Craft progress

In our kindergarten announced a competition for crafts for the New Year. Themed craft - Snowmen. My son and I went through many different options. I really wanted not only me, but also my five-year-old son to have a hand in the craft. I managed to capture the whole process of making a snowman on a camera.

So, at our house there were a foam ball and a figure in the form of an egg (acquired for completely different purposes). A plastic transparent ball was found, once there was cotton candy in it, she didn’t throw it away, like any creative “kurkul” she put everything in the storerooms.

Our snowman, like any ordinary snowman, will consist of three main parts. In order for the foam figures to hold well, it took lower part cut with a recess inward.

Using a glue gun, I applied glue to the inside surface.

Styrofoam ball and plastic hemisphere (1/2 cotton candy ball) connected together. The hemisphere allowed the future snowman to stand confidently and not to fall in different directions.

I did the same with the styrofoam egg figure. And with the help of a glue gun and hot glue, I fixed it on top of the ball

Then we covered the table with bags so as not to stain it. And my son was given the task of painting the hemisphere and the foam pieces attached to it with white acrylic paint.

While the paint on our snowman dries, we will make a scarf, hat and mittens out of fleece.
For the scarf, the son cut off a narrow and long strip of fabric. I cut the ends of the fabric from both ends into thin strips - a fringe. I helped hold the fabric, because the material tends to stretch in different directions, it is very soft. Not every adult can handle it.

Then another rectangular piece of fleece was cut off for the snowman's hat. The height is about 10 cm, and the length is 20 cm. We folded this piece in half, and the son under mine
guide and with my help sewed the two ends together from the wrong side.

Then we turned the workpiece inside out with a seam. And in the upper part of the cap they rewound it with a thread, separating the future tassel of the cap.

They folded the edge of the hat to make it look beautiful, sewed it with the simplest stitch (the son already has experience in sewing on buttons, he copes with it on his own, and he had to experience this type of “sewing” for the first time). top just like the scarf, the son cut it into strips.

From two pieces of wire, with the help of pliers, I formed hands-palms,

and from pieces of fleece, cut out mittens.

With the help of a looped seam, I processed the edges of the mittens, sewing the wire frame inward.

For the panicle, we used a thick, rounded wooden barbecue stick. A plastic transparent tape was used as the panicle itself. Cut off from a package of chocolate. Of course, if brown is available plastic bottle, then it is better to use it, it will turn out more effectively.

The son tried to cut the plastic strip into thin strips, not reaching the edge, so that the strip could be wound on a stick.

Using a glue gun, we fix the cut strip around the stick.

For the nose, we used a waxy orange crayon. Stationery knife I gave the chalk the desired shape.

Our snowman will come with a bag of gifts, so we need a tidy bag that is the right size for the snowman. In our home arsenal was a long red bag. My son and I pulled the bag from the wrong side with an ordinary rubber band, which is used to pull banknotes in banks. After the bag was pulled over and turned inside out, we got a wonderful bag full of gifts.

We decided to decorate mittens, a scarf and a hat with sparkles, which we glued to the glue gun.

Be sure to give the snowman a broom in his hand. The wire frame allows you to create the effect of the girth of a stick, it will not be superfluous to fix it all with glue. The snowman's arms must be put in place and fixed with glue.

With the help of glue we fix the nose-carrot, the eyes of our snowman.

The base of the snowman is a cardboard cone. We fold a sheet of cardboard into a bag (as for seeds), fix the edge on an adhesive tape or a stapler). We cut the uneven edges of the bag with scissors so that it can stand evenly and straight on the table.
Cut white trash bags into squares arbitrary size. The larger the squares, the deeper the fluffiness of the snowman, and the more material will be needed. You can cut into squares (3 x 3, or 4 x 4, or 5 x 5, or 6 x 6).

