and fasten the corners of the largest outer square. It turned out a voluminous multilayer icicle. This is one sixth of a snowflake.

    • We make 5 more "icicles". Fasten them with three staples. Bend the tail on which the fastening bracket is located.

    • Fasten the two halves into one whole snowflake. Use a stapler and spare no staples.

    • So that the snowflake does not fall apart into components, it must be fastened with a stapler at 6 points.

    • You can tie a thread and hang a voluminous snowflake from the ceiling or attach it to the top of the Christmas tree.

    Craftsmen do not stop there, they decorate the product to their taste. Paints, sparkles, artificial snow (or just salt) are used:

    Huge snowflake quilling

    Using the quilling technique, you can also make a beautiful snowflake of impressive size. Yes, work is for the patient, not everyone can handle it. But the end result is something like this:

    This work is done from one piece of paper.

    Advice: You can quickly make a square out of a rectangle without using a ruler and a pencil. Fold the leaf, aligning the top short side with the side long side, starting the fold line from the corner of the leaf. Cut off everything that remains below the two-layer “pie”. Expand and make sure you have a square.

    Making a simple snowflake

    • Take the square and bend diagonally again.

    • Bend two more times from one corner and cut in the shape of a leaf. Make two cuts at the same distance from the edge of the "leaf".

    • Expand the workpiece. Bend the inner strips to the center and glue.

    Snowflake accordion or fan

    Prepare two identical strips of paper. Collect two accordions from them. Fold them in half across and cut out the same contours. This is difficult to do, as there are too many layers of paper. Therefore, it is more convenient to use a pre-prepared stencil. By drawing a contour along it on both sides of the accordion at once, you can cut it out without folding it in half. Contour options are shown in the photo.

    Fasten the centers of our blanks with a stapler and glue them together with PVA glue. Expand the fans and glue two more surfaces. You can hang a snowflake on a Christmas tree.

    Here's how a snowflake might look in room decor:

    Openwork snowflake from strips of paper

    Snowflake from paper strips looks easy and elegant, the shape can be different, it will be great if you come up with your own version.

    We offer to make with us a light openwork snowflake from strips with your own hands.

    Cut paper into 15 strips of the same length and width. Fold them first with a cross, and then with a snowflake, 5 pieces in a bunch at the same distance from each other. Coat the middle and let the glue dry so that our design does not shatter from the slightest draft.

    Take the diagonal edge strips and fold them as shown in the photo, fastening them with glue or metal brackets. Moreover, they must be attached to the central horizontal or vertical strip. Do the same with the second extreme diagonal stripes.

    Repeat the operation, connecting the extreme horizontal and vertical strips together and fixing them on the central diagonal (remaining in proud loneliness) strip. It turned out a wonderful airy openwork snowflake.

    This simple technique provides a lot of room for creativity.

    Consecutive steps:

    1. we prepare paper snowflakes using the usual paper cutting technique, from 4 or more identical pieces,
    2. bend all the snowflakes in half,
    3. We glue the halves of the snowflakes together.

    The principle is well shown in the video:
