How to decorate a hall with voluminous garlands

The bottom line is this: you need to make volumetric figures out of paper, which are then strung at some distance from each other on threads, fishing lines or thin ribbons... Such garlands hanging from the ceiling will greatly decorate a music or assembly hall.

Here's my example - pigeons in the clouds: I print out a diagram of a paper dove (by the way). For one garland, we need two such birds. Cut and fold along the folds, looking at the drawing in the right corner.

We will alternate pigeons with such paper clouds. I do not give a scheme - we cut out the same parts randomly from 2 sheets of A4 format, bend and fasten in the center with a stapler. In the large figure, I cut out the small detail inside. This will also be a small cloud.

Everything! It remains to assemble our voluminous garland on a string! I did this with a needle, fixing the details just with a “step back” seam so that they would not roll down.

How do you like my pigeons in the clouds? By the way, these garlands spin very beautifully from any movement of air. In the diagram, the pigeon has legs, but we do not need it to stand on the table, I just made a round at the bottom.

Cardboard letters

The writing on the backdrop of the stage is a weak point almost always and everywhere. The letters are poorly colored, the letter spacing is not observed, everything, as a rule, looks unprofessional.

If possible, it is better not to do this at all :-). But there are times when inscriptions or numbers are required. For example, the anniversary of the school.

I suggest decorating large cardboard letters small flowers from colored napkins. The work is painstaking, but the effect is quite interesting.

The napkins are the most common, small. One flower needs 2 napkins. Put them folded one on top of the other, draw a circle with a saucer, cut out. In the center we fasten it with a stapler. 3. The tip of each side must be rounded off with scissors (cut off the excess). Alternatively, you can make the edges sharp, which will slightly change the final look of the finished pompom.
4. Find the middle and tie it tightly with string, ribbon, cord, or any similar object that is available.
5. It is necessary to carefully bend all the petals of the pom-pom flower - first on one side, and then on the other. This is the most painstaking and accurate work: it is important not to break a single petal.
6. Attach tape, braid, or hanging rope.
7. It will be possible to completely fluff up and shape the pom-pom only when it is already hanging in its place.

Workshop for making balls from crepe paper

A very thin but durable material is crepe paper. It is very convenient to make pom-poms and other decorative elements from it, because it does not break from random movement, while it lends itself well to shaping. To create a pom-pom from such material, you will need the following tools:

• crepe (tissue) paper;
• wire, stapler or thread;
• ruler;
• pencil;
• scissors;
• ribbon, braid or rope (to hang the finished craft).

The work should start like this - to determine what size the pompom should be: what is the width of the sheet, the same will be the diameter of the pompom. As an example, a step-by-step instruction for crafts will be presented: crepe paper pom-poms created from 8 sheets:

1. Put 8 sheets of paper in a pile and bend them like an accordion so that the width of the strip is 2 cm.
2. Using a ruler, you need to find the middle of the workpiece and bend it in this place.
3. Tie a wire or rope very tightly in the place of the fold so that the sheets do not crumble.
4. The edges of the workpiece must be trimmed to make them pointed.
5. At the end of the work, you need to carefully straighten all the edges, you get an elegant flower with triangular edges. If you take multi-colored paper, you can get a colorful pom-pom.