We prepare glue - we heat the thermo-gun with a glue stick. We wrap the square of the film around the tip of the pencil - this is how we got a bunch with a sharp center, it is convenient to put a drop of glue on it and stick it to the base of the cone.

And we need to stick the whole cone with such bunches - pasting comes from the lower circular rows and so tier by tier we move up in a circle

Now let's make a hat for the snowman. You can make a pattern of the bottom and sidewall and fields of the hat from cardboard and assemble all these details. Can you do it easier- glue a jar of olives with pieces of cardboard.

Can be made even easier: take a jar of yogurt, glue wide cardboard hat fields to its edges and paint everything with black gouache (mixing it with liquid soap to apply well on plastic, and then sprinkle several times with hairspray to fix the color).

Cut out eyes and buttons from black cardboard and attach it to the snowman - it is best to glue the buttons not to a fluffy coating, but to the very base - to the cone. To do this, we attach a toothpick to each element with hot glue (as in the photo above) and glue such a button on a long leg to the cone, breaking through the fluffiness to the cardboard.

HOW TO MAKE A SNOWMAN

from modular origami.

All of us at school are taught to fold paper modules, and then collect pot-bellied vases from them. And since we already know how, it is quite in our power to collect POTTTIES SNOWMANS. Everything is very simple here, the children will help you fold the modules - they sat down at the table in the evening at the TV and cut several sheets of office paper into rectangles and stacked modules from them. And then the next evening, from these paper parts - like from a Lego constructor - they assembled a snowman. Big voluminous craft it turns out.

How to make a snowman

FROM PAPIER MASHE

Below we see a beautiful snowman big size. It is made from two balloons.

The essence is simple and clear - we coat pieces of newspaper with glue. From my own experience I’ll say - do it quickly not with a brush (throw away the brush) - just pour the glue in a saucer, from the saucer with your fingers we rake the glue into the palm of your hand with the same hand, take a piece of paper and right with your palm in a split second cover the piece of newspaper with glue and immediately onto the ball ... grab it we draw a new piece with a glue hand and onto the ball, and so on ...

When the whole ball is pasted over with 3-4 layers of newspaper, we leave it to dry for a day or night.

With a knife we ​​cut off the sharp part from the ball, where the tail is - we take out the rubber ball, it does not need it. And cover the hole with masking tape or other.

This cut will be the BOTTOM of the snowman. And to the top big ball we fit a smaller ball - also pre-pasted with newspaper. fasten with tape or masking tape.

We close the scotch places with patches from the same newspaper. And immediately from this newspaper we fold a tight bag of the nose, we also wrap it with a newspaper wet in glue - so that it becomes denser. And with several layers of newspaper patches we fasten the nose to the front of the snowman.

In my opinion, it is better to take the wire as a basis and fix it thoroughly. Hole through the left and right side of the snowman - so that the end of the wire comes out from the left side and from the right side. Wrap the wire with newspaper patches, form fingers-twigs. Dry covered with brown gouache, sprinkled with hairspray.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE white paint. You can cover the snowman with a layer of white paper napkins (or white toilet paper) - 2-3 layers will hide the newspaper type, and the snowman will turn white.
And also you can make the finishing layer of toilet paper in the form of fringed strips. You will get the effect as shown in the photo below.

How to make a snowman

FROM NEWSPAPER Lumps.

You can do without balloons in our craft. And just roll the sheets of the newspaper into coma. And then we glue these coma with white sheets of office paper - on PVA glue. For such work, you can buy glue not in tubes - but in a bucket, universal or building PVA (it will be cheaper in terms of money).

And before wrapping them with white paper, it is also better to fix the lumps of newspaper so that they do not unfold. For this, cling film helps, with which suitcases are wrapped at airports.

How to make a snowman

FROM BOTTLES from yogurt.

Yogurt bottles often have convex thick shapes and smooth curves - this suitable shape for the snowman. And milk bottles are made of white plastic - this is suitable color for the snowman.

In the photo below we see a snowman from a milk bottle. The hat is made of a BALLOON, the edge of the balloon is cut off and put on the neck of the bottle.

But below, a round head made of a foam ball is attached to a white bottle. Cheeks and a smile of a snowman are drawn on the ball, a nose and eyes are glued. The cap and scarf are made from a sock or a piece of woolen cloth.

But even IF YOU DON'T HAVE a styrofoam ball, you can build a snowman's head FROM A BALL OF NEWSPAPER, wrap it with cling film so that the newspaper keeps the shape of a lump. Then fix the round lump on the top of the bottle with tape. And then THIS TEMPLATE of the future snowman must be pasted over with pieces of newspaper smeared in PVA glue (as we did in the second master class) and allowed to dry.

After that, we paint over the dry silhouette of the snowman in White color(gouache or spray paint) and decorate with clothes.

Also, two low cups from your yogurt or soft cheese can turn into a funny snowman. And as we see in the master class below, it is easy and quick to do it yourself at home, along with the children.

SNOWMAN FROM THREADS

Here in the photo below we see a cute snowman made of thread balls. Perhaps you have already seen such crafts before at children's exhibitions, like the work of other parents. And they admired the openwork beauty of such transparent gentle snowmen.

How to make a snowman

from FOAM BALLS.

And now one of the fastest ways to make a snowman with your own hands. We come to the "Everything for Creativity" store and buy foam balls there (two sizes are better - one is larger, the other is smaller in diameter). You can buy 2 balls, you can buy three ... or you can buy more. Look at the money - they are not expensive, the price does not bite.

Next, your task is simple - we cut the balls (cut off the tops) and collect them with these flat cuts together. It is better to fasten not only with glue, but also make a FASTENING ROD from an ordinary toothpick inside. After fastening the parts, it is better to tint the balls with paint. plaster putty or varnish or paper napkins and PVA glue. Choose any coating for your crafts - in any case, it will come out beautifully and gently.

Some coat the snowman with glue and sprinkle with salt - grains of salt imitate snow (as in the photo below). Someone coats it with glue and covers it with thin pieces of cotton wool - the snowman turns out to be felt, like a felt boot.

You can make very beautiful - from pine cone pull the scales and glue the lower part of the snowman with them - dress him in a cone caftan. And to make a hat from birch bark from birch - you get a snowman with your own hands, as in the photo below.

You can assemble snowman parts NOT VERTICALLY, but at different angles of inclination. We cut off the tops from the balls at an angle to each other and stick the toothpicks also at an angle - and the figures are curvy due to this. A snowman can be placed ON A STATION - on a skewer, or on two long legs (as in the photo below). To thicken the legs, you can glue it with a napkin on PVA glue, achieving the desired thickness and proportions.

To make such a snowman with our own hands, we need two balls, whose diameter differs slightly from each other. One is slightly smaller than the other.
From each ball we cut off A LESS THAN HALF. And these truncated balls are folded to each other in places of the cut.

From formiam or felt we cut out the details of the snowman's outfit. And we attach these details to the body of the snowman with glue from a hot gun.

We paint a scarf and a snowman's hat with patterns (felt-tip pen or paints).

How to build a snowman

from GLASSES.

If you do not spare glue and buy 2-3 pipes with cups of 100 pieces each, then you can make a beautiful snowman. Of course, you can save these cups by taking them out of the wastebasket next to the office cooler (if the suppliers order white cups, then they will do for a snowman).

This snowman craft is very simple. All you do is stack the cups in a circle - like in a round dance, with the bottoms towards the center. We fix everything on a drop of hot glue (you can use squares of double-sided tape, it also holds well). And then we still put cups on top of this round dance ... and again - until the dome grows (it will be half of the sphere). Next, we turn the sphere upside down with the first round dance and continue to build up the second half of this sphere on it.

By the same principle, snowmen are made from drink bottles. The cut quarters of the bottom of the bottle are exactly the same in a circle - cut to the center, and bottoms out.

How to make a newspaper tourniquet.

If you expand a large newspaper sheet, and start twisting it diagonally into a tube, you get a strong and flexible tourniquet from a newspaper. From such newspaper thin tubes you can weave a snowman, like people weave baskets.

Let's see how easy it really is to do. Here is a newspaper, here we turn ON A PENCIL, so that it is convenient, a narrow tube.

To prevent the tubes from unfolding, you can fix them with a drop of glue. And make a lot of natky tubes in advance, put them in bundles, pulling them with an elastic band or string.

The beginning of weaving is 8 tubes. We put them CROSS ON THE CROSS in four pieces. And these four by four tubes WE BRING IN PAIRS - slip each under the other, as can be clearly seen in the photo below.

Immediately after these four tubes, we TWIST the ends of this bent tube ONCE WITH EACH OTHER (we just swapped them) and threw them through the next portion of four tubes. This can be seen in the second photo below.

Repeat this WITH ALL of the quads in our cross.

And we notice that the tips of our first tube have become SHORT. So it’s time to lengthen them - for this, we take out TWO more tubes from our stocks and, having smeared them with a little glue, insert them inside the short tails of our weaving. This is shown in the photo below.

After this lengthening, we move our cross bundles apart in different directions. So that the tubes in the crosspiece SHUT OUT, like the rays of the sun.

And now our two elongated ends will go along all the rays, each time weaving around each of them. That is, the ends of the tube go around the beam, while crossing, changing places.

In order for our weaving to be round - uniform, and not to tighten somewhere stronger, somewhere weaker - it is better to put a jar or vase in the center of the weave, and tighten our weave around this shape. So we will repeat the uniform roundness of the can, and we will get an even braid.

You can weave the two halves of the SPHERE, then gather them together into a ball (as in the photo below), or continue to weave upward narrowing the sphere to the top of the ball.

After the newspaper snowman is ready, it is painted with spray paint from a spray can. And decorate with eyes, nose, buttons, hat and scarf.

By the same principle, you can weave snowmen from willow twigs. Such snowmen with their own hands can decorate country cottage area, they will not be afraid of rain, like a newspaper and will last for many years.

How to make a snowman

FROM WHAT IS AT HAND.

You can just buy a pack of white toilet paper. Stack the rolls on top of each other. From cardboard, cut out eyes, nose, mouth, hands-twigs. From an old woolen sock to make a hat. And here it is your snowman - it is worth smiling. Cute, cute and big. Nice to see and not ashamed to show.

Here's another great way. Pour coarse white salt into a white sock. We tie the sock with twine at the top and twice in the middle of the sock we also make dressings. We get a beautiful snowman. We make him a figure and physiognomy like the cartoon snowman Olaf.

Or do something even more interesting. Knead cool, tight salty dough. Three cups of fine salt, three cups of flour, a couple of spoons vegetable oil so that it does not stick to your hands - and knead the dough with water. Pour water over the eye until the dough becomes like plasticine. And then we add more flour so that it is definitely tight and hard. With a tight dough, the snowman keeps its shape better.

And if you take not wheat, but RYE FLOUR, then the snowman will definitely not settle, it will keep its shape ironically. Rye flour will give crafts Brown color. But this does not matter - when the craft dries to a solid state, it will simply be painted with gouache or any facade paint.

Also lumps of dough can be fixed on a pedestal from an inverted flower pot. It turns out new craft. You can make a whole on the basis of dough and pots happy family snowmen.

The fastest felting method is the wet method. In a bowl of warm soapy water, a ball of wool is molded like a ball of plasticine. We just ride wet wool in hand and roll into a tight ball. Three of these balls give us body parts for the snowman.

You can make not necessarily spherical shapes. And not necessarily wet way. You can simply twist a piece of wool dry to the desired shape and comb it with a felting needle.
